So I just went rollerskating (gave up immediately), and on my way there I thought of an interesting idea: modern setting (or not, anything can happen in Kuro after all), and Alois and Ciel are like “my demon is better than yours” and all that and decide to pit the two against one another in a rollerskating race.
#despite the absurd conditions of this scenario it’s actually a character study#both demons are impeccable at everything they do so I guess it starts on an actual track but soon one more in the natural environments#and by that I mean on highway cliffs and shit#i can also imagine sebastian putting on elbow pads and and a helmet and everything#and claude’s just like ‘but. we’re demons. we don’t need that’ and seb’s just grinning smugly at him with a cool counter argument#and so before we know it claude’s groaning and putting them on too#maybe character study in the sense that ciel’s like ‘oh don’t put claude into too much of an early grave yet’#but alois is like ‘annihilate him claude!!’#and something happens where claude almost like falls to his ‘death’ or something (or something significantly bad#that pulls even sebastian out of his theatrics/the competition)#and sebastian saves him maybe under the guise of his orders and ‘what kind of race would it be’ blah blah blah#and then towards the end claude returns the favour after it looks like he isn’t going to#showing his deception of alois’ order#maybe because he likes sebastian? maybe#anyway now i tag:#black butler#kuroshitsuji#black butler ii#kuroshitsuji ii#claude faustus#sebastian michaelis#claudebastian#claude x sebastian#seblaude#sebastian x claude#ciel phantomhive#alois trancy#character study#null’s fic made me want to revisit kuro ii and I can’t because I’m out but I know that if I was ‘in’ I wouldn’t be watching it#original post

Best IF blogs to follow? Either sexy WIPs or just people posting about them generally.
before i actually answer this i need you to know i have like 54 tabs open in my phone right now and every single one of them that isn't the tab i do browsing in is an if.
THAT SAID, apart from @interact-if i don't think i follow any blogs that are specifically geared toward interactive fiction, but that's a great place to start!
without further rambling ado, some recs -
the porthecrawl witness by @porthecrawl-witness - we love us some time shenanigans in insular little towns, tbh. real melancholy undertones but without feeling abject or unhopeful? dig it.
diaspora by @diasporatheblog - genuinely stressful political intrigue couched in impeccable worldbuilding and some of the warmest characters and relationships i've encountered in IF? just. love the hell out of diaspora. also long. if you want to spend a solid Many Hours just basking in a well-developed world, diaspora is for you.
the golden rose by @anathemafiction - i am SO jazzed for the golden rose to come out my dudes i don't even have words. just like, the most charming experience. anachronistic history, i guess? can't wait to learn more about this world.
wayfarer by @idrellegames - the variation in this game? so much fun to explore, so many aspects of character development. fuckin love it. i have a lot of emotions and it's only been like.... half of a chapter.
speaker by @speakergame - desperate seer vibes, loving but exasperating family vibes, found extra family vibes???? love everything about speaker.
bad ritual by @heart-forge - do love a story the premise for which is just sort of a series of "aw, fuck"s and what you're gonna do about 'em. bonus giant, extremely loveable demons. shoutout also to manor hill and hybrid, both super cool projects.
virtue's end by @crimsiswrites - undergoing rewrites atm, and i'm full of excite. have determined that slightly baffled and full of monster is my new favorite character dynamic.
lost birds by @if-lostbirds - very brief demo at the moment, but holy shit the desolate vibes.
the remainder by @the-remainder - art and vibes IMPECCABLE. big old questions of identity and self via some ill-timed (self-inflicted?) amnesia.
body count by @bodycountgame - realtalk i wasn't super interested in this concept when it first came across my recs, but oh my god, dudes. the characters and writing are so endearing and i can't wait to see where it goes even though it's gonna hurt.
when it hungers by @roast-ifs - i have a thing for characters rebuilding life around trauma and lost memories, if that wasn't like. glaringly and painfully obvious. BIG THAT, here.
OFNA: birds of a feather by @ofna - i just really, really like birds. and liars.
project hadea by @nyehilismwriting - obviously i have been failing to summarize anything about any of these games, but i WILL say that any chance to play an idiot determined only to have their ass handed to them before the story really starts, i will take. project hadea def let me fulfill that impulse. sentinel is also so, so worth it.
larkin by @larkin-if - cowboys and vampires. 'nuff said.
faith of gods by @faithofgods - haven't had time to play through all of the recent update so i have NO idea what's going on, but u know what. character interactions are choice. and also fraught with unease.
blood moon by @barbwritesstuff - i love these werewolves. every single goddamn one of them. ALSO could not love the full moon updates more, like what a thing.
the northern passage by @northern-passage - i am so fucking enamored of these characters and this story, dude. the writing is gorgeous and i feel Very Many Both Painful and Wonderful Things about it that i don't really have the brain to express, but hh. tnp my beloved.
the nameless by @parkerlyn - LADS, this worldbuilding. the sheevra are a very cool play on fae tropes and mythos and i am here for it.
mind blind by @mindblindbard - did i mention i'm mildly obsessed with guilt and the process of overcoming that hugely traumatic thing, because i AM and i was NOT expecting that to be such an intense theme in this slice-of-life (trauma included) romp through psych-powered chicago. you're allowed to not play as an idiot, too, which is okay i guess.
event horizon by @if-eventhorizon - there are some very intense and difficult themes happening in this wip straight out of the gate on some paths (memory loss, loss of self, lots of trauma processing in a space NOT made for the processing of trauma), but i'm impressed with how they're handled and also already woefully attached to thirteen, to the surprise of no one.

Beautiful madness.
1.
Waverly left the Vera-Vaughn-Greenwood manor moments later, promising Abby to reach out as soon as her daughter was in safety and that she gathered some more information on the artifact Abigael was looking for.
It let an odd feeling in the Demon Overlord mind, like a blur she couldn’t quite figured out. After a lifetime of loneliness, hatred and resentment, here she was, making plan with her long lost sister to burglarize the only antique allowing her to restore Macy’s fire power. A step closer to her long journey to redemption.
Will she even get there someday?
Lost in her own torturous thoughts, the British Lady didn’t hear the witch that changed her whole perspective, talking to her.
“Abby?” Mel repeated, a concerned frown marking her face.
No answer. So the witch held out her hand and took one of Abigael’s in her own trying again “Abby, are you okay?”
It worked. The Demon Overlord seemed to get out of her hypnotic state, looking at their joined hands. Eyes fascinated; like it was the most precious thing in the world. Suddenly something must have clicked in her because in a movement of panic she brutally let go of Mel’s hand and took two steps back.
“Have this unannounced pregnancy made you lost your mind as well as your memory? What about theallergy, Mel?” Abby asked in an irritated tone but the concern was crystal clear for the Vera sister.
Mel voice was soft when she simply replied “Shush it, demon spawn!”.She then closed the distance between them and took both of Abigael’s hands in hers. “See? Baby and I are good! Don’t worry.” Her smile grew some more at Abby’s awe.
“But- How?” it was so quiet that Mel almost missed it.
“I’m not really sure, but it must be the baby.”
Abigael said nothing. Eyes glued to their hands as their fingers intertwined. They stayed silent for some times. Abby didn’t dare to move an inch, a bit scared that the moment might end. For her part, Mel attentively observed The Demon Overlord’s expression the entire time. She would be lying if she said that nothing in her was liking the way Abby was looking so adoringly at their joined hands. But then, their eyes locked and Abigael had that same look on her face than the one she had when Mel asked her if she was doing this just to make amends with Macy. They were telling more than what Abby was actually able or willing to say. In that instant, everything around them ceased to exist. They were so close that Mel’s round belly touched the half-demon half-witch front. Abby wouldn’t do anything unless she was certain of Mel’s consent and for now she wouldn’t ask

Minutes passed by and still, they were looking at each, like it was the first time they actually saw one another. Without fuss. Without judgment. Mel’s heartbeat went crazy, she couldn’t clearly figured out what it was that made her breathless, but she let herself be lost in those hazel eyes that she learned to appreciate more than she should have.
Stuck, neither of the two women knew how to act around each other in this private moment, so Abby decided to crack a snarky remark to ease whatever was going on.
“Careful there Potion Princess, one might think that you want to steal a kiss from The Demon Overlord!” Abigael said on that tone that drove Mel mad. So she rolled her eyes in exasperation, but kept her hands firmly in the British Lady ones. Then a smirk appeared on her lips when she just retorted to that flirty comment with a sultry tone.
“What if it’s exactly what I want to do?”
She then started to caress Abby’s knuckles softly while The Demon Overlord lost her voice once again. She just kept those eyes on Mel’s, more piercing than ever. And Mel finally get what Abigael meant by “I care deeply about her” when the truth serum kicked in at her trial
Just like that, her heart stopped beating at the realization. Abigael didn’t care about her in a weird frenemy way. No. It was deeper. She cared about her in a romantic way. Everything kind of fell in place. “Our child”resonated in her head. How could she missed it? The change in the woman behavior before her, how she just stopped having one night stands and orgy with Susans. Yes, plural. How didn’t she saw it sooner? How her relationship with Abigael Jameson-Caine had grown and how close they had become.
After all, a few hours back, she confessed to the woman how scared of failing her baby she was. And in all of her softness Abigael find the right words to wipe away her doubts. She didn’t laugh, didn’t used this knowledge to make a sarcastic comment. She just comforted her.
And now Mel’s mind went crazy. Loaded with questions she didn’t wanted to acknowledge till now. What did she felt for the half-witch half-demon herself?
She cared about her, a lot. A lot more than she thought she actually did. But Ruby. Mel loved Ruby. They had been through so much and still, they were together. Stronger than ever. That was what the witch was thinking. What she was feeling. And yet, she couldn’t stopped herself to wonder who was the baby’s other mother?
Abigael kept her lips sealed at first, but after some times she titled her head slightly to the side a bit worried about Mel’s own thoughts.
“Are you alright Angry Spice?” gently tightening the hands in hers.
Mel took one last look in The Demon Overlord’s eyes and give her a small smile before letting go of her grip on Abigael, who already missed the contact she craved.
“Yeah. I’m a bit tired I guess with, you know, the baby, the demon, meeting your sister.” It wasn’t a lie, she was kind of exhausted of the day, but it wasn’t the entire truth.
“If I had known about your impromptu pregnancy Mel, I would not have come bothering you asking for your assistance when danger was involved. I swear.” The hybrid stated embarrassed.
“I know Abby. As you said at the door earlier, my sisters and I are usually the ones running to you for help. I’m glad you came and trusted me enough to introduce me to your sister and let me help you.” The Latina responded. “And, for what it worth, I’m proud of you Abby.”
“It worth more than you know.” Abigael smiled with her eyes. “I should go and let you rest then. You are, after all, bearing a tiny human in that belly of yours. Thank you again, for you help. I’ll see you Potion Princess”.
The Demon Overlord started phase-shifting when Mel gently wrapped her fingers around Abigael’s left wrist. She blocked her power and waited patiently for Mel to pursue what she had on her mind.
“Thank you for the crib and for those things you said about me having what it takes to be a good mom.” Mel really appreciated this reassurance the hybrid provided her.
“Well, you have nothing to thank me for. It’s all you Melanie.” She winked at the Vera witch and disappeared in a dark smoke.
Mel stayed in the middle of the room, closed her eyes, and let out a breath she didn’t remember holding back.
*****************
That night, Mel hadn’t slept a minute. Sure, when her sisters came home and told her all about The Whispering Evil, her freak out level went high. But if she was being honest with herself (which she usually is) her mind was preoccupied by all the questions she had about a certain brunette. “Ugh! Damn you Abigael Jameson-Caine!” she muffled in her pillow. She decided to go to the kitchen and for a drink, maybe that Valerian tea Waverly highly recommended her.
Then cup in hands, the witch sat on the couch in the living room. The one Abby slept on, when her demonic form tried to get rid of her. Sighing for thinking yet again of The Demon Overlord, the Vera witch took her phone and looked at the time. 3:00 AM. “How fitting!” she exhaled. She quickly taped a text to her girlfriend. Thirty minutes later, Ruby still hadn’t responded. “I guess some have less troubles to find sleep than others” Mel spoke a bit bored. Before she could changed her mind and against her better judgment, the witch decided to text Abigael.
3:33 AM – Potion Princess : Are you awake?
A minute later, dots appeared on Mel’s screen indicating that the hybrid was typing.
3:34 AM – Demon Spawn : No. I am actually asleep.
Mel rolled her eyes and cracked a smile at this response.
3:35 AM – Potion Princess : So
How are you able to answer my text if you’re asleep?
3:35 AM – Demon Spawn : My subconscious is especially productive at this time of night.
3:35 AM – Demon Spawn : I had some business to attend actually. Why are you awake?
3:36 AM – Potion Princess : Business? In the middle of the night? I can’t sleep.
3:36 AM – Demon Spawn : The perks of being The Demon Overlord if I may say. Is everything alright? Is our baby keeping you up that late?
The witch scrutinized her screen for a good minute, particularly those two words “our baby”. Again, Mel’s heart just stopped beating in her chest and she felt her cheeks burning. She debated with herself on how to answer properly.
3:38 AM – Potion Princess : Well, you’re the one that claimed the title
So, suck it up and deal with it! ;). Our baby uh? How did you come by this conclusion? But no, it’s not the baby that keeps me from sleeping. I just got a lot on my mind I guess.
Abby’s text was nothing but fast.
3:38 AM – Demon Spawn : You’re so sarcastic at this hour of the night. It’s quite delightful. Is there something you want to talk about? Maybe I can be of some sorts of assistance?
Mel didn’t missed how Abigael just eluded a part of her text.
3:40 AM – Potion Princess : You should go to bed. It’s late and your day was longer than mine apparently...
3:40 AM – Demon Spawn : Nonsense.
And just like that, Abigael appeared in the middle of the Vera-Vaughn-Greenwood living room, wearing a black trousers and a garnet satin shirt with a cleavage that left not much to imagination. Her hair were impeccable (as usual), and she wear those discrete gold hearings. She was still wearing her make-up. Mel glanced at her guest a little too long to go unnoticed by Abigael who just smirked at her when sitting next to the witch.
“So Velma Dinkley, what in that little head of yours prevents you to fall asleep?” Abby asked softly.
Melanie Vera rarely panicked at the thought of talking about feelings. Not with her sisters. Not with Harry. Not with Ruby. Ruby her girlfriend if she hadn’t mentioned it. But now, in front of one Abigael Jameson-Caine, she would gladly take off in a heartbeat. Also, she knew that if she wasn’t having this conversation, she’ll be self-deprived of sleep for the rest of her life. So, here she was

“You, actually.” She confessed when meeting the half-demon half-witch eyes.
Abigael’s smirk was so infuriating, Mel already knew what was coming for her next.
“Having naughty thoughts about us?” Abby couldn’t bring herself to not take the bait on this one which just made her host rolled her eyes even more exasperatedly.
“Abby! Can you stop please. I’m trying to have a serious conversation here.” the Latina said. Because having this particular talk at almost 4 in the morning was the responsible thing to do. Good job, Mel.
The British Lady took one look into the Vera sister eyes to know that this conversation was important to her. So, she clenched her jaw, and silently promised herself to do her best.
“I apologize. What about me, Potion Princess?” She asked curiously facing the Charmed One.
“We never spoke about what you said during the trial
” Damn it! She completely sucked at starting this topic.
“Oh, you mean when Perky Peanut gave me truth serum against my will and so forced me to answer truthfully at questions I would have rather lied about?” A hint of resentment was obvious in her tone.
Mel put a hand on Abigael’s forearm to soothe her. It seemed to work, because the hybrid closed her eyes for a second before pursuing.
“I imagine you want to have a conversation about what I said about you, isn’t it?” She didn’t dare to look at Mel.
“Yes.” the witch whispered. “Did you meant what you said?”
Abby laughed at that. It wasn’t a full laugh, but still, the Latina hadn’t heard her guest laughed a lot.
“Mel, you do know how truth serum works, right?” The British Lady furrowed her brow in question.
“Yeah I do, but you know what I meant.” Melanie replied as if the question was crystal clear.
“So, what you truly asked was if I still mean it right now?” Really, she guessed her best.
The witch only nodded in approval.
“Well, in all honesty, it is a question that is hard to answer to.” The Demon Overlord observed Mel’s reaction.
“How come?” Mel simply asked, when she could heard the frantic beating of her heart in her chest.
Abigael gave her a small smile, one that would be imperceptible for a stranger.
“I do not know any words that would reflect what you mean to me, Melanie.” Again, the witch heart skipped a beat at the use of her first name. “I do not know when neither do I know how you became such an important part of my life but every chance I get to spend time with you I learn to know why.” She paused to gather her thoughts. “So yes, Melanie Vera, I care deeply about you. More than I ever cared about anyone to this day. Really, I just want you to be healthy, to be happy.” Mel sat still, incapable of breathing, too struck by Abby’s confession, by the vulnerability that she was showing to her. Speechless. “And, don’t be mistaken, I expect nothing from you. I would not dream of it. I know my place and how unworthy I am to ever be a part of your happiness. I woul-”.
The half-demon half-witch was cut off by a pair of lips on her own. Surprised, she closed her eyes and kissed Mel back. It was gentle, like caressing velour for the first time. They were both afraid that the moment was in fact a dream. Then the witch place a final peck on Abby’s lips before retreating.
“Sorry, I didn’t asked for you consent.” Mel whispered.
“For this? You always have it.” Abby replied softly. “Will my answer be of any help?”
“I’m sure it will. Thank you for being honest.” The Vera sister replied, even though she wanted to say more.
“Alright, I leave you to it then. Have a good night, Melanie.” The British Lady focused on Mel’s eyes.
“Goodnight, Abigael. And again, thank you.” The which said just before a cloud of dark smoke made her guest disappeared.
Mel didn’t slept better after that. Her lips haunted by Abby’s and the taste of her tongue against hers.
It’s 8 AM sharp when she got a text from Ruby. And then, a storm was raging within the witch heart.

