a/n: i was gonna write this for ace but i felt like i already had a similar fic for him :( but i need to do him next bc i miss him BAD!!! heavily inspired by juno by sabrina!!!

-zoro isn't used to people being so straightforward and brave around him. usually others see him and immediately run off. so he has no idea how to react when you come up to him one day and just shamelessly flirt (terribly) with him.

"hey," you say cheerfully as you pull up a chair next to him at some random bar. he just grunts and doesn't even spare you a glance.

you frown, but decide that you're gonna get him to talk to you no matter what.

"what's your name, sexy guy?"

this definitely catches his attention because no one has ever said anything so absurd to him. and he does give you attention, it just isn't the kind that you expected. he's making this face at you, and on top of that, he doesn't even answer the question. he isn't sure if he's bothered more by the fact that you were being so direct or the fact that you called him sexy guy.

-imagine the shock on his face when you come back the next day with your friends and high-five each other when you point zoro out to them.

"hey again!"

"get out of here."

at least he actually spoke this time.

"you know," you start. and there's a mischievous look on your face that makes zoro's stomach churn. "my house isn't far from here."

"good, then you should go home."

-he's actually furious and kind of afraid the day you show up on the ship with luffy right next to you.

"we have a new crew member!"

all the color drains from his face and he feels like he's on the verge of passing out. he couldn't believe that the newest crew member was another weirdo.

-you follow him around the ship all. the. time!! and at first zoro is super irritated with it. sometimes he'll yell at you, at times he'll even pick you up and take you into a different room himself.

and of course, the entire time you're in his arms you're just squealing about how you just knew zoro was so in love with you.

but one day zoro just gets used to it. he just lets you follow him around and sometimes you'll even have actual conversations with him.

-he still thinks you're insane though, especially when you're winking and making eyes at him when he's just trying to eat his meal in peace. or when you're constantly trying to invite him to your bed, and suggesting doing a certain activity on it.

"you know who you remind me of?" he asks you one day, while he lifts his weights.

"who?" and you're 100% expecting him to name someone incredibly beautiful.

"that stupid love cook."

your heart shatters. you can't understand why he would say you remind him of sanji, when you find that idiot unbelieveably annoying.

-and zoro honestly thinks that you aren't seriously into him, you're just weird and crazy. but!! that's not true at all. following him around the ship, learning more about him and seeing how caring he is underneath that gruff exterior lead you to really catch feelings for him. you still wanted to take him to bed though!

-one day you're sitting next to robin while she reads her books, sulking and complaining about zoro. "why isn't he in love with me? am i ugly, robin?" and she's giggling and thinking about how stupid the both of you are, because she thinks that zoro clearly has feelings for you too. she doesn't tell you this though, just to mess with the two of you.

-he'd realize how he feels about you when you come back from a mission with usopp, nami, and chopper and you're badly injured. as you're getting rushed into the ship, you hear zoro yelling at the other three. despite being in serious pain, you can't help but feel your heart swell. he was worried about you.

"why are they the only one injured? what the hell were the three of you doing?" zoro barks. he can't even bring himself to come in the room that chopper was treating you in. he didn't want you to see him that angry while you were already in pain.

-when he does show up to visit you, he's surprised to see you already sitting up. and you have a goofy look on your face, one he knows the meaning of all too well.

"i knew it zoro! you love me so much!"

"what the hell are you on about? you should be resting right now!"

you wrap your arms around him, surprised when he doesn't immediately push you away. he's extremely stiff and he has a mean look on his face, but he lets you hug him. and he's never done that before.

and you're used to him rejecting you every day, so now you're not sure what to do when he allows you to show him affection. the two of you sit in the quiet room, with only the sound of the waves and soft breaths filling the air.

"why aren't you pulling away?" you ask him softly. it's the quietest he's ever heard you speak, and he feels a little bad that you're even asking him that.

"don't die," he grumbles. "i'm gonna be annoyed if you do."

"oh my god, zoro," you gasp. "you are in love with me!"

"i'm not in love with you!" he snaps as he removes your arms from his body. "i'm just telling you not to die."

"so does this mean you want to go on that date tomorrow?" you ask hopefully.

he huffs and starts making his way to the door, but you hear him mumble a yes before slamming the door shut.

So I’ve had this au idea that I’m sure has been thought of b4 that the entire team of Bolas got stuck behind (maybe minus Phil) instead of just Baghera and Cellbit

I have this whole thing about what like items would be used to hunt the participants down each member would use and kind of what each of their masks would look like/resemble

CELLBIT

Uses a machete/knife weapon

Mask looks very similar to the mask he wore in the purg 2 livestream, a half-mask deal covering the lower part of his face with like cool black and red motifs like the armor + little spikes. He has goggles that match as well

Craziest out of the bunch. He’s having a blast

BAGHERA

She still has a chainsaw. I feel if I were to take it away it would be a crime + she would definitely not let me even if I tried

Her mask is a debate between a half mask like Cellbit w/o goggles or like a duck mask with a big window for the eyesight type deal because I still can’t decide what her actual design looks like (like human or anthro duck)

If not for the rest of the pack, she’d definitely be the most insane. But thanks to them being present in this au she’s in second place behind Cellbit

FOOLISH

I’ve thought about what he’d use a little bit and came up with the idea of him using drills and bombs to get to players. Not sure if I’m 100% on this but it fits his building obsession. Maybe he uses these to access hunted down players that are underground/hiding?

