sry im crossed but i was playing botw and thinking about Link being pregnant with Mipha's baby after his whole slumber. Link experiences his first trimester in the Eldin region, pitching in there, assuming he felt hot all the time due to the VOLCANO that he was hanging out by instead of a pregnancy
Link heads towards Rito Village when he starts to show, and both Teba and Saki know that he's pregnant before he even realizes it himself. they probably don't wanna send Link up to vah medoh but they don't have a choice. insert link with a cute five/six month bump in his rito garments and worrying over Tulin bc his instincts are kicking in
Link spends his last trimester in the desert, traveling towards Gerudo Town in hopes of getting in and getting advice for the end of his pregnancy and delivery. But, despite his state, Link is still a voe and not allowed within Gerudo Town. Cue Link in that DELICIOUS vai disguise with a beautiful round belly. Riju is the one to finally convince Link to go to Zora's Domain, though Link stubbornly helps with the yiga clan and vah naboris despite his state bc he's the hero of hyrule he's fine! hes totally fine! even though theres definitely a little Zora baby about to burst him at the seams but he's fine!
now by the time Link does get to Zora's Domain hes totally overdue. his trip to the domain along the path takes twice as long at least, bc he still insists he can fight but its not. y'know. his best work. and he can't move that fast. when he FINALLY gets there, muzu doesn't believe that this knocked up little twunk could POSSIBLY be the same guy Mipha was head over heels for. and in his state, Link can't put on the Zora armor Mipha made him bc of his belly. luckily by this point he goes into labor, and despite the bullshit muzu is going on about, all the Zora help Link deliver. it definitely takes a bit, even with Link's strength, because it's a royal Zora due to Mipha's heritage so it's larger than average. when it's all said and done, Link is holding a cute (not-so) little Zora baby that looks JUST like Mipha. Then I imagine Sidon looking at Muzu like "my dad is NEVER gonna let you hear the end of this one lmfao"

I've been hurrying to finish my Breath of the Wild playthrough, so I stopped off at Rito Village to get the Great Eagle Bow again and I happened to run into Saki and I like her, so I talked to her to see what she had to say

And uh…. Hoo boy, this dialogue hits different knowing what happens to Tulin in the sequel 😬

Don't ask, but a minor incident at the flight range may have happened and my beautiful beak has a small chip in it.
I need you to fix it at once. I cannot possibly go around looking so shoddy. Ugh it whistles when I breathe.
Do you still repair them by welding hot pieces of metal into the crack like they did back in my day or is there a more elegant way tp fix it in this day and age? Either way don't bother with anesthesia I can take the pain, just get it over with quickly before someone sees me like this. Godess forbid.
Revali.....
How did you even chip your beak?
Nevermind, we use a special filling than will take the place of the chip, after an hour or two it will be hard as a rock. Smoothing and shaping it will be uncomfortable and it will take getting used to.
We stopped using the metal mending fifty years ago Revali

You know what would have made for an interesting interaction? Tulin, Teba, and Saki reacting to Link literally losing one of his arms. I always found it odd that Tulin being the young, blunt and curious type, or Teba the incredibly blunt one, never once question what happened to Link's arm. Like hello, your treasured Hylian companion (and possibly adopted son) disappeared and then showed up sporting a very alien looking arm.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Link buddy one arm’s worth of fur will not help against -50 degree weather and mountain winds
But yeah, I honestly think they’d be concerned at first but he’d be like “time god donated it after demon god borrowed it” and they’d accept that