Kisses Under the Mistletoe:   (Formerly) Undateables Edition
I’m enjoying these mistletoe kisses headcanons too much, I should have started earlier. I’m trying to get a few more festive pieces written before Christmas, and hopefully some for New Years (intermittent inernet problems permitting). And make this place a bit prettier.
Diavolo
When Diavolo called for you to visit his office you thought you were prepared for just about anything, after all you’d had plenty of experience of his eccentricities and whims at this point.
So when he started grilling you on festive traditions in the human world while you sat beside him at his desk you weren’t exactly surprised, although the breadth of the information he’d gathered to grill you on was a little overwhelming.
You almost felt bad admitting you weren’t particularly familiar with the festival of Saturnalia, partly because of the way Diavolo’s face fell and partly because it sounded wild.
As you progressed through various traditions you grew more and more comfortable, shedding the usual layer of formality that being in Diavolo’s presence seemed to make you grow, adding your own anecdotes about traditions you followed personally.
He’s writing things down, and you assume, making plans for some kind of festive celebration in the Devildom. It’s all so normal you let your guards down, and as such, get blindsided by his next question.
“What about mistletoe? What is the importance of mistletoe?”
You blink a few times, trying to get the cogs in your brain to function properly. “Oh, um, it’s become tradition to kiss under mistletoe. I think it’s supposed to bring luck
”
Diavolo frowns, retrieving something from his drawer and holding it out to you to inspect. “Then perhaps I should ask Asmodeus why he gifted me this?”
You’re staring at the mistletoe like it’s going to jump out and bite you. (Stranger things have happened in the Devildom, even if this particular plant looks pretty harmless).
“Oh!” Diavolo beams in a way that worries you. “I suppose we should kiss now!”
y/n.exe has stopped working
“I
I can’t! Lucifer would kill me! I mean, you’re the Future King and I’m just
 me?”
Diavolo frowns and for a moment you see your life flash before your eyes. If for no other reason than Lucifer is probably going to murder you for upsetting his Lord.
“But, y/n, I would like to kiss you if you would let me.” He’s still grinning mischievously but his eyes are soft with affection. “You’re special y/n. And if Lucifer shouts we can just tell him it was my idea, he rarely shouts at me.”
Your cheeks are on fire but you nod, letting Diavolo cup your face between two large hands and press his lips to yours. The kiss is warm and gentle, almost chaste. He kisses you like he’s afraid he’ll break you, and to be fair he probably could, but it leaves you heart racing and lips tingling when he pulls away.
Barbatos
It’s only been two days and Barbatos would very much like to find out who exactly told his Lord all about human festive traditions, in particular who gave him a record of ‘festive’ music. He just wants to talk. (Not that he would ever say this to Diavolo, he is an impeccable butler after all).
You had been roped in to coming to the castle to help with the decorations, but as you wandered past the kitchen with a box of tinsel and baubles you heard a tired sigh that sounded awfully familiar.
Popping your head through the door you spot Barbatos frowning at a mixing bowl.
“Everything alright in here?”
Barbatos never jumps at anything, but his eyes do look a fraction wider than usual when he turns to look at you.
“Perhaps you could assist me? Lord Diavolo asked me to make a ‘Christmas Cake’, if you’re familiar I could use your expertise. I’m not as experienced with baking human world delicacies.”
You grin, stepping inside and settling your box down on an unused counter and heading to his side to help. “There are some things even you don’t know?” You laugh softly, looking down at the mixing bowl. “It’s been a while since I made one, but I can try to help? The secret to my grandma’s recipe was usually a lot of alcohol though, she’d bake it months in advance and keep topping it up...”
The two of you bake together, and if Barbatos notices the pink flush on your cheeks whenever your body bruises against his, or when he wipes flour from your cheek, he is polite enough not to mention it.
You’ve just put the cake in the oven when Barbatos moves over to the forgotten box of decorations, rifling through curiously before pulling something out.
“Y/N, are there supposed to be plants in here?”
You walk over to see what he’s talking about just as Lord Diavolo walks in with a beaming smile.
“Y/N! Here you are! Oh, I know what that is!” He’s gesturing to what you now realise is mistletoe dangling between Barbatos’ gloved fingers. “That’s mistletoe, Asmodoeus and Solomon were telling me all about it. You’re supposed to kiss under it for luck!”
You’re making up a plan to murder your friends for teaching Diavolo about this while Barbatos studies you thoughtfully.
“If you’ll allow me?”
His voice startles you and you look back up at him for a moment before the words register. You just managed to squeak out a yes before he kisses you and you almost feel your soul ascend out of your body. Barbatos’ kiss is precise and practiced in a way that reminds you just how many more centuries of experience he has on you.
There’s nothing obscene or improper about the kiss, but when you pull away you’re feeling lightheaded and a little weak in the knees. Barbatos smiles just a little before turning back to Diavolo.
“Now, about the cake my lord.”
Simeon
Simeon, unlike the demons, seems to be at least somewhat aware of human world festive celebrations. Some of his knowledge is a bit out of date, but he’s better at this than you expected.
By the time you get to Purgatory hall the place is already pretty well decorated, the decorations lean more towards the religious but you still find tinsel and even a few paper snowflakes dotted here and there.
Simeon greets you as you enter their main common area with a beatific smile and an excited wave. “Oh Y/N, Solomon said there was something I should show you.”
You follow him, only a little wary, Solomon might cause trouble on occasion but Simeon is usually not involved. Usually.
He stops in one of the doorways that you’re pretty sure you’ve never been near before. In fact the corridor behind it looks pretty much unused. It doesn’t bode well for this being entirely innocent, though at least with Simeon involved it’s probably safe.
Coming to a halt he gestures up and you look up towards a sprig of mistletoe hanging in the doorway. Which would explain why it was so far from the frequently used areas of the halls. You smile softly, shifting your gaze from the mistletoe to Simeon.
“Solomon told you to show me this hmm?” You grin, noting the way Simeon’s eyes flick away from yours. “Did he tell you why?”
“Maybe he mentioned it, maybe he didn’t.”
You laugh, looping your arms around his neck and pulling him in for a kiss that leaves you both breathless and flustered. For all he is an angel, Simeone seems to know an awful lot about kissing and how to do it so you’re weak in the knees.
“You know, if you wanted to kiss me you only had to ask.”
“But this seemed seasonally appropriate.” He hums, gently stroking your hair.
“Very seasonally appropriate. And I guess we don’t need to worry about Luke wandering up here and scolding us.” You laugh, kissing his cheek softly.
“Ah yes, that too.”
Solomon
Any mistletoe shenanigans are entirely Solomon’s own doing and he knows exactly what he’s up to.
He’s been helping you with your magical studies recently, much to Satan’s chagrin, and this evening you decided to study in the House of Lamentation in front of the warmth of the fire.
The night starts wearing on and after a few hours of study you’re getting restless. Solomon pauses to glance over at you and sighs. He knows as well as you do that you’re no longer taking this in.
“Shall we take a break?”
You sigh in relief. “Please? I can make us some tea.”
He nods and follows you to the kitchen where Asmo, Mammon and Belphie were sat in the middle of a discussion. You greeted them happily, laughing as Asmo flirted happily with Solomon. You keep up idle conversation while you make tea, missing the small gesture Solomon makes with a free hand and the ripple of magic in the air.
“Hmm, Y/N, what’s that above your head?”
You pause, glancing up as Solomon sidles over with a smile. You were sure you hadn’t noticed the mistletoe hanging there before, and it was a strange place to put mistletoe, but then again you were busy chatting so maybe it had just slipped your mind.
“You’re familiar with the tradition right?”
Solomon holds your chin between two fingers, suddenly very close, his eyes studying your face questioningly. Somewhere in the background you can hear Mammon exploding and Asmo talking about romance but it’s all lost on you with Solomon’s lips hovering so close to your own.
You don’t trust your voice to answer him, but you do just about manage to nod. You catch the expression of triumph for a brief second before he kisses you. You expected something quick and chaste, but those expectations were swiftly dashed when you felt his tongue brush against your lower lip. Any other day you know you’d have given in, but the clamour of voices behind you are a stark reminder of where you are and who your audience is so you press gently against his chest.
“Oi! Whaddya think you’re doin’ kissing my human like that?!”
“Oh hush Mammon, I think it’s very sweet.”
Embarrassed, you grab the tea and Solomon’s arm, practically dragging him out of the kitchen with Belphie’s eyes burning holes in your back.
“You did that on purpose!”
Solomon shrugged. “Perhaps I just saw an excuse to kiss that gorgeous face of yours and took it?”
“No one hangs mistletoe above a teapot! You did that to annoy them
wait, did you just call me gorgeous?”
“Perhaps. Now, shall we get back to studying?”
You were going to murder him one day. Maybe after another kiss though.

Rengoku Kyojuro x Reader
- Being a slayer, Kyojuro knows how wrong it is to be absolutely whipped for a demon. It’s not his own fault that you give him mind-blowing sex. -
warnings: NSFW, teasing, degradation, overstimulation, ahegao, handjobs, dom reader
words: 2k
-
There’s just something about saving the day and being a hero that really, really gets Kyojuro. Of course, it’s his job for gods’ sakes, but to have people looking up to him, swooning over him? There is nothing like it. So yeah, he may or may not have a hero complex. What’s the big deal? It’s not like he’s doing anything wrong.
Well
Except for the fact that he is.
Nervousness and guilt chew away at Kyojuro’s insides as he stalks towards the manor; above him, the pitch black sky twinkles with thousands of stars, all of them distant diamonds. The full moon shines bright, an iridescent yellow compared to the rest of the nighttime sky. A chorus of crickets and croaking frogs surrounds him; everything is too peaceful, too idyllic.
The first time he came to this very manor, he expected the place to be surrounded by bones, both old and new. Human heads would be perched on stakes, their mouths forever open in a silent scream. He truly anticipated the absolute worse. However, as he quickly realized, everything was the exact opposite.
He shouldn’t even be here. A demon resided here – you, specifically – and he hunted demons for a living. You’re a dangerous person with sharp teeth and even sharper claws; you can kill him in an instant if you truly wanted to, and yet you didn’t. The same could be said about Kyojuro. He’s killed so many other demons before, so it’s not an issue, but he hesitates whenever he thinks about bringing his blade down on your neck.
This is the same thought process he goes through every time he visits. He always stands right outside your door, gazes up at the mere size of the manor, and wonders just what the hell he thinks he’s doing. If anybody were to learn about his late night rendezvouses with a demon, he’s done for. Hell, he thinks Oyakata-sama might even be the one to slit his stomach.
He doesn’t even bother to wait for you as he enters the place you call home; much like the outside, the inside of the manor is impeccably clean and furnished with mahogany pieces and fine China. He can tell you’ve been collecting such magnificent furniture throughout your long lifespan; it always makes him awestruck to be surrounded by such wealth. He’s careful to take off his setta, silently setting them to the side as he steps up into your home.
His tabi-clad feet hardly make any noise as he ventures into the manor, looking for any signs of life. As far as he knows, there hasn’t been any other human to step foot inside this very manor while he was present. It’s when he’s away is the problem. You’re a demon, after all – you need as much sustenance as he does, maybe even more.
Before he fully realizes it, he’s walking the familiar trek to where your bedroom is. It’s almost second nature to him, always trying to find you. He shouldn’t be so eager to see a demon in the first place; it’s just plain wrong. This whole situation is wrong, but something about you brings him back, attracts him like a moth to a flame. The need to see you boils in his blood. He wants you to be by his side constantly. It’s only human nature, wanting to spend time with someone you’re attracted to, but this situation isn’t exactly what Kyojuro had in mind.
As he slides the door to your room open, the sight of your bare back greets him. Perched in front of a vanity, you dabble makeup onto your face; brilliant red smudges cover the outer corners of your eyes and your plush lips. Kyojuro can only guess how expensive the product must’ve been, judging by the hue alone. Your hair is entirely pinned up, revealing the entirety of your neck and shoulders. You look positively stunning, magnificent. Kyojuro’s throat goes dry.
“Hello, my darling slayer,” you say, a seductive lilt to your tone. You’ve always sounded like that – like fine wine mixed with smoke and honey. Setting your fine point brush down, your glowing eyes meet Kyojuro’s through the mirror. “How may I serve you tonight?”
Glancing down, Kyojuro is greeted by the sight of your perky breasts reflecting back at him. Licking his lips, he looks back up to your eyes. You smirk at him. “I wanted to see you,” he mutters. “You look beautiful.”
You coo at him, your fingers slipping the fine material of your kimono up and around your shoulders. Kyojuro is mildly disappointed by the lack of skin, but then you turn to him, your chest only partially covered. His brilliant gaze follows the curve of your waistline, how it seamlessly widens at your hips and turns into luscious thighs. Crossing your legs, the silk of your kimono flutters against your skin.
“You wanted to see me?” you purr. Slowly, you draw yourself to a graceful stand. Like this, your front becomes entirely bare under his eyes. “Kyojuro, you naughty boy.” You bat your eyelashes sultrily at him. “Get on the bed,” you husk, pointing a clawed finger to the oversized mattress. Like most of the furniture you own, it’s made of a deep mahogany, the frame standing on four sturdy legs and raising high to form a canopy. Delicate silks hang from the top, all a dainty white. It’s behind those very curtains that Kyojuro’s taken you many, many times.
Doing as he’s told, he removes his cape and sets it to the side before taking a seat at the end of the bed. The softness of the mattress beckons to him, calls for him to lie back and fall asleep. And, he will, eventually, if this is going where he thinks it is. You walk over to him, your long, confident strides making him stare at your legs. You slither on top of him, straddling his waist and linking your hands together over his shoulders. Kyojuro inhales sharply, the scent of your perfume intoxicating.
“And why did you want to see me?” you say, dragging a finger over the sharp line of his jaw. Kyojuro trembles beneath your touch; your index taps against his lower lip, a knowing expression growing on your face. “Is the big bad Flame Pillar falling for me?” you purr.
The way you flutter your lashes causes something inside of Kyojuro to snap. Instead of answering your question, his lips land on yours in pure desperation. The kiss is heated from the start; you quickly worm your tongue inside his mouth, licking up against the roof of it and Kyojuro lets you. He lets you do anything you want every time he sees you because he simply cannot get enough.
You swallow his soft groan as your hands travel down his chest, making quick work of unbuttoning his uniform’s jacket and his shirt underneath. Kyojuro’s skin has always been deliriously warm, beautifully bronzed and freckled by the sun. He sighs under your touch; it quickly turns into a slight whimper as you pull at his nipple. Your teeth tug at his bottom lip as you continuously feel up his chest, your hips gradually working into a steady rhythm against his hardening cock. He’s always been easy to work up, but with you, every single ounce of self-control he possesses flies right out the window.
“Dirty whore,” you murmur, drawing your lips away from him. “Coming back again and again to a demon. What would the others say, huh? What would they say if they could see you now? They’d see me full of your cock, fucking you stupid. You’re so bad, you filthy slut. They could kill you for this.”
At your words, a throaty groan bubbles from Kyojuro’s chest. He knows you’re absolutely right, but that’s what’s good about this whole thing. If his fellow slayers could see him getting so thoroughly used by a demon, he wouldn’t live to see another day. He grunts as you press him to his back, your luscious breasts pushing against his muscular chest. His cock tents through his hakama, the cloth growing wet from both his precum and the slick dripping from your cunt.
“Let them do whatever,” Kyojuro pants. “You’re the – fuck – one that I want.”
You mewl at his words, your sharp nails scratching at his skin. “Is that a confession? Does my little slut love me?” You laugh at the whole ridiculousness of a slayer falling in love with a demon. You move down his chest, your lips running over the ridges of his muscles and leaving stains of red all over his skin.
Kyojuro chokes on a groan as you palm him through his clothes. Ripping his belt off, you make quick work of yanking down his pants and undergarments. His cock kicks and slaps against his stomach, the head an angry red and leaking precum. Your gaze hungrily takes in the protruding veins, the neat thatch of dark pubic hair. He looks absolutely delicious.
“Tell me, Kyojuro,” you bite, your fingers wrapping around his thick cock, “do you love me?”
He doesn’t want to say. He shouldn’t say it, save himself from the impending embarrassment, but then you twist your wrist and fuck does it do something magical to him. “Y-yes,” he stutters, tongue flicking out nervously. “You’re so – shit, ah – wonderful and I really, really like being with you!” He keens as your other hand gently fondles his balls.
“Is that your dick talking?” you taunt. “Are you saying that because you’re a filthy whore?”
Kyojuro furiously shakes his head. His face has well surpassed red, his lips turning swollen from how much he’s chewing on them. “Even when we’re not fucking! Gods, (y/n), I love you!” He cries out as he abruptly cums, thick ropes of white shooting onto his stomach and your fingers. He pants from the force of it; his eyes widen, then, and realizes that he just came immaturely.
You click your tongue. “You got off on that?” Despite your annoyance, Kyojuro can hear the lust laced in your words.
“Yeah
” A punched-out breath fills the air as you swiftly lower your pussy onto his cock. Kyojuro’s hands make a desperate reach for your hips, but you quickly take hold of his wrists and pin them by his sides.
“So what, I don’t get to have any fun?” You flash him a mock pout. “Come on, love, show me what you got.”
Hearing the endearment roll off your tongue has Kyojuro’s cock stirring to life back inside you. Swiveling your hips, you mouth at the underside of his jaw, your teeth just barely scraping against the tender flesh. You set a steady pace, barely giving him any time to breathe while you bounce on his cock. His hips buck frantically to match your relentless pace; he whimpers from overstimulation, but fuck your cunt is so hot and wet and he feels like he’s going to explode.
“Oh, gods, please, please,” he babbles, his tongue trying to collect whatever saliva spills from his mouth. You’re fucking him so good that he’s seeing stars. He can’t control the way how his eyes roll into the back of his head or how his tongue sticks out in pure, unadulterated pleasure. “Fuck, you feel so good-“
“Am I fucking you stupid?” you ask him. Arching your back even further, your breasts drag against his torso. “Look at your pathetic face. You really are a slut, you know that? With a body like yours, it’s no wonder you bend over for anybody.”
In his euphoric state, Kyojuro shakes his head. “No, no, only for you, I promise,” he rambles. He moans loudly as the head of his cock pushes in even deeper and slams right into your cervix.
Your velvety walls suck him in with every stroke, desperate to have him inside and fuck you silly. “Who’s fucking you so good, Kyojuro.”
He groans. “You are
”
You clench even harder around his cock. “I said who.”
“You are!” he yelps, kicking his head back and spraying his cum all over your insides. You ride him through his orgasm, delighted in the way his cum seeps out around his cock and spills onto the both of you.
“That’s my good little slut,” you purr. Letting go of his wrists, you press open-mouthed kisses all over his sweaty chest. “Now make me cum, love.”

The demon brothers making plushies that look like MC 🧾
Author’s note: Please do not repost!! If you like my writing, please leave a like and a comment (and follow me to see similar content in the future :D)!
_____
Lucifer ☕:
‱ It's impeccable, as everything Lucifer does is. Lucifer's attention to detail is second to none.
‱ He tries to play the plushie off as no big deal, but literally everyone can see how much effort he's put into his handicraft. The eyes of the plushie are the exact same hue as yours are (Remember when Lucifer disappeared for a week and didn't tell anyone where he was going? I'll tell you now -he was wandering from craft shop to craft shop, trying to find thread that would reflect just how beautiful your eyes are.), and he's somehow managed to replicate a tiny version of your favourite graphic tee -down to the small imperfection on the printed design.
‱ Wherever he goes, the plushie follows. If he's taking a power nap, it sits on his pillow. If he's doing work at his table, it sits on his laptop, ready to help (however much a plushie can help, anyway). Even when he's in student council meetings, the plushie follows. (Diavolo thinks it's adorable, and has a miniature chair custom made for the "newest student council member". Lucifer can't decide on whether Diavolo is mocking him or not.)
Mammon 💳
‱ He tried his best, he really did. And I'm not saying that because the plushie he made was terrible, no, it was actually pretty decent!
‱ He doesn't have a clue on how plushies are made, but when he saw the plushie you made of him, he decided he wanted one too. But of you, of course.
‱ He's too prideful (More like your big brother than you'd like to admit, huh, Mammon?) and embarrassed to admit to you that he has no idea what he's doing, so instead of asking you for help, he turns to YouTube videos and craft blogs to learn how to crochet. After restarting his 2nd row for the 76th time and having to untangle his ball of yarn for the 40th, he's almost ready to admit defeat.
‱ But then he imagines how happy you'd be when you laid eyes on the plushie he'd made of you (because "EVERYONE would want a plushie made by the GREAT Mammon, it's an honour to be chosen to be MY model." )...and suddenly he's crocheting like he's been practicing for years instead of hours, breezing through instructional videos and reading written patterns like a pro.
‱ His final product is slightly lopsided...but other than that it's really good!! Especially for someone who had never touched a crochet hook in his life before.
‱ Uses mini you to practice asking real you out.
Leviathan 🎼
‱ Is relatively decent at using a sewing machine. After all, he tailors his own cosplay. (And if a new season of 'Ruri-chan: Magical Girls Forever!' comes out and Ruri-chan happens to be wearing an outfit he particularly likes in it...sometimes he creates a tiny replica of it for his Ruri-chan nesoberi.)
‱ Ruri-chan has her own shrine in a corner of Levi's room...and now you do as well!
‱ Your "shrine" is basically a wooden shelf (painted in your favourite colour, of course) with a cork board mounted on the wall above it. Plushie you sits on a tiny throne on the shelf, with all the presents the real you has ever gifted him surrounding your cotton stuffed twin. The noticeboard holds a countless number of momentos -mostly photographs of the two of you and tickets from all the anime concerts and events you guys have been to.
‱ (The throne you sit on is a replica of the fairy queen's rose quartz throne in season 4, episode 19 of ‘Ruri-chan: Magical Girls Forever!' . Official merchandise, of course; there are only about 50 of the official ones left in existence. Ruri-chan had been perched on this very throne for over a decade, all of the other demon brothers were shocked when Levi dethroned Ruri-chan just for you.)
Satan 📚
‱ His plushie is perfect. Almost...too perfect.
‱ He's become an expert in plushie making after ploughing through an endless mountain of craft books and making his way through all the handicraft videos to ever exist. And his work shows the results of his diligent research...his final product looks machine made. Flawless. No one can fault him on technique...his work is outstanding. But somehow, something is still...off. It's too perfect, too lifeless. There's no personality to it whatsoever.
‱ So he spends the next week experimenting with different techniques and materials. He tries crocheting, knitting, making sock plushies...but somehow he still can't capture what makes you...you.
‱ Mammon notices Satan giving himself a brain aneurysm over this, and makes a comment on instead of trying to think his way through the situation like he always does, he should just "feel for it, you know? Put some heart into it."
‱ Mammon usually says some strange things...but this time Mammon's words actually seem to resonate with Satan. So he gives it a shot, and pours his entire heart and soul into the next plushie he makes. While the plushie looks virtually the same as all his other attempts, somehow this one feels different.
‱ It feels right.
Asmodeus 👄
‱ Commissions someone to make the plushie of you for him
‱ Okay, so he doesn't make the plushie by himself (he doesn't want to break a nail). But he's incredibly involved in the designing process.
‱ Fusses over everything from the measurements to the exact colour (and I mean exact ) of thread they're gonna use to embroider on your eyes. Makes whoever he's commissioning do multiple samples throughout the process, and if he even finds 1 tiny fault with it he tells them to burn it and start over. His criticism is brutal, but if it isn't going to be perfect then what's the point?
‱ When a plushie is finally made to his satisfaction, he immediately gets down to the incredibly important task of creating a doll sized replica of your closet. He's incredibly through, there's even a tiny version of that one sock you have that's had a rip through the heel for years.
Beelzebub 🍔
‱ Poor Beel has no idea what he's doing...not even a little bit.
‱ He's watched the same crafting video so many times that half of that content creator's revenue is probably generated solely by Beelzebub himself.
‱ Where is he supposed to insert his crochet hook again? Oops...time to rewatch the video for the 286th time, I guess...
‱ His massive, beefy hands are just not made to do delicate handicrafts. He's already lost several sewing needles (pray to Simeon that no one steps on them) and his balls of yarn seem to be getting tangled up with each other just from him looking at them?? Oh, and he snapped a crochet hook clean in half just now, because he set it down on the table too hard. He's crying because all these things are happening and he has no idea why.
‱ Belphie walks in on the catastrophe and is pretty surprised to see his brother sobbing over a ball of yarn. Beel's never really been that into handicrafts. But when Belphie sees that Beel has actually set his snacks to the side just to concentrate on making this plushie of you...Belphie knows it's serious between the two of you.
‱ Belphie offers to help his twin out and between the 2 of them, they manage to finish the plushie within the next couple of days (instead of the next couple of years...which is how long it would take if Beel was left to his own devices).
‱ "Look!! I even attached a tag that says 'made by Belphie and Beel'!" :3
‱ (Please be proud of this wholesome boi.)
Belphegor 🛏
‱ Isn't that bad at handicrafts.
‱ He used to do them with Lilith, back before the war. She was amazing with her hands...much better than he was. She made him one of his cow plushies...he's always treasured it, but after she passed it became all the more precious to him. Her namesake now sits on the softest pillow he has in his bed...the cow plushie to lead all cow plushies.
‱ He's seen the way you've looked at Lilith (the cow plushie)...and knows while you don't hate her or it, it must be difficult to have a constant reminder of someone whose shadow you'll never know if you can step out of.
‱ So he decides to make a plushie of you. Not to replace Lilith (both the cow plushie and his actual sister), but as a symbol of his affection for you. To remind you that you're just as important to him as Lilith was (and maybe even more so).
‱ His plushie making process mostly goes off without a hitch; he doesn't encounter any major problems. He still remembers the basics, and unlike Beel he doesn't have the physical strength to snap his tools in half...he's too sleepy (All that potential nap time wasted on plushie making...).
‱ His finished product takes up a pride of place on his pillow beside Lilith (the cow plushie). Knowing that the 2 of you are watching over him while he sleeps makes him feel truly happy for the first time in years.