Shark mask. 100% a shark mask. I’ve seen really cool fanart of him with a shark gas mask. He deserves it.

His insanity is mediocre. Probably, ranking all of them from most insane to least, Foolish is in spot #4. He’s still pretty crazy tho

SLIME

I’ve come up with a cool concept of Slime using something similar to the gas event that happens where he uses a gas release type thing. If you’ve ever seen that one enemy in the Outlast: Trials game that releases the insanity gas when he attacks a player its similar to that but much more extreme. Plus this gas is flammable and toxic to breathe in (except if you’re in the Bolas pack bonded cult because they snorf that shit up for breakfast).

Another thing I’ve thought of for Slime is something to revolve around his code abilities. I think it’d be neat if he could somehow track other players using these abilities and that’s how Bolas finds players. (Maybe by the end of it he could do some funky shit that notifies Philza to their location, maybe by sending him cords or something over like those radio/phone/communication device looking things I’ve seen fanart of for the residents of Quesadilla Island 👀). I can also see him going feral and going after Bad as payback :)

His mask looks like the one in the final purg 1 stream with the big eye window. Maybe some other funky green tubing or something with the gas?

3rd most insane. Have you heard his laugh when he’s doing a literal insane bit?? I am to be able to act that crazy sometimes :)

Hard to say if she survives the nuclear blast like in canon in this au, but if she does live she’d be our resident arsonist! I’d imagine she and Slime team up often for maximum damage and explosions. Plus arson just feels like something a Jaiden in this type of au would think is fun.

Her mask, like a lot of fanart shows, looks like a parrot plague doctor mask with gas mask elements. But, like her v-tuber during purg 1, I think having her mask looks like the Bolas logo is a great option too. Maybe a combination of both?

A bit less insane than Foolish, but just as traumatized as b4 :)

CARRE

Gun. For the sillies. Only person who gets a gun. If we’re being serious, I’m not entirely sure what he’d have due to only knowing him from the vague points I saw of him during purg 1, but I think maybe a combat knife could work?

Either a regular ass gas mask or like some N95

The chillest person there. Probably still a bit crazy, but at least he’ll be hanging out.

I think by the end of purg 2 (I’ll have to look into this, I wasn’t there for live purg 2), the pack will have killed a bunch of the players, if not all of them. I don’t know much about the lore with like, anyone in purg 2 (only Baghera, Cellbit, the outcome of what happened with Sneeg’s character and the winner of the event), but I think it’d be fun if Sneeg’s character had a role too :)

So by the end, someone (most likely Slime in this au) would find Sneeg all mutated and stuff from the radiation. If we are going with Slime here, he probably will feel pity and have him stay with Bolas even though Sneeg’s very aggressive and dangerous. Probably a couple days later is when they are rescued by Philza, Sneeg goes with them and stays with Phil. I like the au’s I’ve seen here on tumblr of q!Sneeg just being chill/relatively calm when around only Phil and I want to implement that into this au :)

Maybe Sneeg starts to heal, if only a tiny bit, and is fine around the eggs (I can see Phil going like “We don’t attack the eggs, Sneeg. Eggs = nice and good and fragile” and Sneeg just going “:|” “:)” )

Jimin-Hobi: Literally as soon as I read this ask, my brain went “HOPEMIN”. I think Hobi really likes the idea of literally being decorated in your passion for him(lowkey feel like he would have a lil pain kink), loving when you leave marks on his chest and neck. Jimin’s very much the same, he just love feeling you lips on his skin and gets a kick out of seeing the little blooms of red and purple on his neck and shoulders that mark him as yours.

Jungkook-Namjoon: Both of them I think would claim they’re not as into being marked, but it not-so-secretly drives them crazy. For Jk, something about you marking him up the same way he does to you just scratches the possessive part of his brain like nothing else. He’s up for them anywhere you want to put them, but his weak spot is still his neck. Joon would prefer them were more easily hidden tho, which works out quite well considering how sensitive his chest and tummy are😘, but he can’t deny that he also loves when you latch onto his neck sometimes.

Tae-Yoongi: Tend to only be into it when they’re feeling particularly needy/subby. Similar to how he gives them, Tae likes them in slightly unusual places, like on his back along his shoulders, but he also loves them on his thighs. Yoongi likes to play indifferent about where you leave marks on him, but you’ve seen the way his face screws up when you nip his hips or inner thighs, so he ain’t fooling anybody.

