Heya, I'm Vee, 18+ years old, female (she/her) from the CET timezone! I'm looking for a few new Fandom Roleplays!
I'm looking for Canon x OC, FxM only (will double for AxA) and very much offer to Double! I only roleplay on Discord.
I am semi-literate to literate. I can write a couple paragraphs, but I prefere not having too much pressure when it comes to length. I usually type around the max. length on Discord, sometimes more. But somedays it might be a bit less.
I write my OC in first person and the character I double as (plus any additional ones) in third person.
I am in college and not the most active (most likely no rapid fire), yet I try to answer regularly and ask of my partner to be patient. Roleplaying is just a hobby for me, so I don't wanna force myself to reply, if I still got work to do or wanna spend my freetime with something else.
I am a big fan of Romance, Angst and Drama! I also like mature themes and topics, like unhealthy relationships, perhaps some yandere here and there and a couple AUs! Smut is possible, yet would I prefere to let it be an afterthought, instead of the whole story.
I also enjoy love triangles (or squares) and am always up to also double for those!
When it comes to Fandoms, those are the ones that I'm looking for, as well as which characters I'd wanna pair my OC with. The coloured ones are my favourites! I can double up as any names characters, as well as a bunch more!

San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane called on white athletes to speak out on the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Floyd’s death due to police brutality sparked riots in Minneapolis, which have spread to smaller demonstrations in other cities. Kane specifically called out Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby
“We’ve been outraged for hundreds of years and nothing has changed. It’s time for guys like Tom Brady and Sidney Crosby and those types of figures to speak up about what is right, and clearly in this case, what is unbelievably wrong,” Kane said. “Because that’s the only way we’re going to actually create the unified anger to create the necessary change, especially when you talk about systemic racism.”
“I think hockey, unfortunately, has a different culture than some of the other sports in terms of speaking out and using your voice and speaking your mind,” Kane said on Friday. “I think I’m one of the anomalies when it comes to NHL players doing that.”
“That’s another part of our problem, guys being really scared to speak their mind and stand up for what is right.”

Natural Born Killers Chapter 9 (Sam x Dean)
Title: Natural Born Killers Chapter 9
Summary: It started as an accident. That’s what it was. But things escalated from there and now the law wants Dean Winchester, one way or another.
Warnings: Language, violence, character death
AN: Thank you for all the love and support for this fic!
Present
“Tell me more about Jessica Moore.” Victor said, wiping the grease off his hands from the pizza.
“What about her?” Sam asked, throwing a piece of pepperoni in his mouth.
“Well, she was your girlfriend, right?” Victor asked. Sam shook his head. “You were listed on her “in case of emergency” contacts.”
“Doesn’t mean we were dating.” Sam said. “Jess was like a sister to me. She was dating my best friend.”
“Right. Right.” Victor said.
****
2004
“Strike out again?” Sam asked Brady as he flopped down at the lunch table with him. A few days a week, Sam stayed on campus most of the day, instead of wasting time going home for an hour or two. He was only a few minutes from the house, but once he got there, he didn’t really want to leave.
“Unfortunately.” Brady sighed. “Is it me? Am I coming on too strong?”
“Maybe it’s the cologne.” Sam said, waving a hand under his nose. Brady was about to say something with a blonde girl approached the table.
“Hey Sam. Can I sit here?” She asked. Sam smiled.
“Of course Jess. Take a seat.” Sam pushed out a chair for her. “Jess, have you ever met Brady?” Sam asked. Jessica looked at Brady and smiled.
“Hi. I think you’re in my Advanced Chemistry class.” Brady smiled at her.
“Yeah, I think so. Nursing, right?” He asked. She nodded and Sam sat back as the two made small talk. They didn’t even seem to notice when he slipped out to go to his last class for the week. He couldn’t help but smile at his two friends getting along.
****
“De? You home?” Sam asked as he came in, dropping his backpack on the couch and making his way to the kitchen for a bottle of water. He could hear Led Zeppelin playing in the garage. Making his way out, he found Dean in the garage, doing some tune ups to Baby. “Hey honey.”
“Hi baby boy.” Dean said, grabbing a shop rag and wiping his hands. Sam knew he was stressed by something. This was the third tune up Baby had gotten in two weeks.
They made small talk for awhile before Sam suggested going to San Jose for the night. Dean knew what Sam was doing, and fuck, he appreciated it so much. He hadn’t killed in months. And even those were of a supernatural nature. People around here were pretty good about not hitting on a married man, so Dean really didn’t have a need to do anything.
But they went to San Jose, and Dean unwound by killing a couple that were out for a date night. Sam waited in the car and when Dean came back, Sam kissed him deeply. Dean loved the reactions he got from Sam after a kill well done.
****
2005
Jessica and Brady had been dating over over a year. After Sam had introduced them, they started talking, and talking turned into dinner, and a year later, they were moved in together and talking about marriage. It was a couple days after Halloween and the campus was abuzz with the thought of a long weekend coming up in the form of Thanksgiving. Sam and Dean hadn’t really done a big Thanksgiving with family or anything. They did have a small one with some friends the evening before, but that was about it.
“I’m going over to Jess and Brady’s.” Sam told Dean. “It’s movie night.”
“Ah, that’s right.” Dean laughed. “Jess and Brady and their third wheel.”
