In the HTTYD books one of the funniest things is most characters haver really goofy first names like Hiccup, Fishlegs, Snotlout, Stoic, Dogsbreath, etc.

And then the main villain is named Alvin.

cannot express how much I love an unkillable guy. not in a cool way, but in a cockroach way, like by all rights we have physically seen him die onscreen multiple times but against everyone's wishes he just keeps coming back. the first time he comes back it's a plot twist. the second time he dies you start to see where it's going. it only gets exponentially funnier after that

"You see," purred Alvin "A >w< T-Tweachewous c-couwd that. >w< You awe nyot a Tweachewous, *twerks* you Nyo-Nyamed accident.^-^" Alvin turned his back on Fishlegs with a contemptuous swirl of his cloak, striding off to look for the Jewel.

So, I've been re-reading How To Be A Pirate, and I noticed a little detail I find quite funny. When Alvin is introducing himself as "Alvin the Poor-But-Honest Farmer", he says he farms potatoes. As in, 'the Vegtable-That-No-One-Dares-Name' potato.

I just think it's funny that Alvin claimed to farm the one type of vegetable Vikings think doesn't exist.
