britneys in the zone is so funny because so many of the most mediocre songs on the album are organized near the beginning so youre like wait is this actually not as good as i remember. and then the early morning to toxic transition happens and you're like Ok nevermind

Highlights from the Green Day concert at Austin
flames
that dancing guy in the gross ass bunny suit at the start of the show that they just REFUSE to clean
someone threw Billie Joe a Mexican flag and he posed with it (as a Mexican American I cheered VERY hard)
Tumblr media
someone in the crowd gave him a big red hairbow and he wore it (I wish I had a picture)
more flames
me scream-singing and dancing to every single song so hard I didn't notice I lost an earring and it SHATTERED under my boot
Billie Joe pulling out a heart grenade that exploded into red streamers and my butch boyfriend caught one and tied it to my hair 💗 they also kept making sure I was hydrated throughout the show
The costume changes when they went from playing Dookie to American Idiot. ex: Mike Dirnt (bassist) taking off the orange jumpsuit from the Basket Case music video to reveal the more "modern" outfit under. I think that transition was cool considering how different these 2 eras are!
THE GIANT HEART GRENADE INFLATABLE????
the little Bad Year blimp from the album cover of Dookie flying over the crowd
my boyfriend buying me a tote bag at the merch table ^_^
When Billie told us to take out our phone flashlights to wave in the air (during Boulevard of Broken Dreams I think?) and said it was the only thing an iPhone is good for.... #ilovemyboomerdad
During Time of your Life (the last song), after Billie Joe told the crowd to put away their phones and to be “in the moment”, Tre Cool (drummer) runs out with a phone and circles him while filming LMAO
BONUS: this picture my boyfriend took of me while I was singing along to Fuck Off and Die

we should have an early 2000s cookie run au where dark choco is a semi-punk who rots in his room 24/7 listening to the whole american idiot album and especially boulevard of broken dreams, give me novacaine and wake me up when september ends being his favourite tracks off the album
on the other hand we should have affogato in trashy y2k makeup living off the paris hilton vibes but goth

Outkast’s Big Boi, EDM artist Zedd, U.K. band Nothing But Thieves, Norwegian artist Aurora, rapper Hanumankind, guitarist-composer Cory Wong will perform in Mumbai on March 8 and 9, 2025
Anurag Tagat Sep 10, 2024
American punk-rock heroes Green Day, pop artist Shawn Mendes, U.K. hitmakers Glass Animals and singer-songwriter Louis Tomlinson are among top-billed acts making their India debut at Lollapalooza India 2025 in Mumbai, between March 8 and 9.
The lineup for the third edition of Lollapalooza India also includes rap veteran Big Boi from Outkast, U.K. band Nothing But Thieves, Norwegian pop artist Aurora, electronic artists like Zedd, John Summit and Alok, American guitarist-composer Cory Wong (known for his work with acts like Vulfpeck), breakout rapper Hanumankind (also our latest cover star), South Korean indie rock band Wave To Earth and rising pop artists Isabel LaRosa and more. Folk-indie singer-songwriter duo Lullanas – comprising Indian-origin siblings – will also make their India debut at Lollapalooza India 2025.
More Indian artists adding heft to the lineup include singer-songwriter Dot., rappers Raftaar and KR$NA, Punjabi artist Talwiinder, sitarist and fusion artist Niladri Kumar, pop artist Lisa Mishra, rock artist Raman Negi, Ahmedabad rap favorite Dhanji, producer Spryk, pianist-composer Sahil Vasudeva, DJ-producer Anushka, multi-instrumentalist-producer Sid Vashi, singer-songwriter Raghav Meattle and indie multi-instrumentalist/producer Sudan.
The announcement in September makes for meme-friendly news for Green Day, known for songs like “Wake Me Up When September Ends.” The band announced their India debut on Instagram and said, “Another first for us!! India, you’ve been calling our name… and it’s finally time to answer. We’ll see you in Mumbai next March for @LollaIndia.” The trio comprising Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool released their most recent album Saviors in 2024 and will likely dig into all-time hits like “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life),” “American Idiot,” “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” and more. Shawn Mendes, known for hits “In My Blood,” “Treat You Better” and new single “Why Why Why,” returns to the live stage after more than two years on his current tour, which includes Lollapalooza India.
Louis Tomlinson, who has a big following in India following his time with pop group One Direction, will also make a long-awaited India debut. Fellow Brits Glass Animals are a big draw on the back of releasing their new album I Love You So F***ing Much in July, but primarily due to their 2020 hit “Heat Waves,” which was the seventh-most streamed song in India on Spotify in 2022.
Glass Animals founder Dave Bayley – who visited India as a 16-year-old – told Rolling Stone India in 2020, “Thank you for the support, I hope you are staying safe and healthy. We can’t wait to come and visit.”
In a wholly new strategy, Lollapalooza India’s 2025 lineup is out six months in advance of the multi-genre festival taking place in March. BookMyShow Live also took a similar approach while announcing the lineup for their festival Bandland, which is taking place on Nov. 23 and 24 in Bengaluru.