“Am not.” Sam said. “Plus, Brady was our third wheel for like three years.”
“Yeah, don’t remind me.” Dean said, rolling his eyes. “So glad he has Jessica to annoy now.”
“Well, I’m going to head over there. It’s nice out.” Sam told Dean, giving him a kiss. “I’ll give you a call when I’m ready to head back.”
“Okay baby boy. Be safe.” Sam smiled and headed out the door.
Brady and Jess had gotten themselves a place in Old Palo Alto, which was catercorner for Midtown. Dean and Sam had been over quite a few times for movies, usually Sam since Dean had to work but he was always invited. Or Brady and Jess would come over to their place for beer and barbecue. Dean couldn’t believe how their lives had changed; from hunting witches and ghouls to having couples dates and a job and house. It was all a little surreal and Dean was just waiting for the rug to be pulled out from under them.
Sam made the walk over towards their place in Old Palo Alto. Sam had a key to their place, and most of the time, unless he was given notice, Sam was invited to come right on in. They had a system of placing something in their wreath on the door if Sam needed to knock before entering. But there was nothing on the wreath, so Sam made his way right in.
“Brady? Jess?” Sam called out as he walked in. The lights were dimmed in the living room, but most of the room was lit up by the blue screen from the TV. There was a stack of Blockbuster movies laying on the table by the couch; Anchorman, Dodgeball, White Chicks, and Friday Night Lights. Sam could smell popcorn in the kitchen, and sure enough, a bowl was sitting on the counter. Sam snagged a few pieces.
“Hello? Guys?” Sam asked as he made his way towards their bedroom. He could hear the radio playing. Jess always kept a radio playing on low in the bathroom. He knocked on their bedroom door and it opened, like it wasn’t latched. Sam peered in, expecting to be scarred for life, but saw nothing. He carefully stepped in and scanned the room. Everything seemed in place.
Until he felt something drip on him. Once, twice…
Sam looked up, expecting to see water damage or something. But instead, he saw Jessica, suspended to the ceiling with blood on her stomach.
“No!” Sam screamed. “No! Jess!”
That’s that’s when the apartment caught on fire.
****
Dean was out in the garage, changing Baby’s oil and making sure her fluids were all kept up. A couple Christmas’s ago, Sam had gotten Dean the ultimate stereo. It didn’t have a place for CD’s, but it did have a turntable, a cassette deck, and even a spot for 8 tracks, as well as the radio. He was currently listening to ELO on vinyl, humming along to Mr. Blue Sky. That’s when the the police scanner that Dean kept (old habits die hard), chirped to life.
“Fire and EMT requested to the Old Palo Alto neighborhood.” He heard. His head looked up at the scanner. And when he heard the address that was listed off, he was up and getting into Baby before he even realized it. He didn’t care that the house was unlocked or anything like that. All he cared was that the address of Jess and Brady’s place had just come across the scanner.
He didn’t really remember much of the drive from their house to Old Palo Alto. He pulled his car to a stop by a crowd of people who were watching as the firefighters worked to put out the blaze. He jumped out of his car and ran towards the house.
“Sammy!” Dean screamed. “Sammy!”
“Sir, you can’t go in there.” A police woman said, stopping Dean from crossing the barricade.
“My husband was there with friends!” Dean said, ready to just push his way through.
“Sir, I think he’s over there.” She said gently, pointing to an ambulance. Dean couldn’t see anything but a body bag laying on a gurney.
“N-no.” Dean said, feeling the tears filling up in his eyes. He slowly made his way over to the gurney, his whole body feeling like Jello. That’s when he saw Sam sitting in the back of the ambulance, with a blanket wrapped around him and an oxygen mask over his face. “Sammy!”
“De?” Sam asked, looking over at Dean. There was soot on him, and he reeked of smoke. Dean pulled himself into the ambulance and wrapped his arms around Sam, holding him close.
“What happened?” Dean asked.
“I walked in and suddenly, it was on fire.” Sam said, tears falling down his face. Dean could tell there was something Sam wasn’t saying, probably due to the young EMT sitting there, watching his vitals.
“Can I take him home?” Dean asked. “Or does he have to go to the hospital?”
“We can’t make him go to the hospital, but we strongly encourage it.” The EMT explained. “Smoke inhalation.”
“I feel fine.” Sam said. “I just want to go home.” Dean nodded and kissed the top of his head. He didn’t smell like his shampoo. He smelled highly of smoke.
“I want to go home.” Sam said, his voice so small. Dean nodded and got him up. Sam took the oxygen mask off and handed it to the EMT. He had already given his statement to police about what had happened. He wasn’t sure if they believed him, but it was the truth. He walked in, there was fire. Of course, he failed to mention that Jessica had been suspended to the ceiling. Dena led Sam back to the car, getting him safe and sound. He got them home in record time, hitting every light just right and such. Sam didn’t talk the whole way.
“Come on baby boy. I got ya.” Dean said, leading him to the bathroom and carefully undressing him. “Let’s get you in the shower. I’ll even join you.” Sam just nodded. Dean quickly stripped out of his clothes and got Sam into the shower. Over their four years in the house, they had remodeled, painted, and done various other things to the house. Including the bathroom. It was a relaxing spot, and the shower was amazing. After years of crappy motel showers and baths, they needed this for themselves.
