lestappen gate brazil gp update!
charles did not wear the ferrari kit or a ferrari partner brand ONCE this week. he wore his own brand CLACE that he had to kill after the ferrari contract didn't allow him to continue it. (carlos, on the other hand, wore team kit or the ferrari clothing line)
red bull was actively tracking charles during quali as the only non-rbr driver. they also had charles' onboard cam on their pitwall.
charles and max were super close again???
charles seemed close with brad, max performance coach, and then got congratulated by him
max calling charles charlie on main
dts crew following charles and max
charles voiced concerns to xavi about the state of his car and a possible issue, xavi told him it's okay which lead to...
charles DNSed the race after an issue with "car systems which led to a loss of hydraulics supply, meaning he had no power steering and no gearbox command"
charles held at gunpoint by the ferrari PR people and said he can't confirm what went wrong even though he has an idea
max and gp calling charles "charles" and not "leclerc" in their radios as every other team
charles gave one of the most devastating interviews of his career that blew up everywhere after his DNS
ferrari kept calling charles' 'DNS' a 'DNF' even though FIA classified it as a DNS
max telling to an interviewer he understood his french, probably unrelated, but wanted to end it on a high note lol

Pagani Huayra Imola Roadster 1 of 8 „Masterpiece of Speed“.
Pagani Automobili presents the Imola Roadster, the new limited edition from the Grandi Complicazioni division.
Featuring a one of a kind design and technical specification, this vehicle does not fear the track even if its eight specimens are homologated for road use throughout the world. It is the best-performing open top the brand has ever created.
We wanted to create an open top twin of the Imola Coupé, the vehicle introduced in 2020 which paid homage to the legendary racetrack. Then we took another approach: we combined the Huayra Roadster BC’s sophisticated technology with the design and aerodynamic principles of the Huayra R track car. The result is the much more advanced and complex Imola Roadster.
The Imola Roadster owes part of its magic to the evolution of the 5,980cc Pagani V12, specifically designed by Mercedes-AMG for Pagani, which delivers 850HP with 1,100Nm of torque. This power is transferred to the road through the Pagani gearbox by Xtrac, a seven-speed transversal sequential gearbox known for its extraordinary responsiveness.

Abarth 500 Assetto Corse (1 of 49).
The brand Abarth came back on top of the scene with the model 500, genuine little sport car with its 1.4 Turbo engine of 135 horsepower, its bodybuilded front and rear faces and the numerous specific parts badged with the Scorpion. So to speak, there’s not a lot left from the Fiat 500 that is used as the base of the Abarth. The success was immediate and the brand launched an explosive track day car in 2009, a limited edition to 49 units. The 4-cylinder has been upgraded to 200 horsepower and 300 Nm at 3000 rpm, it is associated to a 6-manual gearbox to preserve the best racing feelings. The power is transferred to the wonderful 17” wheels via a mechanical limited slip differential and the Brembo disc brakes ensure the decelerations. As a real racing car this Abarth received a complete rollbar, a bucket seat with Sabelt harness, an extinguisher, carbon door panels and a competition steering wheel. To ensure the performances, the car has been lightened 180 kilos from the serial Abarth 500 so it weights only 930 kg! From the outside the body kit is impressive with many carbon elements, the massive spoiler and the historical racing red stripes. This configuration called Assetto Corse has been produced at only 49 units and is exclusively for track use.

I have a weird amount of thoughts about Borderlands 4, of all things to happen at TGA - I am rather optimistic about it, mostly. Pieces seem to be in the right place for a really good game. BL3 had really good bones but was dragged down a lot by poor writing and far less memorable characters and levels. Idk, the gunplay and loot system is, on paper, an improvement on BL2, but i'd return to 2 anyday over 3. Maybe its nostalgia. - 4's visuals look very nice, I already liked how 3 looked for most part and this looks to be more of that but even cleaner. The lighting especially looks very nice to me. - The environments look neat and the enemies look cool, im digging whatever is going on with the mecha-bandits and the new enemy faction looks cool also. I've always liked how Borderlands creates strong visual identities for things like enemy factions and weapon brands. I can see a whole new manufacturer based around this new enemy's schtick. - Speaking of the new villain, I am immediately more optimistic for this guy than with the Calypsos. The twins had cool designs but were one of my least favorite parts of the game, nearly all of their threats and jokes fall flat, and the contrast between them and Handsome Jack paints them in the worst light possible. While we don't know anything about The Timekeeper, it seems likely he will be taking himself more seriously, which means the worst he can be is boring, rather than nauseating. - There is a lot of chatter about the new Vault Hunters and their designs. I agree they are a tad on the bland side, but I think they really only need slight tweaks to make them satisfying, just a little more flair. Even if they don't receive tweaks (i doubt they will, game seems pretty far along) I'm still willing to give them a fair shake, plenty of vault hunters before could be described as rather generic visually (Axton and Roland come to mind) but then they win us over as we play as them and get to know them. -I would have to imagine that Gearbox is fully aware of the reception to the modern writing efforts of the series. The poor writing was the main talking point for BL3 and is has had a wide impact on the series' reputation, fully backed up by New Tales flopping hard and the Movie being a disaster. If Gearbox had even one brain cell they would know that they need to put their best foot forward here, and the introduction of a (probably) more serious villain is a good sign that maybe their primary focus won't be gags. - Hope it's good. Maybe I should replay 3 to see if my thoughts have changed.

