Putting out a request...

Hey, guys. Any Candle Wasters fans out there? If so, will you please help me? I have been working hard over the past few months to archive as much YouTube content as possible before the Big December Purge, but every time I've tried to archive literary webseries, I've been overwhelmed by the sheer amount there is. I've managed to confirm that Pemberley Digital is archived on the Wayback Machine, but The Candle Wasters do not seem to be. Does anyone know any archive of them that already exists, or any archivist with a strong stomach for all the work there is to do who can create one, or help me create one? I do not want these incredible series to disappear, but realistically, I do not think I am physically capable of saving them on my own.

The only lights besides the eerie glow of malice are the dizzying dance of poe lanterns floating through the halls. Dark will never admit the how those little spots of brightness comfort and calm him, even though he does not need light to see.

Kia ora koutou,

After 4 years of being on hiatus we wanted to officially acknowledge that our filmmaking collective has disbanded.

We are so proud of all the work we made, and we loved sharing it with you all. Your gifs, analysis, letters, writing, art, and comments made us feel so lucky. Creating these stories was such a special time in our lives and we can’t thank you enough for being a part of it. We could not have made our 5 webseries in 5 years without your awhi, love, and support. We will be forever grateful for the support of our Kickstarters which allowed us to continue making series, and never forget our fandles or flamangoes.

While as a collective we have gone our separate ways, we are all continuing to be creative folks and if you follow our various social media you will see what we get up to next.

i need every light on earth gone for the night so i can really see the universe again and feel seen by something so much bigger and older yet full of color and depth its like a blanket draped over me telling me this is home and it will always be

where are all the 200k word post-day of unity fics where alador is going through a nasty and increasingly messy divorce and trying to help rebuild the boiling isles and also fixing his relationship with his kids but he's also struggling with having his own autonomy again and his own guilt over not being an actual father to his kids and he doesnt know who is outside of his responsibilities of work/family bcus he never had actual friends once he left school and once upon a time alador was the one to show darius there's more to life than what you can do for other people and now darius has the opportunity to help alador relearn the same thing and maybe together they can both rediscover what real love feels like again after years of bitterness

#krav talks #toh #aladarius #dalador #also alador is autistic and amity inherited it from him #and darius simultaneously figures out how to be a safe person for hunter again by slowly rebuilding the trust between him and alador #bcus hunter is also autistic but is more similar to alador on the spectrum than amity #and darius has to like. re-remember how to accommodate in those specific ways so he doesnt make alador OR hunter close themselves off again #but its not dadrius at first bcus hunter is staying with camila #OH ALSO it actually includes camila taking on an active role in her childrens' lives on the boiling isles #like she often goes to visit and becomes actual friends with the other adults in luz & hunter's lives #including darius. she and darius get along quite well. she is like a diluted form of luz's intense and raw Pure Goodness #and she's more grounded and is like the sturdiest tree in the forest and her company is as refreshing as the feeling of human rain #where luz is as bright and as intense as a roaring bonfire in the summer #camila is an ever-burning candle on a moonless night #she gives nothing but clarity and relief. she doesnt burn as bright as her daughter but that doesnt lessen the impact of her presence #sorry i love camila so much.

sometimes you spend a lot of time trying to forgive yourself for the crime of being alive. you might spend 21 years trying to forgive yourself. "i'm sorry," you cry, "i'm sorry that i was born and i ruined your life." you succeed, somehow. you're forgiven. and then you realize at 22 that none of it was your fault in the first place. and in the place of that sorrow and regret comes anger and hurt. it's easier to blame yourself than to feel the true depth of that kind of pain. aching, stinging, lonely pain, abject pain. you think the reason they didn't take care of you was because you were somehow flawed and unlovable. but they never cared in the first place, not in a way that mattered.

betrayal in the form of neglectful parents leaves a wound that feels like it really will never close. a profound emptiness, a profound misunderstanding of yourself. what should be there just isn't.
