honestly more people need to recognize how insanely good of an adaptation this is. maybe the best book to series adaptation there is.
The way this adaptation hit all the big lore and plot points but also made time for the tiniest details that spoke so much about the characters was honestly so great to see, the show creators obviously had so much understanding and respect for the original source material, which is so rare nowadays.
#like genuinely no notes#the casting?? the writing??? the visuals?? all absolutely phenomenal#it follows the plot nearly identically but at the same time manages to give extra weight to the characters and their dynamics#and do not get me started on the foreshadowing to future plot lines#lockwoods recklessness#him being closed off about his past#lucy's connection with ghosts#her giving into it#lockwood fearing it#it's all emphazised more than it is in the first two books#and it is done so well#the hollow boy would have been showstopping to see adapted#give cameron chapman and ruby stokes their moment to shine pls#don't think i've forgotten about george#how i love him#i love love love that they sort of changed him but not really#like he has a bit of a different vibe to him compared to the book but at the same time is so undoubtedly george#ali hadji-heshmati really made the character his own and i am here for it#they kind of did the same with barnes#and also nailed it#lockwood & co#lockwood and co#anthony lockwood#lucy carlyle#george cubbins#george karim#montagu barnes#you're on my permanent shit list netfix#borrowing that tag bc netflix istg what the hell