“I’m going to wash your hair, okay?” Dean asked. Sam nodded. Dean grabbed the shampoo that Sam always liked and started to work some of it into his hair, hoping that it would help get rid of the smoke smell. Sam closed his eyes as Dean massaged his scalp, enjoying the relaxing feeling. He led him under the spray and washed the soap off before grabbing his body wash to work on cleaning the signs of the fire off his body.
Dean was gentle, like he always was with Sam. This was a side he reserved only for him. No one else really got to see it, unless they saw Dean interacting with his Sammy. And Sam really appreciated it. Growing up, there was so much bad stuff in their lives; monsters around every corner. He needed this to calm him down.
“Thank you.” Sam whispered when Dean had finished washing him off and gotten him out of the shower. He had dried Sam and sat him on the closed toilet to go grab him some clean clothes. He wasn’t sure if Sam would ever want to wear his other ones again or not. Not that he blamed him.
“That’s my job right?” Dean said with a smile, pushing Sam’s wet hair out of his face. “Gotta watch out for my boy.” The smallest smile was on Sam’s face then. It didn’t last long though. But Dean was glad for any progress.
“Let’s get you to bed baby boy.” Dean said after they got Sam dressed. He led him to their bedroom and laid him down on their bed, getting one of the fluffy throw blankets that Sam had bought on a whim at Khols. He wrapped it around Sam and sat beside him.
“She was on the ceiling.” Sam said after a few moments of silence. Dean looked over at him. “Jess. She was on the ceiling. Just like…” Tears were falling down his face. Dean pulled him to him, holding him close.
“I’m going to find that fucking demon and I’m going to kill him.” Dean told Sam. He knew it was a demon. That was what John had told them growing up. He wiped the tears from Sam’s face. “I’m going to go grab some water and some other things so we have them right here with us. I’ll be right back, okay?” Sam nodded, curling into the blanket. Dean left, heading to the kitchen.
“Hello Sam.” A voice said. Sam’s head popped up. He saw Brady standing there by the window.
“Brady?” Sam asked. “How did you get in here? Are you okay?”
“I’m perfectly fine.” Brady laughed. “But you need to come with me?”
“What? Why?” Sam asked.
“You know why.” Brady said. “Those dreams you had that you didn’t tell Dean about. About Jessica burning on the ceiling. That vision you had of the test and you knew the answers before you went in. You’re special Sam.”
“I don’t understand.” Sam said, staring at Brady. Brady walked closer, a dark smile on his face.
“You were born special Sam. Your kind is a very rare kind. You’re wanted. I am supposed to bring you to my boss.” Brady laughed. Dean came in then, carrying some water and a box of Zebra cakes.
“Hey Sammy I… holy shit!” He dropped everything he was holding and grabbed his gun he kept close by the bed. The room had a hint of sulfur smell in it.
“Easy Dean. Guns aren’t necessary.” Brady said. “I’m just taking your husband here, or should I say brother.” He laughed. “That’s nasty, even by my standards.” He blinked then, his eyes black. A smile curled on his face.
“Shit!” Sam said, jumping up and going to stand by Dean.
“Sam. Dean. The things you two have gotten up to.” Brady laughed, watching them. “The people you have killed. You’re no better than me it seems.” Dean glared him down. “But Azazel, he doesn’t want me to hurt Sam. Physically at least. But Dean is fair game. Just like Jessica was.”
“You...you killed Jess?” Sam asked. Brady smiled.
“Brady here was really in love with her. Madly in love. But she walked in on things she wasn’t supposed to see. So, of course she had to die. Just like your mommy.” Dean had enough then and fired at Brady, hitting him a couple times in the chest. Brady just laughed.
“Apparently you didn’t get to demons in your fighting the supernatural class. You boys have a lot to learn.” He smiled at Sam. “I’ll see you later Sammy.” With that, black smoke shot out of Brady’s mouth, going out the window. He fell to the ground, coughing and gasping.
“Brady!” Sam said, running to him. Tears were falling down Brady’s face as Sam knelt by him.
“S-Sam.” He cried out. “I...I killed…”
“You didn’t. You didn’t.” Sam said. Brady grabbed Sam’s hand with his shaking one.
“I don’t want to die.” He whispered before his eyes fell closed and his hand went lax in Sam’s. Sam looked back at Dean, tears in his eyes. This wasn’t supposed to happen. They were supposed to be safe here.
“Sammy,” Dean said, getting Sam’s attention. “Pack some stuff. Whatever we can comfortably fit into Baby. I’m going to take care of Brady’s body.”
“Dean…”
“We can’t stay. It’s not safe.” Dean told him. “I’m so sorry Sam. I didn’t want this for you baby boy.” He brushed back Sam’s hair. Life on the road, that’s what they were doomed to it seemed. Sam nodded and left to get their old duffle bags. Dean took Brady’s body out away from Palo Alto, to someplace with high crime, where it wouldn’t surprise anyone that a murder had happened.
When he got home, he found Sam standing in the kitchen, staring out the window. They could stay, but that demon knew exactly where they were. And there was always the chance that the police would decide to pin the fire on Sam, and possibly Brady’s murder. Dean wrapped his arms around Sam and rested his head on his shoulder.
“I will make this up to you.” Dean whispered.
And just like that, the Winchester’s disappeared into the night, leaving behind a house full of things that they couldn’t take with them.

