Oooh, definitely glee for the fandom asks! <3
Always with the hornets' nests with these ones, I see! Though i don't think there's a fandom out there that isn't in some way a hornets' nest once it gets large enough... hm. Alright. I'm just gonna be as honest as i can be about this, and tag accordingly.
Glee:
my favourite female character: augh. argh. ouph. so difficult. so hard. Since I'm working off of half-remembered show and half recently-rewatched show... its a tossup. Mercedes, Santana, Quinn. Probably Mercedes. She did nothing wrong ever in her entire life <3 well okay maybe except that one time she smashed kurt's car windows (but it was a banger song, though). Can't say Santana because of the Biphobia TM and other things like excessive use of bigotry-based insults, and Quinn. Oh god girl. Cheating is not cool! Funnily enough! So I find them really interesting but 'favourite' is hard to say. Mercedes. Mercedes for sure <3
my favourite male character: Blaine sam blaine sam blaine sam yes. I am imitating ripping petals off of flowers and coming to a conclusion based on which is the last name i said. So I guess that means Sam! But really this is a tie.
my favourite book/season/etc: Mannnnn idk. I don't like shows for seasons as-a-whole. Also i could not tell you what happened in any given season if you held a gun to my head. I'm not good at that. The only shows i know 'seasons' of are Buffy and Teen Wolf because i've watched them like 100000000000 times (exaggeration) for various reasons (mostly fanfiction research).
my favourite episode (if its a tv show): I can tell you my LEAST favourite episode (blame it on the alcohol, thank you Kurt king of biphobia! this is a persona foible it's not the worst episode in the show. by far. by far. it's kind of an average one. I'm just angry at it.) BUT er. Favourite? Idk. Genuinely some of the earlier Kurt-centric stuff was really well done (his convo with Burt... <3) and the Quinn giving birth accompanied by bohemian rhapsody was obviously iconic, but if I'll be honest I couldn't name any episodes of this show (other than That One previously stated, anyway). And yeah most of the time they were named after song titles and No i don't remember those song titles either. I'm just so bad at this. My memory is that of a goldfish's being haphazardly bounced around on a sieve.
my favourite cast member: it would be really funny if I said Demi Lovato [she counts!] but the truth is N/A: i don't know these people !!! They are strangers!! (i don't. follow celebrities. at all. I couldn't even name most of them. They're just people doing a job and their lives are irrelevant to me beyond their ability to perform that job well. I do not need to know where they live and what coffee they drink. Stalker shit tbh. I'm kind of a very private person myself, so rpf-adjacent stuff just... creeps me out. I've never watched a single cast interview in my lifetime and I'm not about to start!)
my favourite ship: Difficult to say! Grave and obvious lie. Blam. It's blam. Quintana is a close runner up though Santana really needs to stop dating people who cheat on the regular (I'll accept Quinn has grown enough not to do this by the time a Quintana coupling would be viable - and satisfying in terms of character arcs - narratively speaking).
a character I’d die defending: Blaine Anderson did something wrong for sure but like Kurt did it first so shrugs. Cancels out. Bad for each other! Case closed!
a character I just can’t sympathize with: genuinely don't remember if I had one of those the first time around because I was like 10 and just didn't pay attention if I didn't care, but Terri and her racist self take that 'prize' this time, alongside the obvious predator in the room [original choir teacher. Sandy? I forget his name immediately after hearing it. He doesn't deserve to be remembered]. Also JBI is just.... a yikes character all around. I mean, he's a blatant stereotype for one, in a the people who wrote this person don't like jews kind of way. Unfortunately common stereotype too, for the era, so not only is he that, he's also lazy. Just a one-note pervert who's the butt of various antisemitic 'jokes' you've heard from era-peer shows a million times over, tired and awful and a sour reminder of bigotry that continues to this day. Really regrettable character who's lack of redeeming qualities was probably purposeful. (I know Rachel and tina are also jewish, but this comes up very rarely and mostly only when santana needs to say something kind of fucked up, as is her modus operandi, for 'comic relief'. Tina's jewish-ness wasn't even canon for several seasons, because she didn't have a surname or a family or anything resembling complex character depth for several seasons. The one time I really remember Rachel's religion being important was when she was pressuring Kurt into believing in some kind of god, which??? don't do that. Bad example. Trying to guilt trip a friend into faith sucks. I take back what i said earlier Mercedes did that too. Boo. Girls try again that was a bad showing all around. Though i have no idea why Kurt went the acupuncture route as his 'secular' option but i think that has to do a lot with the writers doing literally no research ever once in their lives (you can tell they don't by the way they write the football segments of the show, which make no sense according to football fans who watch Glee, of which there are numerous because real life isn't like fiction where you can only like music or sports. Most of the kids in my school year were doing the most of everything ever if they were the 'popular' ones - we do that differently; popularity isn't really based on who know know; for some bizzare reason literally everyone knew who I was? Even people I'd never spoken to?? - but more about like... how much you can do, I guess. Overachievers, but I'm not saying that negatively; these people were generally - generally - very nice, and surprisingly chill for people who had no spare time whatsoever. I'm not entirely sure when they slept; A* across the board, at least one sport, at least one instrument, several extracurriculars, parties every weekend, dozens of friends and an s.o. . Eh? Way too much going on. Scary lifestyle! Impressive burnout rate, probably. Er. Tangent! Back to the scheduled programming).) There's uhhhh there's a lot of bad characters on the show, but i'd say Sandy and Terri and her equally but more loudly racist sister are truly completely irredeemable ones. Like they're not interesting or anything, they're just there to be narrative annoyances (which, in the case of Sandy specifically, is insane. Arrest that man!!! He has actively sexually assaulted minors!!!).
