Hello danganronpa nation!!

My bunny boy enamel set is officially up on kickstarter! 3 of the 8 designs are already unlocked! Tysm!! With two weeks to go I feel confident that all designs can be made!!

I am also running preorders for some enamel designs of Junko, Mikan, and Naegami in my shop!

so a while back ago i asked @broachart on twitter for a commission, because i wanted a gift to surprise my one of my best friends, @mightysort (dee, i love you. your endless support means absolutely everything to me and i promise not to cry this time when talking about it) 

i had the idea already planned out for our two favorite characters, fugo and yuga and... it just turned out so great. the style is so fucking cute, they’re both so happy! i’m just... just LOOK AT HOW CUTE THEY ARE!!

ABOUT OUR ZINE

What is Kintsugi?

Kintsugi is a charity fanzine dedicated to the ship of Genji Shimada and Jesse McCree from Overwatch.

But what does kintsugi mean?

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mending broken pottery using lacquer resin laced with gold or silver. Breaks and repairs are treated as part of the object’s history rather than something to be disguised.

OK, so what does that have to do with McGenji?

Both Jesse and Genji are characters who have endured many scars, mental and physical, in their lifetime. Rather than facing shame, they can appreciate the beauty in each other’s cracks and grow from them. This zine is a celebration of that relationship and all they have been through.

Is this a digital or physical zine?

Both. Kintsugi will be available to download as a pdf and in a 5.5x8.5 physical zine format.

When will it be released?

We are looking at the zines to be released during Holiday season 2018.

How many artists will be included?

We are looking for a minimum of 30 artists.

Will there be merch bundles available?

Yes, we are looking at producing merch bundles. Specifics will be added as production goes underway.

What charity are you donating to?

We haven’t yet narrowed down a charity to donate to. Transparency is very important to us regarding charity and donations so we want to make sure to take the time find a trustworthy and deserving organization.

Who can apply?

Kintsugi is an art fanzine. We are not looking for any writing at this time, but are more than welcome to comics. We do require a portfolio for applicants however.

Portfolio?

We are looking for you to submit 3 pieces of your best works as well as a link to any other work you post online (deviantart, tumblr, instagram, etc.)

Is NSFW allowed?

No, sorry, this is a SFW zine. Please do not include nsfw art as your three chosen pieces. If you are an artist who posts nsfw on your art blog, thats fine as long as it is not included in your three chosen pieces or final submission. It absolutely does not disqualify you from being chosen. Innuendo and adult situations are fine. Think PG-13.

Do I have to create something specifically for the application?

Nope! Please just link us to what you have and are most proud of!

What are you looking for in artists?

We are largely judging by skill, style, mood, and understanding of the characters. We are looking for a great variety of artists and style.

Can I submit traditional art?

Yes. For applications, a high quality scan is not necessary as long as the picture is clear. For submissions, your work MUST be scanned by a high quality scanner so it will print clearly. Please do not submit any traditional work if you are not certain you can meet these specification.

Do my samples have to be McGenji/Overwatch related?

No. Please just show us your best complete illustrations. Priority will be given, however, to artists who show an understanding of the Overwatch universe and it’s characters.

Can I use previous artwork for my final zine submission?

No. All submissions must be new and created specifically for the zine. They may not be posted elsewhere beforehand.

What are the zine specifics?

Pieces will be 5.75'x8.75’ to account for a .25" bleed. Works must be at least 300dpi and converted to CMYK color for printing. Templates and more info will be provided upon acceptance.

Can I include other characters?

Yes! Overwatch is blessed with a large and diverse cast, and exploring interactions with others is encouraged as long as McGenji is the clear highlight.

What about other ships?

This is a little trickier. Generally we feel fairly lenient about including other ships as long as McGenji is the main focus, but we ask that you seek mod approval beforehand.

Can I post WIPs/previews/teasers of my submission?

So that we can generate hype and intrigue for the zine, we ask that you hold onto your submissions (WIPs included) until mods give the OK. We will be looking for official previews about halfway through the creation period, and if you wish to be included, your submission must be cropped as to not give too much of the final piece away. These will be posted here on the official Kintsugi blog.