Trigger warnings: One character’s a total douche, talk of war and death
Mc twirled the pencil she had been sketching with debating if she should ask the question she had been thinking about. Her and Michael were the only ones in the room and no one would be coming in for quite awhile. This was probably the best time she’d get to ask, "Hey, Michael. Can I ask you a question?"
He looked up from his book, "Yes? What is it?"
"Well, I was reading a book the other day, and I came across something odd. It
it was about the Avatar's Fall," Mc couldn't look at Michael, so she just continued, "Eyewitness accounts say there were eight angels that fell that day. So, I was wondering: Was there an eighth angel who fell that day?"
The silence was heavy, threatening to crush Mc. After a long moment, Michael's voice sounded lowly, "And just why were you reading about something like that?"
"Meeting them in person got me curious."
"And you would believe an eyewitness account over the teachings of the Celestial Realm?"
"Well, not necessarily. I just was curious since I'd never heard of there being another angel who Fell."
There was silence, and Mc still couldn't make herself look over, "I suppose just because some of them have paid attention to you makes you think you know all about demons.”
“No, it’s not that.”
“Then what is it then? If you haven’t forgotten, demons will lie about anything. Sinning comes naturally to them. In fact, the seven you keep coming into contact with are the embodiment of some of the most damaging sins. The lower demons are even worse.”
“I just want the most information possible. If there was another angel who fell that day, shouldn’t we tell everyone?”
“You forget your place, Mc. You may have luxuries other angels do not possess, but that does not raise your station.  Questioning Father’s teachings. To believe something a demon wrote about another demon-"
"I'm not really questioning. I was just confused because-"
"And now you interrupt me? Just who do you think you are? I am an archangel, and the only reason you've been allowed down here. You are a simple angel that we have allowed to express her talents throughout the three realms. Do not make me wonder if it was the right decision."
Mc flinched at the door closing. Though he hadn't slammed it, nor had he raised his voice, she had felt the waves of displeasure rolling off of him. The threat about sending her back to the Celestial Realm had her really nervous. Before she was aware of what she was doing, the message had been sent.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“I could’ve come to the castle.”
“Hmmm
 I don’t think that would be for the best right now.”
Satan cocked his head, “Did something happen?”
“Kind of. Anyway, thanks for meeting me here.”
“Of course. Is there anything in particular you’d like to do?”
“Well, I kinda thought, since I have an invitation and all, that you could show me around the House of Lamentation.”
“I
 I mean, if you want to. I’m warning you now, it’s almost never calm there. My brothers are
 a handful.”
“Sounds great!”
Satan looked over in shock, “Seriously?”
Mc nodded her head, “I grew up with calm. I want some excitement.”
“Well, be careful what you wish for.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
“GIVE ME BACK MY LIMITED DIAMOND EDITION SUCREY FRENZY SIGNED POSTER MAMMON! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT’S WORTH!”
“Course I know what it’s worth! Why’d ya think I took it in the firs’ place?”
“SO YOU DID TAKE IT!!!”
“Oh. Whoops! Forget I said anythin’.”
“MAMMON!”
A blur of demon shot past Mc and Satan. All Mc could make out was white and brown, before Leviathan went past, considerably slower than Mammon, but still fast for a demon. At least, Mc thought it might be Leviathan. The shy purple haired demon was now in all black, with black horns and a snake-like tail. He also looked like he was going to rip apart his brother.
Satan sighed, continuing forward, hands in his pockets, “Welcome to the House of Lamentation.”
“Shouldn’t we do something?”
“Hmm? Oh, about them? I wouldn’t worry about it.”
“Ah. I see
”
“We should probably get you out of the immediate vicinity though. There’s no telling what those two idiots might do.”
“Where should we go then?”
“Hmmm
Well, since we’re close, I guess we could start with the kitchen.”
“Sounds good to me!”
As they walked, Mc looked around her. Though the decorations were both a tad macabre and extremely grand, she found herself
comfortable. The candle light cast everything in an almost cheery glow, and the atmosphere, while a little daunting, made her feel like she was

“... Home.”
Satan stopped dead in his tracks, and turned slowly towards her, “W-wait
 Hwat did you say?”
“Oh, did I say that outloud? Sorry. That probably sounded really weird,” when Satan didn’t answer, Mc continued a bit awkwardly, “It’s just
This is the most comfortable I’ve been in a brand new place in a long time. I thought maybe my attraction to the Devildom was just because of how novel it all is to an angel. But
Being in this house, it just makes everything feel more like
Home,” Mc looked up to see Satan looking at her with a very tender but sad look, “Is everything alright?”
“Yeah. Let’s keep going.”
When they got to the kitchen, Belphegor and Beelzebub were there, former hiding his head in his arms and the latter consuming a concerning amount of food in a very short time. He stopped when Satan and Mc entered the room.
“Burfy! Wrok hus herr!”
“Hmmm? What? Who is it?”
“Ots Emm Fee!”
Belphegor lifted his head tiredly, but smiled when he saw Satan and Mc, “So, you took us up on the invitation?”
“Yup. Satan’s showing me around.”
“Do you guys want some food?” Beelzebub asked, mouth cleared for a second.
“Well, I-"
"Here. You can have this," Beel said, grabbing her hand and dropping what looked to be a kind of sweet bun in it. He gazed at it for a second then looked at her and grinned before walking back to his food pile.
"You should eat it," Satan said quietly, " He doesn't share his food with just anybody."
"Oh. Okay," Mc said, looking at the sweet. She took a small bite and then her eyes grew wide before eating the whole thing.
"Thought you'd like it," the Avatar of Gluttony smiled.
"It was absolutely delicious! What was it?"
"An orange roll. It's a human word treat."
"I'm going to have to have Luke make it later."
"Did he come with you?" Beel's eyes were shining.
"Ummm
 Not this time."
"Oh."
"I'll make sure to let him know next time I'm coming."
"Please do," Beel said, smiling again.
"Well, I'm going to continue our tour if that's alright."
"Yes, please do," Mc smiled, turning back to him.
"Have fun you two," Belphie said, dropping his head back onto his arm.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mc and Satan progressed through the house. The feeling of familiarity just kept growing as they went. There was a room off the kitchen that Mc felt very drawn to. Satan said it was just an unused bedroom, nothing of note, but it did nothing to curb her interest. In fact, it made her want to see what was inside even more.
When they got to the library, they had to stop because Mc was so excited. No matter how many library’s she saw, personal or otherwise, they never failed to excite her. The fact it was the personal library of the Fallen was not lost on her.
“Do you want to stop here for a bit?” Satan chuckled.
Mc turned to him with wide eyes, “Can we?”
“Of course. Spending time with books is always time well spent. Anything in particular you’d like to look for?”
“Ummm
 Do you just want to give me a tour?”
“Of the library?... Hmm
 I suppose I could do that. Lucifer does like it organized a certain way. And, of course, if there’s a book that catches your eye, all you have to do is say the word and we can stop to read.”
“Oh, that’s what you’re really after,” Mc teased.
“Well, can you blame me? Reading with someone in companionable silence is one of life’s greatest joys.”
“Well, I suppose it is nice to just sit and read with Sim, though he’s probably the only one I’ve read with.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. Most other angels don’t just sit and read very often. Unless it’s scripture.”
“Sounds about right,” Satan said, rolling his eyes and starting to climb the stairs that lead to the second story of the library.
The “certain way” Lucifer liked the books to be organized was by genre, then alphabetically by author.If an author had multiple books, they were to be then sorted alphabetically by title, any series sorted by the first book’s title then in order. Many of the books were old though in impeccable condition. Mc was impressed by the breadth of selection available, and she could sense some spacial magic at work which housed more books than what was visible to the naked eye. While browsing, Mc found a book that looked interesting, and carried it until the tour was over. Satan happened to have a book in a hidden pocket in his jacket so they decided to sit and read awhile. Instead of the ground floor, Satan knew of a little nook on the second story which had a cushioned window seat and two plush reading chairs, so they went and sat there.
Though the story was interesting, she just couldn’t get into the book she’d grabbed. Her mind kept wandering back to her earlier conversation with Michael. She didn’t know how she could have brought up the subject in a way where he wouldn’t have gotten so upset with her. He’d reprimanded her before, but never had he been so dismissive and final about it.
“Are you alright?” Satan’s voice cut through her thoughts. She looked over to see him watching her.
She suddenly felt embarrassed, and averted her eyes, “It’s
 Well, I got reprimanded by Michael.”
“Why?”
So Mc told him about her search for information, how Barbatos had told her to ask Michael and his rebuke. When she finished, Satan’s face was impossible to read. He was silent for long enough, she was concerned she had offended him somehow. Finally he spoke, “Lilith. Her name was Lilith. If you want some answers about what happened, I think Lucifer would be the best person to give them to you. I would suggest Beel, but he has enough trauma about what happened as it is. I don’t even know if he remembers, or if he’s blocked it
”
“Blocked what?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Satan knocked on a bookshelf on the ground floor. A deep voice sounded from behind it, “Enter.” At the word, the bookshelf sung open to reveal a secret room. Despite wondering what was going on, Mc was both delighted and intrigued.
“You guys actually have a secret room behind a bookcase?!”
Satan shrugged, “Yeah. The house has a lot more secrets too. It would’ve been my room had I not lost a bet with Lucifer. Now it’s his office,” and with that, he walked in.
The whole room was a lot cozier than Mc would’ve expected. Austere and imposing yes, but there was a level of warmth and comfort to the room Mc would never have expected.
“Satan, what is it?” Lucifer sat at his desk, quill scratching across some paperwork. He hadn’t looked up.
“Mc has a question for you.”
This got him to look up, “Ah Mc. How can I help you?”
“Oh, if I’m interrupting something I can come back later.”
“I could use a break anyway. Please continue,” Lucifer sat there expectantly.
“Okay. Umm
” the memory of Michael flashed through Mc’s mind, and she winced a bit, but continued on with her story. Lucifer’s eyes darkened the further into the story she got. When she got to Michael’s chastisement, Lucifer got up from his chair abruptly, and went over to his window, back to Satan and Mc. Mc faltered in her story, watching as his clothes changed, horns pushing up and out from his head.
“I told her you’d be the one to ask,” Satan intervened, coming to stand behind Mc.
“Why? You know everything. You were there,” Lucifer asked, back still turned.
“You know the whole story,” Satan shrugged, eyes on the black clad figure.
Lucifer was silent and unmoving for quite awhile. Mc’s tension was on high alert for quite awhile, not seeing the horns retreating, until he finally spoke, “Before I begin, I feel I must warn you. You are going to hear things you probably won’t like or agree with. You are not to interrupt me. There will be a chance for me to answer your questions at the end, but only at the end. I will not explain my actions. The only person I answer to is Lord Diavolo. Whether you believe them correct or not, I am not embellishing the truth nor am I trying to hide from it. Knowing all of that, do you want me to continue?”
“... Yes. I would like to know the truth,” Mc answered confidently, though the fact he was still angry put her on edge. She knew he wasn’t angry at her at least.
The eldest, having calmed down enough to revert out of his demon form, came over and sat behind his desk. Satan came and sat next to her, earning a look from Lucifer, “You’re going to stay?”
“She is my guest.”
Lucifer raised his eyebrows, but said nothing, turning his attention back to Mc, “Have you heard about the Great Celestial War?” Mc nodded, and he continued, “No doubt you’ve heard their version of what happened. Probably talks about me and my brothers rampaging around the Celestial Realm until they finally cast us out?” Lucifer looked to her for confirmation.
“More or less,” Mc conceded.
“I am sure they make me out to be a villain in every way?”
“They say before you became angry, you were the model angel.”
“That is
interesting to know. Thank you for that. Now, where to begin?... Do you know anything about our sister?” Mc shook her head no, and Lucifer sighed angrily, “To think they just
Lilith came into my little makeshift family with Beel and Belphie. They were almost triplets in a sense of the word. Beel was the sun, Belphie the moon and Lilith the stars, though I would argue she shined the most brightly out of them. She was... angelic. They should really point to her as the model angel. She was everything an angel should and could be. Though they were all very close, once Beel made himself my bodyguard, Belphie and Lilith spent a lot of time together. Belphie had a habit of going off the the human realm whenever he could, which was not seen as a good thing, though he knew how to keep himself unattached to the humans he happened to meet, so no one could really do much more than grumble. That is, until Lilith started going down him.
Her heart was so pure and full of love, she ended up falling in love with one of the humans she met. Belphie tried to talk her out of it, but it was no use. When the rumors started, I asked both of them what was going on. From what they both said, it was love at first sight. Though I was furious, I went down myself to meet the man in question, and found myself unable to criticize her. He was everything I could have wanted for my sister.
Unfortunately, he was mortal and he came down with a serious illness. Lilith was devastated. We all tried to tell her this was a good thing. He was a good enough person he would probably join us in the Celestial Realm. I even spoke with my father and got permission for her to lead him to the Celestial Realm when he passed. She wouldn’t listen however. He had told her all about his dreams for the future and she couldn’t let his life end. SO she concocted a plan. I wish she would’ve told me about it earlier, but I only found out about it after the deed had been done. She took a Tarel fruit and fed it to him,” Mc gasped despite herself. That fruit was precious. Michael himself wasn’t allowed any unless Father approved of it. Lucifer didn’t even acknowledge the outburst, “He recovered, obviously, but the damage was irreversible. As punishment for her sins, my father decided she would be put on trial, though we all knew the outcome, “ as did Mc. Either death or complete exile. They were essentially one-and-the-same.
“I had
many issues with the Celestial Realm and how it was run. How it probably still is. I was able to put those all aside however for the sake of my family and my position. This however,” and Mc could see the rage that still filled his eyes, “I could never forgive. Not if it meant the death of our dear baby sister. All my brothers felt the same way, especially Beel and Belphie. We all decided we were going to do something about it. Despite what anyone might say, I did try to go the “correct way” in the beginning. Supplications to my father. Speaking to others that might listen. I think we even tried a petition at one point. Very few would listen. I think there was a level of envy from most of the other angels. They saw in Lilith all their shortcomings, and so they had latched onto the one “bad” thing anyone could ever remember her doing.
“Tensions came to a head one day when I told my father and Michael I would do everything in my power to keep Lilith safe. Michael then looked me dead in the eyes and told me my sister was going to be punished, even if he had to do it himself. I left that meeting trembling with rage, and that’s when I knew I would wage war against anyone who tried to hurt my family, even if that meant fighting my father myself. I flew into the sky that day and sent my declaration of war over the entire Celestial Realm.
“Some came to our aid, but most sat on the opposing side. The war was long and bloody. Many that had flocked to our aid perished, low ranked angels who didn’t stand a chance against the likes of Michael and his bow. On what would come to be known as the last day of the war, we had so few left, my precious family had to be put near the front of the battle. Everything was going fine, and we were actually winning when I saw Michael emerge from the enemy forces. He had spotted Lilith, standing with Beel and Belphie, and I could see his intentions before anyone else. I tried my hardest to reach the three youngest, but a large crowd of angels came to attack me. Whether it was his plan all along to keep me tied up with so many, I don’t know. All I do know is that by the time I had fought off all my attackers it was too late. He had strung three arrows pointing them at my family. They all knew it was coming too, and I watched the panic set in to all three of them, with Beel in the middle. He chose to save Belphie. Lilith went down with an arrow to the wing, which was then followed by three more arrows shot by others, one to her other wing, one to the stomach, and then one to the chest. She looked over to me as she started falling and I
” Lucifer’s voice broke and he had to take a second to compose himself, “Well, let’s just say I will never forget it. After the shock had worn off, I flew after her as she fell. I tried to shoot down as fast as I could hoping to grab her, but it was no use. She crashed into the Devildom, wings singed body broken.
“I didn’t tell anyone about that day for a long time. Eventually I did tell Barbatos and Lord Diavolo who Lilith’s murderer was, which is why Barbatos knew who to send you to for answers. The fact Michael wouldn’t come clean about the whole thing, and that they’ve essentially erased her from history
It makes my blood boil. To see Diavolo acting so chummy with my sister’s murderer
” Mc could see, through the film of tears blocking her vision, Lucifer’s horns starting to emerge again.
Without thinking, she crossed over to him and hugged him, openly weeping. The thought was appalling. Whenever people spoke about the Great Celestial War, they always spoke of Michael’s brilliant  tactical genius. They spoke of how he’d helped crush the rebellion, though they had never gone into detail. She now knew why. Lucifer was taken aback for a second by the behavior, but eventually hugged her back.