On 2nd May 1963 The Rootes Car Factory opened at Linwood it went on to produce Scotland's answer to the Mini, the Imp.
The Hillman Imp is a compact, rear-engined saloon car that was manufactured under the Hillman marque by the Rootes Group (later Chrysler Europe) from 1963 to 1976.
Linwood underwent a number of ownership changes, passing first to American brand Chrysler before winding down in the late 1970s and early 1980s under Peugeot-Talbot.
Compact models were very much in vogue after the 1956 Suez Crisis, and the Hillman Imp, while never quite able to match the Mini, sold relatively well - especially in Scotland, where buyers took pride by the knowledge that it was the first car to be built here in over 35 years.
With an 875cc rear-mounted engine tilted at an accessible 45 degree angle, the wee motor could reach 0 to 50 in just under 15 seconds and boasted top speeds approaching 80 miles per hour.
Popular variants included the Sunbeam Stiletto, the Californian, the esate-sized Hillman Husky, and the most exquisite of all, the Singer Chamois. Hillman Imps were even favoured by Dunbartonshire Police, who first adopted the car in 1967.
The car was also celebrated for its cutting-edge design principles and quirky features. There were fold-back seats, indicators, stalk controls for the windscreen wipers and the rear window opened.
Above all, though, with a launch price of £500, the Imp represented great value for money - or so it first appeared.
Thanks to a host of internal design flaws, which included an inadequate cooling system, poor steering, gearbox and clutch problems, faulty chokes and a tendency to leak water, the Hillman Imp developed a reputation for unreliability. Break-downs became a common occurrence for Imp owners, with the car’s main saving grace being that it was generally easy to fix, provided you knew what you were doing.
After 18 years and 450,000 vehicles manufactured, Linwood was no more.
On February 11th 1981 6,000 employees at the Linwood car plant were told their services were no longer required. The firm which had given the world the Hillman Imp had gone to the wall, putting an end to car production in Scotland for good.

Adventure Force Enforcer work in progress:
Current stats: ~165 fps, 350 rounds per minute, 2 x 80 dart belts.
I always wanted to mod one of these but I've had several failed attempts. The stock gear box is jus too flimsy and breaks easily when upping the speed and voltage; so I designed a 3d printed mount to hold a much stronger motor and gearbox. The one I chose is probably overkill in terms of torque but it's not like I could just pop in an N90 or one of those smaller hobby gearboxes that Out Of Darts sells, it still needs to be able to pull a belt. Unfortunately the gearbox I got is a little slow on the fire rate, the tag said 400 rpm but it's only getting about 350. I did find a gear box of the same dimensions and style that advertises 470 rpm so I've got that on the way and it should be able to just screw into the same mount. The daybreak wheels in the internal pictures ended up being a bit too tough on the darts than I would prefer as the belt drive doesn't quite align the darts perfectly canter like a magazine would, so many darts would feed closer to the side and get pretty chewed up. So I replaced the wheels with Containment Crew Cyclone wheels, and due to there low concavity it doesn't matter as much if a dart is fed in slightly to the side. I also made a clip that can screw into and clamp down on a cereal box to act as a box magazine for the 80 round belt though the boxes are large enough it could probably hold 100. I took it to the TANG war last Sunday and it managed to do some work during one of the carpe games but during the second round I had loaded it with brand new just opened the box darts and the belt was a bit too tight on the fresh darts and caused several feeding issues.

