Santana had tried to downplay the engagement with Brittany to her friends. Really, really tried. She had known the minute she texted Rachel, Kurt, Quinn, and Mercedes (individually, because she couldn’t handle the mess of a group chat notifications pinging on and off all day long) with a simple and to the point statement that she and Brittany were engaged again, this would be far from the end of things she would hear about it. Her friends were not the type to simply text back a congratulations with some emojis, oh no. Instead, she was immediately bombarded with so many texts and phone calls- not just from those four, but from the entirety of the Glee club- that she got frustrated and shut her phone off. That didn’t help, they just started blowing up Brittany’s phone and Santana’s laptop instead. In the end, she had to call Kurt (the slightly more reasonable, between him and Rachel) and virtually threaten him to keep him and Rachel from showing up at their apartment door.

 

Apparently, though, Santana was no longer threatening enough to  scare them. Because Friday night, when she and Brittany got home from their respective responsibilities of the day, Santana could tell even before going to open the apartment door that something was wrong.

 

“Call the police, the lights are on inside and we didn’t leave them like that!” she hissed, grabbing Brittany’s arm. “Someone broke in!”

 

Straining to hear, still grasping Brittany, she realized that someone inside the apartment door was talking, trying unsuccessfully to keep their voice quiet. Actually….wait, was that more than one person talking? How many people had broken into the apartment? Was it a gang?!

 

And then she heard one all too familiar voice, attempting louder than all the rest of them combined, to shush everyone “because Santana and Brittany will be here any minute now!” That was when the penny dropped, and Santana dropped Brittany’s arm, growling aloud.

 

“Oh no. No, they did NOT.”

 

No longer the slightest bit afraid of being attacked, but rather of the possibly less welcome ambush she was now certain awaited her, she unlocked the door, immediately greeted by a swarm of voices calling out in unison.

 

“Surpriseeeee! Happy engagement!!!!”

 

Santana just stood there, slowly taking in the huge congratulatory banner, blown up picture posters of Brittany and Santana, balloons, streamers, and party food thrown over what seemed every inch of surface of her apartment. As she had feared, Rachel and Kurt stood in the front of the rest of the group, beaming with pride at themselves and practically bouncing on their toes in anticipation of their response. Just behind them, also far too happy looking for her liking, stood Quinn, Mercedes, Mike, Tina, Puck, Sam, Blaine, Artie, and Sugar.

 

Turning back to Brittany, Santana deadpanned, “Thanks. We forgot we have plans, bye!”

 

She made a motion to grab the doorknob, ready to flee and slam it all in their faces.

Big announcement time!

A lot has happened and even more is about to so I’m here to catch everyone up and announce something new!

To start: Over a month ago I held the first play test in the server with Nines, Slime, Chime, and Talai. It went really well! So here’s a rough overview of what happened:

Team Twoshot was tasked with finding a missing Volbeat and disabling a minor dungeon, named the Symphonic Glen, which used to be a stage for Pokémon to share their music with each other. Loudred, with his posse of 4 Whismur, took over the stage and pokénapped the Volbeat to use as a personal spotlight with her Tailglow, which gave him a +3 to Insight making his Echoed Voice even more dangerous. Plus each Whismur had a specialty punch move; Ice, Fire, Thunder, and Mega punch. It was a tough fight but Team Twoshot managed to bring the crew down and save the Volbeat, reuniting her with her lovely partner Illumise.

Nines played Heathcliff, a scarred male Gyarados with a purple scarf, well-worn but also well-cared for. Very much willing to let loose, but surprisingly careful about his allies. Particularly the ladies.

Talai played Slasher, a female Sneasel with some piercings. She has a rough exterior and personality who secretly has a soft side.

Slime played Demeter, a somewhat dainty and matronly Roserade with a penchant for drinking tea, and a distaste for unnecessary fighting. Has unique colored roses, one red and the other purple.

Chime played Tealight, a small but fearless Litwick. He's friendly if a bit creepy, and prone to jumping straight into battle for his teammates. Totally consumed with inflicting status effects.

We found a lot of things that needed clarification thanks to the playtest, such as:

Travel Points now allow you to move up to 2 tiles per point.

Which kinds of effects still apply on partial hits, most notably Lifedrain.

Fainting has been entirely reworked, which will be addressed at a later time.

General Movement, such as you can't move diagonally through 2 hostile Pokémon.

Lots of changes to Roleplay Actions, including a new feature called the Stamina Bar.

And a lot more that we've been working on!