XIII. The Sabers took Vesey in hopes of negotiating before he became a free agent, however, no agreement was made making him an UFA
XIV. During his free agency he met with seven teams. Five more teams requested to meet, yet Vesey denied.
XV. August 20th, 2016, Vesey signed with the New York Rangers.
XVI. At training camp, he received the Lars-Erik Sjöberg Award, which is given to the best Rangers' rookie in the camp.
XVII. On October 17th, 2016, Vesey scored his first NHL goal against the San Jose Sharks
XVIII. November 8th, 2017, Vesey scored 2 goals in 29 seconds making it the quickest number of goals scored by a Rangers player since Jaromír Jágr did so in 26 seconds back in 2006.
XIX. I won’t show the video due to blood but here is the X-ray, if you would like to watch it here’s the link. Vesey took a skate to the face from Edmonton Oiler’s Zack Kassian sending his two front teeth into his bottom lip. He claimed it ruined his ‘modeling’ career.
XX. On March 12th, 2018, Vesey recorded his first career NHL hat trick in a game against the Carolina Hurricanes (aka the team that likes to give people their firsts :/ )
XXI. In July 2018 Vesey and the NYR have agreed to a two-year contract for $2.275m a year
XXII. Here’s a goalie shootout he did with Barstool alongside roommates Kevin Hayes and Brady Skjei
XXIII. Also check out this apartment tour with his roommates (Starts around 1:45)

This Week in Caps: Week 13
Welcome to This Week in Caps, a weekly newsletter where I recap everything important that’s been going on in the world of the Washington Capitals this past week.
This Week’s Games
12/27/18 vs Carolina Hurricanes, W 3-1
The Caps came back for their first game after the holiday break with a divisional home matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes. Tyler Lewington was officially recalled from his paper transaction (and would sit the bench), and everyone else was back from vacation and ready to get back into hockey.
The game got off to a rather slow start, and as a result it was a rather boring first period. The Caps got a power play 1:50 into the game, and the Canes had a total of three power plays in the period, but no goals came of it, and nothing happened in the first.
The action really got started in the second. About three minutes into the front, the Canes lost control of the puck right in front of their own net and it slid right to Chandler Stephenson, who fired it home for a 1-0 Caps lead. A few minutes later, the Canes got themselves into a sticky situation. Rookie Andrei Svechnikov took a penalty, which the Canes killed off, but as he was exiting the box the puck went right past his feet and he played the puck from inside the penalty box, which is a no-no, and he went right back to the box for another penalty. Nothing came of either power play, but an oddity that’s not seen too often. However, the Canes got themselves in trouble with just a few minutes left in the period when they took another penalty, and that time it hurt them. John Carlson’s power play shot deflected off the stick of T.J. Oshie, who scored to give the Caps a 2-0 lead with less than two minutes left in the second.
Scary moment about halfway through the third period — Matt Niskanen got into a collision with Justin Williams and Clark Bishop, and they slid into the boards and Niskanen hit his head/neck/chest area and was down, and it did not look good. However, he was eventually able to get up and leave under his own power. He did not return for the rest of the game.
The Canes did get themselves back in the game — just a few minutes after the injury, Micheal Ferland got loose on a breakaway, which Braden Holtby saved, but Sebastian Aho buried the rebound to make it 3-1. The Canes came furiously for the rest of the period, even getting a late power play, but they did not score, and Carlson scored a late empty-netter to seal the 3-1 win for the Caps. The Caps had the shots advantage 33-29 and the faceoff advantage at 55.0%. The Caps converted on 1/4 of their power play chances, and the Hurricanes converted on 0/4 of theirs. Holtby saved 28/29 shots.
Both teams looked a little sleepy coming off their holiday breaks, but the Caps did good to outshoot the team with the most shots per game in the league. Hopefully Niskanen will have a speedy recovery, and the Caps defense will need to step up in his absence.
12/29/18 @ Ottawa Senators, W 3-2
The Caps returned to Ottawa for the second time in a week to take on the Senators yet again. There was a shuffling of defense to account for the absence of an injured Matt Niskanen — Madison Bowey was bumped up to the second pairing with Dmitry Orlov, and Tyler Lewington was slotted into the lineup paired with Jonas Siegenthaler, playing his second NHL game in the same building he made his NHL debut. Pheonix Copley would again get the start in the same building he recorded his first NHL shutout.
Seven minutes into the first period, Evgeny Kuznetsov drove into the zone and passed the puck to Tom Wilson in front, who tapped it in for a 1-0 Caps lead. Lewington got the secondary assist on the play, giving him his first NHL point. Later in the period, he followed it up with something better. Nicklas Backstrom gave him a drop pass and he cut up the middle and fired it into the back of the net, scoring his first NHL goal and making it 2-0 Caps.
The night of firsts would continue early in the second period. Just a minute into the frame, Bowey fired the puck from the point and finally, finally scored his first NHL goal. 3-0 Caps. Then things started to go off the rails just a tiny bit for the Caps. Three minutes later, Colin White stuffed the puck under Copley’s pads to get Ottawa on the board, 3-1. Seconds later, Bowey got into a scrap with Brady Tkachuk, and they both went off with a multitude of penalty minutes and no power play on either side. Then with just four minutes left in the period, Lewington and Zack Smith dropped the gloves and got into a hefty tussle, giving Lewington a Gordie Howe hat trick in his second NHL game.