Lev put his hands on his hips. Cameron and Ash had done most of the heavy lifting, and Mami and Cameron had gotten the food ready, so Lev really hadn’t done much, but it’d turned out nice, and in the end that was all Lev could ask for, really. They had indeed gone with an ocean theme, to match the nursery, and since despite Lev’s efforts to help in some way or another, Cameron had been in charge of everything and took little input, it was all rather tasteful.
Lev fussed with the placement of the snacks, even though he knew Cameron was going to come along behind him and fix it again. He felt useless, especially with Ash reminding him to not push himself.
As expected, Cameron appeared, smacking Lev’s hand away. “Knock it off,” Cameron reprimanded. “The others should be arriving soon.”
“Is Biela coming?” Lev asked. They’d sent an invite; it’d’ve been rude to not. To Lev’s knowledge, she hadn’t responded.
“Likely not. She’ll probably send Caius in her stead.”
“Mm.” Lev had liked Caius, the one time he’d met him. He was pretty. And seemed kind. Friendly, at the very least.
Cameron lifted a brow, and grabbed Lev’s hand when Lev reached to adjust a platter of pastries. “If you don’t leave it alone, I’ll make you go baby sit Nik.”
Lev opened his mouth to argue, but Nik himself had appeared in the doorway, rubbing his eyes with the palm of his hand. “What’s the party for?” the pregnant omega mumbled.
“You,” Lev grumbled, making his way over to Nik. At least he was allowed to fuss over Nik, and he did so with a tiny spark of pleasure, pressing a kiss to Nik’s cheek and brushing his green and black hair from his eyes. “You’re not supposed to be awake yet. It was gonna be a surprise.”
Nik frowned sleepily at Lev. “I had to pee,” Nik complained bitterly.
“We’ve been planning for a week,” Lev informed him, before brushing his cheek lightly. “Oh well. Now I don’t have to figure out a way to get you dressed.”
“Planning what for a week?” Nik muttered. “My birthday isn't until next week.” He pulled a face. “And I can’t even get drunk.”
“Your baby shower,” Lev said, guiltily tucking away Nik’s birthday to worry about later.
“My what?”
Lev sighed, and started herding Nik out the door. He could practically feel Cameron rolling his eyes at him. “Your baby shower. Did you think I would let you get away without one?”
Nik shrugged. “I didn’t even think about it.”
With another sigh, Lev slid his arm around Nik’s waist. “I wasn’t going to not give you one. We invited your brothers. Both of them. You deserve it.”
Nik made a face at him.
“Come on. Let's get dressed,” Lev said, bonking his shoulder with Nik’s.
---
Nik let Lev lead him back to the bedroom to get clothes. He hadn't really thought much about clothes lately and had been wearing sweats for the most part.
He thumbed through a few pairs of jeans and frowned. "None of these are going to fit, are they?"
"...Cameron went shopping."
Nik squinted and looked through his jeans once more. He pulled a pair out and stretched. "When did he do this?" Nik frowned at the alien jeans with their stretchy fabric in horror before shrugging it off and grabbing a loose black shirt to go with it.
Lev had no answer other than his own shrug and took it at face value. The idea of Cameron in a maternity store was too hilarious a thought to stay irritable at it.
Nik worked at getting himself slowly dressed. Without any coffee in his system, he was fighting the urge to just go back to bed. Though luckily enough for him, he wasn't showing nearly as much as what he had seen on the internet with people pregnant the same length as he.
"Seems like a pretty big party for like seven people." Nik said. He rubbed his eyes, pulling the last bit of sleepiness away. "Unless you decided to invite his royal prickliness too."
"Well I assume Bay is coming. Celeste too; they'll bring the babies," Lev said. "We also invited Biela too- though we don't think she'll come."
"I should hope not. I might do something hormonal like poison her sparkly punch, or something."
"Nikolas."
"Hm?" Nik started for the doorway, expecting Lev to follow him back to where he was sure the festivities would eventually begin.
By the time they got there, Bay and Nate had already arrived with Lucas sitting contently on Bay's hip chewing on a teething toy. And their boy scout was promptly hovering behind them.
"Silas," Nik said. "Didn't think you'd be here. Unless you're here because of Lev, of course."
Silas' only response was to flip him off, though it was short lived by Nate smacking him upside the head hard enough Nik heard Silas' neck pop. Nate gave Silas a dirty warning look.
Nik snorted. "Need to learn new tricks."
"Hi Silas," Lev said, from Nik’s side.
Silas gave a disgruntled, "Hey Lev."
Nate looked pleased at Silas' newfound self restraint. "The party looks great, Nik."
"I know, I did great," he said, lying through his teeth. Nik smooshed Levs face away when Lev pinched his hip. "My taste: impeccable."
Nate rose a singular groomed brow. "Oh I'm sure." He looked to Lev. "It looks great, Lev."
Already Lev had glued himself back to Nik’s side. He looked a little put out as he said honestly, “Most of the praise should go to Cameron and Ash and Mami. I wasn’t allowed to do much.”
"Well next time don't die," Ash said, appearing back in the doorway. "That way you'll actually be able to do some of the heavy lifting."
Nik frowned deeply at him, especially once Lev froze next to him and looked uncomfortable.
Ash looked perfectly unfazed.
Mami appeared a heartbeat later, to which Nate instantly perked up somehow even more. Though her eyes were trained on the well behaved six month old in Bay's arms.
The tiny woman nearly flew across the room to get to him, only for Bay to stare her down and refuse to relinquish the baby. "No."
Nate instantly jumped in. "He's still, ah, getting used to letting people hold Lucas," he said, quickly. "I can get Eden for you, if you like?"
Nik's hand flew over his mouth at the mirrored glare coming from both Mami and Bay. She sized Bay up, clearly deciding if it's worth it or not to challenge both her king and the omega that carried the partly legless bundle of joy. Bay's eyes narrowed. "I said no."
She huffed and tore her attention back to Nate who gave her a warm hug, though she was absolutely miniscule compared to Nate's height of six-two. When she pulled back, Nate went to disappear, presumably to find the little terror most likely taking a nap.
When he came back, Nate not only had Eden crawling all over him, he also had Adrien and his wife in tow. Neither of them had particularly warm or friendly looks on their faces, though that was usually par for the course for Adrien and Dyaana.
"Hello," Lev offered.
Dyaana eyed Lev, and gave him a slight smile whereas Adrien looked halfway in pain and just nodded once before coming to give Nik a hug.
Lev wisely removed himself from Niks waist before he got crushed by pure muscle. When Adrien pulled apart, Nik said, "didn't think you'd step foot in Demon Territory."
"The things you do for family," Adrien deadpanned.
Nik only grinned.
"Hey where's your clone?"
"Babysitter," Adrien said. "I'd rather not risk my two year old getting eaten by your boyfriend."
"Hey, Cameron doesn't eat infants. If he had, he would have eaten Eden," Nik said. "She's far more appealing as a meal than Mathias."
Adrien's only response to that was to roll his eyes. At that Lev decided to usher Nik to an armchair. "I am not an invalid, Lev," he said, plopping down anyways.
Lev perched on the armrest and kissed the top of Nik's hair. "I know dear."
When Adrien snorted, Nik threw him a poisonous glare. "Oh shut up."
Eden was still screeching happily in Mami's arms, getting all the attention she wanted, even though she was trying to latch her tiny teeth in Mami's shoulder. Mami easily avoided it by giving her a toy worthy of her teeth.
It was another twenty minutes before Celeste arrived. The last time he saw the witch she was about to pop. But judging by the fussy newborn in her arms, that was no longer the case. She came over to offer Nik a hug, and to show off her tiny pale baby. "We named him Dakota," she informed them.
Lev instantly cooed over him. "He’s so cute," Lev said. "Can I hold him?"
Ash found his way over to butt his nose in like he usually did. He squinted at Lev, but Celeste was already moving to hand him over. "Of course. Watch his head?"
"I know," he assured.
"Wait," Nik said, "Do you know that Ash is staying here
?"
"Yes she does," Ash said, "And she also is staying here. They both are."
Nik's brows shot up. "Is Cameron aware of this?"
Ash lifted a shoulder. "I told him."
"You 'told' him," Nik echoed.
"Dunno what you expected. I have a wife and a kid that I need to be with and I have a stubborn friend who refuses to listen to me. I told you I'm making myself everyone's problem."
Celeste looked pained. But Lev seemed perfectly blissed out; he hadn't even looked up from the fussy baby in his arms. "I don't think I'll mind having them here." He looked up at Celeste. "You've always been nice."
She gave him a tired smile. "I certainly try." She cut Ash a look. "Some people make it difficult sometimes."
Ash folded his arms. "If they don't want me to be difficult, maybe they should try to listen to me for once."
Celeste rolled her eyes but looked back to Nik. "I'm very happy for all of you. I'll help however I can."
Lev’s focus was already trained back on Dakota. Nik squirmed a little. "Thanks, I guess."
She just squeezed his hand.
---
Cyrus lit the last candle and shook out the match. He looked over at Darius as he settled on the bed. “On a scale of one to ten, how bad of an idea is this?” he asked drily.
Darius thought on that for a moment. “Probably a seven point two.”
After giving a small sigh, Cyrus laid back on the bed. “Better than I ten, I suppose.”
When he opened his eyes again, he was no longer lying on his bed. He wasn’t even in his own house anymore. The walls around him were all earthy tones, the green accents only catching his eye briefly before he settled on Asmi themself.
The god was tall, their dark skin a deeper brown than his own, and bright blue eyes that pinned him in place. After a moment where he froze -afraid, if he was willing to admit it - he dipped his head respectfully. When he looked at them again, he noted that they were still seated in their chair, face thin and tight, bags under their eyes, though they kept their chin high.
“Am I right in assuming that Darius explained what’s going on?” Cyrus ventured.
"You poisoned me once and now you want me to give you the tools to be able to do so again?"
Cyrus forced himself to keep his gaze steady. “If I do it right, it shouldn’t this time.”
"Shouldn't have happened the first time," they said flatly. "Necromancy defies balance and you weakened me for an angel who didn't bother communing with me in the first place. You didn't bother communing with me in the first place. And now that you need my help, you finally deign to bother?"
Cyrus inclined his head ever so slightly. “Ignorance is not an excuse, but it’s the only explanation I personally have.” He folded his hands carefully on his knee. “I made a promise. I don’t break them.” Asmi gave him the time he needed to gather his words. “I am sorry. For everything. I’ve never-” He paused again, frustrated by how hard it was to piece together the words. “It’s not an excuse, that I was never taught how to commune with you. Darius had to teach me, and you’re not even his god. But I want to do right by Darius. If nothing else, he’s been kind to me, and kind to everyone. I promised Cameron I would try. This is me trying. I want to make a deal that will work, not flub the spell again.”
They seemed to think on it; to weigh his words carefully. "What kind of deal?" They finally said.
“Same as the one that brought Levant back.” Cyrus considered his words and then amended, “A similar one, at least. Some sort of exchange.”
"And what's stopping you?"
Cyrus shook his head. “I don't want to risk getting the exchange wrong. That’s what released the dark magic into the earth in the first place. The spell unravelled, and I won’t let that happen again. But I won’t sacrifice Cameron Luain for this spell. It makes both this one and the one that brought Levant back completely pointless.”
Asmi nodded slowly and leaned back in their chair, blue eyes narrowed in thought. "Pick your sacrifice one last time and I will cover the remaining sacrifice to your spell. I warn you, the price will be heavy and I am not so easy to forgive the disruption you have caused me. Make sure this is worth it before you once again defy me."
Cyrus nodded slowly. “Thank you,” he said softly. When Asmi didn’t reply, Cyrus added, “If it’s not arrogant of me to ask... I’d like to talk to you again.” He cocked his head ever so slightly. “I know nothing of you, as my god or as a god in general. I’d like to fill in the gaps my education has.”
"It's not arrogant," they said. "It's what's expected of you. So yes, you may. There's plenty you need to get caught up on."
Cyrus limited himself to a small smile. “Then I look forward to speaking to you in the future,” he said politely. “Thank you, again.”
Rather than reply, they gave a tired flick of their wrist.
Cyrus blinked his eyes open to see his own ceiling. Sorin was sprawled against his side, purring as he kneaded his claws gently in Cyrus’ arm. Cyrus rolled his head until he could find Darius. “I think I got permission. I need to call Cameron.”
---
The party had been well underway when Cameron stepped out of the room. He slipped into his office several hallways down before his phone started to buzz. He didn't let it finish its first ring before answering. "Are you ready, then?"
“Sort of.” Cyrus hesitated. “I spoke with Asmi. They’ve promised as long as someone is sacrificed, they’ll take care of the rest, rather than risk the spell failing. I just don’t have anyone to sacrifice, to my knowledge.”
"Well lucky for you," Cameron said, "I currently have a spineless traitor rotting in my basement. Will that appease your morals?"
“A traitor?” Cyrus pressed mildly.
"A person who betrays a friend, country or a principle," Cameron replied, matching his tone. "A traitor."
“How did he betray you?”
"Well now, that's my business, now isn't it?"
There was a long pause, and then, “Did they kill anyone?”
"He's my employee."
The sigh the witch gave was audible through the phone even if Cameron hadn’t been a demon. “Fine. I’ve got a few things to pull together but I’m mostly ready, whenever you are.”
Cameron promptly hung up his phone and smoothed out his suit. He gave himself five heartbeats to settle before joining the festivities.
Caius had finally arrived, with many gifts in tow, despite it being demonic custom to not celebrate an infant until after its birth. Adapting to Nik’s angelic ancestry, he imagined. Cameron hadn't bothered saying as much when Lev suggested a baby-shower. If that was what the angel thought Nik needed, then he would provide.
Nik instantly eyed him from where he was, brows rose in question, but Cameron went to turn his focus to the Crown Prince currently placing the gifts along the table. "You seem to be in a rather generous mood, my prince," Cameron observed.
Caius flashed him a dazzling smile. "Why you make it sound like I'm not always in a giving mood, my loyal subject."
"I imagined a massacre would dampen your rather optimistic spirits."
Grief flickered in Caius' blue eyes. "All the more reason to celebrate a new life."
"Hm."
"I brought you all gifts," Caius said, with an echo of cheerfulness. "Including one for him."
"Much thanks." Cameron looked Nik's way to see him talking animatedly with Ash and Lev and Nate. He seemed to have been brought to a better mood with the sole focus on him. "It's always an honor to receive the eye of the crown."
Caius snorted at Cameron’s ingrained court-speak, but said nothing of it. Merely squeezed his shoulder before disappearing back into the party to give gifts to their respective recipients.
---
Admittedly, after so many months of solitude or just Cameron and Nik for company, the party was a little overwhelming. He drew comfort from the fact that Nik was right there, and Cameron lingered on the edges of the party being Cameron.
The fact that Caius was very friendly helped, though. Lev barely knew the man, but he was pretty and his smile seemed both genuine and calm. He laughed easily and didn’t seem bothered by the amount of angels in the room with him, despite being the Crown Prince of demonic territory.
At some point during the festivities, Caius pulled Lev aside, though. Lev glanced back at Nik, but let Caius with only a flustered, “Okay.”
“I got you something,” Caius said, flashing him another smile that definitely made Lev flush a little.
“Nik’s the one who’s pregnant,” Lev blurted. He flushed deeper, and then said quickly, “I don’t mean to be rude, it’s just Nik’s day, I wasn’t expecting anything.”
“I got everyone a present,” Caius said easily, unbothered.
Lev blinked down at the box, confusion at why it looked very much like a ring box catching him off guard. The brief glance up at the prince told him he was very amused, and Lev had to wonder if he was a telepath like Biela. When he opened it, though, a locket was nestled inside.
“Oh,” Lev said, picking it up gently. He thumbed it open to find a picture of Cameron, Nik, and Eden each in its own little section. “Oh.”
“Were you expecting an engagement ring?” Caius asked.
“Oh,” Lev spluttered. “No, not expected, I-” He gestured helplessly at the box, flushed deeply. “I love it, really.” He ran his finger over the picture of Nik, knowing his face was softening as he did so. “It’s perfect.”
Caius said, “Well I’m glad. You’re not an easy person to pinpoint.”
“I don’t want much,” Lev said honestly.
Caius shrugged. “Just the important things.”
Lev let his attention track through the room, hitting on Cameron, Nik, and Eden one by one. “Exactly,” he said softly. He switched his gaze back to Caius, offering him a smile. “Thank you. Truly. I love it.”
Caius winked at him, but before he said anything else, Nik made his way over. He gave Lev a pointed look. “What’s going on over here?” Nik asked. “You look like you’re about to ask his hand in marriage, Levant.”
“No,” Lev promised, tucking into Nik’s side pointedly. “I was just thanking him. He got me a gift. See?” He showed it to Nik with enthusiasm.
Nik kissed his cheek. “It’s very pretty. Where’s my attention?”
A laugh bubbled up in his throat. “You’ve got a whole party. I wasn’t gone long.” He shot Caius an apologetic look.
"Well let me make it up to you," Caius said to Nik. "As you're doing all the heavy lifting, you deserve a gift of your own, yes?"
Nik arched a brow. "I'm literally doing nothing other than being a rotisserie oven."
“Nikolas,” Lev hissed, poking him gently. “Be polite.”
Nik raised his brows but Caius only laughed. "Even still. Not easy. I understand you like music?"
"Something like that, yeah."
Caius' smile widened. "Great! I actually worked with a few different craftsmen and musicians to have something built for you. Excuse me."
When Caius disappeared back to the piles of gifts he had brought, Nik turned back to Lev. "Very pretty isn't he?"
Lev could feel heat rising in his cheeks yet again. “Yes,” Lev said primly. “There’s no need to tease"
"I have never teased you a day in your life," Nik said. "Merely stating an observation."
“You tease me daily,” Lev informed him, but he still smiled at Nik, reaching up to brush Nik’s hair from his eyes. “Every single day, Nikolas. Every day.”
“Are you calling a pregnant omega a liar?”
“Maybe so,” Lev hummed. He kissed the corner of Nik’s mouth. “Maybe so.”
Caius came back with an elegant cedar guitar. The gleaming guitar’s finish was clearly done to bring out the natural colors of the wood. Nik’s eyes trailed over the body of the guitar and rested on the careful mosaic beadwork around the hollow. “That design work is specific to Tullum,” Nik said, vaguely accusatory; though mostly amused. “Are you trying to buy me off?”
Caius seemed unbothered. “Not particularly. Just trying to gift you something you would actually enjoy. I find personal gifts are more memorable.”
“Sure,” Nik said, but he was still moving closer to run his fingers along that delicate beadwork.
“Thank you,” Lev said, since Nik didn’t seem inclined to.
Caius merely winked at him.
Lev blushed, since Nik seemed too interested in his new guitar to be embarrassed. He certainly was interested enough to take it from Caius and strum a few bars. Lev elbowed Nik gently. Nik ignored him, but Caius seemed pleased anyway.
Caius dipped himself into a mini bow. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, it’s Cameron’s turn.”
---
Cameron led the prince back towards his office where they could be alone without prying party guests could interfere. He took the gift meant for Darius and sat it carefully on the desk, and turned back to Caius. “I received a call from the witch who will be performing the spell,” Cameron said. “I figured you would want to be informed.”
Caius slipped his hands smoothly into his pockets. “I would.” Caius cocked his head, eyeing Cameron very carefully. “You have certainly come a long way from the bastard whore I met you as.” There wasn’t any disrespect in his words, merely a statement of observation. “Now a lord in your own right, with your own family.”
“I am merely filling in a role that needed filling,” Cameron said. “Though I am grateful nonetheless.”
“Hm.”
“The resurrection,” Cameron said, pointedly, drawing attention from whatever point Caius was clearly trying to make. “Should be happening within the week.”
Caius gave him a look, but let the insolence slide. “So you have someone lined up to be slaughtered for a sacrifice?”
“Slaughtered is a large word for a demon with a weak spine, your grace.”
Caius lifted a groomed brow. “Is that so?”
“The witch’s morals interfered with choosing a warm body, and luckily enough, I happened to have a traitor rotting in my basement.”
Caius snorted. “Traitor? From the rather loud screaming, I did imagine someone was being tortured in this house.” He tapped his temple. “I’d like to see this traitor.”
With little choice to that matter, Cameron led the prince through the house, down to the basement where Sage was still chained up. Cameron had been keeping him well fed and in peak condition outside of his routine torturing. Sage rolled his head towards them, tiredly, but there was a bit of surprise - and a new found fear- flickering in his eyes when he saw Caius next to him.
Caius eyed him slowly, circling the chair bolted into the floor. The impeccable clothes tailored to Caius’ frame were a stark contrast to the sharp bleakness of the room, though Cameron knew the weight of power a good suit held, and how to weaponize it.
When Caius stopped in front of the chair, he had a small smile gracing his face. “I could hear your thoughts from upstairs,” he said. “Clearly you wanted my attention.”
Sage sucked in a haggard breath, trying to not look at Cameron. “Just make him kill me,” he rasped. “I’ve been here for months-”
“My sister was tortured by angels for months on end,” Caius said, unfazed. “She was whipped and beaten and carved up and she hadn’t broken. She hadn’t begged for death, or whatever pathetic attempt at mercy this is. In fact, the difference is,” he said, “this was rather well deserved. Your treasonous actions against your lord led to the events of millions of children dying, so, if you were to die, it’s going to be for something that is definitely not for your benefit.” Caius leaned forward, just enough to keep the blood from touching him. “Don’t worry, your suffering will soon end.”
Caius leaned back and turned to Cameron. “Do what you need. So long as another innocent isn’t taken from these lands, I couldn’t care less.”
Cameron’s mouth twitched, but he just inclined his head.
---
The day had been tense and heavy for Darius. Between getting everything in line with Asmi and Cyrus, and also not returning to the Manor, knowing Destris was lurking the halls, Darius had decided to spend his time that night playing a small game of fetch with Sorin in his demonic form.
A small ball of paper used a rather small amount of energy, so it was easy to keep up. Around three in the morning, they had been playing the quiet game going for the last few hours after Cyrus retired to bed. Sorin had been kind enough to keep him company while his mate slept without him.
It was then that the front door opened silently. Sorin flicked his ears at Cameron, who promptly ignored him and started his way back through the house. Darius rose to his feet and followed him back, veering around him to get to Cyrus before he did to give the witch a heads up.
He touched Cyrus’ shoulder, in effort to wake him. He blinked sleepily at Darius, eyes flashing gold from the amount of swollen magic Cyrus had building inside him. “I’m assuming Cameron is here?” The amount of pure tired that was in Cyrus’ voice didn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated by Darius.
Cameron walked into the room not even a heartbeat later. “Have I come at a bad time?” He sounded very unsympathetic.
Darius flashed Cyrus an apologetic wince.
All Cyrus said was, “No,” while rising to a sitting position. “Are you here to speak to Darius?”
If he hadn’t been watching Cameron’s every move the last five hundred years, he would have missed the way Cameron’s jaw set. “Yes.”
Cyrus gave the smallest of sighs, but stood up. “I have my supplies in my study.”
Unsurprisingly, Cameron merely turned around and most likely started towards the study. Darius simply waited patiently for Cyrus to get ready.
Cyrus rubbed at his face, stifling a yawn with his wrist as he followed Cameron. His movements were slow and heavy, but he only made his way into the study and began lighting candles while Sorin followed, tail swishing over the ground like a fluffy ginger ribbon.
Cameron stood stiffly out of the way, slender hands in his pockets while he waited, unblinkingly in pure silence. Darius did not need his magic to know that Cameron getting here was like pulling teeth.
Darius could only imagine the weight in his chest he’d be feeling at the idea of Cameron avoiding him to the point he has to force himself to be here- to speak to him.
There was relief in Cyrus’ voice as he began the incantation for Darius to manifest to Cameron. When Cameron’s pale eyes slid to him, unreadable as ever, Darius curled a lock of hair behind his ear, if only to relieve some of his own tension. “You wanted to speak with me?”
Cameron’s lips thinned.
Darius gave him the time to be able to put together the words he needed to patiently. Finally, Cameron fixed his jaw once more and said, “I am assuming you still want to be resurrected?”
“Do you still want me to be resurrected?”
Cameron’s eyes narrowed. “The Prince has gifted me papers of your reinstatement as a citizen of Razya the moment you are alive. As if you had never been dead in the first place.”
A citizen of Razya? Darius hadn’t even been considered a citizen when he was alive. Bastards hold no citizenship, no rights, no protection. He hadn’t even had a home before he had been abducted when he was a child. Merely living on the streets. A pretty child with no home was easy prey.
“That was very kind of the prince.”
“Mm.”
“Is that all you wished to tell me?” Darius asked, after a heavy silence.
“I imagine you’re aware that Nik is pregnant.”
When Darius nodded, Cameron said, “I mated him, a few weeks ago when his father tried to stake a claim on him. I used the Old Laws.”
Darius smiled. “That was kind of you,” he observed. “I’m sure Nik adores you very much. He and his child will be safe with you.” When Cameron rose a brow, Darius tried to not snort. “I will do my best to not upset the dichotomy of the house, Cameron. I have a rather pleasant personality.”
“I can see nothing going wrong with that,” Sorin said from the doorway.
Darius flicked Sorin a look. “I’m sure I have no idea what you are referring to, Sorin. I seem to get along rather fine with you.”
Sorin smiled, eyes crinkling. “True enough.”
Darius returned his attention back to Cameron, who was giving Sorin his own irritable look. Though the moment Cameron caught Darius’ eye, his expression returned to neutrality.
“I’m sure you will,” Cameron said, as if Sorin hadn’t spoken a word. “However Nik’s shrunken frontal lobe suggests he will not behave accordingly. So when he eventually does decide to overreact, I suggest you be prepared for it. He’s emotional on a good day and as he is pregnant, he’s even more so.”
“Thank you for the precaution.”
“I thought it would be beneficial.”
Cameron’s pale eyes lingered on him momentarily, flickering in the candle light, before he turned back to Cyrus who was kneeling on the ground near the candles. His eyes seemed rather unfocused. “When can we get this over with?” Cameron asked him. When Cyrus didn’t answer, Cameron moved his attention to Sorin in the doorway. “Focus your witch.”
Cameron rolled his eyes when Sorin hissed at him, but moved to crouch near Cyrus. Cyrus blinked at him, and then fixed his gaze on Cameron. “Pardon?”
“When can we get this over with?” Cameron said, irritably.
He always did detest repeating himself.
“Within the next few days,” Cyrus replied. “I’ve got everything ready. I just need to set it up.”
Cameron pulled out his phone, clearly flicking through his schedule. “I’ll give you the next two days to set up and then I will be here at seven sharp the third day. Be ready by then.”
Cameron slipped his phone into his pocket and disappeared through the door without a glace his way.
Darius bit back his sigh. “I do hope that is alright.”
Cyrus shrugged. “Not that I have much of a choice. But I’ll be fine. Once the spell is done, I’m going to take the longest nap, however.”
“And it will be the most well deserved longest nap,” Darius said, solemnly.
With a tired smile, Cyrus began extinguishing the candles, one by one, coating the room with nighttime once more.