Jin: Jin’s the wildcard here bc I think he thinks he’s not that into them, until the first time you nip the side of his neck during a makeout, just teasing more than anything, and he accidentally lets out the loudest fucking whine it actually startles both of you. After that, it’s game over for him. He’s a classicalist tho, mostly prefers them on his neck.

hi! Sorry if this ask ends up a bit unfocused/poorly worded, it kinda randomly came to me and my mind is a bit scattered (maybe brain fog idk) its really hard to phrase things the way I want to

Basically, as a nonwhite with skin issues I wanna see represented and represent in my own work, I was thinking about how despite both often being falsely stereotyped as unhygienic, I can't think of many examples of Black characters with skin conditions like acne/eczema. (And a lot of that is bc ppl refuse to represent acne even with white/nonblack characters beyond jokes)

The main question I have is that, obviously, the intention to represent acne well would hopefully prevent it from playing into stereotypes about Black ppl being unhygienic (bc acne just Happens Sometimes yknow) but I still wonder if there's specific stereotypes that exist when it comes to depicting Black characters with acne

Like, mainly in a way that's like. A white character can be insulted for their hair and that's mean but usually a relatively small thing, but if you were to write a Black character being insulted Abt their hair would have a lot more baggage that the writer would need to acknowledge bc of the history of it.

My question is if you, or anyone else w relevant knowledge, are aware of any stereotypes/history that would be similar l, in the sense the portrayal of a Black character with acne (or similar) would need to be more cognizant of than a nonblack character with acne would need to be?

Huh. No, actually! At least, not to acne specifically. It's usually on "ugly" white characters. Vitiligo is starting to make more of an appearance, so that's been kind of cool. That really just made me think!

Naturally there's going to be stereotypes of dirty skin because "brown" (there was a whole ad in China that showed a Black man going into the laundry and a white guy coming out. That was a wild one). But I don't think I've ever actually seen acne on Black skin addressed in media. It would be nice, bc my acne is one of my biggest insecurities, fr (i'm a picker too, so the psychological warfare from my own face is crazy).

As I always say, you can't stop anyone from misunderstanding if that's how they already feel. All you can do is write to your best, and you don't write in those stereotypes, such as not making them want to be lighter or "less dirty". But I hope someone with better knowledge will input!

you like choso. you think he's sweet, a little innocent and naive, but kind overall. he never gave you any reason to doubt that but even you can't deny the dark glimmer in his eye when he looks at you. it's a gaze that he shares with no one else. and the expression on his face, cheeks red with a friendly smile, simply counter the danger that swirls in his irises.

it's a look that makes you want to hide like a bunny scampering away from a lone predator.

of course, you have to tell yourself that you're being foolish. shrugging off your ridiculous nerves when you remind yourself that this is choso you're worrying about.

the man can barely hold it together when yuji shows him one of those adorable cat videos that he finds online. there's no reason for you to be so unnerved by him.

and yet, you're you're hyper aware of how small the space is whenever you're forced to share a room together while away on a mission. you notice that choso, is in fact, quite large and takes up plenty of the space. he's all broad shoulders and ripped muscle; obsidian details contrasting against his smooth, pale canvas. you can't turn without him being in your line of sight.

the reason i always defend queer platonic relationships is because they are Not the same as friendship and i dont think its easy to understand why that is unless you have firsthand experience with the feeling.

(and this ask is not to u anon!!! but to other people in general. im so so glad that the term queerplatonic is helping u define ur emotions towards someone!!! )

like. i get it. i get why people equate these things. i get why people see the notion of deep platonic intimacy and associate with the idea with friendship. i get why the instinctual reaction to an unfamiliar relationship dynamic is seeing it as an annoying gen z semantics thing and choosing to invalidate it

but qprs are so very different from friendship and romance - both semantically and logistically no matter what anyone says. they are probably closer to something in the middle.

i think the reason people want these things to be the same so badly is because society at large is obsessed with defining relationships through hierarchy. and in that hierarchy - romance is always at the top of the totem pole so anything outside of that must be either Serious Platonic Friendship or Familial Love. our social view of love is very binary and rigid and a lot of this is proved in fandom culture itself.

on top of that it is also a matter of access. often, when people hear the term queer platonic they assume immediately that it's another - more inaccessible kind of friendship and that it's intentionally trying to put hierarchy on what is actually just best friendship which is not true. the label was never intended for that. it was coined by aroaces looking for life partnership and commitment most similar to romantic relationships but not.

in the first place, invalidating the harmless labeling of a relationship bc you find it annoying is asshole behavior lmao. but refusing to acknowledge that there are people who experience something that you dont and then overall insisting whatever their lived experience may be is false is insane asshole behavior shskjdfjs.

qprs are their own separate Thing. but they are relationships informed by commitment that is simply not normal in our society for friendship no matter how much people insist on it. the only time that kind of friendships is acceptable is usually between cis women which by definition makes that version of intimate platonic friendship inaccessible to everyone else.

and they are like every other relationship in our society in which the nitty gritty details can only be defined by the people within them. they are platonic committed relationships defined as being Queer in how they exist because the behavior and aspects in them would generally be considered unconventional to other, not queer people. and tbh!!!!! even to queer people sometimes fuck!!!!!

i get really defensive about this because its my lived experience several times over. in fact discussing it now just gave me a huge OHHH SHIT moment about my current situation

