Few day break from routine with friends has been pretty fun. . I got some training in on day 1 and jumped into skiing today. I’m incredibly paranoid of getting even remotely injured so close to #imtx703 ...especially since my last time on the slopes was over 5 years ago (and my first time EVER was just a few years before that 🤷🏻‍♀️). . I’m still debating on my activities for tomorrow but I have to say, this place is AMAZING. The mountains and views are spectacular and we could not asked for better weather. . I’m partial to a white Christmas, but living in Houston I certainly don’t get it here. 😂 So that means I have to head to where the snow ❄️ is like Breckenridge! Loved visiting Breckinridge. Such a friendly and heartwarming ski town. I enjoy visiting cities during the holiday season that embrace the spirit of Christmas and Breckinridge is one of them. Breckenridge is a Colorado town at the base of the Rocky Mountains’ Tenmile Range. It's known for its ski resort, year-round alpine activities and Gold Rush history. The former mining town’s Main Street, with colorfully painted buildings from the 1880s and '90s housing shops, galleries and restaurants makes it a popular place to visit. With ski towns you have your skiing, but I personally prefer snowboarding 🏂 You also have other winter activities to take part in such as ice skating ⛸ sledding, snow mobile, etc. Now if that’s not your style there is always après-ski. Some other options for a winter experience would be Lake Tahoe, Vail, and Park City. Keep in mind of the elevation. My mom learned the hard way that high elevation is not her friend 😰 Are you heading somewhere cold this year for the holidays? Circa 2002. I think we had 16" of fresh this morning if I Renner correctly. It was one of those days a skier doesn't forget. Deep dark days of blower pow in the woods. The top of the mountain was submerged in thick clouds, with big lines hiding in the storm we were forced to boot pack way back into the Windows Chutes. This photo was taken by my roommate Matty P with my 35mm film camera. I miss these days so much. I miss having my body work like it used to. We were indestructible. Until we weren't. First time in 9 years I've felt genuinely excited for ski season. The post mountain life depression is finally gone. I have new skis and a Midwest season pass. Full circle.
