Hello! I hope you’re having a lovely day! I would like to ask for a ship request for my OC Magdalena (Maggie) with the Bowers Gang, please. She is a first-gen Mexican-American, 5’4”, with olive-toned skin and a curvier (mid-size) body. Her hair is dark brown, long, and fluffy, sort of like a lion’s mane, and her eyes are brown. She wears a lot of light colors, dainty floral prints, and feminine pieces, etc. Maggie gravitates more towards tank tops, dainty blouses, cardigans, skirts, dresses, loose-fitting jeans, flats, Mary Janes, and kitten heels. She is a very lively, friendly girl who cares for others more than she cares for herself. She uses humor and sarcasm to diffuse situations often. While she appears to be very easygoing, Maggie actually has very low self-esteem and bottles up her big emotions, which cause her to be very sensitive and defensive, making her especially catty and blunt during verbal arguments. Maggie was raised Catholic and is forced to act as the perfect, family-oriented, obedient daughter at home. She likes a wide variety of music, most notably Bananarama, Donna Summer, the Runaways, Dokken, Caifanes (Mexican goth rock band), TOTO, and the Beatles. Her hobbies include playing volleyball for the Derry High girls' team, sewing her own clothes (most of her closet is homemade), going to the record store, and nature walks in the woods or quarry whenever she has free time away from her family.

Victor Criss

Maggie and Victor meet during fifth-period chemistry after being paired together as lab partners. Before then, the two hadn’t interacted much; while Victor always thought she was pretty, they ran in completely different social circles, so he didn’t know her well enough to form a romantic interest in her.

However, once they start working together, Victor falls — hard. He's very much attracted to soft, gentle, artistic types, and as he engages in polite small talk with her throughout their lessons, he becomes extremely interested in Maggie.

And, as much as Victor likes those aforementioned types, what he likes most is someone who has a bit going on in their lives, particularly because he can relate, and believes that the best relationships come through working through issues together. So, all in all: the guy's sold.

After learning more about her and taking her family life into account, Victor would ask her out in the most gentlemanly, Victor way by asking to meet her after class before laying the big question: "would you like to go on a date with me?"

The dates would be extremely thoughtful and sweet; the first date, Victor takes her to Derry's record store, and tries picking out records for her that she likes, learning her music taste in the process. While Vic has a pretty cut-and-dry post-punk music taste, he's extremely open-minded, and would make a point to listen to things she recommended.

As he learns her taste more, he makes her custom mixtapes, and will 100% jam out to Cafaines with her.

On that note, Victor is absolutely enthralled by her hobbies. While creative, he's not super crafty, and also... he is not a sporty person at all. He's very much blind to physical senses, so he loves watching her play, and finds a lot of joy and solace in being around her while she sews or goes on walks, even if the two aren't talking too much.

(Also, let's be real, Vic thinks she's really hot while playing volleyball).

Additionally, Vic would be pretty in-tune with the standards her family imposeds on her regarding religion. He grew up in a New-Age, spiritual household, and nobody can be blind to the effects of organized religion in Derry's heavily Catholic community. He wouldn't be pushy, but he'd definitely try to talk to her about her religion, home life, etc.

To that point, he knows what it's like to always have to be the "rock" for people, and while he doesn't have that gendered, religious aspect to his experiences, he understands that Maggie does, and he takes that very seriously.

Vic would be able to understand her insecurities, and would always put boundaries between people (*cough* Bowers and Hockstetter *cough*) and her. He specifically makes sure what is and isn't O.K. in the relationship (E.G. is it fine if he picks you up at your house? What compliments are O.K.? What compliments are not O.K.?) and is always very attentive to her.

However, the guy's a massive stoner, and will sometimes lose social awareness, which could possibly lead to discomforts in situations with other people; while he's Maggie's #1 guard dog and boundary-setter, when he's had two many hits of the penjamin, he goes into la-la land. I could imagine this causing some tension in the relationship, because he definitely would get too caught up in high-thoughts to realize what Patrick just said to Maggie, but not full-on arguments.

And, that brings us to the others boys. I’m going to be completely honest: Henry and Patrick are not good with people of color, particularly women of color. Patrick is more of a “casual” racist, who drops extremely offensive comments and "jokes" at the drop of a hat, while Henry… well, we know how he treated Mike.