Todays rip: 13/03/2024
Nuclear Pomeranian
Season 8 Featured on: Now That's What I Call Quality! 3
Ripped by Half Pixel
youtube
Requested by Oetam! (Discord)
I've covered a number of rips featured in Now That's What I Call Quality! 3 already on here, and I maintain that it's likely the best album the channel has yet put out in terms of raw concise quality on offer. Beautiful Dreamer, Initial Deluxe (I've Just Raced on this Course Before) and Owner of a Mahjong Board are all absolute highlights of Season 7, and it feels like the entire SiIvaGunner team came together to truly show the best of the best on the album. Yet beyond featuring classics from the Season that was then wrapping up, Now That's What I Call Quality! 3 also featured a good few rips that had yet to be uploaded to the YouTube channel - that is to say, some of the first-ever rips that you could consider to be part of Season 8. Its in this category that Nuclear Pomeranian finds itself in: the seventh rip of Rhythm Doctor makes an incredible first impression on what to expect from Season 8 in the months to come.
Honestly, it wasn't as if Half Pixel had to prove his prowess in creating these sorts of dense meme medleys: Since way back when I first heard Everybody's Special Course in Season 1, I'd known the guy had an undeniable knack for these sorts of rips. It may be coincidence, but it, Nuclear Pomeranian and Siiva Lining all just have this immense energy and adrenaline to them, a celebratory party atmosphere that never fails to bring a smile to my face. So then, I suppose Nuclear Pomeranian mainly shows just how much Half Pixel has grown as a ripper in those years, how many creative flourishes are added and implemented with complete confidence. The lyrical silliness in the opening is one of my favorite examples: transitioning Infinite's lyrics of "I am the last one that's standing, don't try and stand in my way" into a simple "okay" sound, followed by a response of "and now you're in my way" from Call Me Maybe. That's so fun! That has nothing to do with Rhythm Doctor, or SiIva's own memes, or Season 8 or anything, it's just a little bit of flavor added to the rip by Half Pixel to make it a funnier listen.
It goes through so many phases, yet compared to something like Memey Hell, it feels as if each part featured is allowed room to breathe in isolation from one another. Some of the sources. such as PSY's music, feel like they're subtly in the background almost throughout the whole rip, but segments focusing on just one source at a time feel like they strike such a perfect balance in terms of how long they're featured. The rip will for instance use Bo Burnham's Bezos I for a six second segment to give you just enough time to register the song as both funny and catchy in its context, before using a snappy Among Us sound effect break to transition into an equally-as-long segment using Boulevard of Broken Dreams, repeating the cycle. Much of that is of course owed to the structure of the original Bomb-Sniffing Pomeranian itself, but it's incredibly commendable just how well Half Pixel adapted that frantic, back-and-fourth pacing of the Rhythm Doctor song into such a different format. Very few of the sources, even when focused on as the sole joke for seconds at a time, are left completely unedited: small little quips from other sources, little interjections and pieces will play alongside or over the joke in focus, althewhile remaining completely harmonious.
I realize that a lot of what I'm describing is just the standard procedure on what to think of when creating a meme mashup medley like this in general, but what I'm aiming to say is that Nuclear Pomeranian is one of the best examples of how to do things right across the board. The amount of sources featured span across the channel's entire life, from the aforementioned PSY to appearances from Smooth of 【=3】e-MUNO Disco (vs. 音MAD AGENT) fame in Season 2, the Season 1 classic Chip the Ripper closing the rip off, the Big Chungus-posting of Season 4 Episode 2 and AIN'T NOTHIN' LIKE A CHUNKY BEAT, the Among Us posting of Season 5 and Among Drip Drop Galaxy, and oh so many more. Yet compared to something like, say, the Season premiere collabs such as Joke-Explainer™ 7000 Fusion Collab and Bramble Blast Collab, the rip doesn't place more emphasis on these nostalgic, well-remembered sources than anything else featured in its vast list of sources. SiIvaGunner classics or not, Half Pixel uses what sounds best and what's funniest at every possible moment to create a rip that works incredibly well even outside the context of the SiIvaGunner channel, as a huge tribute to Rhythm Doctor and the art of ripping itself.
Put concisely - Nuclear Pomeranian is a banger, and was a fantastic showcase of the level of quality that we've now seen many examples of in the last month and a half. The SiIvaGunner team is truly firing on all cylinders, and I'm all here for it.