Review: Aoshima F-1 series 1/32
Tumblr media
Introduction:
Aoshima Bunka Kyozai Co. Ltd., commonly truncated to Aoshima, is a Japanese model manufacturer based in Shizuoka Prefecture. It produces plastic modelkits of a variety of vehicles under Aoshima brand along with some other brands. The company was founded by by airplane pilot Jiro Aoshima in 1924 which named Aoshima Airplane Research Institute. In 1932, model-airplane was designated as an educational material in Japanese schools, and "Shizuoka model-airplane association" was established. Jiro Aoshima acceded to the chairman's post. There are many lines established by Aoshima brand but, in here I'm going to focus on their F-1 series. Judging from their respective boxarts, the cars were seemingly based on the 1987 Formula One World Championship. Which pressumably released way earlier than both Tamiya, ARII and Fujimi released their own Mini F-1.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. Lotus Honda 99T (Ayrton Senna):
As depicted from the box art, Aoshima produced the legendary Lotus Honda 99T owned by the late Ayrton Senna. The car was designed by Gérard Ducarouge for use by Lotus in the 1987 Formula One World Championship. The overall car's bodyshell color is yellow added with extensive sponsors livery, they even added some decal that was barely visible in the narrow position. The bodyshell was separated into 2 parts; main body and rear wing. Finally another car that belongs to Senna that is not McLaren or Williams, the 99T also proved to be competitive in Senna's hands; the Brazilian won twice and scored six. Thus earning the title as one of Senna's iconic car.
2. Williams Honda FW11B (Nelson Piquet):
Yup, another Williams car but, belongs to Nelson Piquet. It was designed by Frank Dernie as a serious challenger to McLaren and their MP4/2C car. The car took over from where the FW10 left off at the end of 1985, when that car won the last three races of the season. The bodyshell was originally white colored plastic but with added livery details, the car mainly got 3 colors; white, dark blue and yellow but, there're red and black colors in several parts such as livery trims and sponsors. Like 99T, the car also got extensive sponsors livery which made the bodyshell looking like an actual FW11B car. The car won first time out in Brazil with Piquet in 1986, before Mansell laid down a title challenge with four wins. Well... Atleast, there's an achievement for this car from Nelson Piquet himself. Although, the decals was also included with Mansell's numbering car so, you can actually make Mansell version as well. However, in this review the conversion of this model kit is more focused on the box art depiction, which is Piquet version.
3. Lotus Honda 99T Nakajima Version (Satoru Nakajima):
Another variant of 99T which was based on Satoru Nakajima car but, you can still make Senna's version by using his numbering decal. This version replaced "Camel" font with "Lotus" but, the Camel picture logo remains there. Aside from the livery, there're several body mold differences; specifically on the rear wing, front wing and there's extra accessory for the hole part near the roll hoop. Nakajima was overshadowed by his teammate but, proved to be steady if the unspectacular driver. Nakajima's best finish in his first season was a 4th at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix.
Tumblr media
Aoshima F-1 Chassis:
The chassis was build to fit with the bodyshells; which you'll have to fit the rear body's pegs into the front part of the gearbox's peg hole and snap in the front part of the gearbox with matching chassis peg for the hole on driver's interior, while the rear wing's location is right behind the gearbox. The chassis only got 2 gears which for motor and rear wheels so, there's no 4WD feature since they're not mini 4WD. The overall chassis is similar to Mini F-1 chassis but, slightly sturdier. Despite this, the front part is still the most fragile one due to many thin parts, which I accidentally broke some thanks to my carelessness. The good part for this chassis is; they don't look stand out thanks to the body almost fully covering them.
Tumblr media
Driver parts are actually the only thing they didn't do much but, they still added decals for them. My friend did most of the helmet livery such as Senna and Piquet one.
Tumblr media
Thoughts:
Unlike Tamiya and other brands, Aoshima seemingly fully licensed this model kit with extensive sponsors livery that pretty closely resembles their actual cars, seen from this conversion. They also included rear view mirror for this model kit, making this more detailed than what Tamiya, ARII and Fujimi did. However, for a 1/32 they're way smaller than I thought but, with that amount of extensive livery details I gotta admit Aoshima really nailed this conversion perfectly. This looks more like an actual miniature instead of your regular mini F-1 toys. Unfortunately, the frustrating part was on assembling 99T's bodyshell; which I had a real hard time dealing with the small parts and ended breaking several joint parts due to small peg holes but, gladly they didn't really stand out since mostly on the peg joints. You'll need to scrape the hole to fit the pegs, mainly on the roll hoop and driver holes. However, despite how detailed they looks, they're still overshadowed by Tamiya.