So, Patrick would find every possible thing to say something offensive about when it comes to Maggie, whether it’s her heritage or her religion (and, since the ‘80s is when the priest scandals really started to hit mainstream, bro does not hold back). Henry, on the other hand, would probably not say much to her face, but make snide comments about her mixed ethnicity.

However, as he gets to know her more, he would warm up to her quite a bit. While I'd imagine Henry would say nasty things about Maggie concerning her heritage before her relationship with Vic — while they're in very different social circles, it's not hard to pick out a girl of color in a place like Derry — he would get at least ten shitty comments in.

I'm not gonna lie, the guy has two factors he uses to decide how awful he's going to be, and it's a) is she hot and b) is she the "standard woman": AKA quiet and likeable. If the answer is yes, he will somewhat cease his bigotry. On the outside, Maggie fits the "yes" to both, so she grows on him, and he would have at least one drunken bonding session with her.

That being said, as long as Vic isn't high as a kite, he will fight for Maggie. Our dude will go to war for Maggie. Even with the power dynamics in the group, Victor has made it clear he won't tolerate shit, and everyone respects that (even Hockstetter, in his own Hockstetter way, which... I mean, it's something, but he definitely still is a dick to her).

Belch, on the other hand, has a huge crush on Maggie. Like, huge. Embarrassingly huge. He tries his best to hide it, but he finds Maggie extremely sweet, funny, beautiful, and loves her taste in music — just because the guy's a metalhead doesn't mean he can't get down to some Beatles. Vic is his best friend in the group, so he tries not to let it show, but he always beams when he talks to her and makes an effort to be thoughtful, gentle, and kind to her.

All in all, while there are some canon-typical bumps (*more aggressive coughing* Patrick *even more aggressive coughing*), Victor and Maggie have a very good relationship, and the boys have accepted her (Belch especially). Have fun with them, Mags.

Belch knows most people disregard him as the unfortunate looking one of the gang who’s dumb as rocks, and most people aren’t shy to make it known that’s how they think of him

For most of his life that’s what he’s been treated as, another dumb bully just without the looks his friends were graced with

When he found out he was paired with Marilyn for the history project, he was overcome with dread—guessing that Marilyn was just going to be another popular girl who would treat him like human garbage

To his surprise, Marilyn was rather different. Sure they bickered and lightly teased each other, but she didn’t treat him any differently than she would another one of his friends… except maybe Patrick’s psychotic self

About a week after their project, Belch found himself missing this feeling of normality. The feeling that he was just another regular teenage boy

Two weeks had passed when Belch finally approached Marilyn. He sheepishly stood in front of her desk with a small smile (looked more like a sneer). The stares they were receiving from their peers made him want to shy away, but the reassuring smile he got from Marilyn was enough to give him the courage he needed to ask her if she wanted a ride home

After a painfully tense drive home, the bulky brunette asked Marilyn if she wanted a ride to school the next day. From then on a schedule was made! Belch would drive Marilyn to school, home with the guys on Friday, and on cheer practice days would return at 6 to take her back home

When asked why he does this, he would turn red like a tomato while sputtering out some excuse.

“Kids are going missing, moron! Use your head, damnit!”

After weeks of rides and pining, Belch asked Marilyn on a date.

He did not phrase it as a date, instead he asked if she wanted to go on a nature walk

He popped the question of dating when they were miles deep into the woods and only he knew the way back.

He doesn’t show her off necessarily, but he sure isn’t shy about letting people know she’s his girlfriend

He’s actually quite proud of the fact that he could bag Derry’s golden girl since he was viewed as Derry’s… unfortunate looking bully

The gang had already got the hint that Belch had a thing for Marilyn, so it was no surprise to them when they saw the couple coming towards the car hand in hand

Henry is quite vocal about how off they look together

Victor is not at all as vocal as Henry or Patrick, instead he quietly appreciates the couple who act as the parents of the group

Patrick tried to hit on Marilyn during a ride home and Belch slammed the brakes knowing Patrick doesn’t wear his seatbelt

Belch had to clean the blood from the back of the headrest where Patrick’s head smashed into it

From then on Belch kicked Henry to the back to make Marilyn his passenger princess

Belch isn’t the jealous type by any means but seeing Marilyn around the jocks really grinds his gears

Like most people assume, Belch is the brute of the group, however he is also a big gentle giant who won’t use his strength against others unless commanded by Henry

It is for that reason that the gang was so surprised when Belch socked the QB of the football team for staring at Marilyn in her cheer uniform