american idiot! :3
Thanks Storm!! Also this is reminding me I really need to listen to this album again, I'll do that at work tomorrow!
1. Letterbomb (I just love Letterbomb, I've always loved Letterbomb sfm)
2. Jesus of Suburbia (I just love the super long several songs within a song. City of the Dead and Tales of Another Broken Home are probably my favourites. Just gonna ignore the unfortunate R slur 😬 guess it was 2004)
3. Wake Me Up When September Ends (still hits. I'm crying)
4. Boulevard of Broken Dreams (angst to the max we love)
5. Holiday (so good)
But honestly it's a perfect album!

shooter's vaporwave era
in 2020, a reddit user posted to r/vaporwave looking for the album "ecco jams 420" by ecco plus 척맨슨. the only evidence for this album even existing are four songs that have been uploaded to a youtube channel called "vvpor tv": "smoking room," "goodbye," "vice city," and "the price of morality." the rest of the album appears to be lost. the op of this reddit post says ecco jams 420 contained 12 or 17 tracks, one of which was a sped up version of "boulevard of broken dreams."
some claim ecco plus 척맨슨 was shooter, others claim that they were different people. aside from what is listed in this post, there's no information about ecco plus 척맨슨, so there's no way to tell. however, ecco plus 척맨슨 WAS on the bandcamp for a label called ax-rc, or axrecs. the reddit account u/shooterdude69 was used to promote shooter's music as school shooter, as well as music released on the ax-rc bandcamp.

When I was 6 and "Wake Me Up When September Ends" came out, my mom had just gotten satellite radio, and she accidentally set it up so that every time that song came on any channel, the radio would beep. We ended up getting so sick of that song!
And now I'm looking back on that as one of the first Green Day songs I liked (that and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams") and thinking how I never could have imagined them being my favorite band for the majority of my life up until now, and that that song would be on my favorite album of all time, and that one day I'd be standing there on one of the greatest nights of my life and singing along with the band and the crowd "twenty years has gone so fast." Because wow, that little kid hasn't existed in 20 years. And this song has been a big part of my life for 20 years.

song #46
Boulevard Of Broken Dreams by Hanoi Rocks
It was released in 1984 in their album Two Steps From The Move
youtube
Fun fact: "The song is about junk (drugs). Used to take 'em back in the day. It's about the illusions, with which it all starts, but eventually it leads to broken dreams, when you notice where using them has taken you." Reveals Andy McCoy (the lead guitarist) in a 1984 issue of Suosikki

American idiot was made because the band was considering breaking up and it was also about current politics like the Iraq war and 9/11. Billie, Mike and, Tre realized they had lots of fans who were teenagers and young adults and knowing that they knew they could give there opinions on the current situation and maybe change some people’s views