HELLO BLUE!!!! i am very happy to talk about the beautiful dynamic of jay & celia that i made up :)

in my brain, jay & celia’s friendship mostly builds over the summer in evie’s house like you said!!! imo they are veryyy similar — wily, tricky, opinionated, AND they are both some of the only (main canon) vks with dads!!! whilst imo celia’s relationship with facilier is better than jay’s with jafar, they’re both obviously Isle Kids & also help run their fathers’ businesses, so there’s definitely a lot of similarities between them

they don’t really interact with each other much on the isle. they know of each other, obviously, and i think they’d have some mutual respect for each other. jay is impressed by celia’s scamming prowess; celia admires jay’s pickpocketing ease.

and then d3 happens, and the barrier comes down, and it’s summer. this means Events. balls, soirées, receptions, formal dinners etc etc. celia is a kid!!! an isle kid!!! she hates this shit!!! she doesn’t dream of being a princess like dizzy; she isn’t shy & looked over like the twins. she is restless, and uncomfortable, and irritated. she loves to dress up, sure, but she’s not even allowed to scam people!!!

jay recognises this like his reflection in the mirror. the itching hands; the glances to the door. and although jay finds fun in charming & flirting with unsuspecting royalty, celia, being younger, doesn't have anyone her age to mess with, and all the adults either treat her like a nuisance or a pet

and jay knows they're meant to be good now. but he knows 'good' is subjective. and he also knows that in this instance, being 'good' means instigating mischief with celia before she snaps.

it's discreet, of course. bets on how long it'll take for a snobby prince to mention his castle and wealth; who can ask evie for the most items from her purse before she becomes suspicious; sneaking a plate of hors d'oeuvres into their various pockets and eating it outside to get away. or seeing who can throw one the furthest across the lake

sometimes, they're able to wiggle their ways out of an event, and they hang out at evie's for the night. celia picks a film, but it usually devolves into jay trying to catch popcorn in his mouth and then celia pelting him with the stuff. jay teaches her some tourney stuff. she shows him some basic card tricks. they bond over their shared slight of hand; exchange techniques and tips.

i just really think jay & celia's friendship was a missed opportunity in d3. they can both be quite standoffish, but they high-five!!! they celebrate things together!!!! plus i think celia being disappointed/angry at mal's betrayal vs jay being instantly forgiving would've been sooo delicious to explore. young girl who finally has a chance at life and trusts the people giving her that chance, only to be betrayed vs Most Loyal Guy Ever. celia looking up to jay but just not being able to understand why he's so ok with mal lying to them. jay just being like it's mal..... ANYWAYY this is not a jal post. apologies

basically, yeah -- mentor/mentee type dynamic would've been so cool to see. especially for jay's chatacter development!!! bc my guy was so sidelined in d3. not only has he learned the importance of working as a team, he's willing to expand said team & trust and rely on other people. crazy. and celia would've maybe been able to show some more vulnerability/dimension -- maybe they have a Dad Chat or she's worried abt how they're going to treat her at school. maybe jay sees her as somewhat of a younger self -- feisty, arrogant, slick and wily, but also scared to death and disguising it so well it's hard to stop pretending. god we could've had it all if mr mouse didn't hate side characters & characters of colour & basically any relationship/dynamic that wasn't heterosexual romance!!!!! what the hell!!!!

I’m seeing a lot of delightful fics of Bill being sent back to GF as a human and truly adore the premise.

throwing my own hat into the ring; I love some complex psychological horror and or unhealthy yet compelling dynamics, therefore in the AU that only exists in my head (for now), Bill broke out of Theraprism by himself, lands back onto earth and possesses the body of just some guy who was about to die, therefore an empty vessel yknow. His powers would be diminished, or he’d need to keep them under wraps so as not to catch the eye of any supernatural police. The Stan twins have been travelling across the globe to catch any residual weirdness, and Bill’s little fall to earth had pinged off on their radar, so they go to the anomaly place and just find Some Guy.

Bill has to do his best to convince the twins that he’s just Some Guy, and that the reason he’s giving Weird Vibes is bc he came into contact with the anomaly and it left his arms charred, and being able to do some magical tricks. He decides the best place to hide is wherever everyone least expects him, so he joins the twins on their adventures as resident Strange Guy But Kinda Smart and Useful so sure, tag along.

Now here’s the thing. Bill and Stanford get along really well, they’re both intellectuals and they bond over creating strange inventions, much to the despair of poor Stanley who has to make sure they don’t go too crazy and make Weirdmaggedon 2 electric bugaloo. But sometimes he participates yknow, dude learned some advanced shit in the 30 years fixing the portal. Either way, they rly end up bonding.

All the while, however, Bill realizes how much he missed being with Stanford, and becomes increasingly worried about the cat coming out of the bag and ruining this second chance. He’s careful that his demeanours are never too similar to how he used to act, he’s desperate not to shatter the illusion. One way or another, this entire thing teaches him to slow down and cherish something. Still, he cannot fully contain his chaotic nature, it’s a non stop push and pull between his godhood and his growing care for humanity. How does a cosmic, unfathomable being such as himself change? Can they even? Or would that very change tear himself asunder?