He sheepishly apologized to Marilyn after while she was cleaning his knuckles

This big softie loves cuddling, hugging, or carrying his girlfriend

He’s very into words of affirmation and physical touch

His list of cute nicknames for her are out of this world

PDA enjoyer because he loves to show how beautiful his girlfriend is and how much he adores her

Attends every game she cheers at but only for her

Though he is a great boyfriend, at times he was entirely clueless to the double life his girlfriend was leading

When he found out she had been drinking at parties and taking up smoking, he offered guidance but also protection

He stays sober to make sure she’s okay when she’s not

Though he absolutely loves his precious Marilyn, his loyalties still lie with Henry. There were more than a few times when he would have to cancel on dates or pick her up a little later than usual because of Henry

There are periods of time where he loses sight of his main priority (Marilyn) because he is so caught up with Henry

He usually makes up for it by taking her out on a nice date, especially picnics

Belch tries to take her on a nature date at least once a week

Overall, Belch is a pretty wonderful boyfriend who loves his Marilyn dearly and would do anything for her. The attention she lacks from home is easily made up by her lovesick boyfriend… who can maybe be a bit much at times, but he means well!

Henry and Marilyn likely have known each other since there are children — after all, Derry is a tiny town. Throughout it all, Henry and Marilyn honestly hadn't interacted much; while Henry thought she was pretty when she was younger, and enjoyed her former timidity, as the two of them grew older, their social circles completely changed. However, he never really stopped looking at Marilyn. It wasn't intentional; he did it to all the girls at school who he thought were "bangable", but with Marilyn, it was a bit different. She was the kindest person he'd met around Derry, but there was an inherent unattainability to her: her seeming perfection made him feel insecure, causing him to project a quality of "stuckupness" to her.

In a twist of fate, the two were paired as tablemates in English, and later, partners. Henry does not talk to her at first; when she says hi, he'll say it back, sure, but if she asks him about his day or anything, even, it's always a one-word answer. Our boy Henry is not a man of words. But...

Henry's awful at English, and regardless of Marilyn's abilities, she's 100% going to be leagues better than Henry. Because of that, he starts engaging with Marilyn more — though mainly because of Marilyn's consistent kindness towards him. She's never too pushy, but still offers him help with classwork when she sees him struggling, and even sometimes gets a tiny exhale of a chuckle from him.

Time goes by with them exchanging some awkward words that eventually turn into more sentences on Henry's end. By that point, they're paired together for a Fahrenheit 451 project. Henry does not fuck with this. Marilyn fucks with this better. As such, Marilyn takes the lead, much to Henry's gratitude, though he doesn't show it. He just sits there, occasionally giving a single nod as Marilyn talks about the project, letting her do all the work.

They begin getting closer through this, particularly because of the form: a massive trifold, which is impractical to work on at school. Marilyn, bless her, proposes her house to work at, which relieves Henry so much. As such, they begin meeting whenever the two of them have the time. Henry would immediately feel out of place in her home, and, noticing his anxiety, Marilyn would never call it out, only doing things to subtly make him feel more comfortable.

This would make Henry soften to her even more as they continued to work on their project. As they continued to work together, Marilyn would definitely be able to notice small cracks in Henry's exterior. Still, she doesn't push him, something Henry desperately needs in any sort of romantic relationship. As they continue to spend time at Marilyn's house, they'd have a lot of more organic conversations that flow far more naturally than the ones at school. He's not a big talker, of course, but he'd start talking a lot more willingly, though not sharing much about himself.

Eventually, Henry and her begin hanging out outside of her house, particularly after a rough day of Henry's. After getting into a rather vicious spat with the school janitor, Henry ended up in detention, only getting out after Marilyn's cheer practice had ended. Upon seeing his face, which looked more like a kicked puppy than anything, Marilyn — bless her soul — came over to talk to him, even if out of sight of the rest of the cheer team (maybe intentionally, maybe unintentionally). Henry asks, without making it clear that it was any sort of date as the romantic he is not, asks if she'd want to come with him to the quarry.

And... she does. The two head to the quarry, sitting below the bridge that overlooks the quarry, staring into nothingness. It's not uncomfortable, though. The two talk about Henry's awful day, which Marilyn makes him feel better about, as well as talking about other things: Marilyn's involvement on the cheer team, the things she does for fun, and maybe even her family.