Couldn’t Help It
Dean Winchester x Younger!Reader
Warnings: Angst, depression.
Word Count: 1,069
Summary: Despite the age gap, the reader and Dean can’t help but love each other, no matter what.
For: Anonymous
Request: Do you think you could possibly write a Dean Winchester x female! reader where she is 18/19 and she is insecure because she’s younger, then they get cuddly and fluffy? Sorry if this is weird đŸ„ș
A/N: So, this is long overdue, I got this request like two months ago and I am SO SO sorry for keeping you waiting. I know I originally said I wanted to write something light and fluffy, and there is fluff at the end, but it kinda took on a life of it’s own...
Tumblr media
You knew your relationship was unorthodox, he was a whole ten years older than you for goodness sake. But you couldn’t help it, neither of you could.
It was only meant to be a one-night stand, but the angels on Micheals side had been growing desperate in their attempts to get the righteous man to say yes, and so, they had turned on you. It didn’t matter to them what your relationship was, so long as you had one it was enough, it had very nearly been enough for Dean.
Had it not been for Castiel’s impeccable timing that night, Dean, who could not bear to have an innocents death on his soul, would have undoubtedly said yes to Michael. The four of you had barely gotten out of there by the skins of your teeth.
Determined to avoid another scenario like that, the boys had taken you along with them, leaving you with Bobby most of the time, but still keeping you safe.
And in the end, you were the one there for him.
You were there for him when he turned away from Lisa, the changes to a so-called normal life to unnatural for the seasoned hunter. You sat by him as he mourned for Sam, distracting him from his pain.
You knew it was cliche, it could have been the plot of a movie for goodness sake. But you couldn’t help it, neither of you could.
It started out small, a reassuring squeeze of a hand, a small kiss on the forehead after a particularly tough hunt, gestures so soft no one batted an eye.
Slowly those touches became more frequent, those kisses lingering on cheeks, then lips.
There were small moments of doubt about your difference in age, but those that mattered didn’t seem to care. Bobby had hardly batted an eye when he found the two of you sharing a heated moment in his guest room, merely telling the two of you that dinner was on the table.
But it couldn’t stay perfect, of course.
When Sam came back, not even he knew his soul was gone, but that didn’t make the comments hurt any less.
More than once he had scolded Dean for showing his affection in public, whining that he didn’t feel like bailing Dean out of jail should he be arrested for having relations with a minor; regardless if you weren’t, in fact, underage.
You knew you shouldn’t feel so hurt, he didn’t have a soul for goodness sake. But you couldn’t help it, neither of you could.
You had drifted apart during those months, on more than once you had took to sleeping on the couch during hunts.
When Sam got his soul back you could tell he was regretful, you could feel his awkwardness whenever you and Dean spoke, your clinical words hiding your sorrows. He had tried, on more than one occasion, to apologize, only for either of you to tell him not to stress and that your relationship was fine.
But everyone noticed. Bobby, Sam, Cas, hell, even Crowley noticed, but both of you continued to deny their words, assuring them that your relationship, whatever it had been reduced to, was fine.
When he got blasted to purgatory, your world shattered.
At first you could barely leave your bed, refusing to eat, failing to sleep, and barely talking. You had lost thirty pounds in but a month before you got back on your feet.
After your breakdown, you threw yourself back into hunting, chasing down steadily more vicious  monsters with steadily less regard for your own health. When Sam told you he wanted to settle down with Amelia, you had snapped; cursing him to hell for giving up on his brother.
You knew he had a point, no human had ever entered Purgatory before, let alone escaped for goodness sake. But you couldn’t help it, how could you?
When you weren’t hunting, you were researching, trying everything from spells, to pleading demons for deals.
Nothing worked.
As months passed, you grew increasingly desperate. There were bags under your eyes from going days without sleep, and you ate barely enough to keep you going. The lack of food combined with the brutal work of hunting meant you lost weight at an even faster pace than before.
You were but skin and bones.
With the lack of food and sleep came a lack of energy, and you had to drag yourself around to hunts. Hardly daring to try and consult people in your state, no professional would look like you.
Instead, you ran in head first; with but a guess as to what monster you were facing. You weren’t sure you cared if you died anymore.
Until one time, you almost did. The demon had had little trouble with you, throwing you around the room until your head hit the concrete floor of the warehouse with a sickening crack.
You thought of Dean before you blacked out.
When you finally came to, wrapped in blankets in a warm bed, you thought, for a moment that you were in heaven.
But the room was too clinical for it to be your heaven, too empty.
When the door clicked open softly and you tensed, waiting for the intruder to come in, ready for whoever took you to taunt, and tease, and beat you.
You didn’t expect green eyes to widen at the sight of you, for the glass he was carrying to shatter against the floor.
But it happened.
His approach was slow, as if you were a frightened rabbit, ready to run a a breaths notice; you felt like one anyways.
Your heart pounded in your chest as he approached, barely daring to breath as he took a knee beside the bed.
“Hey sweetheart,”
Your hand, trembling with emotion, reached tentatively towards him, and he leaned into your touch.
“Dean?”
“Yeah, it’s me, sweetheart, it’s me,” you could see the tears gathering in his eyes, tears mimicked in your own.
Where your newfound strength came from you would question later. You launched yourself towards him, cupping his cheeks and kissing him with all your might.
There was no stopping the tears as he returned the kiss, matching passion for passion.
You knew all wasn’t back to normal, you hadn’t seen each other in nearly two years for goodness sake. But you couldn’t help it, neither of you could.

V Prompt: Role Reversal
Title: The djinni, the thief and the magician
[This was hard. It was very very difficult... but fun! Kudos to who guesses from where I’ve taken Kitty’s name and surname as a magician.]
Agnes Pole had a secret, a secret that could have her killed. The fact was, she didn’t choose to keep this secret; it had just happened.
They made it easy, telling you to forget your birth name; but for Agnes it had been impossible. It wasn’t that she didn’t try: at night, when she was still a child, she used to close her eyes, squeezing them hard, and she tried with all her force to expel that memory: her mother’s voice calling ‘Kitty’.
Obviously, she couldn’t do it; and, as much obviously, no one knew it, less of all her master. After all, she was the one to issue Agnes, as her first lesson, to not trust anyone; and, implied, her too. So, Agnes had kept her mouth sealed; she hadn’t even dared to say out loud that forbidden name.
When she looked at herself in the mirror, she saw Agnes Pole: a young woman with short, soft dark hair, her mouth constantly bending in a pleasing smile. She didn’t know how Kitty looked like, except for a lost five-year-old child.
Her sensor net started ringing in her ear; a moment later, at her window a pigeon materialized. Agnes made it come in and immediately it took the shape of a pale-faced young man in a grey suit.
«Mistress» he said, bowing slightly «I think I’ve found him».
Nathanael was her regular demon for a few years, now; it was one of the first djinn with a considerable power that she had summoned, and, in the beginning, she had found it irritating without an exact reason. Really there wasn’t a reason, because the demon was precise, quiet and impeccable. Every magician’s dream.
But it was fussy, fastidious too, and with a hidden slyness capable to turn any order inside out, Agnes knew it. However, it was efficient; and, as Whitwell always said, finding efficient servants, and silent in addition, was extremely rare. So, Agnes had kept it and, in the end, there had been vantages: just to start, learning to give orders precise and crystal-clear. Then, she had found out Nathanael was a real font of knowledge and, if you made it the right questions, you would have obtained all the answers you wanted. If she had to describe her servant with a word, Agnes would have used ‘competent’.
And it really was (take that, Farrar), because it had been successful in individuate one of the thieves of artefacts that were driving all Tallow’s department and police mad.
Agnes, as the Chief of Security’s apprentice, had been placed to investigate on the series of thefts; in the beginning, she had to admit that, as a job, didn’t please her much: she hated work office, she’d have liked more to be thrown in action. Whitwell, in front of her complains, had barely risen an eyebrow. «You’re still an apprentice, Agnes» she had replied. «Be careful to not fool yourself. You’re clever and you have talent, but use your brain before talking. A work office, as you call it, could do you well».
Agnes had bitten her tongue. As she had to do every time she had met Farrar and had to endure a barrage of gibes.
And now, instead
«A very good job. Nathanael» she commented, leant on the car seat.
The young man near her tilted his head. «Thank you, mistress» he murmured, but Agnes could catch all the surprise behind the courteous tone. It wasn’t very usual that Agnes deemed her demon worthy of more than orders, but it was a particular occasion. «If everything goes well tonight, I’ll dismiss you for a while».
«Now let’s not exaggerate, mistress» the demon’s face was always pale and serious, but Agnes thought she could catch an
amused? glint behind the icy eyes.
Oh, why not? It had deserved it, at least. Of course, she would have to do without her most trusted servant, but it would have been a little time. She was perfectly capable to look after herself. It would have been weird, though, not having the tall, lanky shape behind her shoulders, silent as a shadow and as much as loyal

«We are here» Nathanael murmured. «Do you see that corner over there? He passes over there every night to go to his
hideout. I think he has some hiding place under the bricks, because he always takes some minute there. And in that minute, he’s distracted».
Agnes nodded, without tearing her eyes away from the road. She made a gesture towards the djinni, and it slithered out the half-closed window as a curl of smoke.
They didn’t have to wait long: a figure was coming close with quick, measured steps. It stopped at the corner as expected.
And then there was a noise of struggle, a furious shout suffocated, then the boot opened up and something was thrown in.
Nathanael didn’t like very much kidnapping kids; but he didn’t like disobeying orders either and being punished, so there wasn’t a lot of alternatives. Moreover, the kid in question had trashed like an eel and he was able to kick his shin with a boot that must have something of iron, because it stung a lot.
He and his mistress had taken him to an old abandoned library that they had used many times during various occasions. Miss Pole looked at the boy still passed out at her feet. To be truthful, there wasn’t real age difference between the magician and the commoner, but her posture, her clothes and everything made Agnes Pole always look older.
Nathanael looked at her at the corner of his eye while she seemed to review mentally what ask to the commoner. And probably, repeating herself to be calm and rational, a thing that wasn’t always Agnes Pole’s forte, despite her excellent teacher. Nathanael wrinkled slightly his nose thinking about Whitwell. Old vulture.
The boy made a sudden moan and his eyes opened wide. Nathanael saw them searching the room for a way out, then they rested on the two of them.
«Move and my demon will tear you apart».
The boy didn’t move. Then, unexpectedly he made a dazzling grin, shining on his dark face.
«Hello» he said.
Well, that wasn’t the reaction Nathanael was expecting, frankly. And neither did his mistress, holding her lips tight while the commoner kept watching them from below.
«What could have I done to deserve such an honour? Kidnapped by a magician?» he winked  with a mischievous expression, that little did suit a dirty boy, curled on the floor.
Nathanael saw clearly his mistress’ patience decrease; were they alone, he would have whispered to her to stay calm, tranquil: she was in charge, as usual.
But Agnes tightened her fists lightly and took a deep breath. «I want you to answer my questions, quickly» she said. «And maybe I could think even to let you go».
The boy sneered. «Of course, miss magician. And you give me a lift home, don’t you? No one believes it, not even your demon. You caught me, you won. I don’t know what else you want».
«The Resistance. I want your accomplices».
Fell a
curious silence. The boy grew quiet, then he spoke directly to Nathanael. «Did you tell her I’m from the Resistance? Because I stole some scrap metal? Oh dear!» And he burst out laughing so loud that the walls resounded. «I’m sorry, o most powerful magician» he could stammer out «but your demon dropped a clanger here. I work in my own».
«So do you steal artefacts just for an hobby of yours?» Agnes asked, her voice dangerously sweet. «And only magical objects, not simple jewels?»
«Ah, that is a little secret of mine, sorry. Anyway, of course I sell them. At the black market, but that surely you know. And surely you know that they’ll go to the Resistance or whatever. But I don’t want anything to do with them. I work on my own, told you».
Agnes smiled. «So those two
the kid following you anywhere and that girl so pretty
 aren’t they your accomplices?»
A shadow passed on the boy’s cheeky face. Here we are, Nathanael thought.
«No» he spelt put. «They »
«Don’t you think they’ll live better out that hole of yours? Maybe that kid would stop coughing so much».
The boy gulped and stared both in the eyes. «Look. I am a thief, it’s true. But I am not from the Resistance. You can promise me all you want, magician, but I can’t give you what I haven’t, and I haven’t any names nor addresses. If you want to throw me in jail for theft or say that I’m a terrorist, do it. It’s my word against yours, isn’t it?» His dark eyes lingered on Nathanael. «Oh, the demon, sure. You could have me tortured by it. Surely I could sing then, but I wouldn’t trust me too much. Always had a low pain tolerance level».
«Mistress» Nathanael whispered. «A word».
Agnes stepped back and tilted her head toward him. The boy’s sharp eyes kept watching them.
«I think he’s honest, partly. But if he sell magical artefacts »
«He has some communication channel, yes» Agnes sighed and, for a moment, it seemed that her mask was slipping. «I was so close »
«I think» murmured Nathanael «that he could be bought. Making leverage on
his two friends. Bought, not threatened».
Agnes narrowed her eyes. «What should I do? Buy them a house?»
«No» the boy’s voice came suddenly. He must have an exceptional hearing. «No. But there is something I want».

Making Circles - Month One
Square(s) Filled: Fake Marriage for @spngenrebingo
Warnings: Case angst, being fake married to Dean, feels, mentions of death
Summary:  Dean and Y/N have to pretend to be married for a case. But this isn’t any ordinary case. Married couples have gone missing from Albert Lea, Minnesota, every six months for the last few years but there is almost zero evidence. People don’t just disappear like that do they? With Bobby and Sam’s help, plus an ally in their new town, they have just under six months to figure it out. Chances are they’ll survive the case, but will their friendship survive their fake marriage?
Pairing: Dean x Reader
Word Count: 2342
Written for: @spngenrebingo
Beta’d by: @amanda-teaches, who says the nicest things and makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside and also keeps me on a straight line. I heart you! And @alleiradayne for letting me bounce ideas off her, like all the time.
A/N:  This will be six chapter series, one for each month of the case, plus a bonus epilogue. Loosely based/inspired by the song Making Circles by Christian Kane and I just felt this needed to be written. There will be lyrics dispersed throughout the entire story. I hope you love this as much as I do. The nicest thing you can do for a writer is reblog their work and tell them, and others, how much you like it!

