De Riesling druif is een witte druif die je vooral in Duitsland vindt, rond de Moezel rivier, al staat de Franse Alsace regio er ook bekend voor. In…

At the BXL BeerFest this last Saturday, I finally got to taste a couple three Bokkereyer beers, the Ghost Kriek being my favorite of the festival. Well, when something is delicious I can't help but read more about it (and hopefully one day talk.. ), so I was fascinated about the description of this 'huissteker' as a blender of saison and lambic. Interesting..., and Fantôme listed occasionally amongst the brewers of the saison (I guess this explains the 'ghost' in some of the names). Anyway, I was of course encouraged to try a vintage Fantôme this evening, just to see (taste, actually) what or why or how a Famtôme as base beer might fair if I was ever blessed enough to stash a couple Bokkereyder blends in my cellar for a couple plus few or more years: The aromas of this 10 year old Fantôme (purchased in the summer of 2007 in Soy) were initially dominated by empty mineral cardboard nothingness, but after airing out a bit, most of, if not all of, those stuffy oxidized aromas drifted up and away into a part of the background lost and forgotten for the rest of the evening, leaving the refreshing fruits to take over and turn my frustrated frown into a giddy smile; this while the taste was more like a dry fruity mousse white wine than what most persons associate with a barley'd concoction (gerstenat). An absolute delight. Really, this one blew me away. Way to go, Dany. Cheers! #vintagebeermonday #fantôme #brasseriefantôme #brasseriefantome #saisonbeer #saison #vintagebeer #belgium #belgië #belgie #belgique #belgian #belgianbeer #belgischbier #bièrebelge #bierebelge #beer #bier #bière #biere #instabeer #beerphoto #beerlover #beerstagram #craftbeer #beerporn #beertasting (at Balen, Antwerpen, Belgium)

Belgium Comes to Hoboken: Beer Fans Rejoice The first time I heard the name Bokkereyder was in early 2016. A friend of mine had suggested I get in touch with his buddy Raf because "his stuff was incredible." Thinking my friend was solely trying to show some love for a homebrew friend, I originally shrugged it off.

Another outstanding beer by @_bokke_. 1, 2 and 3 year old lambic with 3 varietals of apricots from the Rhône Valley in France and fresh passion fruit from Sicily. It's dry, funky and super-intense.