Eventually, these hang-outs become a regular occurrence, and finally, Henry asks her if she'd like to come to a bonfire the Bowers Gang hosts every month at Victor's house.

She comes, and things just feel... right. The Bowers Gang are quite nice to her, excluding Patrick being weird ("that your eye candy for the night?" followed by a disgusting Hockstetter-signature cackle), and there's plenty of beer: something that may likely contribute to Marilyn's substance abuse issues.

When they're both drunk and getting ready to leave — Belch is the sober-monitor for the night but is incredibly forgetful, and has to find his keys — Henry initiates the first kiss. It's clumsy — Henry has not had any romantic interests that have led to any skill — but it's as sweet as a kiss from Bowers could possibly be.

Henry's wishy-washy about immediately putting a label on their relationship, and I'd imagine Marilyn might be too; Bowers is basically a walking hazard label, but could be used as leverage against her parents (though that's not to say she'd be using him), so she'd have a lot of mixed feelings, while Henry would simply not feel too much rush to make things official.

After about a month, though, Henry asks her point-blank if she'd like to be his girlfriend. Marilyn says yes. Queue flying doves and falling petals and beautiful lighting.

Just kidding! It's at the quarry, and it smells like wet grass.

Once dating, Marilyn would both be and provide a safe haven for Henry, and he'd spend a lot of time at her place to escape his father. He'd slowly be able to ease into physical intimacy with her, even letting her hold him sometimes. I could also see her patching him up when he's hurt, and being a borderline mother figure for him, because... trauma.

Henry would be understanding of her frustration with her family, considering Butch only pays attention to him when he's abusing him, but would be irritated with it too. How he sees it, Marilyn's getting fed and going to bed without any blotches or marks on her torso; after a tough day, if she mentioned it, he would 100% would blow up on her.

However, I don't see him physically hurting her. While Henry has no qualms with hitting girls in relationships, especially because his father taught him that it was how to "keep a woman in her place", I can't imagine Marilyn ever pushing him enough to get him to that point. It would probably just be some awful arguments that left Marilyn crying, and Henry simply... leaving the room.

Still, he'd make it up in his own ways: being slightly more caring and gentle, though never apologizing directly. This could also lead to some arguments if Marilyn ever spoke up about it.

Henry would also be super possessive over her, and might even become jealous of her cheerleading. They would go to parties a lot, and if he saw a guy looking at her in any way, shit would go down.

But, back to the nice stuff: Henry's a shower rather than a teller, and would always do his best to give her small trinkets, be there for her physically, and make space for her, be it in Belch's car, parties, or general Bowers Gang hangouts.

And that brings us to...

Henry wouldn't have any qualms about introducing her to the gang. He is obsessed with coming off as tough and masculine, so he wouldn't even really think of the implications it could have on Marilyn's social status unless he noticed she was trying to avoid being seen with them (which, if that happened, would lead to a massive argument).

So, if all goes well: they'd all end up your friends (though Patrick's personal definition of "friend" varies wildly from the standard). Henry would likely insist in a Henry way of her riding home with them, essentially just saying, "get in" — he's not a charmer

Belch would have a massive crush on Marilyn, which he would be terrified of; with Henry, that's essentially a death sentence. Because of that, he'd be cordial.

However, he would definitely drunkenly talk to her whenever they went to parties — never confessing his feelings for her, but being far more open than he'd had before, and getting to know more about her and her life.

Queue super cute conversations between the two of them; maybe not romantic, but still, cute, platonically (though not on Belch's end, painfully; bless his heart).

Now, Patrick... he's gross. He's attracted to basically every type of girl, and finds "goody-two-shoes", happy-go-lucky, sweet girls very, very fun. He'd not just make weird comments to her when she was around, but he'd try to test her boundaries: getting her to smoke, encouraging her to shoplift, and trying to make her say words she'd never usually say (E.G., if she doesn't curse, try to get her to).

If Henry saw this, he would immediately put a stop to it, so he pretty much only does it when Henry's not around. However, I could see Marilyn possibly going along with some of Patrick's suggestions.

And, once he sees that? She's good in the gang. He's got a huge thing for corruption, and he loves to see it in Marilyn.

Also, he would 100% steal her cheerleading stuff to fuck with her. He sucks.