The Senators controlled most of the third period play, and they cashed in for another goal late in the frame, with Mark Stone on the quick trigger in the slot, making it 3-2. But the Caps held strong and didn’t let anything else pass, and they would win by that score.
The Caps were outshot 33-24 and had the faceoff disadvantage at 42.9%. They did not have any power play chances, and the Senators went 0/1 on their one chance. Copley saved 31/33 shots.
In a night the defense had to step up, they went above and beyond with a night full of firsts. They had a Gordie Howe hat trick, which hasn’t been done by a Cap since 2011, and not by a Caps defenseman since 1991. In fact, there was actually a chance for three different Caps to get the Gordie Howe. Bowey was an assist shy, and Wilson was a fight shy.
Current record: 24-10-3
What’s Going on in the World of the Caps
Ovi Named Metropolitan Division Captain
On December 27 it was announced that Alex Ovechkin had won the fan vote and was named Captain of the Metropolitan Division for the 2019 All-Star Game in San Jose. This is Ovechkin’s 10th all-star nomination (and 8th appearance), and his second consecutive year captaining the division. The remaining divisions will be captained by Auston Matthews (Atlantic), Nathan MacKinnon (Central), and Connor McDavid (Pacific); Ovechkin is at least ten years older than every single one of them, making him the old horse of the group. Ovechkin was humbled by the honor. (x)
Niskanen’s Scary Injury
During the third period on December 27 against the Hurricanes, Matt Niskanen was involved in a collision with Justin Williams and Clark Bishop, and he ended up crashing face-first into the boards. It was a scary collision, though he was eventually able to get up and leave under his own power. He did not return to the game, and was afterward declared day-to-day. He traveled with the team to Ottawa, but did not play in the next game. He is still day-to-day at this point, and will likely not play on Monday. (x)
Caps Prospects at World Juniors
There are three Capitals prospects participating in this year’s World Junior Championship, which started December 26 and will run until January 5. Alexander Alexeyev, for Russia, Martin Fehervary, for Slovakia, and Tobias Geisser, for Switzerland. All are defensemen, and Fehervary is captain of his respective team. (x)
First NHL Goals
It was a night of firsts in Ottawa — both Madison Bowey and Tyler Lewington scored their first career NHL goals in the same game. For Lewington, it was only his second career game. For Bowey, it has been a long, long time coming, and it was evident in the ensuing goal hug. This marked the first time in Caps franchise history and the 19th time in NHL history that two defensemen from same team score their first NHL goals in same game. Alex Ovechkin made sure to grab the puck for Lewington, Kuzy grabbed Bowey’s puck, and Tom Wilson made sure to properly prank the both of them. (x, x)
Other Miscellaneous Happenings
The Twelve Days of Capsmas
Orlov’s dancing at the Russian Christmas party
The Caps wishing you happy holidays — Vrana, Holtby, Bowey
Nicklas Backstrom and fiancee Liza tried to get each other the same gift
Fan cries after Ovi tosses her the puck
DSP’s inspiration
Vrana on the road trip (1, 2)
The Caps’ celebrity twins
Player of the Week
It took 78 games, 74 shots, and 441 days, but after all that waiting, Madison Bowey finally scored his first NHL goal on December 29 in Ottawa.. But I didn’t pick him just because I’m proud of him, he has been playing very well. He also scrapped in a fight that game, getting two-thirds of the way to a Gordie Howe hat trick, doing it all while being newly promoted to the second pairing. Bowey has looked very good recently, and he’s stepped up excellently in the absence of Brooks Orpik and Christian Djoos (and recently Matt Niskanen).
Social Media Post of the Week
Tom Wilson resumed his role as prankster and gave the customary stuff-to-the-face after scoring a first NHL goal — in this video, he delivers both a shake to the hat of Madison Bowey, and shaving scream to the face of Tyler Lewington.

ZERO TOLERANCE SPORTS
Tyreek Hill.
Another scar on the Public Relations image of the NFL, not just the Kansas City Chiefs. At some point the league and the players are going to need to look inward at the bullsh*t they have created and continue to perpetuate.
In nearly any other vocation, the following charges:
· child abuse
· sexual assault
· fraud
· manslaughter
· murder
· theft
· drunk driving
· solicitation of illegal services or substances
· sale and distribution of illegal services or substances
all would typically lead to the termination of your job, and likely your career in that field…but not the NFL.
We have seen film of Ray Rice, assaulting his fiancé. Suspended, but not signed again despite rallying for a chance. Blackballed even, but not banned.
We have audio of Tyreek Hill and his fiancé discussing the CONSPIRACY to hide his abusive behavior. Suspended from team activities, but not banned despite medical evidence of a child’s broken arm and other abuse, including spousal abuse.
We have pictures of Adrian Peterson’s child, beaten and scarred. Suspended, the reinstated. He had 1000 yards last season in Washington.
We have photos of Greg Hardy’s girlfriend…beaten and scarred and bruised. Suspended, reinstated, suspended.
Them, we have the ridiculous saga of Aldon Smith:
On January 28, 2012, Smith was arrested for driving under the influence in Miami Beach, Florida.
