okay, ngl, I’m fairly excited for my summer project. Respond in the comments if you want me to tag you when I start posting.

Title: Welcome to the Jungle

Fandom: 911, Jumanji

Pairings: Robert ‘Robbie’ Nash Jr/Daniel ‘Danny’ Buckley, Evan ‘Buck’ Buckley/Edmundo ‘Eddie’ Diaz

Rating: explicit (sex, Jumanji is not a peaceful world)

Tags/warnings: disregarding canon when it’s inconvenient, time travel (but not) fix it, getting sucked into a game really can alter the course of your life, long fic, will have a slight age difference that makes no difference, aged up Robbie and Brook, soulmates, Jumanji AU, Author does not make straight up adaptations, soundtrack is arena rock from the 80s and 90s with possibly some 70s sneaking in, Van Pelt is a racist stereotype villain and we’re popping the popcorn.

Summary:

I'm rewatching 911 season 5 and notice that both buck and lucy kinda look like the grown up versions of bobbys children. Both are daredevils whenever they're on a case and bobby took lucy under his wing as well. Is it just me? It made me miss lucy in the show to be honest.

And the bathena house 😭😭

Hi. Well, i think big part of this comes from the writers presenting Lucy as a female version from Buck who is canonically seem as Bobby's kid, and this was since the interviews before Arielle was even was in the show.

Personally, i don't think either Buck or Lucy look like grown up versions of Bobby Jr. and Brook, mostly because i don't like the comparison. I think the fandom has a tendency, even if not conscious, to treat Buck as a some replace to Bobby's kids which will never sit right to me, because as much people would love the idea, it doesn't matter how Buck rips out that partenal behavior from Bobby, how much Bobby feels like a father to Buck, there is always going to be a hole in his heart over the loss of Junior and Brook.

Anyway Back on the matter, unfortunately Lucy's introduction was messy and this did cost the reception of her character among the fandom. I wish we had seem more of what she could offer when the writer saw that making her kiss a popular main character was definitely the worst way possible to introduce a female firefighter character. on the crew. I liked her interaction with the team and wish we saw more of her interacting with Bobby as well.

Also don't mention bathena's house to me, i'm still not over it, at least i hope the house hunting material will get will feel that void.😭

“It was fine,” Buck argues.

Oh it’s fucking on.  He told Eddie that he doesn’t like being called Evan—Daniel’s the only one other than Maddie that gets a pass.  “I told you, it’s Buck.”

“Well, Buck, I’m stuck in a fucking video game with you, and you think you’re expendable.  But you’re wrong.”

Wrong? 

Eddie doesn’t pause for Buck’s thoughts to catch up as he’s gained momentum.  “You fucking matter because it’s going to take five of us to get out of here.  Five, Evan.  Not four, not four and a half—FIVE.”

“So you just need me to complete the quest,” Buck scoffs. 

“I don’t need you just because of the fucking quest!”

Oh.