Very dumb BOTW AU idea with Dad Teba.
Link wakes up early from the shrine of resurrection Zelda doesn’t notice as not expecting him to wake up for good few years, Link somehow ends up at Rito village with no memories and no idea what’s happening.
Teba finds him and is like ‘Whose feral child is this?welp guess mine now’
Link spends years in Rito village until when he was actually meant to wake up.
Zelda communicating with the shrine of resurrection only to find it empty 'you must save hyrule you..Link?...Link?...WHERE IS HE? ‘
Link eventually finds out about his mission and that he is the champion
Teba: No way you can’t go fight the divine beasts that would be insane!
Saki:…
Saki:Yes! Who would be stupid enough to do that
Teba:…um
Link frees Vah Medoh and realises he has to defeat Gannon and doesn’t want his dad to get hurt again so he goes off alone…. Or he thinks alone Tulin snuck into his pack. He wanted to help.
He and Sidon have the my big sibling is the best competition, and the I’m Link biggest fan competition.
Saki and Teba figure out their kids have gone off and so they go off after them.
Link is fighting another Divine beast
Link: Oh man I am dead
Saki in the distance: YOUNG MAN YOU ARE SO GROUNDED
Link:…
Link:OH I am actually dead
Mad Mom is much angrier than divine beasts or any of the blights
Revalink Bonus: Link gets his memories back/remembers feelings for Revali (Now that he knows more Rito customs and a better understanding realises Revali was flirting/courting him)
Teba finds out and is now trying to figure out how to give a shovel talk to someone whose already dead?
Bonus: Revali comes back and doesn’t realise link knos all the rito customs and so starts doing courting stuff and doesn’t realise Link knows what he’s doing now

What are your thoughts on Tulin and Link's relationship, especially with the general notion that Tulin and Link have a brother like dynamic?
Can you also share your thoughts in regards to Link having a better relationship with Tulin than Revali, despite Tulin being of the same race as the Rito champion, and Tulin seeing Link as role model more than Revali?
I've been asked a similar question to this before, this time however I can give a more in depth answer having done recent reruns of the games, as well as delving into the characters more, instead of a brief answer.
When it comes to the question of who Tulin would end up having a closer relationship with, ultimately it would end up being Link, despite Revali's influence on the Rito for several reasons. I'll also be including the meeting Tulin had with Revali in Age of Calamity for fairness to explain these reasons.
First of let's look at it this way, around the time of Tears of the Kingdom, when all is said and done, you'd have to remember by that point several years have passed since Breath of Wild, and a lot has happened. Particularly Link has been quite active with his interactions with those he met in Breath of the Wild, and has spent quite a lot of time with them. Where not talking days, weeks, or months here. We're talking years, and we know Link has spent that amount of time interacting with Teba's family, Tulin included. Link quite literally helped train Tulin alongside Teba which were informed of in Tears of the Kingdom. Heck in Breath of the wild, Teba earnestly requests that Link becomes a role model for Tulin, and as Tears of the Kingdom showed he most definitely did become one for him.
Now in Age of Calamity, Tulin does get to meet Revali, and his interactions with him are very heart-warming. For all intents and purposes Tulin is basically meeting the pride of the Rito in the flesh, which let's be honest, is any fledgling Rito's dream come true, I wouldn't blame Tulin for wanting to be just like him when he grows up. However the key thing here is time. Considering what's happening in the game, you know with the world almost ending and all that, I doubt Tulin would have been able to spend a lot with Revali, or really anyone there, at best the meeting would have had to have been brief, not really enough time to establish some kind of incredibly close relationship, if you remove Revali's status out of the equation.
However in Link's regard he's had more than enough time to establish that kind of relationship with Tulin. Again we're talking years here, not just a brief meeting, and it shows in Tears of the Kingdom. Not only that you also have to bare mind, that in Botw, Link not only accomplishes the same feats as Revali even going through same trials as him, he also succeeds where he failed, Saves Rito Village from Vah Medoh, is intrusted for a time the Great Eagle Bow as no Rito at that point could even use it, gets in very good graces with all of the Rito there, which ends with Teba then going on to tell Tulin many great things about Link behind the scenes, to the point where you can't downplay your achievements to Tulin because he will call you out on it. When you take all this into account, it's not surprising to see why Tulin would end up seeing Link as more of a role model than Revali, despite how the Rito's viewed him. Furthermore it's also perfectly understandable why Tulin would end up developing a brother like relationship with Link because of how much time he's spent with him. Where talking from a fledgeling to an adolescent in Rito years.
Plus it's also worth mentioning in Breath of the Wild Revali laments at that point in time there's barely anyone alive who even knows/remembers him, and in Tears of the Kingdom, he's never even mentioned once. Aside from a few individuals, he's pretty much kind of faded from history, which can't be said for Link, who is not only actively present, all of Hyrule knows who he is and of his accomplishments by then. The interactions with the Rito from Breath of the Wild to Tears of the Kingdom is significantly different. Harth talks to you with a lot more familiarity, trust and respect, and interaction with other Rito's like Saki, make it very apparent they're very well accounted with Link.
Now in the scenario where Revali was brought back to life around the time of Tears of the Kingdom. As much as Revali means to the Rito, I highly doubt that his presence would just invalid the relationship that Link would have built up with Tulin over the course of several years. Rito Champion or not, Revali isn't just going to suddenly become everyone's favourite just like that, especially when it comes to relationships, nor is he suddenly going to become Tulin's role model when Link has already been established as such, which happened over the course of several years. Will Revali be able to get along with Tulin? More than likely. Will Tulin suddenly like him more due to him being the Rito Champion? Highly unlikely.
You have to remember as much as Teba respected Revali, he wasn't blind to his flaws and attitude, especially when it came to how he treated Link, and it's highly unlikely Tulin would be blind to those flaws. If anything Tulin would probably be very upfront with how he feels about Revali, if he said anything to slight Link.
In conclusion, yes, despite Revali being the Rito champion, and meaning a lot to the Rito as a whole, Tulin would still have a much closer relationship with Link, as Link has not only spent a lot more time with him, he's also played an active role in his life, while spending a great deal of time with his family of the course of several years.