a character I grew to love: difficult to say because I tend to just make an opinion and stick to it. Also i don't remember who i liked at first and who i didn't, this show came out when i was eight. I didn't watch it until I was a little older than that, of course, but I frankly have spotty memory until my late teens, so! I'm not sure!! Quinn, probably. Pink-hair-era Quinn helped me understand her more, and seeing the moments of kindness hidden behind practical cruelty, when you understand her family and situation, makes things make a lot more sense. It takes a lot to get me to sympathise with a cheater, but I can see where Quinn was getting all turned around in her head about life because of her upbringing and socialisation, not to mention the profoundly negative impact cheerios had on her mentally and that the school's culture in general was not exactly a breeding ground for empathy and optimism.
my anti otp: can you tell (klaine). I don't dislike Kurt!!! Please let him have a fun chillaxed boyfriend in new york with his vogue friends. But also please stop attempting to control other people's diets thank you!! Thank you!! I'm of mixed feelings. Blaine and Kurt both did at least one bad, relationship-ending thing, and proved over and over again that they just weren't on the same wavelength in regards to life goals and ways of living it. They can't even share the same living space, which is kind of required for a functional marriage. I don't know, it just seems like they settled for their first proper, serious boyfriend even if that's not really the best match, and I... wish they'd just got to see more of life first, you know? They got married at like 20! Or something! I'm 23, I cannot imagine getting married at 20. That's a baby. Let them live first!
(same for Santana and Brittney, imo. I also don't really like them together because Santana and Brittney have very different ideas regarding monogamy, which is just never going to go down well in the long run. If your girl cheats on you like twenty times and tells you to your face its not cheating in her view of things, but you think it is, break up with her because you'll just make each other miserable. Brittney sort of seems incapable of feeling guilt but if she were, this kind of moral pressure would be Not Good, and obviously Santana isn't comfortable with the idea and doesn't have to be!! Just move on!!! Find other people!!!! Don't marry your first girlfriend if you've broken up like ten times this is simple!!!! Please!!!! But Klaine wins out over Brittana because - in my opinion, glee fandom please do not persecute me, I am known for this specific thing - I see... interactions that verge on abusive between Klaine that I don't see in Brittana. So. Oof? Ex; use of public perception to disguise attack; deliberately hurting Blaine in a stage-combat fencing match (you are not meant to make actual contact in these) and thus using Blaine's own dislike of making his difficulties common knowledge against him in order to 'punish' him. This is no good! Don't do this!!.[Also just to err vaguepost about a comment.... that is. not. what i would call passive aggressive. Physically attacking someone with a sword - no matter the type of sword, fencing foils hurt just as much, they're just not stab-you sharp... er, these days - is just straight-up aggressive.]).
Note that negative things stick in the mind better than positive ones; on a rewatch I may well alter my opinion!
But also I'm really, really stubborn. So it's not likely. Klaine.
