i was gonna ask if there was a dragon design in the show that is everyone’s favorite but then i remembered we’re getting tessarion and maybe dreamfyre so i’ll hold off. tbh i really love arrax even tho he’s only there for 2 seconds before he gets chomped, i liked his color. i hope we get a better look at silverwing bc i think she could take it, i love that she doesn’t have that old dragon gullet thing, i think it’s kinda funny. i wish we had more sunfyre i don’t think we really got a proper look at him. i think i liked sunfyre’s noises the best tho. special shout out caraxes for a cute ass noodle boy tho

Deathzazz was half a beautifully written analysis about how adult abuse survivors often find themselves trapped in similar abusive relationships as adults if they are unable to resolve their trauma and tend to still idolize both their abusers and the people similar to their abusers. The other half was hot garbage and easily the worst shit in the show.

Here's a question for the rest of you:

How do you experience joy? What does it feel like for you?

Because I'm realizing that I experience other types of happiness - mirth at good humor, delight at things that invoke secondary feelings like wonder or awe or that are just very charming, tranquility when things are (at least for the moment) calm and I am able to be content - but joy, enduring simcha?

I'm not sure I've actually ever experienced that, at least not in a way I can articulate.

If you do, how does it feel?

Love how Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog is written off as the "haha stupid slapstick" show when it's also the one that is very aware that Sonic & Tails were homeless children who dealt with food insecurity as a result.

#like that's actual dialogue . . . i didn't make this up #granted the whole episode is - as usual - treated with a lot of levity & this isn't addressed but like #the main conceit of the episode is Tails is so hungry that he just keeps eating everything in sight even *before* Robotnik turns him into a #giant. meanwhile Sonic just sits back & watches bc he wants his li'l bro to get his belly full first #even before he eats anything himself :') even tho he has to be hungry too bc they were BOTH missing meals #jeez. the problem with adventure time is that i am so deadly serious about it and how good i think it is so it is difficult to have casual conversations about it without delving into my personal philosophies about the meaning of life and what we owe to each other and ourselves etc etc etc. cannot be normal

#sure its a funny silly show but its about life death the universe and everything in between #and it manages to grapple with extremely complex and emotional topics in ways that leave you feeling both meloncholy but also… ready?#to confront yourself and your place in the universe. u kno #at least. thats how i feel about it LOL #i’m not talking season one or even two but that doesn’t negate the vaue those seasons provide as set dressing and emotional tone. etc #to me adventure time is less about the characters (although it is certainly about them)#and more about painting a vast and nuanced portrain of a fantastical universe that gives life and humor to abstract ideas and feelings #it teaches you how to sit with them. and make peace and grow and change and love etc etc YOU KNOW !!#the love that went into creating it is so palpable with each and every episode #also that post going around about how having to shoehorn in a moral lesson is a major problem woth the artistic integrity of many kids shows #adventure time does not have that problem.#it proposes ideas ? but it takes characters entire seasons #years even #to learn from their mistakes. anyway #adventure time

i loved romantic killer with all my heart and am hoping it gets another season but it still literally feels like a bilibili comedy donghua with a japanese netflix budget

#i said it on priv but both hanhua riji and liang bu yi have the same amt of crack with half the animation budget #given liang bu yi isnt modern slice of life it still has the humor of a modern slice of life #like the amount of fake ads at the end #yes rk gets serious around the end parts of the season starting from saki's episode #but if it had just been a serious high school anime like that i probably wouldnt have given it a chance #rk at its core will always be a crack-y romcom even with the serious topics