Month One
“So get this,” Sam started as Dean and Y/N entered Bobby’s kitchen early one morning. “I think I found a case.” Sam turned his laptop around so they can both see the details.
“You sure this is our kind of thing, Sammy? I don’t know man. This looks pretty normal as far as I can tell,” Dean grumbled, taking a seat.
“What else did you find Sam?” Y/N asked, turning her attention to Sam.
“Well, there have been disappearances going back a few years. Every six months or so another couple is murdered. All of these couples seem normal with blue collar jobs and homes, but from what I was able to dig up, nothing out of the ordinary,” Sam explained. “All the homes of the missing couples have been combed over, but all the evidence is at the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) in Saint Paul and they have a mammoth backlog. We may not know anything for months, even years. Or possibly never. It isn’t exactly high priority, ya know?”
“You idjits better get a move on,” Bobby addressed Dean and Y/N as he poured a cup of coffee.
“Bobby, we’ve got basically no intel. We have no idea what we’re hunting and you want us to walk in there blind?” Dean argued with his surrogate father. “That’s not smart. Besides, why does it have to be us?”
“Oh, you want me and Sam to pose as happily married couple?” Bobby smacked Dean across the back of the head.
“Dean, it only makes sense. Y/N and I get along too well and it would be weird, pretending to be married to a woman I view as my sister,” Sam made a face at the thought.
“Dean, we’ve got time. From this report, the last couple went missing just a week ago. That gives us almost six months to figure it out,” Y/N reasoned as she rose from the table, a smile on her face. “I’m going to go shower and pack.”
An hour later, Y/N and Dean sat with Bobby at his kitchen table, Sam having gone out to produce some documents. “Now, I’ve made some calls to a couple of friends in the area. Dean, Jake has a job ready for you in his shop Monday morning. Y/N, I’ve got something lined up for you at the County Library. Here are the keys to the safe house. My cleaning lady should have it ready to go for you by the time you get there and the cupboards should be stocked.”
“Bobby, I don’t like this,” Dean shook his head. “We have no idea what is going on here.”
“Your brother and I aren’t going to let anything happen to you idjits. I got too much time and energy invested in ya to just let you vanish,” Bobby groaned. “Now, there’s one more thing. Two really. Here.” He handed Dean a small box.
Dean lifted the hinged lid, finding two gold rings inside. The pit in his stomach expanded, knowing these rings belonged to Bobby and his wife Karen, whom he had to kill when she became possessed by a demon. The old man never fully recovered from that. “Bobby
”
“This ain’t no time for sentiments, kid. Just take em, okay,” Bobby stomped heavily from the room, the screen door slamming behind him, making Y/N jump from the sound.
“I guess here goes nothing. Mrs. Winchester?” Dean took out the smaller ring and held it up for Y/N to put her hand out. The ring slid easily onto the fourth finger of her left hand. Dean slid Bobby’s ring onto his own finger. It felt heavy on his hand, or maybe it was just heavy on his mind.
Sam returned a few minutes later with the papers they needed, along with new identification cards. “Here are your clean ID’s and marriage certificate. The house is listed in Bobby’s corporation, so that is not a problem. He also set up a joint bank account in both your names, well, new names. This is your proof of insurance and Y/N, there will be a vehicle parked at the house for you. A very unassuming Honda Civic.”
“A foreign car, Sam! Really?!” Dean protested.
“Actually, Honda manufactures models right here in the U.S., Dean,” Sam informed his brother.
“No way my real wife would drive a Japanese car,” Dean mumbled as he looked over the rest of the documents. “Wait...our new last name is Hetfield? Awww Sammy, it makes me all tingly when you remember the little shit.”
“Shut up Dean,” Sam said, turning to Y/N and handing her all the documents. “Safe travels. We’ll be in touch.”
~*~
“Jesus, I have driven a lot of miles over the years, but this is boring as fuck. There is literally nothing but farmland.” Dean pointed out for probably the tenth time in the last two hours. Y/N thanked her lucky stars that they were almost there.
Albert Lea, Minnesota was less than a three hour drive from Bobby’s place. It was close enough that he and Sam could get there quickly if she and Dean needed back up. With any luck, they would figure out what they were dealing with, and they wouldn’t be here long. On the other hand, six months of normal sounded like heaven to Y/N right now after the last few years.
She turned on her GPS as they entered town, programming the address Sam had given her. Within minutes, they pulled up to a quaint, craftsman style home with a long driveway and impeccable landscaping. Dean pulled into the driveway, cutting Baby’s engine.
“Did you know Bobby owned this place?” Dean looked at Y/N.
“I knew he had a couple of safe houses, but I thought they were all like Rufus’ hunting cabin. Not this. This is going to be like living in the lap of luxury compared to the motels we’ve slummed it in,” she chuckled softly, opening her door and getting out of the car.
Dean followed quickly, opening the trunk to grab their bags. “Motels? Shit, this place is even nicer than Bobby’s. I bet we won’t even need tetanus shots from walking around the yard barefoot!” He laughed, slamming Baby’s trunk shut.
They carried in their bags, not having much from living a life on the road, and walked up the front steps to the door. “Mrs. Hetfield, do you have the key?”
“Why yes, Mr. Hetfield. Allow me to do the honors,” Y/N smiled as she took the key and unlocked the door. Dean dropped his bags and scooped her up in his arms, despite her protests. He walked through the door and set her down on a comfortable looking recliner. “Dean!”
“It’s tradition to carry your bride across the threshold!” He told her, grabbing their bags from the front porch.
They took their time exploring the home. There were three bedrooms upstairs with one full bathroom. The updated kitchen had a small island and new appliances. The basement was fully finished with two small bedrooms and another full bathroom. Y/N grabbed two beers from the fully stocked fridge, as promised, and met Dean in the backyard. There was a two car garage, housing one newer model Civic and a large assortment of tools. It had everything Dean would need to maintain both cars. There was also a small shed in the corner of the yard which contained a lawn mower and a variety of garden tools and supplies.
“Wow, Bobby really set us up, huh?” Y/N turned to Dean as they sat on the double swing on the back patio. It was was a beautiful home and yard. Y/N looked forward to working in the garden, making a mental note to grab some books on the subject.
“Yeah, he did,” Dean sighed heavily, finishing off his beer. “I’m going to go take a shower.”
“Okay. I’m going to run into town and pick up some clothes for work. Do you need anything?” Y/N asked, taking his empty bottle.
“No, I think I’m good. Thanks,” Dean declined, holding the door open for her.
Y/N couldn’t help but see Dean was hiding something, and she knew him well enough by now to see the subtle differences. She decided to let it go for now. It had already been a long day with having this situation thrown at them and the drive. It would take some adjusting on both their parts. She set out in her car, exploring the town a little, finding a couple of diners, coffee shops and a thrift store. She picked out a few new things for Dean as well as a new work wardrobe for herself. Making a quick stop at the butcher shop, she picked up a couple of steaks as well as stuffed burgers, wanting to do something nice for Dean, and well, the man appreciated red meat.
Y/N let the steaks sit out while she started a load of laundry. Dean ambled into the kitchen just as she was putting together a quick salad, the potatoes baking in the oven. “Hey. Thought we could grill, I picked up a couple of Porterhouses.”
“That sounds great. I’ll go get it ready,” Dean acknowledged and slipped out the back door. A few minutes later, she followed, carrying the steaks and a couple of beers, handing one off to him.
“I know we got a lot thrown at us today, but we’re going to get to the bottom of this, Dean,” she tried to reassure him, resting a hand on his shoulder. “I promise.”
“We never go into a hunt blind, Y/N. I don’t care if we have six fucking months or not, this ain’t right, and they both know it, too!” Dean snapped and immediately regretted his words, seeing the look on her face. “Hey, I’m sorry. I know you’re stuck in this, too.”
“It’s okay. We’ll get through this together, Dean. It’s what couples do,” she stated, like it was the most simple thing in the world.
“But we’re not a real couple, Y/N. I’ve never been in a real relationship before, not really, and never like this. This apple pie life we’re supposed to live? We’re used to living a lie on the job, but long term? I don’t know.” Dean sighed heavily, turning the steaks on the grill. “I just don’t know.”
Once dinner was ready, they ate in an uncomfortable silence, both of them lost in their own thoughts. Y/N thinking of ways to help Dean see the positives and Dean working the case in his head, running through the list of monsters he knew and which one could be responsible for the married couples’ disappearances.
Monday arrived quickly, Dean taking off early for his new job at the garage, leaving without so much as a goodbye. Y/N felt her heart continue to sink, and it was only the third day. She readied for work and packed lunches for both of them. She had enough time to swing by the shop on her way to the library.
Y/N pulled up to the garage and stepped out of her car. She walked across the small lot and inside the lobby.
“Good morning, Miss. What can we help you with today?” An older gentleman, about Bobby’s age, greeted her. He was wearing grease covered overalls and a smile on his face.
“I’m Y/N, here to see Dean W-Hetfield please,” she caught herself, covering her slip with a cough.
“Are you the missus? You’re a pretty lady. Dean really out punted his coverage with you, didn’t he?” the old man chuckled, adding a wink. “I’m Jake. Pleased to meet ya.”
“Yeah, I guess he did,” she laughed along with him, knowing Jake already knew their secret and had given Dean this job as cover.
“Hetfield! Yer lady’s here!” He yelled through the door to the service bays.
Dean walked in a few moments later, wiping his hands on a dirty rag. She had seen him work on Baby, and numerous cars in Bobby’s yard, but seeing him now, shed a whole new light on him. This Dean, the one she was fake married to. The one that lived a normal life with a normal job and a wife and a house. She pushed down the simmer in her belly and walked up to her ‘husband,’
“You forgot your lunch, babe,” she smiled, handing him a brown paper bag.
Dean opened the bag, seeing two turkey and bacon sandwiches, chips, an apple and a can of Coke. “Thanks, honey. I guess I was preoccupied.”
“Have a good day. I’ll see you tonight,” she stepped closer and pressed a sweet kiss to his lips. She waved at both of them, exiting the shop. “Nice to meet you, Jake!”
And thus began the routine of her bringing Dean lunch at the shop every morning on her way to work. By the fourth day, she invited Jake over for dinner that weekend. She hoped it might put Dean at ease, having someone on their side locally that knew their real story and he didn’t have to fake it around Jake because of the others in the garage.
Saturday morning rolled around and Y/N had done her shopping, picked up the house and made a pie while Dean mowed the lawn and slow smoked a brisket on the grill. She was settling into their new life fairly well but Dean was having trouble adjusting. He came home late most nights and ate his dinner standing up at the small island.
She didn’t know where he was when he didn’t come home straight away, but the smell of stale smoke mingled with his own scent of coffee, leather and motor oil. At least it wasn’t cheap perfume, she thought. At least this Dean, her fake husband, was faithful to her.

Fifteen Minutes
Monster Prom // No Pairings // 2609 Words // Lyrics by Mike Krol
“What if I told you that the world was gonna end? And you had fifteen minutes to spend with me or your friends?” Vicky sings, bobbing her head to the tune that seemed to be playing in her head.
“What lame shit are you singing now?” Damien demanded, flicking a finger at her.
“None of your business,” Vicky bristled. “Why do you care anyway?”
I sucked in a breath. Vicky was really pushing it now. I think she is the only one with balls low enough to question Damien. Besides me, obviously. Well, Vera and Brian were plenty badass for it too. But only because Vera had enough brain cells to manipulate the way she said it that it looked like she wasn’t confronting him, and also because Brian gave no fucks whatsoever about Damien’s chaotic behaviour. Even now, I shudder to think of some of the arguments Damien and Brian had had.
And speaking of the devil and his green mates, they were huddled together in a manner that only meant no good. Now, Damien had swivelled around to face Vicky, a sneer on his face. I was sure his eyes would flare in rage at her question (they were always somewhat flared with rage), but instead they narrowed and Damien just frowned.
“Because you're distracting me, Brian and Vera from devising a plan to ransack the new substitute’s office with horny epileptics from hell for when he starts looking at our attendance records,” Damien said, gesturing to Brian, who had looked up blankly, and Vera, who was wearing her trademark scowl.
I should've known. Damien had always had a weird soft spot for Vicky (and Oz and Scott, but everybody had a soft spot for Oz and Scott).
“And steal his things,” Vera added. “I heard ghouls were filthy rich.”
“Great,” Brian rolled his eyes sarcastically at her. “So you're just going to waltz into Mr Devido’s office whilst he's being assaulted by epileptic demons and take your time picking and choosing what's valuable enough for your standards, unaware? Great plan, Vera. I thought you were supposed to be a grand schemer.”
Meanwhile, Vicky went back to humming her little tune. Miranda, who was in the middle of braiding Liam’s hair as he was browsing his phone (a seemingly pure act, if you ignored the fact that he was reading erotic gay smut and she kept rambling on her father’s new murderous conquests), looked up at her and smiled warmly. She soon picked up the few words Vicky sang, and began to sing it too, Liam then unconsciously murmuring them too after a while.
“I am, you ungrateful toad,” Vera snapped in the meantime. “Would you be paying attention to anything else around you if you were being grinded on by demons having seizures?”
Brian seemed to mull it over, then he said, “You’ve got a point.”
Polly, who had her head laid in Oz’s lap (poor Oz was trying to do homework, and ignore the heinous acts his friends were planning to commit) and her feet were resting in Scott’s lap (Scott was just chewing on a football, only to stop, look up, and smile adorably at everybody) and was complaining loudly at how bored and sober she was, and how she hadn't got completely wasted in seven hours.
“Seven hours!” She cried out, either to Oz or Scott, but it might as well of been no one, because no one was really listening. “That's the longest I've ever been without drugs and adrenaline coursing through my undead body! Can you imagine? And it's because I'm hanging out with you borings fuckheads. I mean, I'm literally in the lap of somebody doing fucking homework. I haven't even said the word ‘homework’ in centuries. And I'm not even on Oz’s lap in a sexual way so what even is the fucking point–?”
“–And you had fifteen minutes to spend with me or your friends?”
<!— more —>
“What the fuck are you singing?!” Damien roared at Liam, who jerked in alarm, Miranda, who just grinned evilly, and Vicky, who just rolled her eyes at his drama. “It’s going to make me go insane!”
“More insane than you already are?” I prompted, not being able to help myself.
Damien’s scorching eyes turned to me, and I snickered. He’s so easy to piss off.
“Amira,” he growled at me, “tell Vicky and company to shut the fuck up. They respect you for some reason.”
“It’s because she has really fucking good music taste,” Polly answered for Damien. “Like, it’s seriously good.”
Everyone collectively nodded, and I blushed.
“Wow guys,” I said, feeling this was a good time to talk about Rex Orange County’s new album, “it’s not that–”
“What would you guys do if you had fifteen minutes left in life?” Scott blurted, a troubled (yet absolutely adorable) expression on his face.
“I'd probably try to fuck up the world even more,” Polly said immediately, grinning at the thought. “I think I'd try to burn down everything, spray some secret concoction to get people incredibly horny, watch them get at it as they're burning to death, and I plan to do this all while riding a donkey casually.”
“To be honest, I'd probably try to finish this first and foremost,” Liam said, holding up his phone. Then he smiled goofily. “This shit is good.”
“Would you spend it with me and friends?” Scott said, wide-eyed.
Polly and Liam looked at him, at his vulnerable face, and I knew what they were going to say before they said it.
“Of course!” Polly said enthusiastically. “Yeah, doing all that with you guys would make it even more rad!”
“Yeah,” Liam added, but then blushed in that cute, shy way. “But I don’t know how much you guys would love reading this with me.”
“I’d love doing everything with you both,” Scott grinned, his mood instantly picking up, as Polly choked at the statement. He then turned to look at Damien and Oz.
“How about you two?” Scott queried, and I laughed a bit about how Damien’s face scrunched up as he started to think about. No doubt he was using his maximum brain power.
“To be honest, I’m probably the one who is ending the world,” Damien remarked, and everyone started to nod their heads in agreement. “So, sorry about that in advance.”
“I’d probably have to finish this Monsters' History homework first,” Oz said, gesturing awkwardly at his essay he was writing out, “and then I’d probably straighten up all my debts and then–”
“Oh my Satan, Oz, shut it,” Damien said, massaging his temples, as if Oz’s statement caused him physical harm. “It makes me sad, that you would say that. And it also makes me impeccably annoyed with you. And now I feel hostile.”
“When do you not feel hostile, though?” Vicky and I said at the same time, and then we grin at each other and high five.
Damien glared at us, whilst Oz is quick to defuse the fire.
“Well, sorry Damien, but I'm just being honest,” he said quickly, drawing Damien’s attention to him (which is kinda ballsy, if I do say so myself). “But what I do know,” Oz continued bravely, under Damien's smouldering gaze, “is that I wouldn't mind ending the world with you, Damien.”
It's hilarious, seeing Damien’s naturally red face get even redder, and to see Oz realise what he just said and sputter innocently. Vera, however, is not pleased.
“Oh,” she said, sniffing in jealous offence (that takes me all the willpower I possessed not to burst into giggling fits, and I could see I wasn't the only one struggling there, because Polly was just barely keeping it down), “I see how it is. You would destroy the world with Damien, but not with me, Oz?”
“What? No! Of course I would want to do everything with you–” and then Oz’s voice died and Polly finally lost it, which made me burst as well, and the next thing you know Vicky was also giggling along with us. Even Brian seemed to be smirking.
Vera glared at us, which made Vicky and me shut up, and Brian just lost his amused expression naturally, but Polly was undeterred.
“For the record,” Damien said in a weird, insecure, shy tone that made him sound like an entirely different person. “I don't, you know, mind doing homework or whatever nerdy stuff with you, Oz.”
And now Brian was the one sputtering.
“Oh you fucking snot,” he spat, and both Damien and Oz flinched before they could get any more flustered (watching those two try to interact and connect was the funniest shit ever, everyone agreed). “So when I asked for you to hang out with me when I was doing my homework, do you remember what you told me? You told me to get fucked!”
Was it just me, or did Brian genuinely sound hurt? It must've not only been me, because Scott started to pout and put a gentle (albeit big and hairy) hand on Brian’s shoulder, which at least made Brian relax at his touch a bit (if anyone had the power of friendship at their fingertips, it was Scott). Even Liam looked up, vaguely distraught.
“That was only because you had Liam and Miranda over,” Damien, sniffing indignantly. “And if I went, I knew you wouldn't stop making heart eyes at Miranda, so I blew it off to commit tax fraud with Amira. But if you really wanted me to come, then you should've just, you should've just–”
Damien looked at a loss.
“Told him how you really felt?” Vicky prompted, and Damien snapped his fingers.
“Yes!” He exclaimed. “That.”
“What would you do then, Brian and Vera? If you had fifteen minutes?” Miranda asked this time, her eyes shining with curiosity.
“Spend all the millions I’ve earned to hire a gang and assassinate anyone who had ever crossed me,” Vera said without hesitating. “Then, I shall have them skinned and made into fabulous purses. And then I will sell those purses to earn me even more money, and use that to buy us all really expensive, furnished mansions, with servants and multicultural cuisines and everything, so we can live the rest of our lives in absolute luxury.”
Awww. That was actually quite adorable. Vera cares about our lifestyles too!
“And you plan to do this all in fifteen minutes?” Liam asked, deadpan.
“You'd be surprised at how efficient I am,” Vera sniffed, but I didn't think I'd actually be that surprised.
“Definitely not hang out with Damien,” Brian sniffed sourly after Vera had shared. “I guess try to finish off ransacking the new substitute’s office with horny epileptics with Vera. And then, I don't know. Relax and await my death.”
“Well, that's fucking depressing,” Polly murmured to me. “And I didn't know I was capable of getting depressed.”
I snorted. Was she still astounded about how somber Brian was?
“Wouldn't you still have to hang out with Damien to continue your plan with the horny epileptics, though?” Liam asked.
“Well, yeah, fine,” Brian said, not making eye contact with his demon friend (who was trying to make eye contact with him, and honestly, it was shocking how much Brian and Damien got into their own squabbles). “But I don't have to talk to him. That can be Vera’s job.”
“I'm not being your owl!” Vera hissed at him, and she actually hissed. Her small green snakes on her head did too, showing how much she detested the idea.
“What if you were paid?” Miranda queried, probably just out of curiosity, but Vera’s hissing ceased immediately.
Before Vera could discuss any specifics, Vicky butted in.
“I’ve thought about this one,” she said smugly, and no one was surprised. Number one, Vicky had thought about scenarios for everything. And number two, she probably would've thought of this before if she knew the song beforehand. “I would make it my life's goal to find the tastiest flavour of ice cream in all the dimensions! And once I find that ice cream, I will use a device that I would have Calculester make me, that clones the ice cream! And then I will bring all the ice cream back to this dimension and invite all of you guys over and we can eat the ice cream together!”
Everyone seemed to enjoy that idea, except one frowning ghost.
“Um, hello?” Polly asked, raising a hand and gesturing to herself. “Did you forget about me?”
“Of course not!” Vicky exclaimed emotionally. “Caculester is now working on a device that makes food into incorporeal substance that you can digest, Polly. Because, seriously, it breaks my heart that you can't eat. It really does.”
Polly seemed satisfied enough with that answer.
“How did you get Calculester to do that for you?” I ask.
Vicky winked. “Let's just say I turned on my unwavering charm to that library computer. And he didn't stand a chance.”
“If I had fifteen minutes left, I would want to be coronated,” Miaranda said, poshly. “I would invite you all to my coronation, of course. And then once I am mermaid queen I will throw an amazing national party for all of us to enjoy, whilst forcing my endless numbers of slaves to fight each other to the death for our entertainment! Oh, I can see it all coming together!”
Miranda’s expression turned dreamy, which was cute but also quite disturbing since she was thinking about bloodshed. Damien started to nod in approval, though. He seemed to like the idea. Bloody royals.
“I would want to take all of you to the park, where we can have a picnic, and hold hands, and give each other gifts to show how much we care for one another!” Scott said, his tail wagging happily. “And then we can sing songs and die happy with each other, knowing that we love us!”
Scott was so adorable, everyone looked misty-eyed. Vicky leapt up to wrap her arms around Scott, her affection for him seeming to be too overwhelming for her (Scott didn't complain, though). Brian was smiling, and seemed to forget about his brief argument with Damien, because now they were both grinning at each other. Liam was even beaming.
“Ew,” Vera finally said. “I can't believe you all liked that.” She pointed a finger at Scott. “Say that again and you will give me diabetes. I just hope you know that.”
But we all knew she secretly liked the sodding friendship story Scott came up with.
“What's diabetes?” Scott said, bushy eyebrows creasing.
“How about you, Amira?” Oz piped up, and all eyes were suddenly on me. “You haven't said what you would do.”
I mulled it over for a bit, but then spoke up without there being much mental contest.
“Probably make you all listen to the new Rex Orange County playlist,” I said, and Vicky and Damien sniggered.
“You're so predictable,” Vicky giggled.
“What can I say?” I shrug, breaking into a smile too. “My reputation precedes me.”
We all sit there in contented silence for a bit, just enjoying and treasuring one another.
“There's just one problem,” I said, drawing everyone's attention again. “How would we plan to do all of what we all want to do in fifteen minutes? Seems impossible.”
Brian started to smirk, and then Miranda started to smile, and soon Polly was also grinning.
“We’d figure it out,” Brian said. “I bet we would. We've already done so many impossible things in our weirdass lifetimes.”
I shared a smile with him.
“Yeah,” I said finally. “Fifteen minutes is nothing for us.”