On June 30, 2012, Smith was believed to have suffered stab wounds when attempting to break up a fight at a party at his Santa Clara county residence. Two other people were shot in the incident. On October 9, 2013, Smith was charged with "three felony counts of illegal possession of an assault weapon" relating to the stabbing incident. The charges were later reduced to misdemeanors.
On September 20, 2013, Smith was involved in a single vehicle accident in San Jose, California. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and possession of marijuana. After the loss to the Indianapolis Colts in the third week of the football season, he voluntarily entered a rehabilitation facility, to be put onto the non-football injury list with an indefinite leave of absence.
On April 13, 2014, Smith was detained and arrested following an incident at the Los Angeles International Airport in which Smith became belligerent and uncooperative with a TSA agent, who alleged Smith claimed he was carrying a bomb. After interviews revealed that Smith did not clearly state he was carrying a bomb, the Los Angeles City Attorney decided to drop the charges. Smith was suspended for nine games for the 2014 season.
On August 6, 2015, Smith was arrested in Santa Clara, California, for an alleged hit and run after driving under the influence, and vandalism charges. He was released by the 49ers the next day as a result.
On March 9, 2017, Smith was a passenger with a friend driving to Smith's house at 12:00 AM, when San Francisco police department found out both Smith and the driver were under the influence. Even though Smith was not the driver, both Smith and his friend were detained by San Francisco Police Department for questioning. On March 10, Smith and his friend were released. No arrests were made.
On September 23, 2017, it was announced that Smith had agreed to plead No Contest to Hit and Run in the 2015 incident in exchange for the DUI charges being dropped. He was sentenced to 20 days in jail. During his sentence, he was ordered to attend a treatment facility, and undergo anger management classes. After his release, he was disallowed from entering any bars or other establishments where alcohol is the primary commodity being sold.
On March 3, 2018, someone called the police from Smith's home and reported that he had consumed multiple bottles of tequila and then bit her wrists. Smith reportedly fled the home before police arrived. San Francisco police did not comment on the specifics, but did state that domestic violence of a "non-lethal" nature had occurred and they were seeking out Smith for questioning about the incident.
On March 23, 2018, Smith was arrested for violation of court order, where he was ordered to stay away from a woman he assaulted earlier in the month. The woman was revealed to be Smith's fiancee. This picked up from a previous incident that occurred on March 3, where Smith pleaded not guilty on four misdemeanor counts, including domestic violence, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, false imprisonment, and vandalism.
On April 8, 2018, Smith was arrested for violations in conditions to his bail.
Suspended, and reinstated, several times.
This is just a small sampling.
Then, what’s the solution?
A Zero (0%) tolerance policy. It’s essentially what every person working for a normal institution must endure to collect paychecks and build a career. The earnings potential of professional sports should not play any part in the decision making to whether a player, coach, administrator or team staff member will be retained after significant legal accusations and or convictions.
I have managed to live to 47 years of age without being arrested, much less cuffed and detained in a holding cell. I have managed to not abuse, victimize or injure anyone else. I have managed to not drive drunk, sell illegal substances or commit fraud. I have managed to not conspire or attempt to murder someone.
I came from an environment where alcohol abuse and drug abuse is rampant (including in my own Family), where property crime and child abuse are above average statistically and where gang activity and inter-state crime is prominent. None of that determined my behavior, my opinion on how to treat women and children, nor prompted me to seek illegal enterprise or actions.
Simply said, to be an athlete, you need to be skilled enough to earn a scholarship.
Theoretically, you need to maintain grades to compete and meet the conditions of the scholarship.
Next, you need to excel in your sport enough to warrant consideration to be drafted or signed.
Next, you need to make the team…and stay healthy enough to compete.
So, for NCAA FBS programs, here is the numbers involved:
130 Programs x 100 average player roster = 13,000 players on average a season.
A quick check of the rosters shows that each team has between ten and twenty seniors, so let's say that each team has an average of fifteen seniors. That makes for a total of 12,650 players, with 1,725 seniors.
Seniors and juniors who have met certain criteria only are eligible to be drafted.
KEY STATISTIC: ONLY 7% of eligible players get drafted IN ANY YEAR.
The National Football League employs 32 teams, with 53 active players and an eight-man practice squad.
1,952 players.
Long story short, there are a lot of talented young men who will gladly work hard and take one of the 1,952 spots of a player who cannot embrace the gift of talent they were given and act responsibly. Being a professional athlete is more than playing the game and putting on the uniform.
We are doing greater harm by continuing to condone bad behavior, criminal acts and abusive people in our sports institutions.
Being paid to play a children’s sport professional is a privilege.
Being paid to represent a branded league, branded team and endorse products associated with it is a privilege.
One’s ability to play faster, stronger and as a champion should not win over that same person’s inability to exercise self-control, live an honorable existence and show true citizenship.
You are paid to be a professional.
You have a higher standard.
Despite Charles Barkley’s denial 20-some years ago, YOU ARE A ROLE MODEL.
As soon as you pose for that first picture at the Draft. As soon as you practice in front of camera, make that winning free-throw, strike out the last batter or cross the finish line.
YOU ARE A ROLE MODEL.
It is time the professional sports organizations in this country took a stand and pick being role models and defending their image and honor by excluding the cancers that belie these great institutions.