On Stanford’s side, he cannot help but find this stranger familiar, can’t help the incessant déjà-vu, anytime he and the man stay up late into the night discussing the mysteries of the universe. But he thinks it’s unfair to pile his trauma onto this random guy, so he restrains himself. Still, it is a quiet scream in the back of his head he can’t shut out. He also realizes slowly that the other man seems to always be repressing himself, and he wants his friend to break out of his shell and be truthful, but another part of him dreads it to his bones.

Still, both of them can’t help falling for each other. Stanford feels like someone finally sees him completely, and this time they’re on equal footing; it is not a believer on his knees for a god, it is a slow waltz as they hold hands. A comforting, soft partnership.

(at the core of billford, I think, is we never truly know if they loved each other. Perhaps they only loved the idea of each other; stanford’s love for Bill is that of a believer, a worshipper. He saw Bill as this clairvoyant eye to finally bathe him with the acknowledgment he always craved, the hole in his heart left by Stanley, to fill with achievements and noises. If a God can acknowledge me, then I must be doing things right, I must be good, I must be enough. Yet when that shatters, and Bill is revealed to be a demon, what says that about Stanford, who reveled in his gaze? As for Bill, he fully saw Stanford as a pawn till he lost him. Is it truly love and regret? Or is it a child losing its favourite toy? Is it mere disbelief that anything can slip through his, a god, a king’s fingers? Even a pawn that he liked a little more than the others, that he expected would remain on his board but vanishes and he can’t help but linger on its empty square? Does he mourn his loss of control or does he mourn just a little bit, the company of someone who understands him, his incessant need for escapism, from his broken home, his oddness, his ‘defect’?)

Eventually, everything comes to a head when Bill has to use his full powers to save Stanley during a mission gone wrong. Sirens blare across the universe and Bill knows he will be found out and sent back to the hell of infinite therapy. But for that moment, all Bill cared about was Stanford’s happiness and wellbeing, because he knew that losing his brother would break him fully. He had to care for Ford, despite his fear of losing him forever. Despite the fact that this would be the end of the road for him.

As for the ending, idk what would be most appropriate. I’d love a happy ending but I think though Stanford will try to save Bill from his fate in theraprism to repay his debt, he would be too hurt to fully forgive the demon. Maybe they part ways, and Bill places a kiss on Stanford’s scarred knuckles and accepts that to love is to lose, and he has to accept that if you truly love another, it means letting them be happy even if that happiness is without you.

I think some of my love for the Jedi’s philosophy leaked in all that yapping but anyways. Might draw or write a lil something for this AU down the line. I like unclean resolutions, they’re both forever stained with the other’s handprint, but would they trace it softly on their skin or cover it up with a high collar. Who knows? It makes no damn sense, compels me though!

Azriels mom was a part of a place that normalised the type of behaviour . He hates Eris . Lucien is no better he saw a woman suffering from abuse and did barely anything and called it a day and let the abuse continue . He tried to drag her back to the SC .

Both of these dirty men are doing this whole also knowing that their own mother is suffering immensely because of their fathers ( including Helion here , he knows what happening the person he apparently loves)

Oh absolutelyyyyy. Like, listen, when it comes to shipping, I'm not about to sleep with one eye open just bc people find x or y compelling with Azriel or whatever. We do know that no matter what, pairings will exist in any fanbase even if it makes no sense

But yeah, just as with gwynriel, there's aspect of shipping Azris that I would never fuck with or view as interesting, it's such basic gay shipping that I can't for the life of me think about the change they had to put between both of them for azriel to like a beast such as that demonic redhead. Like wowww your shipping a white man canon misogynist with barely narrative presence that's also racially offensive as hell to Illyrians- Azriel (and don't come for fans mentioning it, it was SARAH JANET making it that way by putting brown-black skin mentions of Illyria that's also an irl people btw, not me) with said brown fae that is known as a "lesser" and hates this guy's guts? How original, how never seen before!!

(i finally made myself finish this. it was sitting in my files for like 4 months as a barely recognizable sketch, judging me *the pun shamelessly intended* for being that slow. 

but since i’m taking it easy atm, i thought why not give these arts another shot. esp bc i only recently realized that dredd an’ fear' are those two guys i really loved in the game, i played as a child at my aunt’s bf house all those years ago. i had no idea that it was connected to judge dredd movie *the old one* an’ even less so, that it had smth to do with comics at all. 

*kinda crazy how many of these fundamentally ‘my’ things had re-found me years down the line. an’ everything makes such a shocking amount of sense too. the sort, that kid brew could do nothing important or super fun with. but adult brew knows how to enjoy it properly. it literally aged like fine wine for me.*

but oh, dredd an’ fear, i feel like one of those cases, where writers are kinda low-key afraid to expand on certain possibilities, bc many of them have the exact same problem with batman an’ scarecrow. my main theory, is that it’s not even ‘this would have been too gay’ sort of hold up, but that men are historically afraid of intimacy, esp between each other. doesn’t even have to be romantic stuff. just general intimacy. smth that you can reach only in that specific context, with those specific characters. but that’s just a theory! like, there are many other things, that make it impossible. as well, as the fact, that i can’t say that judge dredd is super rich when it comes to delivering an emotional punch. even if sometimes, it does this fairly effectivly.