Good Evening Saki,
Since the Village is beginning to decorate for the season of winters crest, I felt it was time I begin planning for Christmas in this new age.
Back in my own time I was quite used to spending the season alone training in the mountains to sharpen my skills while others were lazing about singing songs and celebrating. I lost my parents fairly early on in life and felt that a family-based holiday such as this was simply unrelated and pointless to me.
However, Tulin the other day asked me what I was getting him and he seemed remarkably upset when I informed him the answer was nothing as I was going to leave over the holiday season to give you and your family space to celebrate together without my intrusion.
I feel...a touch guilty for upsetting the boy, so perhaps I could...drop by with a present for him? If I wasn't intruding, of course. I do not wish to interrupt your family's traditions. I can just leave it at the door if you'd prefer.
Admittedly I've never had to aquire anybody a Christmas present before and I'm particularily unsure where to start. The boy already has a decent bow and enough arrows to last a lifetime - what more could he need? I considered providing him with some high power explosives but I expect you may disapprove of such a gift. Some marbles perhaps?? Do children of this age still play with marbles? They were all the rage when I was a boy, I have no idea what fledglings enjoy now days. Are yoyos still 'cool'?
I know that the winter celebrations are most important to people and I respect that you and Teba likely feel uncomfortable bringing up my invasive presence roosting with your family like an overgrown fledgling without their own nest, so I want you to know that I am perfectly used to spending the season elsewhere, I'm certain I can locate a suitable roost somewhere out of your way, it is what I have always done. All I request is that you inform me whether you would like me to leave before Christmas eve or just for the day - and whether you'd prefer I keep my distance until the new year or whether it is acceptable for me to return for the fleeting days of December?
Revali. Teba and I expected you to stay in for the holidays, please don't feel the need to stay away. I speak for both Teba and Tulin when I say I hope you chose to join us for Christmas and New years. However if you don't want to stay you do not have to, it is entirely your choice Revali. (However I will be making honey candy, I believe I found a useable recipe)
In today's society wooden toys are popular, young girls play with wooden dolls and boys with wood horses, Tulin's last one broke the day he got it. So I'd recommend getting him something durable.
I will be buying him paints for him to use, so if you do he could decorate it as he pleases. Maybe that will help him to be more careful with it.