It would hurt a lot of players and fans, but that’s the price they pay when they abuse, kill, cheat, lie, commit fraud, or anything that would get the average person fired and likely blacklisted from their chosen profession.
Here’s a small sample of who would have had their careers shortened if implemented.
Tom Brady
knowledge of deflated game balls and failure to cooperate. NEVER BANNED
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ray Lewis
witness/accessory to double murder, failure to cooperate, plea deal to avoid charges.
NEVER BANNED
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Michael Vick
Illegal dog-fighting, cruelty to animals, illegal gambling, racketeering. NEVER BANNED
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aaron Hernandez
four murders, fighting, spousal abuse, drugs and weapons charges. NEVER BANNED
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Robert Kraft
illegal solicitation of sexual acts in massage parlor – caught on film. NEVER BANNED
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kareem Hunt
domestic violence – not banned, suspended, waived and signed by Cleveland. NEVER BANNED
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Josh Brown
domestic violence – not banned, blackballed, not resigned. NEVER BANNED
Question 1: Is money really so important that you would tolerate a horrible human who is capable of abuse, murder, cheating, lying, fraud, illegal or immoral activities as an owner, coach, teammate or staff member to get it?
Question 2: is a championship ring so important that you would tolerate a horrible human who is capable of abuse, murder, cheating, lying, fraud illegal or immoral activities as an owner, coach, teammate or staff member to get it?

Carabao Cup and Premier League predictions: Lawro v 'I, Tonya' stars Margot Robbie & Allison Janney
Manchester City’s hopes of winning the Quadruple are over after their shock FA Cup defeat by Wigan but can Pep Guardiola’s side secure some silverware this weekend by winning the Carabao Cup final?
BBC Sport football expert Mark Lawrenson says: “I would imagine Arsene Wenger’s reaction to seeing Manchester City lose at Wigan was to think ‘oh dear’.
Media playback is not supported on this device
“I have been in the same position as City during my time at Liverpool where we were trying to win all the trophies and then suddenly went out of one competition and, if anything, it really focused our minds.
“It means the pressure is off because it is so difficult to win everything. You know it would be fantastic but it almost becomes a little bit of a relief when it is over and you also become bloody minded about trying to win everything else.
“So, it is great for City that they have got a chance of winning their first trophy on Sunday, only six days after that defeat at DW Stadium.
“All of their players will be determined to respond to that disappointment, and get their hands on some silverware and I look at Arsenal and think, if City are at their best offensively, I can’t see the Gunners keeping them out.”
Lawro is making a prediction for all 380 Premier League games this season, against a variety of guests.
This week he takes on Margot Robbie and Allison Janney, stars of film ‘I, Tonya’.

Robbie plays Tonya Harding – the controversial figure skater linked to an attack on her rival Nancy Kerrigan[1] in the run up to 1994 Winter Olympic Games – and Janney plays her mother LaVona.
The pair have been watching the action on the ice in Pyeongchang 2018, but admit they have not been following English football quite so closely.
“When you say football, do you mean soccer?” said Janney, who was looking for a team to support. “I went to a game here, but I can’t even remember who I watched play.”
Robbie, who says she has “pledged her allegiance to Fulham” because her British husband Tom Ackerley is a fan, tried to persuade her to support the Cottagers… but without success.

LAWRO’S PREDICTIONS
All kick-offs 15:00 GMT unless otherwise stated.
SATURDAY
<!–
Leicester v Stoke (12:30 GMT)
Stoke had a free week because they were already out of the FA Cup, so their manager Paul Lambert has used that time to work on their stamina and fitness on the training ground.
Lambert has been in charge for just over a month now and will be starting to get his methods over to his players a little bit.
But the Potters have the worst away record in the Premier League in 2017-18, with just one win and three draws from 13 matches.
They have scored only 11 goals in those games which is the main reason why I cannot see them getting anything at Leicester – I still think that finding the net is a big problem for them.
Media playback is not supported on this device
Riyad Mahrez is back on board for the Foxes and helped them beat Sheffield United to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals last weekend. I think he will will have another win to celebrate on Saturday too.
Lawro’s prediction: 2-0
Margot & Allison’s prediction: 2-2
<!–
Bournemouth v Newcastle
There are so many teams involved in the relegation scrap that there are going to be games like this one between struggling sides every week.
Everyone from 10th-placed Bournemouth downwards is in trouble, including Newcastle, and all of the teams involved would need to get on a run where they win, say, four out of five games to reach safety. I don’t see it happening.
The Cherries have strung together some positive results in the past but they are capable of throwing in a performance like they did in their 4-1 defeat at Huddersfield[3] last time out.
Newcastle, meanwhile, beat Manchester United which was a great result for them and showed what a strange division the Premier League is.
Media playback is not supported on this device
The Magpies will move level on points with Bournemouth if they beat them, but a draw is a more likely outcome.
Lawro’s prediction: 1-1
Margot & Allison’s prediction: 0-3
<!–
Brighton v Swansea
Here is another meeting of two sides fighting the drop, although they are both in pretty good form.
Brighton are on a good run of three wins and two draws from their past five games in all competitions but they need to pick up as many points as possible now because their run-in does not look easy.
Chris Hughton’s side play each of the top five teams in their final five matches and, especially if any of them have got something to play for, it is going to be tough for them.