but anyhow, i love the idea of dredd being forced to deal with the undead creature, who is fixated on him, simply bc he’s the only man, who has ever survived him. i mean, there was that one child, who also wasn’t scared of judge fear an’ didn’t die from a heart attack like anyone else, but fear threw him out of the window in fit of rage, so technically he still killed him lol. i also love the implication, that dredd can in fact feel afraid, but considering how emotionally stunted he is, perhaps, that’s what kinda saves him. what he might see tho, is another question as fear’s ‘face’ is supposed to project a person's deepest terror an’ nightmare right at his victim, stopping their heart as result. i love the idea of dredd being able to see fear’s actual face. be it a nightmarefuel, which was shown to us a couple of times, or his actual face. the one, that he seems to be very keen on hiding.

in short, i see so many opportunities to expand on both characters via their interactions with each other. esp since we barely know anything about fear at all. to me, he always feels like jonathan crane’s distant, alt dimension cousin. bc man, do they have quite a few similarities. i mean, if fear’s name was truly stanley kramer *this bit is unconfirmed, but i keep this as my personal hc* then you can’t tell me, that this wasn’t intentional. like, crane … kramer. both are thin, fugly, obsessed with fear an’ that one guy, who sends them to asylum / prison, cuz he's not afraid of them.

an' oh, by old men yaoi, i mean actually that. dredd ages in real time. so even, if he doesn't look it, he's 80 smth. an' judge fear is either around the same age, or maybe even way older. not that it matters for him, since he's literally an evil undead zombie ghost thing.

as for arts themselves, they are mostly based on judge dredd vs death game, less so on the comics. i really love how dredd have to navigate sewers in order to find fear. this is also the coolest level too.

but i think, that real culprit of my inspo was this,

i love how fear being low-key villainously poetic here. an' in the beginning of the level, he says 'dredd. i can smell your fear, dredd'. with what he can smell it with is a mystery. but he has way more lines directed at dredd vs mortis or fire, which is kinda curious. i guess, bc fear does like to talk big an' generally to run his mouth, even if in way lesser extend than judge death.)

OK... SO... BODYSWAP THOUGHTS™... that may or may not be coherent

both of them instantly do not enjoy being in each other's bodies. other than the logistical nightmare of what the hell is happening, Rex and White Knight are very physically different! there's the adjustment period where WK suddenly is much smaller and Rex is suddenly much larger. Rex is more built than most teens but like. WK is a slab of a man. bouts of vertigo are common.

that's on top of being an EVO vs. not being an EVO. I've briefly touched upon it in the fic itself but Rex has been in constant communication with nanites and technology for his entire life (that he remembers) and that's 100% normal to him. he knows "people can't communicate with technology" but he doesn't really understand that, you know. suddenly he's in a human body, everything's quiet, and that specific human is likely the most isolated human in the world.

(White does send his rubber ball through the magnet into his office which Rex initially thinks is a rude sarcastic gesture but he thinks WK might actually be trying to make his own office more? livable??? but then Rex is like oh! he's in a prison as well. just like my room was. on another note White does keep his exosuits in a room attached to the office but that's behind a lock and he refuses to let Rex use them bc it's a major security breach. + the Consortium would know something is up + WK doesn't want to smuggle him out. honestly it wouldn't be too difficult to but it's not like WK ever had a reason to look into how to escape, other than to wrangle Rex)

Rex is going to get stir-crazy in there. he's got nothing to do. there IS nothing to do in there. ends up reading a bunch of the books White has stashed away in there but tbh there aren't many books. at least they somehow have a similar taste in books. ends up logged back into the system somehow if only to requisition more reading material! and anything else entertaining that can survive the magnet! and another blanket! and like, a chair maybe.

he's lucky that 80% of the time I hc that WK has a room attached to the office and I didn't hit upon the 20% of the time I feel like he doesn't and he sleeps on a mattress right next to the desk when writing this fic

and you know... while he's there in Providence with WK's credentials and looks and boss power... may as well snoop around... maybe even try to make things better...

body language-wise Rex is much more open and cheery (sometimes forcing a smile), but also is more unsure of himself at certain points. he wouldn't be able to nuke a city block basically, even when he had to. when Six sees White's body on the screen, smiling and joking around, suddenly he sees pre-bleaching WK.

and NO. he is too stubborn to do things like "TALK TO PEOPLE". Rex in his body creeps him out anyways. he's all... happy. he is not taking this time to reflect on what that means for Rex's life, much less his own. for now at least.

White is in a sensory nightmare where his panic is also telling his nanites to help him and that freaks him out even more. before bleaching he's always been much more social and tbh way more like Rex but now? he's used to being alone. he's fine with being alone, even, he tells himself. in Rex's body, he flinches from human contact, he's nauseous from nanite communications, he can't make any of his builds bc his mental state is a mess, he's overworking himself, and he's losing control. he can barely cure anything since he can feel the nanites being extracted.