The Daughter of a Righteous Man- Chapter 16
Tumblr media
*SEQUEL TO THE LOOK IN HER EYES*
After her husband is drug to Hell, Ava Winchester and her brother in law Sam try their best to do right by Dean and raise her daughter, only to find that good intentions aren’t always enough. Loving someone isnt always enough.
Chapter Sixteen, Give Me These Moments Back
Dean
"It's here," Bobby said, opening the book. "All the apparitions I've seen have had this mark. Did your pastor, Ava?" He pointed to the mark in the book.
"Yeah, Actually. On his forearm. I saw it when he reached for me,” she said, leaning over Bobby's shoulder to see the mark.
"It's the mark of the witness."
"Witness to what?" She asked, raising her eyebrow.
"The unnatural. They all died in unnatural ways... but they didn't choose to rise. Someone made them. Whenever did this had big plans. It's called the rising of the witnesses. It's to fulfill a prophecy."
"What book did you read this in?" I asked, eyeing him.
A smirk came to Bobby's lips. "Revelations."
"As in the Bible?" Lacey asked, sitting down her coffee.
"That's what I said." He showed the book. "According to this... this isn't good. It's a sign."
"A sign for what?" Sam asked.
"The apocalypse," Bobby replied.
We all looked between each other.
"I thought that ended with Yellow eyes?" I asked.
Bobby shrugged. "I don't have all the answers, Son. All I know is that this is one of the first signs of the biblical apocalypse."
"Like, What? Four horses? Plagues? Judgment day?" Ava asked, her eyebrows coming together.
"Yup," Bobby said, curtly. "The whole nine."
"This is why I don't believe in God. If there's no God, well then bad shit happens to good people and that sucks, but if there is one then what the fuck is he doing? Why do good people get torn apart?" I wanted to hit something, burn something down, curse the sky.
"Well it looks like someone cast the spell to raise them. They picked people that hunters couldn't save, to keep us busy. Fuck." Bobby shook his head.
"What? Damn it! So what do we do?"
Bobby rubbed his face. He looked tired. "There's a spell in here to send them back, and I've got all the stuff at my house. So I guess we have to send them back where they came from."
"Great," I groaned. "So we are going to have to leave the warded house and drive to your house."
"It'll be fine," Ava said, reaching for my hand.
I immediately felt better when her fingers were in mine. "Go ahead and gather up some weapons, I'll meet you at the car," I said nodding to Bobby and Sam. I turned to Ava. "You have to stay here," I whispered my voice low.
"What? The fuck I do." She tried to pull her hand away from mine, but I gripped her fingers tighter.
"Someone has to stay here to protect Nel. You're safe. Nothing should be able to get in, we have this place locked down."
She bit her lip, and looked down. "I don't like it. I just got you back, Dean."
"I know, baby," I whispered, pulling her close. "But we have a solution, and I'll be damned if I add your face to the ones I wasn't able to save."
I held her face in my hands and stared into her blue eyes, worried that she would try to argue, but instead she just kissed me with everything she had. I felt a shock roll down my body as I pulled her closer. "I love you."
She opened her eyes and kissed me once more. "I'll love you forever. Come back to me, Dean Winchester, or I'll pull you back by your hair, and I promise you won't like that."
I winked at her. "I promise you that I will."
———————————-
Sam and I got in the car. Bobby had already headed to his place to start the spell. "Let's stop the goddamn apocalypse, again." I groaned trying to force a smile, but i was getting too old for this shit.
"They should really name a bench after us."
"At least." I put Baby in gear and started to drive. Bobby's wasn't far, and so I hoped we would be good to go without anymore visitors, but as per usual I was really fucking wrong.
"Hello, Winchesters,” a familiar voice said from the backseat.
I glanced in the rear view mirror to see Ruby. She had her classic long blonde hair, but she wasn't smirking. She didn't look snarky, she just looked disappointed and a little mad. "Ruby," I growled.
Sam looked genuinely surprised as he turned behind him.
"Wrong,” she whistled. "Ruby was the demon possessing me, but I guess you two never really thought about the girl whose skin she was wearing. Isn't that right, Sam?" Her eyes locked with Sams and he shifted uncomfortably.
"I'm sorry."
"That isn't good enough! You let her ride me. You let her use me. She wore my face. Do you know what that's like, Sam? Do you You know what it's like to watch yourself do horrible things and not be able to speak or move? I was screaming inside of my head and it didn't make a lick of difference."
"Sam, use the salt," I said between gritted teeth. I knew what she was doing, and fuck was it working. I felt like the piece of shit she knew I was.
"You both killed me, and even worse than that, is that you waited to kill me until after you let that demon violate me for months." She hissed, scooting closer and closer to Sam. He winced before taking the salt container and splashing it in her face, sending her away.
"Damn I'm going to have to vacuum the back seat now," I grumbled.
Sam sat, staring at the space her spirit used to posses with a tight jaw.
"Sam, there's no sense in dwelling on the past."
"I didn't even think about the woman she was possessing. How fucked up is that?"
"A lot that we deal with is fucked up, but hey man, if God thinks I'm worth saving then I promise you are. You're forgiven, deal with it."
Sam looked at me like I was full of shit, probably because I was.
"You don't even believe in God, Dean."
I shrugged. "So? You do. That's all that matters."
I pulled up to Bobby's place , and we got out of the car, guns loaded with salt rounds.
"Bobby?" I called, pushing through the front door.
"In the library!" He called out.
I took a step and the front door blew shut, Sam and I turned and we were face to face with Jess, Sam's dead fiancé. If this is what Sam's greatest hits brought him, then I was dreading seeing my own.
"Jess," Sam said, his voice shaking with pain.
"I wish I'd never talked to you in art history,” she hissed.
I only had met Jess the once. She was a pretty blonde. She seemed strong, and way out of Sammy's league. She kissed him like Ava kissed me, she loved him.
"Sammy this isn't real."
She appeared in front of him and touched his cheek, slicing it open with her fingernail. "You killed me. I fucking burned because of you. You're worthless."
"Yeah, I'm done with this," I said, shooting a round of rock salt into her stomach, sending her away. "Come on, Sammy. Let's shut the door on the past, shall we?"
He nodded, glumly, not even bothering to wipe the blood off his cheek.
When we got to the library, Bobby was working a spell and simultaneously fighting off a pair of ghostly twins, like the badass he is.
Sam and I brought up our shotguns and unloaded in the little girls, sending them away. "You looked like you could use a hand." I grinned.
"You boys have impeccable timing." He was holding his iron poker in one hand and a bowl of herbs in the other. "Shit." He said as one of the little girls appeared behind him, shoving her ghostly hand into his back.
"Sammy, the book!" I shouted, as I dove for the bowl.
Sam grabbed the book and with one glance he met my eyes. "Throw it into the fire!"
I nodded, and tossed the bowl into the flames. They shot up bright neon blue and Bobby fell to his knees holding his chest. The three of us were alone again. He eyed me. "Like I said. Impeccable timing,” he grumbled.
"I think the words you're looking for are thank you," I said, standing up.
"Idgits,” he said, shaking his head. "What? Is no one going to help me up, or are you two just going to stare?"
Sam snapped out of his trance like state to lean down and give Bobby a hand.
"So, what? Did we stop the apocalypse?" I asked with false hope.
"Not quite,” a voice said behind me. I groaned internally because I recognized it immediately. I turned behind me to see Castiel, still wearing the same dumb trench coat.
"Nice of you to join us," I grumbled.
"Good job with the witnesses."
"Yeah, about that. Where were you? We could've used some angelic assistance. There are a lot of dead hunters. They were good men and women, they didn't deserve this."
"I had other concerns," Castiel said. He almost sounded bored, and it honestly pissed me off.
"I thought you were supposed to be guardians! You know, halos and harps?"
"You haven't read the Bible, have you? We are soldiers, and you aren't the only one who has experienced loss, Dean. Six of my brothers died in battle today." Castiel walked toward me.
Bobby and Sam were shockingly quiet, but maybe it was knowing what he was that kept their traps shut for once.
"You could've at least given us a heads up, ya dick!"
"I pulled you from Hell, and I can put you right back! So you should show me some respect!" He raised his voice, his jaw tight. "I have other priorities. I am not here to perch on your shoulder."
"That's pretty obvious," I said, clasping my fists at my side.
"Lilith is breaking seals, rapidly. We had more than just this one to take care of."
"Seals?" Sam perked up from behind me.
"The sixty-six seals," Castiel said as if we should know what that means. "Think of them as locks. Lilith is trying to unlock them all. The rise of the witnesses were one."
"But we put them back," I said weakly.
"Yes, but they still rose. We will not win every seal. We lost this one. No sense in dwelling."
"And what happens if they're all broken?" Bobby asked.
Castiel stepped closer to me with a look that bore into my soul. "If all sixty-six seals are broken, then Lucifer will walk the earth."
Ava
I watched Dean drive away through the window.
"I can see your dilemma," Lacey said quietly. "He is dreamy."
"He is," I agreed, touching my lips from where he kissed me. I wanted to be with him. There wasn't anything else.
"You don't seem like the kind to stay behind."
"I'm not. Well I wasn't, until I had Nel," I sighed. "There was no time to argue."
"Did you two plan for her?"
"No." I laughed dryly. "There's no way I could've convinced Dean Winchester to have a baby with me."
"He's obviously in love with you, though."
"Yeah." I smiled. "He is. I know he is, but this life is dangerous. He never thought he could have love, let alone a family."
"You sound like you need a glass of wine."
"Try a bottle." I smiled at her.
"Got any in the kitchen?"
I nodded. "Yeah there's a wine rack on the end of the island."
"I'll pour us some,” she said with a smile before she went into the kitchen.
I sighed, happy that Nel was napping good in the back room.
I turned to go into the kitchen and was face to face with the pastor. "Hello detective."
He shouldn't have been able to get into the house, but there he was. I opened my mouth to speak when his first collided with my jaw. I fell backwards, holding it. "Well that wasn't nice."
He lifted his foot quickly, and it connected with my stomach. I fell onto my back, the air getting knocked out of me. When I finally was able to take another deep breath my eyes fluttered open, and I looked into the eyes of Megan, the witch that Dean had to kill. She was the case that tore us apart.
"Wish I could say it was nice to see you again, but..." She kicked my face, her shoe colliding with my teeth and nose. I could feel blood gushing down my face. My vision was growing black at the edges as they both wailed on me.
"Hey, sorry it took me forever to get the cork out. I guess I'm not as classy as you are. I only use screw tops."
I heard the bottle fall, crashing to the ground in an explosion of glass and wine.
"Lacey..." I gasped. "Get the fire poker... iron... salt..." I was struggling to keep conscious, but Lacey was a good cop. I had to believe that she would be okay. That she could tell Dean I loved him.
The blows stopped and Lacey leaned over me. "I hit them with the iron. What now?"
"Get Nel and run," I gasped.
"Don't be stupid,” she whispered.
I could barely see them flicker back in my field of vision. "Behind you," I whispered as they both held knives above Lacey's head.
Just as they were about to lower them they burst into flames, turning to dust in front of us.
"Okay, okay," Lacey said, pulling me into a hug. "Yeah, I definitely believe you."
Sam came through the door thirty minutes later. Lacey was working on cleaning my wounds, and had just went to the bathroom to get more ointment when he unlocked the front door.
"What happened?" He gasped, running to me. He pulled me into his arms. "Hey,” he whispered, his lips to my hair. "Hey you're okay. They're gone."
Something about the way his arms were wrapped around me protectively, like they had been for months, made me lose it. I gripped his shirt, and I sobbed.
Everything I lost came crashing down on me. The people I couldn't save. The part of me that I'd lost forever when I was raped, and again when Dean died. I mourned the girl I was building myself up to be. I cried, and it shook my body, my bruised or possibly broken ribs sending stabbing pains through me.
"Shh,” he whispered, kissing my hair. "I'm here."
I pulled back from him to look into his eyes. "I've lost so much," I whispered. This was the cry I never allowed myself to have. I let myself crack open and all I could hope is that I'd be able to put myself back together.
He held my face and looked at me like he had many times before. His eyes were shinning and his mouth was open slightly. He was breathing hard, and just as I thought he was about to kiss me I heard the door slam.
"What the hell is going on here?"
Sam turned, his hands still on my cheek as he made eye contact with his brother.
"Ava are you okay?" He glanced at me, and all I could do is nod. He rubbed his face and shook his head. "I should've known. I saw your room. Both sides of the bed had been slept on... when she breast fed you didn't bat an eye... the girl you were seeing... it was Ava wasn't it?"
Sam stood up quickly to diffuse the situation.
"Don't deny it, Sam," Dean said before Sam could get a word in.
"We... it was complicated."
Dean closed his eyes for a second and took a deep breath before he pulled his arm back, sending his fist to connect with Sams jaw.
Sam fell backwards, and I stood up, gripping my side. "Dean stop!"
"I asked you to protect her! To watch out for her, and you fucked her!"
"It wasn't like that!" I cried out. I noticed Sam wasn't fighting, he just stood back up and let Dean hit him again. "We were a mess."
"I don't want to hear it," Dean snapped. I caught a glimpse of his green eyes, and I was surprised. They were wet, and dull. He wasn't angry. He was in agony. His hands were shaking, and his knuckles bleeding. We looked like a hell of a fucking group.
"I need some space," Dean said shaking his head. He grabbed his keys, and pushed through the door.
"Dean wait!" I took a few steps after him, but Laceys hand on my shoulder stopped me.
"Hey, Ave, let him have some space,” she said gently. "Give him some time to process."
I heard the Impala roar to life and skid away. He left, and again it was all my fucking fault.

Bonded Chapter 3
Author’s Not: So, you may have noticed that I change the title. The reason for this is because the silence theme was pretty weak by itself. Also, there is the whole bonded theme, which was meant for comedic purposes. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don’t own any of the Legend of Zelda franchise. It belongs to Nintendo and Shigeru Miyamoto. Please don’t sue! I only create OOCs!

Chapter 3: Adjusting
Zelda placed back and forth in her library. This man who fell from the sky looked like a hylian, but not like a hylian. His skin was gray, tattooed with symbols, and black hair streaked with flicks of silver. His injuries were extensive, and he would be covered in scars. The garb he wore, it seemed like he either came from an ancient civilization, or an arid one. Looking through what was left of the historical texts, she couldn’t find the symbols marked all over his arms. It was frustrating, most of the library that contained historical records were burned by Calamity Ganon. Now, she was stuck with this humanoid creature and no idea if the male wash hostile or not. She sent a messenger to Hateno Labs, but she hasn’t heard back yet. She went back to one historical text, the one of how Hyrule was infected by a blanket of darkness and only a descendant of those banished by the goddesses could cure it. The hero and the goddesses’ descendant had a trusted ally who destroyed the mirror, returning to the dark realm.
The story was only briefly touched on when she was a child, but after the mirror was broken, there was to be no contact from the dark realm. Then again, there were ways to reach the sacred realm, not just the triforce. Still, if this humanoid creature was a threat to Hyrule, she would quickly put it down. She was brought out of her thoughts by a soft voice. “Your highness?”
She looked up from her notes to look at a mousy maid. She was small in stature, and even tinier in voice. Thinking, she couldn’t come up with the maid’s name. Then again, she had just gotten a new staff after Hyrule Castle was rebuilt. “Thank you.” She said, “Has this
person, exhibited any violent tendencies?”
“No, your highness. Though, he didtell the doctor that he wished to speak with you.” “He? This is a male?” “The doctor confirmed it, among other things.”
“Excellent I’ll be there shortly.” The maid sighed as she saw Princess Zelda grab a quill and paper with a giddy expression. As she ran past the maid, the worker sighed. Many wondered if Zelda was meant to be a researcher rather than a monarch. Princess Zelda hurriedly walked down the hallways of her castle. She often marveled at how the master builders were able to restore her home to its formal glory. A brisk walk made it a short distance between the available rooms and the library. The guards bowed and opened the door to the doctor and the inhabitant. He looked male, with bandages adorning his chest. The old royal doctor stood and bowed. “How is he, Erol?”
“Besides the two broken ribs, the second degree burn to his leg, and the dislocated shoulder? He should be fine. He speaks very well, and I see no signs of a concussion.”
“Is this Princess Zelda?” asked the male
She looked at him for a moment. His eyes were red, and he had black splotches everywhere, with one on his left eye. “Why yes, I am.” She said, “Can you understand me?” “I can understand you fine. To be honest, I’m actually surprised you didn’t kill me on sight.”
“I see no reason to kill a non-hostile creature?” “Creature? Princess Zelda, my name is King Stil of the Twili, descendant of the interlopers.”
Saphira could only wince as she heard King Dorephan bellow at his son. After the bonding ceremony, Prince Sidon had to sleep overnight in the room next to Saphira’s, and of course the rumor mill started. Both were summoned to the King’s chambers, which made Saphira shake in fear. She had never seen a creature so big, and she was hoping that she wouldn’t be executed for such a stunt. Sidon had tried to assure her that this wouldn’t be the case, but she still folded her arms to cover her twitching fingers. King Dorephan pinched the bridge of his nose. “Father, I assure you that Saphira has no ulterior motive.” Said Sidon
“How do we know this?” asked Mizu, “Ever since this
thingarrived, we’ve had nothing but misery. First the poisoning from that shadow, then a third of our troops are dealing with a deadly poison, and now bonding with our Prince?”
“She didn’t mean for that to happen. She was just trying to communicate.” “And she couldn’t find another way?”
“She is standing right here.” Snapped Saphira, “And no, I don’t have another way, considering normal languages takes years to master. Plus, I already know how to cure them and I told your royal doctor how to cure them.” “Witch!” hissed Mizu, “You did this to your people!” “Enough!” bellowed King Dorephan
Saphira stepped forward, going down on one knee. “Your Majsty, my intent was to warn your people of the creature that passed through our portal.”
King Dorephan looked at the girl with wisdom in his eyes, then looked at his son. He lowered his hand. “Rise child, and come here.”
She looked back at Sidon, who got closer and held her hand. A feeling of calmness washed over her as he led her to the King’s hand. She stood her back rigid but her left hand twitching. Sidon gave her right hand a squeeze for reassurance. “Tell me what was your intention.” Said the King
“I wish to warn the people of this land of the demon that plagued our lands, killed all our food, and forced us to flee to this land. The demon, Lenora, destroyed everything because we refused to bow down to her whims. She possessed our Queen, and created a King for herself, a usurper named Aghanim. I apologie your Majesty for anything I did, but I did notmean to bond myself to Prince Sidon. I don’t plan on marrying him or any other man.” A tug of hurt crossed her and she felt her hand being let go. Out the corner of her eye, she could see Prince Sidon turning away. “As priestesses, we are to remain chaste, a conflict of feelings would only desecrate the oath that we took as teenagers. I willfind a way to break this bond between us.”
King Dorephan nodded and lowered his hand for the two to step off. That pang of hurt in her chest seemed to get heavy, especially when she looked at Prince Sidon, who was looking away from her. “Very well, Mizu, make sure Saphira has access to the library.” Mizu balked at his King and then compsed himself. He bowed and walked away, glaring at Saphira on her way out. King Dorephan sighed, looking away for a second before looking down at the two of them. “I hope that you canbreak this bond.”
“I’ll do my best.”
With one last bow, she left the room quickly after Sidon. He walked quickly, with her following briskly after him. The hallways became familiar to her, and the Prince stopped before an ornate set of doors, with the symbol of the Zora above it. She could see the Prince sigh before turning to look at her. His arms were folded and he looked down at her with a look of contempt, but she could see the look of hurt in his eyes, and in her heart. “Prince Sidon?” she asked
“Don’t you have somewhere else you could be?” he sneered
“Is there something you need to talk to me about?” “After you rejectedme? I don’t think so.” Saphira felt guilt knot in her stomach. She didn’t remember outright rejecting him, but she knew she was impeccable in her words when she stated that her intention wasn’t to marry Sidon. Sure, he was a cute man and, wait, cute? She felt her face flush and then she cleared her throat. “Maybe we should talk about this in private?” Sidon pinched the bridge of his nose and led her inside. She gave an apologetic look the guards before going in, but it didn’t seem to faze them. She shut the doors behind her and then looked at a pacing Prince Sidon. “This is not like me.” He said, “I’m sorry.” “Well, I figured it had something to do with the bonding ceremony we did. Maybe it enhanced our feelings and made is more attracted to each other.” “Yes, well it’s hard to turn down a beautiful woman.”
Saphira blushed again and looked away. Sidon could feel a pang of sorrow in his chest, and watched as she stood defensively, back towards him. “Don’t lie. I’m the only Twili you’ve seen. When you meet my people, you’ll find someone even more beautiful.” Sidon puckered his lips for a moment as he felt despair creep into his heart. He walked over and put a hand on her shoulder. “When I say you’re beautiful, I meant it.” She brushed him away before turning around. He could feel the despair getting lighter, slightly. “You’re only saying that because of the bonding. When I find a way to break it, you’ll be back to normal.”
“Well until then, I’m going to show you around the kingdom.”
“How? Sunlight is very painful if you haven’t noticed.” “Maybe your cloak.”
“Not enough. Besides, I don’t wan to keep getting it dirty. I’m guessing black cloth isn’t in demand.” Sidon scratched the bottom of his chin. Cloth wasn’t necessary except for special occasions. “Maybe the hylian merchant has something.”

