An amazing piece to accentuate you Metal Build 00 Gundam collection.

Back in 2011 Bandai added one of my personal favorite Gundam Mobile Suits to their lineup in the 00 Seven Sword (from the series “Gundam 00”) with a Tamashii Web Exclusive (read; really hard to get if you’re outside of Asia) Raiser add on set in 2013. In 2017 the Metal Build line added the Web Exclusive Metal Build 00 Raiser set (which came with both the 00 Gundam and Raiser without the Seven Sword weaponry.) This year they did a recolor of that 00 Raiser set with a “Designer Blue” recolor and it definitely lives up to that branding in both the color and styling of its deco. Check out the video above to see it in action while I expand with some written thoughts and gallery below. Of course, let me know what you think of this one in the comments as well!

Presentation: The box is pretty standard fare for the Bandai Metal Build toy line however this Designer Blue variant does have a nice slip cover with a cool graphic of the raiser as well as the Tamashii Web Exclusive shipper box. As to be expected the inner contents are packed exactly the same as the previous Raiser set release given that it’s a repaint (which certainly isn’t a negative since everything is well packed within their clamshells and styrofoam.)

Build: So many Metal Builds products have been covered on this site and the Metal Build 00 Gundam Seven Sword/G which uses the same base mobile suit was reviewed in depth so I won’t rehash what’s become a pretty standard build style for this line. However since the big draw on this is the recolor it should be noted that the paint job is absolutely exquisite on it. the lines of the almost cartoon-styled shading throughout it are so well done that it makes me wish I could see the production process on it. The Raiser especially knocks it out of the park with the paint applications.

Accessories: Here’s a list of the accessories taken from the previous 00 Raiser release listing;

The accessories are ones that have been pretty standard on the Metal Build 00 variants for years but the Raiser on this piece really stands out more than the previous two standard-colored versions. Something about this particular deco really lets the detailing of it shine and I can honestly say I’ve gotten a much greater appreciation for the job that Bandai has done on this piece because of it.

Articulation: The articulation on this one is just as solid as the previous releases of this mold with it really being able to pull off about as many realistic poses as you can imagine and looking good doing so.

Overall Score: 8.5/10 – The Designer Blue variant of the 00 Raiser does its job well in the sense of being a recolor that really stands out with a deco that looks like a trendy “designer brand” piece. The paint job on this one is done so well that it’s insane. The only thing that I would say is that this isn’t really a piece I’d recommend for someone who doesn’t have a pre existing version of the Metal Build 00 Gundam on your shelf. The purple coloring is just so far from accuracy that just doesn’t make for a proper sole 00 Gundam display.

LIETUVIŠKA: Rimantas Kmita “Pietinia kronikas” Drįstu sakyti, kad tai yra lokali “Rugiuose prie bedugnės” versija. Nelyginsiu meninių ambicijų, bet seniai (niekada?) neskaičiau lietuviško kūrinio, kuriame tiek daug nesuliteratūrinto gyvenimo, gyvos kalbos ir adekvatumo. Nežinantiems — knyga parašyta šiaulietišku slengu ir pirmu asmeniu pasakoja paauglio gezo virtimą mažesniu gezu, prakošiant per save post-nepriklausomybinį jauno žmogaus kontekstą. Turgai, videkai, plakatai, padielkės, Chicago Bulls, MTV, kiemai, 2Unlimited, gengai, seksas, užsieniai, Pingvinas. Visa tai ypač sublizgės mano kartai, o jauniesnieji Rimanto bildungsroman skaitytojai ras visai kito tirštumo aktualijas jų pačių gyvenimams ir brandai. Manau, tokį, kokio LTeratūroje nebuvo.

MUZIKA: David Byrne “How Music Works” Neslėpdamas subjektyvumo Byrne bando atsakyti į spiečių klausimų: -kaip muziką įtakoja vietos, kuriose ji atliekama -kaip muzikos skleidimo formatai keičia muzikos skambesį -apskritai, kurių velnių mums muzika reikalinga -ir galiausiai, kodėl ji panaši į sūrio pyragą. Visa tai pusdievis sumaišo su asmeninėmis patirtimis ir praskrodęs Talking Heads pilvą, rodo kaip įtakingiausia 70s galo-80s pradžios roko grupė virškina įkvėpimus ir nuopolius, kaip kuria dainas ir siuvasi kostiumus.

MAISTAS: Charles Spence “Gastrophysics” yra neįtikėtinai vertinga mąstantiems apie tai, ką valgo ir organizuojantiems valgymą. O be to ir gan įtikima, jei vien šaltiniai ir išnašos užima 150 psl. Spence narsto mūsų patyrimą su maistu ir įtakas jam visais kampais: elgsenos, pojūčių, išorinių dirgiklių, asmeninio dėmesio; jis randa dabartinio maitinimo madų ištakas italų futuristų eksperimentuose ir pamoja ranka link grėsmingai atsiritančių tendencijų.

REKLAMA: James B. Twitchell “20 Ads That Shook the World” Skaitydamas keliasdešimtą knygą apie reklamą ją atsivertinėji su nuspėjamumo žiovuliu. Bet šioje knygoje tuoj pat užsičiaupi, nes JBT į reklamas žvelgia kur kas kontekstualiau ir naudoja spalvotus, ne tik juodą, pieštukus. Jis pasakoja, kaip tam tikri reklamos kuoliukai lėmė ištisus socialinius pokyčius, ką jau kalbėti apie pardavimus.

Visi juda, bet laisvai galėtų būti statulomis — tiek ikoniškumo ir svorio kiekviename užpauzintame kadre.

So often I see people say Joan knew about "Mommie Dearest" prior to her death, and that is the reason Christina was disinherited. Please let me emphatically state that is NOT TRUE. "Mommie Dearest" was written as a direct response to Joan's Will. I had discovered some time ago that Joan executed a Will in the mid 60s whereby she bequeathed her Academy Award to Brandais University in Boston (where she gave a lot of her awards during the 60s). I also had discovered a small, but unconfirmed, indication that Christina and Christopher had been disinherited in that Will. My belief on this was finally solidified when I contacted the Executor of Joan's Estate and was able to obtain all of the Estate paperwork. Within it I was able to finally obtain proof of this disinheritance of Christina and Christopher dating back to 1964. When Christina and Christopher filed their claims to prevent Joan's Will from being probated, they stated the reason for this was because Joan was an alcoholic at the time she executed her Will (in October 1976), and that she was under undo influence by Cathy and Jerome LaLonde. These reasons quickly fell about because; (1) Joan wasn't drinking in October 1976 - she had been sober since January 1975. (2) Joan's Estate attorneys presented Joan's prior Will, demonstrating that the disinheritance of Christina and Christopher happened TWELVE YEARS prior to the execution of Joan's final Will. When this happened, Christina and Christopher switched tactics as to why they were contesting the Will...which is another story. However, I wanted to post this excerpt from Christina's FIRST deposition regarding her claim against the Estate. This deposition was conducted in New York on February 10th, 1978, and is HUNDREDS of pages long (and intense)...but, this page alone is enough to illustrate my point regarding the disinheritance. Mr Leaf was Christina's attorney at the deposition. Mr Gills was the attorney representing Joan's Estate. As you may notice, Christina's attorney jumps in during this question.