#how the fuck do i tag this#glee#glee shite#ask game#anti-klaine#anti-brittana#anti-kurt#though it isn't because i do like him genuinely one of the better characters. he just... doesn't treat blaine great because they're#fundamentally incompatible romantically. and that's fine! but taking this out on each other isn't.#augh. i hate talking about controversial shit a;lksfja;slkf i used to get So Scared of anon hate mobs you have no idea#if i thought something could get that i simply would never ever not one even dare to think it. let alone say it online in a private forum#(dms with my friends) or god forbid a public post#so. this is growth!#you could say i just got a really weird form of catholic guilt about dissenting from public opinion when i was like 14. you'd also probably#be correct! As I was catholic. And all. Not very devout mind you (did not. go to church.) but still#anyways.#... there's so much i could say about brittany as a character but i'd have to rewatch to make sure i was being accurate about her.#so much that isn't exactly glowing commendation. to be clear.#augh. this show gives me so many very very mean thoughts about it. because it does things so very meanly most of the time#it handles beaste well. Coach Beaste is great. 11/10 character#but so much other stuff it gets just so wrong. just so wrong#(also i never finished the show. actually like genuinely i just missed a whole portion of it. so if they fuck up Beaste at some point I hav#not seen I'll be really really mad.)#(I found out about some of the later events-second hand. i don't 100% know how the brittana marriage goes down but i just... don't like it#as a concept. like at all. they're too young and too unstable for that shit.)#(basically; towards the end i was still watching the show on tv. so i missed whole swathes of episodes thanks to how tv works. do not miss#that headache!)#augh. i should shut up now and go to bed. midnight.)#<3 thanks for the ask! Hope i didn't say anything you disagree with too strongly...

lol anon back (same anon that listed why Rami is amazing)! I got more 🙃
He’s our clumsy king and owns it
He fell at the Oscars, fell/pushed off a side railing, did parkour only to fall when he started running on the ground (it was a Mr. Robot blooper), fell backwards in a fucking chair, and tripped during the Red Carpet at the Met Gala. This man literally trips over air and himself but we still love him ❤️
Spending time with Emma who is non-binary
Literally does make a difference because it helps non-binary people feel like they’re noticed!
Puts so much thought and consideration i to his characters and roles!
Just think about all he had to do for “The Pacific”, “Mr. Robot”, and “Bohemian Rhapsody”! Definitely lots of dedication and hard work and passion for his roles, like wow.
Rami’s hair
Never gets old and I love his curly hair era! Also wavy hair too! Wonderful hair lol
He has great expectations for his roles
In an interview, Rami was asked if he was happy about “Night at the Museum” casting a pharaoh correctly. Rami’s reaction literally said, “that shouldn’t be something to be super overly happy about, it should just be casted correctly”. Good expectations honestly.
Rami was the side character for so damn long and steals every scene he’s in
Rami is literally amazing in all scenes he does and even if he’s not the main character, all eyes are on him (at least mine are 😌)
He’s one of the best versatile actors I think I’ll ever witness!
This man has literally played: a gay teenager who was crushing on his best friend
traumatized war veteran who has a thick Cajun accent
an iconic and memorable lead band singer
Alcatraz prisoner who plays the violin
ancient mummy pharaoh that comes to life at night
hacker with d.i.d and ptsd
a doctor named Adam Terry
random dude in Battle Ship
a vampire with a cool scarf
a mountain man and in real life Rami gets the chance to squabble in a tiny boat with his identical twin lmao (best sibling fight we’ll ever witness, @the-real-ramimalekpeen have you used this scene for Twin Tuesday yet?)
a 6’0 tall guy in a video game who was said to most likely have schizophrenia
a dude with a beard
a weirdo guy in the literal fucking show “BoJack Horseman”
and like so many other characters I’m choosing not to describe
Already said he was a “bad boy” and pranks people but he’s literally really funny
Have you seen him in different interviews? Such a charmer and pretty funny as well.
Like the interview with Charlie Hunnam where there was a question about Rami’s eye color and he and Charlie were teasing each other and trying to find out Rami’s eye color. Then some pictures are also pretty funny.
Also the “DoLittle” game with Robert Downey Jr (Rami’s whole outfit and appearance during the Ellen Show with Robert Downey Jr 😩👌 literally here for his outfit, freaking immaculate lmao)
“wE sHot LiVe aiD oN dAy onE”
That’ll be in my head forever, thanks Rami
“A playful smooch”
I don’t think I’ll recover from the shocked looks on everybody’s faces when Rami exposed how he had a kiss with Daniel Craig.
His fans are wonderful
This man has the best real fans. Which includes the fan artists, fanfic writers, and people who just appreciate him and/or his films! also people who stand up for him which is YOU Flipper and RamiPeen 👏
Photo shoots
How can you look at his photo shoots and NOT smile??? Precious but also sexy man.