Rex communicates with nanites but WK tries to control them.

he COULD likely build exact copies of Rex's builds if Rex jotted down his mental blueprints, or if WK studies his builds through old footage hard enough to get a grasp on how they work. turns out White has a knack for engineering (his exosuit, his mechsuit, King's Road, etc). HOWEVER this is a lil spoiler for the fic 🤫 but since he made his own mech and he knows it like the back of his hand it's actually easier for him to make parts of his mech as builds instead. for his body language he's VERY closed-off. and trying to be intimidating in a body very different than what he's used to combined with his general scowly-ness makes him sort of read like... an extremely moody and rebellious teenager to people not in the know. puts up with some of the soldiers treating him like garbage too.

(Rex expects White to be living it up out there, indulging being able to be outside of the office again...! instead he's still isolating himself. Knight's like there's no point. I'm going to be back in the office. I don't want to get used to it.)

OKAY I ALMOST FORGOT TO PUT IN: White is very aware that Rex's body can get amnesia again and he will forget everything about himself. in that case he doesn't want Rex to be trapped in the office so he's ready to have his amnesiac self swapped anyways.

Rex is very aware of that too and is like, it would be unethical to stick a complete amnesiac into WK's position. he's ready to take the hit!!! they butt heads over this.

White Knight being freaked out all the time is not helping re: his nanites going into overdrive. gotta calm down, WK!!!

I do have a scene in mind for Knight at Noah's house (ordered by Rex)(so WK can go outside) and it is so awkward. Noah going on Reddit to ask what the fuck to do if your ex-boss for a shady job that you got fired from but you still kinda hang out with your ex-coworkers is like. at your house scowling while watching cartoons. (but he's still watching???)(intently???????)

this is part II of my very in depth showcase of my wr which is a luxurious penthouse in ny. i believe you can get a feel of the overall aesthetic so try to keep that in mind as you take in the visuals as they all do not reflect the same style.

this wr is like any wr, to relax in and whatnot. however i am catering mine towards my drself (criminal minds) so there’s a few things and areas i added to get “comfortable” — i am aware that me in that reality is still me but it would be nice to just see my abilities bc they’re SO COOL and why not?

| part I

living room

a very comfy space, a normal living room but the main star is the tv. i have every single streaming service on it, no ads whatsoever— the tv can basically show whatever i want. being able to watch movies and shows as they are here, i’m also able to watch versions where i’m in them, other desired versions, watching my dr as the show; being able to see everyone’s pov and see myself third person, and a lot more. the possibilities are endless.

theater

anything i can watch on the tv i can move over to the theater for a different perspective AND i can also play games there. like can you imagine that? such a huge screen and the sound quality as i’m playing all my fav games? ugh i’m in love. again same concept as the tv, any game i want, i have— doesn’t matter the console or anything. the quality is a1, no lags or glitches, everything is AMAZING (the area is way bigger than what the pics show but you get the idea).

pools

i have two. yes, crazy but who’s gonna stop me? i need both. pool #1 is indoors, it has that shower/rain feature you can see in the image— the overall look of it doesn’t quite match what i have in mind, but it’s similar enough. pool #2 is outdoors in that beautiful, captivating view at night (and day). spending time out there whether in the pool or not, is just chef’s kiss.

gym

this, and the next area i added is specifically catering to my cm drself. i made a company to account for my background and skills (combat), which may not make sense now but doesn’t matter for you to understand (i’ll talk about it sometime). here’s where more of that getting “comfortable” is coming from. i want to test out those combat skills and it’s even better than i have connor now. he can be like my training buddy, hand to hand to weaponry.

range

just like the gym, the shooting range obviously caters to firearms. i just feel it would be important to really feel out these things (regardless of being extremely proficient and ofc, it all being second nature) so i’m not completely “clueless”? get me? i just want to feel it all before i move onto my dr. i know my drself is not a separate entity from me, it’s literally me. i just want to mess around with the abilities i have. that’s all.

there's plentyyy of other features and details to my penthouse but i believe this should conclude my wr introduction to both parts!! i’m literally in love with the space i created, i’m beyond eager to be back there ⸜(*ˊᗜˋ*)⸝

Anyway I’m bored and Carmen Sandiego renaissance is on the brain. What are these characters like when they aren’t focused on the main plot?? Non VILE/ACME/Caper related dialogue seems so few and far between.. I wish we got to see their lives outside work. So I made some headcanons abt it

CARMEN

Player was her first exposure to the outside world so she probably holds a lot of his nerdy interests close to her heart. She’s not the best at video games but plays them regardless. She especially enjoys sci-fi horror movies from the 80s that go big on practical effects

Finding random trivia about different countries is genuinely one of her favourite hobbies. The little info segments she does are not part of the edutainment show. She is genuinely just like that. This woman is a trove of fun facts please let her unleash them upon you

In the same vein she LOVES quizzes. After missions she will drag Team Red to any bar doing a trivia night in her vicinity and will wipe the floor with everyone there. Fear her

Enjoys people watching. It’s why she’s so good at charming strangers despite her socially stunted upbringing. She’ll sit alone in a busy train station for hours and watch everyone pass her by

PLAYER

Look. We know this kid is a nerd. It’s canon. But which niche of nerdiness does he fall into exactly?