Media playback is not supported on this device
I get stick from Swansea fans every time I pick them to lose but they should probably thank me for doing that because, every time I do, they win.
So, the bad news for Swans supporters is that I am backing them to get a draw this time.
Carlos Carvalhal’s side keep surprising me every week, they keep playing well every week and they keep on winning week, so hats off to them – and that’s why I don’t see them leaving the Amex Stadium empty handed.
Lawro’s prediction: 1-1
Margot & Allison’s prediction: 2-0
<!–
Burnley v Southampton
Aside from their defeat to Liverpool, Southampton’s form has picked up of late and they will be confident of beating Wigan and reaching the semi-finals of the FA Cup, despite the Latics’ impressive record at DW Stadium.
Media playback is not supported on this device
In contrast, it is still a long time since Burnley’s last win – 11 games ago at home to Stoke on 12 December to be precise – but I think they have bottomed out.
Injuries have hit the Clarets hard because they have got a small squad and quite a settled team and boss Sean Dyche does not make changes unless he has to.
They still play at their maximum every week, but the run they have been on shows how they need everyone fit to get a result. The good news is that they are getting some of those missing players back soon.
Robbie Brady and Steven Defour are out long term but it looks like striker Chris Wood will be back on Saturday and goalkeeper Tom Heaton is close to being fit again too.
It is a bit left field for me to say Burnley are going to score twice, because they have only managed it four times in 27 league games this season, but that is what I am going with.
Lawro’s prediction: 2-1
Margot & Allison’s prediction: 4-6
<!–
Liverpool v West Ham
Both teams had last weekend off and Liverpool used their break to head to Marbella for a few days.
The Reds are unbeaten in the league at Anfield this season and we know how they attack teams in their home games.
We also know that Liverpool’s front players are in excellent form and I don’t see the West Ham defence coping with them.
Lawro’s prediction: 3-0
Margot & Allison’s prediction: 0-1
<!–
West Brom v Huddersfield
I hate saying any match is a ‘must-win game’ but I think it is plain to see how important this game is for West Brom.
If another struggling team like Huddersfield come to The Hawthorns and pinch the points then you would not just be looking at the damage that would do to the Baggies’ survival hopes, you would be left wondering what the future holds for manager Alan Pardew, who was only appointed at the end of November.
<!–
I think the situation the Baggies are in, plus what happened to some of their players who broke a curfew at their training camp in Barcelona last week,[4] might bring a reaction from the team. They badly need it to.
Huddersfield had a great win against Bournemouth last time out but their away record is poor – they have only won once since the opening day of the season – so this is a game West Brom can win, not just one that they have to.
Lawro’s prediction: 2-0
Margot & Allison’s prediction: 4-4
<!–
Watford v Everton (17:30 GMT)
Watford are one of the teams I really worry about when I look at the bottom of the table.
I know it is early days for Javi Gracia, who has only been in charge for four matches and beat Chelsea in one of them, but I don’t see them getting the results they need to climb away from trouble.
Everton have been on a bad run themselves but I think they turned the corner when they beat Crystal Palace in their last game and I would be surprised if they lost this one.
Lawro’s prediction: 1-1
Margot & Allison’s prediction: 4-0
SUNDAY
<!–
Crystal Palace v Tottenham (12:00 GMT)
Crystal Palace have only taken two points from their past four league games, a run that has seen them slip back down towards the relegation zone, and they are only one point clear of trouble.
I don’t think Palace’s poor form will improve here, either.
Spurs have been in impressive form in the Premier League and Champions League against some very strong opposition and if they continue playing like that then they will be too strong for the Eagles.
Lawro’s prediction: 0-2
Margot & Allison’s prediction: 0-2
<!–
Man Utd v Chelsea (14:05 GMT)
It is going to be very interesting to see the team that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho picks, and watch the way they play.
I was in Spain to watch United in the Champions League on Wednesday and there is no doubt that Mourinho was more worried about the opposition than opposite number Vincenzo Montella was about United.
<!–
When you look at United, their two full-backs are basically wingers and they have got loads of attacking options but it appears Mourinho is just reluctant to let them loose.
Consequently, United do not have enough attacking intent – they do not move the ball quickly enough, they don’t break quickly enough or get enough people forward – and they are not an easy watch at the moment.
Chelsea have issues too, of course, which is why I think United will win on Sunday.
The Blues have got some outstanding players and put in a really good performance against Barcelona on Tuesday but there is something not quite right with them at the moment.
I don’t trust them to play the way they did against Barca every week, and I do not see them repeating their win over United in November.
Lawro’s prediction: 2-0
Margot & Allison’s prediction: 3-2
<!–
Arsenal v Man City (16:30 GMT)
I won the League Cup with Liverpool on three occasions in the 1980s, and each time we won the league title too.
It is great to be able to tuck it under your belt once you have won it, and it kind of kicks you on for the rest of the season.
That is why I think this game is so important for Manchester City and their bid to win three trophies, because winning it would take a bit of the pressure off them. So far they have had a brilliant season but they have nothing to show for it yet – that can change this weekend.
Will they win at Wembley? Yes. They can start again and really focus on this match after losing to Wigan – and I don’t see Arsenal stopping them.
Lawro’s prediction: 0-2
Margot & Allison’s prediction: 3-0
Lawro was speaking to BBC Sport’s Chris Bevan.