The Best and The Worst
Tumblr media
a/n: ooohh look at me writing for someone other than Jihoon and Soonyoung for a change. if this looks familiar, well congrats, the beginning parts were from The Best and The Worst excerpt that I wrote when I opened request for made-up fic titles. I really liked this one and turned it into something a little longer.
warnings: there’s like one swear word.
Someone once told Minghao that he should find someone who’s seen him at his best and at his worst, for that person must have loved him so much to stay with him when he was both an angel and a demon.
Minghao doesn’t think he knows anyone who had been there for him. Jun would be a close candidate, but he wasn’t going to be dating Jun any time soon.
“Hey.” Minghao kicked you from under the seat.
“Ow. What the hell.” You whispered to him. You had meant for the both of you to study in the library but Minghao was more interested in other things than learning what he called the ‘nerd’ stuff.
“Have you ever seen me at my worst?” Minghao twirls the pencil in one hand while the other rest against his cheek.
Your eyes went back to where they had left off in the textbook, “Every day is your worst.” Minghao kicks you once more and you let out a loud gasp, “Minghao!”
“Answer.”
You glare at him, deciding to entertain his mind for a while as a study break. You ponder the thought, staring at the ceiling for a moment, “First semester of University. When you debated whether or not you should drop out and go back home.” Minghao looks at you puzzled, “Your family was having financial problems, so you started working two jobs, full time, one in the day and one at night and then scheduled all your classes to be online.”
“Oh yeah! Man, I don’t remember even doing the assignments, or even the final exams but I finished them all of a sudden. I guess must have finished them when I was dead tired.”
You nodded, bringing your eyes back to your textbook once more, “You didn’t.” You began to scribble notes down on a piece of paper, “I logged into your account. I finished it all for you while you were sleeping during finals week.”
Minghao stares at you who was acting so nonchalant. You saw him at his worst, you helped him at his worst without him even knowing, and he fell in love with you without him even knowing.
“What about my best?”
“Hm?” You stopped sipping your drink, the coffee burning your taste buds slightly, creating a nice sting as you looked at Minghao, “What are you talking about?”
Minghao straightens his back, leaning against the cafe counter, waiting for his own cup of coffee, “In the library today, I asked you when you saw me at my worst. What about my best?”
You scoff at his words, “If you wanted a compliment just say so Hao,” you turn your back to him, preparing your exit.
“Wait!” He doesn’t bother to let the barista finish calling his name before he catches up to you. He shivers at the cold air, bumping his shoulders with yours, and he feels his heart skip a beat, “Just tell me.”
You hum, your breath letting out foggy air as you breath. Your lips moved upwards, an impeccable grin upon your mouth, “Junior year of university. When you finished the keg at Seungcheol’s party.”
“Shut up!” Minghao shoves you with his shoulder, causing laughter to escape from your mouth. He recalls the night he had gotten incredibly smashed from the keg party. His cheeks flush, it wasn’t from embarrassment or shame, it was from your constant giggles, the tune of your happiness made his entire body melt.
He opens the door for you, letting you enter the building first, “Come on. Seriously. My best?”
You blew a raspberry, “Junior year of university.” Minghao rolls his eyes and you slap his arm knowing he’d want to chew you out if you mentioned the keg party once more, “I’m serious this time!” The elevator dings as you two step into the small space, “Remember when we all went to that night festival dead in the middle of the night.”
Minghao’s lips automatically forms a smile, “Yeah, the one Soonyoung woke everyone up for at one in the morning by coming to all of our apartments.”
You nodded with an amusing chuckle, “And do you remember a little dance competition happening at the festival.”
He raises a brow, “You mean the tiny stage where they were handing out participation trophies for dancing. That’s my best moment? Really? You’re so weird.”
“No!” You cry out, “I wasn’t finished!” The elevator slightly shakes at your stomping foot, “When you were on stage that day.” The bell rings as the door opens to your floor, you and Minghao leave respectively as he holds onto your words, “You were so free, you know. So full of creativity, you were having so much more fun dancing on that tiny stage than when you stood on the big university stage.”
You two pause at your door, your eyes sparkled when you looked at him, an incredible smile on your lips sent his stomach flying, “You were so stressed over the big dance recital, but when you were on that stage, it’s like you were letting out everything you were holding back. and when you got that tiny participation trophy, it seemed as though you enjoyed it more than when you won first place at the recital.”
Minghao felt his heart call to you, he felt everything in his body wanting to just grasp you.
Your words hugged his heart, it made him warm, soft, energized even. Days passed, weeks, and what felt like eternity ever since that day. He watched as you giggled profusely at his jokes, screamed at his remarks, and pulled his heart strings whenever you spoke even a word to him.
“What do you think?” You tilted your head to him from the opposite side of the table.
You two were once again back in the library, studying once more for a class, in the exact same spot he had fallen in love with you. He wasn’t listening to a word you were saying, his eyes stared longingly at you, longingness that made him want to hold your hand and embrace you.
“What?”
You glared at him, “Were you even listening at all!” You rested your chin on your knuckles, “What are you even thinking about. I’m surprised your head could think that long.” Your hiss when you feel his foot collide with your shin, “anger issues.”
“Do you remember sophomore year.”
You rub your shin to alleviate the pain, “yeah, the year you became a pain in my ass.” You feel the shift in the table, quickly turning to the side screeching, “stop kicking me!”
Minghao can’t help but to grin at your tiny screech, the cutest tone you’ve ever given him, “I was just thinking, about the time you were so stressed about exams, you stayed up for three days, cried over the phone, and had a literal meltdown in your living room when I came over.”
“Gee, thanks Hao. What an appropriate time to remind me of that.”
Minghao leans on the palm of his hand, “You were so tired, so I put you to sleep. I emailed all your teachers that you would be missing class the next day, and even got you the next day off of work.”
Your lips part slightly, “Are you trying to blackmail me or something?”
Minghao shakes his head, “I think that was your worst. You’re low point.”
You’re puzzled, “What are you talking about?”
Minghao stares into your eyes, savoring the beauty in them, “Someone told me once that you should find someone who’s seen you at your best and worst. Because the person ends up seeing you when you are both an angel and a demon, and if the person stays, then they obviously stayed because they love you.”
“What are you saying?” You remain puzzled at his words.
“I’m saying. Even at your worst, your low point, I still love you.”

"What the hell are you doing here?" Slowly, his head turned towards you with a cold glint in his eyes as he stared at you and adjusted his glasses. "I don't see how that is any of your business. However, to answer your question, I am here on behalf of my master's orders." Your eyes automatically narrowed. "Lord Trancy gave me his word that he would not give Ciel an invitati--" He took a sudden step forward, forcing you to stand your ground and stay still. "My master gave me an order that I cannot disobey. Not that you know what that feels like anymore." His head tilted to the side. "Despite that, you should know how humans are. They'll turn on you in a second." Your eyes grew colder as he continued talking. He was tall and handsome, but a pretty face wasn't going to get him out of this. "Does that mean you're only doing this for the sake of your master?"
As you spoke you lifted your head to meet his eyes with yours. He quirked an eyebrow, looking unimpressed. A cruel sneer formed on your face. "From what I see, what you truly desire is to have a worthy soul to consume. And what your master has to offer is most definitely not enough. That tells me there is more than one person who wants my master's soul." He leaned forward, eyes bearing straight on mine. "I'm ignoring your accusation. Know this, you were lucky enough to avoid any order of having you killed. Especially in this time where you have no mate to protect the innocence you hold as a feline demoness." Your hands twitched and you could feel a vein pulsing in your forehead. "My, so quick-witted to change the point of direction." His gaze momentarily flickered behind you to where Sebastian and Ciel were. "I'm still attempting to understand why exactly it was him who you chose to mate with." Your lips pressed together into a thin line. "I wouldn't ponder too much, you might hurt yourself trying." His eyes snapped back to you in slight annoyance. "I wonder, how it feels to press yourself against a mate that throws himself on top of others. Then again, you do have the freedom to fornicate with whomever you want, so I guess you have no limitations." Your jaw ticked at his words. "By the tone of your voice, I'm assuming you believe you are better than Sebastian. If that's the case, then I feel inclined to remind you..." "Remind me of what in particular?" You closed in the distance between him and yourself. Your voice lowered, almost to a whisper. "You're nothing with that master's collar around you." For a brief moment, he became speechless, then stepped back and eyed you suspiciously. "Your determination is relentless. It's intriguing, really. What are you hoping to gain out of insulting me?" You took a moment to also step back and place one hand on your hip and the other to your forehead. "Well, I was hoping for a battle of wits but it would feel wrong to continue trying when that person is helplessly unarmed." With a small chuckle to yourself, you turned away and took a step back toward the small room where Ciel and Sebastian were, but you momentarily stopped and glanced at him over your shoulder. "Besides, it's not like I actually see you or that master of yours as a threat. My goal is done, after all. He is no longer of any use to me." You flashed a closed-lip smile and took the rest of the steps to the room. Without looking back at him, you knocked on the door to the room. Ciel ceased his ranting toward Sebastian to open the door, sharply answering. "What?" You leaned inside and placed a hand to cup over your cheek. "Pardon the interruption master, but perhaps we should start focusing on our task at hand now?" He pondered for a moment then huffed. "Fine, I suppose." He turned around to Sebastian. "We'll talk more about this later Sebastian, for now, let's go." You held the door open for them as they exited the room and Ciel paused to put on his coat. "Let's go." ●●● As Sebastian pushed the door open, Ciel stepped over the threshold and looked over the bodies that filled the train car. His eyes went to a man who was loudly bragging about himself, women surrounding him as he told them how he had discovered the mummified remains of the great Pharoah Smenkhare. Ciel couldn't help but snicker under his breath. "How cross for a man to brag about robbing a grave." Sebastian smiled to himself. "I was fortunate enough to have met the Pharoah in his lifetime, actually. I found him to be an affable man of impeccable virtue." Ciel sighed irritably. "You really must control what you say. Y/N doesn't know you aren't human, don't bring any unnecessary attention to yourself." Offering only a hum to Ciel's statement, Sebastian paused to rub his chin as he thought back to when he caught a glimpse of the mummy. "It's odd. Even taking into account the desecration, his face is quite different than I remember." This made Ciel turn his head toward Sebastian. "The mummy is a fake, then. Perhaps that means the archaeologist is our kidnapper." Sebastian lightly shook his head. "I couldn't say, my lord." "Oooh!" Both of their attention went to a man near the back of the car, hunched over, his eyes wide in a crazy state as he read over what appeared to be several books of the train's timetables. As he loudly went on with excitement about all the different times, Ciel narrowed his eyes in curiosity. "Is he reading the timetables?" Sebastian offered a chuckle in response. "Yes, it appears so. In fact, I'd say he's developed a rather unhealthy obsession with them." By the sound of a door opening, Ciel moved his attention to the back door opening where you and the train conductor walked in. "Look, there's Y/N." Sebastian turned his head to the both of you as Ciel began taking steps over to reach you. Unfortunately, he wasn't looking where he was going and ended up kicking a bag that rested beside one of the seats. "Careful! Ya damn brat!" Ciel instantly stopped and turned his head to the voice that rudely spoke to him. Sebastian smiled and placed a hand over his heart as he addressed him. "I see you're from Japan, my good sir." His eyes traveled down to the bag Ciel had mistakenly kicked and reached down to touch it. "The scrollwork on your furoshiki wrapping cloth is exquisite--" Instantly, the man charged forward and grabbed the bag off the ground to wrap it in his arms. "Hands off! This is a family heirloom!" Ciel narrowed his eyes at the man's odd behavior at the same moment you walked up with the train conductor. As you came up beside them, you turned your head toward the loud man. "Hello, is there a problem here, sir?" He shot a finger out at Sebastian with a glare. "That bastard nearly ruined a cherished value of mine." He moved it over to Ciel. "And that brat probably damaged it with his clumsiness! Tell them to keep their paws to themselves!" You let out an exaggerated gasp and dropped to one knee. "In that case, my sincerest apologies. Please forgive my master for his rudeness." He huffed and said nothing in reply. "Oh, that's not necessary, miss." You lifted your head to be met with an old woman stepping over to you. She patted your arm and turned to Ciel. "I'm sorry, my boy. He's so stubborn when it comes to his things. Please accept this as an apology." She then brought up a tray of what appeared to be three different types of rice balls. Sebastian leaned over with a smile toward her. "Thank you, but my Lord has already taken his tea." She smiled warmly and bowed to Ciel. "Oh yes. Of course, I understand." She then decided to go around the rest of the car, asking every passenger if they wanted one. "Would anyone else care for one? I have plenty." You straightened up and watched her as she did while Ciel whispered under his breath. "So, how did it go?" You tilted your head when a man rudely declined the old woman's food, claiming how he didn't want to catch coli from it. "Everything is set, master. I told the conductor of this train what was needed and he is willing to cooperate in any way we need him to." He slightly nodded. "Good, that's one less problem to worry about." "You know nothing! That isn't true!" Instinctively, you pushed Ciel back when the old Japanese man shot out of his seat and ran over to the rude man was who had insulted his wife. Then out of nowhere, in an attempt to stop the commotion, a priest stood from his seat who had noticeable tattoos adorning his arms and began to pray. "Please, calm yourselves. Sir, don't you think it ungenerous to dart that attitude when these travelers have traveled so far to our great country?" Before you could comprehend what was happening, the whole room was filled with chaotic fighting with the priest still praying and the insane man in the back still obsessing over his timetables. You couldn't help but let out a laugh at the scene in front of you. "My, what a thrilling stir of chaos." All heads turned to the door beside you as a man suddenly slammed it opened, making his presence known throughout the entire car. "Everyone, please, control yourselves!" The second he removed his fedora and hopped over to stand in the center of the car, you realized who he was. 'Inspector Abberline's brother.' "Oh, this will be interesting." He outstretched his arms as he addressed everyone. "Calm your tempers, resume your seats! I can understand why you're all uneasy. It's true we're transporting an assassin on this train, but you mustn't worry." He chuckled loudly, completely missing the scared and shocked faces of everyone inside. "He's being kept under strict armed guard at all times. He's restrained and unable to move. But fear not..." He finally opened his eyes and once he saw their expressions, his smile faltered. "Oh dear." With you giving only one glance at Sebastian, he lifted Ciel up and out of the pathway of the mob of people that rushed out of the room in screaming terror, who didn't care that they were all trampling over Abberline in the process. Once everyone had left, the three of you stared down at the pancaked Abberline and Ciel spoke. "I recognize him from somewhere." The moment Ciel had spoken, Abberline lifted his head and once he saw who was standing over him, his face lit up and he immediately stood from the ground. "Oh! If it isn't the Earl of Phantomhi--" Unfortunately, he tripped over himself before he could continue his sentence. You hummed as Sebastian placed Ciel back on his feet and you turned to him. "Well, now that's over, would you care for some lunch now, master?" He shrugged. "I don't see why not." Turning back around, you tilted your head at Abberline as he struggled to get up. "Will you be joining us, inspector?" He slowly rose up a finger. "Yes, that would be lovely, thank you." ●●● Abberline let out a sigh as he stared down at the meal adorning his plate. "Ah, real pie and mash really brings back memories. Traditional English food, just like mum used to make." After taking a bite and moaning in heavenly food pleasure, he turned his head on the other side of him to the table where Ciel sat, along with you and Sebastian across from him. "I say, quite a fuss back there, wasn't it?" As Ciel responded, you could hear the sarcasm laced within his voice. "Oh yes, a riot stampede. If only we knew who's fault it was." He took a bite of his own food before continuing on. "Should you be here? Sir Arthur is sure to call you on account if he knew you dined with me." Abberline scoffed and waved a hand at the thought. "Oh, pish-posh. I didn't want to pass up the rare opportunity to get to know you. It's something I've waited for. You see, my twin brother spoke a lot about you." Ciel paused to clarify what he just heard, then murmured to himself. "Twin brother? You mean there's more than one of these idiots wandering about the world?" You couldn't help but look at Sebastian from the corner of your eye to find he had the same smile displayed on his face as you did. 'Oh my, this is getting awkward.' The small smile that was on Abberline's face disappeared as he looked down at his food in thought. "I miss him. I wish we could've shared this meal together, I think he would've enjoyed it." In that short moment of silence that followed Abberline's sentence, you began feeling the presence of something else in the room, along with the feeling of eyes burning the back of your head. Slowly, you turned your head and the moment you saw who had been sitting at one of the other tables behind all of you, every muscle in your body twitched. The air became so brittle it could snap, and if it didn't, you might've. Claude sat quietly at one of the unoccupied tables behind you, sipping tea out of golden colored cups and a teapot matching them. It took only a second for his eyes to meet yours, and the moment they did, yours became still and threatening. Ciel took a moment to glance up and noticed what you were looking at. "Y/N, is anything wrong?" Sebastian had actually noticed Claude before you had and looked back to Ciel with a smile. "I'm sure it's nothing, young master." You took a few seconds to speak because you made out a smirk appear on his face that automatically set alarms off in your head. You suddenly stood up, determined to leave the room. "Perhaps we should depart now." Ciel craned his head up to you, feeling confused by your sudden action, but still slid out of his seat nonetheless. "Oh, all right then." Sebastian stood up after you and allowed you to walk in front of him. As the three of you passed by Abberline, he shouted after Ciel with food still in his mouth. "Oi, Ciel! If you don't rest yourself between meals, it'll ruin your stomach!" The last seconds of you closing the door behind you was of both Abberline choking after his sentence and Claude watching your every move. Your eyes flashed momentarily demonic, warning him silently before the door closed. 'Just you wait, Trancy...Just. You. Wait.'
