A taste of Chowpatty in Chennai! Corn Chaat in the rains, easily among the top picks from my tasting of the new menu at Bombay Brasserie, Nungambakkam, Chennai. Loved the chur chur paratha and smoked Jodhpur mutton, the Kashmiri naan kebab (best eaten as a roll) and Guntur Podi Chicken. But the hands-down winner has to be the Bombay Lunch Home Veg Curry and Banana Leaf (special coconut) rice. Worth every last grain and morsel - that rice. All washed down with the chilled, in-house flavoured refreshments of Jaipur Gulabo (rose), Nagpuri Santra (orange), and Pondy Rush (peach). Look out for my piece in Indulge. Mumbai food stop # 3 - @bombaybrasserie_in. We had our second day lunch here. What attracted me to this place was it rustic interiors. The decor of this place was traditional. It had old rickety cabinets and kettles on it. It had a soothing ambience. . . The second thing was the menu itself. It had a long list of food items to choose from. The dishes were from all over India and that seemed their theme as well. Overall the food was okay. The chickpea masala was the highlight of all. It was authentic! . . The food at #bombaybrasserie is truly good. I say that after a long time for any classic Indian restaurant. This choor choor naan with a paneer and onion gravy had used vinegared onions instead of the regular raw onions which I thought was brilliant and had added a very interesting dimension to the dish.
