this disability pride month i wanna give a shout out to the people who 100% KNOW theyre disabled but have to deal with going through the tedious process of getting a proper official diagnosis. especially if youre just barely on the cusp of not quite meeting the diagnostic criteria so they dont want to diagnose you just yet. the ones who have to monitor their symptoms for months, even years, but the symptoms have melded so much in your daily life that its hard to keep track of whats a symptom and whats 'normal'.

so i’m at home still which means i’m watching the silverstone race with my mom and my sister. the last time i was home and it was a race weekend was china and i had to explain to my mom who nico rosberg was because he was commentating. my mom is a lewis hamilton fan (she doesn’t know much about anything pre drive to survive) and somehow came to the conclusion that she should hate nico because he and lewis don’t get along anymore

so now of course nico’s in silverstone and was asked who he thinks will win and obviously he said hamilton so i was trying to explain this again to my mom in case he comes on at some point so she knows who he is and well here’s how that conversation went:

me: hey mom remember that guy, nico, who used to race with lewis?

my mom: yeah you told me not to like him

me: no! i like him! you decided you didn’t like him

my mom: why did i decide that?

me: they’re not friends anymore because they were battling eachother for a world championship

my mom: yeah! then i don’t like him, i like lewis. what about this guy?

me: he’s in silverstone and he got asked who he thinks will win and he said lewis cause he has good race pace and i remember his race pace cause i used to race him and blah blah

my mom: is he trying to make up for years of being jerky by talking about lewis all the time?
