But before I tell you that story, I have to tell you this story:

7 years ago where teen me decided to create another account on a game called ROBLOX. Teen me had forgotten the password of her old one so she had to make a new one. Thus, she planned out a username called "Granite_FireBlast". I was able to login back to my dusty old account and OH BOY not sure what I was doing with my avatar.

The name Granite actually came from my first old OC name of mine. I think the FireBlast part came from an old concept I came up with of the same OC. (where she had fire powers and would shout "Granite, Fire Blast!" or something like that) And the name pretty much stuck to me for a few years.

You might be wondering how tf did it turn from Granite to Graynide??

Well, you can thank my sister for that! A few years later, she encouraged me to share my art online and created an account for me. The thing is, it didn't start on Tumblr.

It started on Instagram.

When she asked what my username would be, I instinctively said Granite_ (I honestly couldn't think of any other name than mY OLD ROBLOX ACCOUNT) HOWEVER, she misheard me and typed the username Graynide_ instead! You can actually search my Instagram acct up but its pretty much collecting dust. I kept the name because of how iconic it is enough to be searched on the internet.

So yeah, to make a long story short:

It’s also the reason it’s taken me sooo long to rewatch s1, lmao, having to watch her ultimate act of cruelty, picking up her pen to play mean girl on anon and nearly ruining that girls life. Having to watch her pretend to befriend her all over again knowing what she’s going to do, in the end. Yuck! 

dgmr, I actually think there’s a lot of humor in Penelope and Eloise, and can def appreciate them as two privileged white children going into their woke teen era for the first time, while still being a little selfish about it. It’s realistic. I think watching them grow apart bc Eloise was ready to start maturing in her beliefs, while Penelope wasn’t, was also an interesting direction to take that in, though I’ve got Thoughts about how it unfolded... Hopefully, in her season, she’ll grow up and I’ll enjoy the romance, even if I can’t forgive her for outing that girl’s business, whether she was trying to baby trap a Bridgerton or not!!

Anyway, my real takeaway from Bridgerton is that every single old woman in this show ATE. Watching the primary trio of older women in this show bring so much dynamic life to their characters is so enjoyable, they played them perfectly from the start, and the depth and weight given to them beneath being genre standard Matchmaking Matriarchs is so cathartic even tho I am literally a young person

That Vulcans as a species are wholly avoidant of touch. I get where the idea comes from -- they're a telepathic species that amplifies their telepathy through touch and so developing their social etiquette to view touch as something incredibly intimate to be reserved for family and lovers only except in exceptional circumstance makes sense, sure. It's not that they never express feeling/mood/emotion, it's just that they don't do so verbally or through body language. They have no need to -- these nuances are carried on a telepathic undercurrent in a conversation between two Vulcans, and it's a dimension of their communication that humans just miss out on entirely. In this fic, the Vulcans were actually quite free and casual in touching other Vulcans as a means of or supplement to communication. It was an interesting take on Vulcans and a fascinating exploration of what might make Vulcans & their culture truly alien. And uh, that's the headcanon I personally accept now when thinking about Vulcans and Vulcan cultural etiquette.