In other news, we've finished our Explorers of Sky playthrough and have started Gates to Infinity! Team Soy Bois, led by Boi the Riolu and Wattson the Shinx, managed to save the world (with a single punch!) and now it's time for a team; Team Gorls, staring Fraisey the Axew and Brittany B the Snivy. I've actually never played Gates (no spoilers if you join us!) so I'm excited to see what happens. We stream most every Saturday at 6pm est and we voice the characters! Anyone is welcome to join and, if you're interested, you'll have a chance to voice a character too!

Another event that is just starting is Talai's Friendlocke! We will be playing through Pokémon Insurgent as a nuzlocke where each person participating roleplays as a member of the team, choosing moves in battle and strategizing together. Can these mons parent their kidnapped orphan trainer? Join us and find out!

So, what's next? Well, simply put, more playtests! There's still a lot of mechanics that need tested before this project is finished. This time, however, I will be taking a backseat. Instead, my co-creators Nines and Slime will be DMing, each testing different parameters with very different dungeon layouts, difficulties, and more. I will still be involved, just this time I will be observing the sessions and taking notes on anything that needs worked on. Below are brief descriptions of each DMs planned playtest:

Nines' Playtest:

The Coral Cape stars a ragtag group recruited by the Cutthroats, a roving pirate band. You're tasked with scouting out the titular dungeon, reporting back with any objects of interest, and - most importantly - looting anything you can get your hands on!

This playtest places low-level characters against a variety of situations,  primarily combat as well as some social scenarios.

Slime's Playtest:

Deep within the Iron-Soul Mausoleum, something has stirred, causing Steel, Rock, and Ground type Pokémon to become rowdy and dangerous. Several Explorer teams have ventured into the ancient crumbling ruin, but none have successfully cracked the puzzle and made their way into the central chamber.

This Playtest is testing the upper levels of character creation, dungeon based weather effects, as well as the maximum size of Dungeon layout.

Once the Alpha playtests are over we will be going over the entire system and reworking/finalizing as much as we can before the next stage; Beta test Oneshots. There will be a series of oneshots with the goal of giving as many players a chance to play as possible. When I watch Glee, I only see the characters, not the actors. Maybe that's just how I watch things. It could have been helped by the fact that they cast actors who weren't widely known, so for anyone who watched it when it first aired, you only knew the characters.

But it means that, for me, whatever the actors do, or say, or say about each other, it doesn't affect the characters if it isn't something that was written into the show. Like, yes, Santana got a boob job, because it was in the show. Heather had a baby, but Brittany didn't. And the same for more serious things.

I'm a fan of Harry Shum, Jr. But when I watch Glee, that's Mike Chang.

Plot:

The glee kids are spending their summer in a penthouse apartment in New York City. All expenses paid so long as they perform and work at a big summer festival in Central Park at the end of the summer. No parents, no teachers, just the glee kids and the big city to do whatever they want.

They are definitely flirtier and sexier. Some of them might get closer during the summer, some might fight and stay mad at each other forever, some relationships will grow, some friendships will be made.

Who’s keeping their heart protected and who’s falling in love? Who’s jealousy will get the best of them? Will some relationships grow or will hearts be broken?

THE HIGH SCHOOLS ON THE SHOW REPRESENT WHICH HOUSING AND CHOIR THE CHARACTER IS IN. EX: RACHEL BERRY WENT TO MCKINLEY SO SHE IS IN THE MCKINLEY HOUSE AND THEIR CHIOR IS THE NEW DIRECTIONS. SAME WITH CARMEL. DALTON ACADEMY IS PRESENTED AS A FRATERNITY. ALPHA DALTON SIGMA.

All of the characters have character cards that give more info on each of them. You will notice that though this is AU the storyline for each character is pretty similar to their storyline on the show.

Brittany, during high school, was always part of the popular group, she was part of the Cheerios, but she was nothing like them. Brittany was, and still is, very kind, generous, and caring, although she is naive and innocent, and some even say she is stupid, but, stupid is something that Brittany is not.

While proudly promiscuous, Brittany has an innocent and fragile demeanor. She depends on the guidance of others, most notably her wife, Santana, to the point that during the summer holidays, she used to get lost in the sewers on the way back from motocross practice. She has an aversion to violence, particularly among her friends.

Brittany still believes in fictional and imaginary people. She still believes that Santa Claus is an actual person who can grant any wish. She also believes that Irish people are leprechauns who cannot be seen by anyone except for her and have the power to grant three wishes.

Brittany is now a very strong adult, but her young self still lives inside of her. She is happily married to Santana Lopez, and she can’t wait to start a family with her, but for now, she is very happy with her new dancing studio, and can’t wait to make it big.