Despite being an avid gamer he isn’t very competitive about it. He prefers single player rpgs, especially ones with active modding scenes. He doesn’t even know what vanilla Skyrim looks like he probably wasn’t even born yet when it released

He will, however, duo queue with Carmen on unranked Overwatch. They are both terrible at it and think it’s the funniest shit

Enjoys sitting back and watching a good speedrun. Will have a video of someone doing a stupid BOTW challenge in the background while he hacks security cameras and such

Runs a DnD campaign for Team Red which they’re all crazy invested in. Shadowsan is the only one who doesn’t care for it but he keeps rolling nat 20’s on the dumbest shit and derailing the campaign and he finds everyone’s reactions too entertaining to stop. They have a rivalry only a DM and a stupidly lucky rogue could have

ZACK

We already know he’s kind of a meathead that enjoys sports and cars and cheesy action movies but I also think he has a lot of softer hobbies that he keeps to himself bc he knows they won’t take him seriously

He’s a secret crocheter. He’ll mend the team’s clothes when they rip but that’s the extent of their knowledge. He’ll sit for hours by himself and knit while listening to music. Sometimes Shadowsan will find a new pair of socks in his bag. When Carmen got sick once she woke up with a handmade blanket draped over her. Ivy has her suspicions but doesn’t wanna intrude

He loves animals. He never really brings it up because no one ever asks. He always checks out local zoos and aquariums if he has the chance. Grew up watching Steve Irwin-esque nature shows and still does to this day

His love of eating is less out of greed and more his own form of cultural appreciation. Idk what happened to his and Ivy’s parents but for reasons he can’t explain their cooking is one of the few things he hasn’t forgotten, so he has a lot of sentimental food-based memories. And experiencing other countries cuisine connects him with that

IVY

PERIOD DRAMAS. They don’t have to be good they just have to be steamy. She enjoys the hot women in pretty dresses. She and Carmen watch Bridgerton together and laugh about how historically inaccurate it is

She LOVES renfaires and similar high fantasy roleplaying communities. Someone please buy this woman a suit of armour

As an engineering prodigy AND fantasy buff she has a massive interest in Blacksmithing and Swords. That’s her designated lesbian hobby. She’s been trying to politely worm her way into a conversation with Shadowsan about the blade he returned to his brother for months now but isn’t sure if it’s too personal of a topic for him so she’s nervous

Her sweet tooth encompasses more than just chocolate. She’s secretly grateful to Zack since he takes most of the flack for being a glutton. She makes note of any bakeries they pass by on capers so she can come back later in secret and go ham on the pastries

SHADOWSAN

I think his interest in Samurai history starts and ends with his love for Hideo. He’ll happily discuss it and he’s studied it passionately, but out of a sense of respect and duty to do right by the brother he betrayed

He will NEVER, EVER admit it to anyone but he genuinely misses the adrenaline rush from committing petty crimes. He was a criminal for over 20 years. Lifestyles are hard to shake and change isn’t linear. He’d never succumb to impulse but he’s just kinda bored

He microdoses on the urge by pranking people. Everyone always blames Zack so he never gets caught. He also enjoys sneaking up on people and making them jump. He’ll always insist it’s unintentional. It isn’t

He’ll read and meditate and train to keep himself centred but he’s still a rowdy young punk at heart. Team Red is the first taste of freedom he’s had after a lifetime of VILE faculty monitoring him. The first thing he bought for himself after settling in at the San Diego HQ was a motorbike. The second was a new tattoo. The third was a potentially lethal amount of whiskey that he drank in one sitting

JULIA

We know she has a passion for history outside her work in Law Enforcement so she definitely goes to all kinds of museums in her free time. She’s the kind of person who enjoys learning just for the sake of learning (she and Carmen have that in common)

Outside of that she’s surprisingly good at karaoke? She gets stage fright but really likes singing and will go all out if you hype her up. Her taste in music is the exact opposite of her appearance and personality. Lots and lots of death metal

An aficionado for different types of tea. She keeps like 10 flavours in her house at all times. She especially likes floral ones that taste light and sweet. She hates iced tea with a passion though

Goes to botanical gardens whenever the weather is warm and the season is right. She likes the history of the old manor houses but she also loves admiring the landscaping and the blooming flowers. She could sit on a bench surrounded by local flora and fauna for hours

DEVINEAUX

Chase is an entirely different person when he’s off the clock. The unhinged high-energy maniac who froths at the mouth about La Femme Rouge goes dormant once he gets home. Especially after he got stranded on VILE island. That really gave him some introspection about work/life balance

The biggest, softest, sappiest hopeless romantic you will ever meet in your life. Passion is just part of his nature and he gets his heart broken A LOT. It’s why he throws himself into his work

He’s a really good chef. Like REALLY good. Before he was a cop he did a few summers as a line cook in his teen years and he retained most of the knowledge. His pantry is STACKED and he tries out recipes he picked up from his ACME travels in his free time. He’s a tad snobby about it because he’s French but you will not complain about the stuff he feeds you

Old movie enjoyer. His favourites are film noirs, cheesy romances, creepy eastern european animation and german expressionism. He has a fervent hatred of Marvel