Due to Belch's crush and Patrick's general instability, I think Victor would be her closest friend in the gang. He's the most intuitive of the gang, so he'd pick up on the substance abuse issues that Henry does not, and gently try to make sure she's not drinking too much and trying to avoid having too much alcohol or weed around her on non-weekend days.

Marilyn is very easy to talk to, which is nice for Victor; he's not shy, just introverted, and having someone who has such ease in conversations is nice. They talk about everything; their home lives, music they like, their plans for the future, everything.

He, too, also becomes quietly protective of Marilyn, shooting Patrick dirty looks or even telling him to fuck off when he tries to pressure Marilyn, even comforting Marilyn if she ever came to him about Henry's hot-and-cold behavior, so on and so forth.

It's a rare pure friendship when it comes to the Bowers Gang, and I love to see.

As a group, they'd all do a lot together: bonfires, parties, late night junkyard trips to unload steam on random garbage, and occasionally diners (though most refuse service to the Bowers Gang due to their tendency to dine-and-dash).

So, all in all: Marilyn's got some guys who would drop everything for her (excluding Patrick, who's just there to escalate, let's be real), and I'm glad she's got that, even with the highs and lows there are with Henry. Stay safe, girl, and don't let Hockstetter be around you alone.

Pre-Dating

Henry didn’t really know how to feel after Marilyn helped him with his rock fight injuries

He didn’t get the chance to say thank you, nor did he want to thank you because it’s embarrassing for him

It wasn’t until school started up again that Henry remembered Marilyn’s kindness when he saw her in 2nd period

He, of course, sat in the way back of the class during 2nd and 4th period, but his eyes always seemed to be set on that blonde vixen

Henry had started to subconsciously stare at Marilyn during school, especially in class or lunch

It wasn’t until Patrick Hockstetter made a joke about Henry always “eye banging” Marilyn that he even realized what he had been doing

This flustered the fuck out of Henry and he nearly gave Patrick a black eye for what he said, but Henry couldn’t deny what he’d been doing when they caught him

Let’s get one thing straight, Henry Bowers is a whore for affection and care

A mother’s love if you will

Marilyn offered that to him the day she helped him

That little gesture was enough to kickstart Henry’s subconscious crush on Marilyn

Once it became apparent to Henry, he would sometimes stalk Marilyn around school (with or without the gang. Just never with Patrick)

He began to attend football games and pep rallies just to see Marilyn cheer (He hates sports but he loves seeing girls in tiny skirts. What can I say? Motherless behavior)

Dating

Henry didn’t want the relationship to be public at first, mostly because he knew it would tarnish both of their reputations

Dates were at night and only at odd locations i.e. the barrens, quarry, woods, junkyard

He did however tell the gang and boy were those boys shocked

Belch and Vic were already on good terms with Marilyn, so they were rather happy about Henry’s girlfriend

But Patrick, the devious little whore, was more keen on making Marilyn as uncomfortable as possible whenever she intruded on their little gang outings

Henry made it a point to never let Marilyn around Patrick alone, even appointing Belch to be around Marilyn if Henry wasn’t around to guard her

He’s a bit overprotective as a boyfriend

In public he’s just so stoic and “manly”

But in private he’s a bit more relaxed, letting his walls down whenever it’s just him and his little ball of sunshine

He isn’t into getting sappy and venting to Marilyn, but he will often let her patch him up after fights, or go to her when he and his dad get into it

Cuddle bug.

Henry’s love language is physical touch, but he will only ever touch Marilyn with innocent intentions

He’s scared of sexual intimacy with Marilyn because she’s so pure and he’s worried about ruining her 🌻

He found out she likes to get drunk at parties, so he started to attend parties to keep an eye on her from a distance

Gets violently angry when Patrick calls her Marsy

Henry makes Victor sit in the middle of the trans am to block Patrick’s wandering hands from Marilyn

“I’m gonna rip your fucking hands clean off your pathetic body” -Henry to Patrick

Very possessive over Marilyn, so her friendly personality makes it even harder for him

In mental anguish whenever he sees her sitting with the jocks during lunch

This jealousy and possessiveness is what convinced him to make the relationship public

Unfortunately, his feelings only grew stronger at the attention she garnered when their relationship was announced

He began to pick fights with guys who paid attention to his dear Marilyn, sometimes gripping her wrist to usher her away whenever the stares were driving him insane

What was at first a sweet puppy love crush became Henry doing everything he possibly could to guard his Marilyn from the world and all its negativity, unaware that he was part of the problem.
