yes, yes, boba fett finds it strange and uncomfortable when people can see his face and this is one of the major reasons he almost never removes his helmet (in the expanded universe anyway), but another factor that i think isn't explored nearly enough is just how much his helmet shapes how he sees the world. it grants him 360° vision, lets him interface with his weapon systems and slave I, and automatically dampens loud noises and dims bright lights. imagine going through the vast majority of your life seeing the world through that lens and then suddenly taking it away. removing his helmet for any significant length of time likely isn't just uncomfortable for him but downright disorienting.

the fandom doesn't talk about louis de pointe du lac: failed street photographer enough. it's such a pretentious guy subgenre of photography and Fred Stein is one of the OG masters. famously unsocial louis de pointe du lac is out here doing the most peopley peopled genre of photography before cameras can even handle night time. do you know how hard it is to get the right spontaneous night time lighting even with present day cameras and their slick software? you have to be SO patient. it's awful. my man is out here trying to live like a 2020 influencer with an iphone on night mode but he's got like a fucking bellows lens and shit. no wonder he gives up.

some snapshots of boba fett being a socially anxious mess in legacy of the force

facing some of the galaxy's most ruthless and hardened killers in combat? no problem 👌 having a heartfelt conversation in a room with friends and family? RUN!! 🏃🏃

"am i allowed to call my best friend by his first name when we're at his house? if i get the answer wrong, it is equivalent to me stepping on a landmine and exploding btw"

the thought of having anything like a family or social circle is terrifying to him. loneliness is a much more familiar and thus comfortable experience.

this is a sad one. trying to interact with other people in a way that isn't predicated on violence (whether for or to them) feels so alien and daunting to fett that he feels like he's incapable of it. (it's also one of the many moments in which fett is an unreliable narrator of his own character development bc what do you think you've been doing for the past three books, idiot)

and finally, one of the (several) moments in the series that implies he usually relies on beviin and/or medrit to handle daunting social interactions for him :`) he's very lucky to have them!

wait i just thought of something. so in g5 luffy can summon storms… in loguetown a storm saved his life. i’ve seen a lot of speculation that it was dragon, but uh. have we considered the fact that it could’ve been either luffy (subconsciously) or the gum gum fruit itself???
