Hunter: Once Arti left, everything got harder. Fighting especially, without her. I mean, you know my sister, she’s a great fighter. I am too, but with the amount I had to do on missions, it was just… impossible on my own. I was struggling.

I did not like Dallas end at all. like song goes crazy. him taking off his shirt n leaving it there as a last reminder of him. Pony's monoluge STUNNING and HEARTBREAKING.

BUT

not for me. I think the way the Dallas died in the book is so important to his character. he holds up a store and gets shot by the cops. he's not a tragic suicide to the rest of the world. he dies a hood. n that adds another level of GREIF bc the WORLD will mourn Johnny. his death is a heros death. the gang will never have the privacy to mourn their brother. Dallas death will be a tabloid. hood holds up corner store n is killed in shoot out with police. neither boy will be remembered as they were. n I feel like taking that element away really missed for me.

ALSO

not a fan of darrys portrayal. idk how to explain this but I'll do my best. ik to a certain extent we are viewing the characters through ponyboys lense but darry is missing a certain? softness. in the book n movie darry is still so distinctly a KID! he calls his brothers honey n baby. he presses kisses to their hair. musical! darry is?? not that. he doesn't mean to be maybe. but there's a certain amout of gentleness i don't personally see.

BUT!!! that's just me!!! I just had lots of thoughts n I wanted to see how everyone else thought about it!!!