Again he has a literal soft spot for children
That one time where I’m pretty sure he read a book to a few children
Best hugs
He seriously gives the sweetest and warmest hugs. Like can I get a hug?? 🫂
Oppenheimer moments
I don’t care what anyone says about his role in Oppenheimer. He had literally eight minutes of screen time yet still went for the fucking jugular and was successful.
The bulge
He has no shame and no, I won’t expand on this except… @the-real-ramimalekpeen 😉
Doesn’t give a fuck about haters
Lmao y’all hated Rami in Amsterdam and thought his character was stupid? Well he probably doesn’t give a shit (or is obliviously living his best life) lmao.
Ages like fine wine
God he looks like he’s in his fucking thirties in so many pictures. Raise your hand if you ever looked at a picture of him and thought, “oh a picture when he was in his twenties!” and it turns out the picture was taken in his fucking 40s… a few days ago… Unproblematic people age perfectly.
His smile makes me smile
Could he be any cuter??? His smile literally is so wonderful.
Most caring thing you’ll see all day and is husband material
When he was giving Emma his jacket, comforting the woman (friend) who was crying and thanking the waitress, and so many other events 🥺
Okay anyways got even more than this lol… sorry for rambling on about our Rami. I’m just so happy I finally get the chance to share my Rami findings and thoughts I’ve collected over the years.
I love your love for him!

Can you connect the German city of Kiel to Diehard please? Thanks
Well the lazy way of doing this is the villain in Die Hard is Hans Gruber who was German and Kiel is in Germany. I could also be like: Oh Bruce Willis was born in Germany and yeah. But I love making things more convoluted than that...
So, we all know that Bruce Willis is in Die Hard, but an even more important role was his role as Tony Amato in one singular episode of Miami Vice, which we all know stars Don Johnson in it, who we all know was in Rian Johnson's movie Knives Out, which we all know. Ok I'll stop, even if this is just for you. You know actually I really wanted to connect this to Knives Out and then to 10 Things I Hate About You or 3rd Rock from the Sun because of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, but I have changed my mind, as it turns out Edward James Olmos is in the same Miami Vice episode as Don Johnson. Okay, so Edward James Olmos is Admiral Adama in Battlestar Galactica, which also stars Michael Hogan, from your favorite TV show ever, Teen Wolf. BUT, he is also in Skyrim as General Tullius. Skyrim also has Christopher Plummer as Arngeir, who was also in Knives Out. But that's not as fun as connecting to Charles Martinet, who was in the Mario movie despite not playing Mario but whatever. Now, as much as I love Charlie Day and want to connect through him, I feel the need to connect through Crisp Rat, but I'm resisting that cause I had a revelation. Charlie Day is in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, starring Danny DeVito, but Kim Whalen was in an episode of that show, and I love Starkid. Corey Dorris is also in Starkid and he was in an episode of Future Man, which has our icon, Josh Hutcherson, who was in Journey to the Centre of the Earth with Brendan Frasier, who was in the Mummy with Rachel Weisz, and she is married to Daniel Craig, bringing us BACK to Knives Out. Am I losing track of the mission?? NO!!!! So, Knives Out has many amazing cast members, but one of the more iconic ones, is Frank Oz. I just realized that my goal was to eventually bring my connection to the Lion King, and I can easily do that now cause Frank Oz is Yoda, but also that's lame cause I wanted to bring it to Matthew Broderick, but let it be known that we could just do Frank Oz to James Earl Jones at this point. So, Frank Oz was in Star Wars with Mark Hamill, who is in many, many things, such as Avatar, which features Dee Bradley Baker as Appa. He is also Perry the Platypus in Phineas and Ferb (for some reason my brain broke and almost wrote Despicable Me). Phineas and Ferb features Thomas Brodie-Sangster, which is always very funny to me, but it also has Ashley Tisdale, who was in the wonderful movie, 2009's Aliens in the Attic. Aliens in the Attic features many people, including Austin Butler, someone who was in the After movies, Tim Meadows, and Andy Richter, who played Mort in Madagascar. Ben Stiller is in Madagascar, who was in Night as the Museum, which has Rami Malek, who was in Bohemian Rhapsody with Joe Mazzello, who is in Jurassic Park (AND a movie called Star Kid). Jeff Goldblum is in Jurassic Park and also in Thor: Ragnarok, which also has Sam Neill in it, but unrelated to the goal at hand. Thor has Chris Hemsworth, who was in 2009's Star Trek, starring Chris Pine, who was in Wonder Woman with Robin Wright, who is in the Princess Bride with Cary Elwes, who was in Psych. Since they are not in the same episode, James Roday Rodriguez is in Psych, and so is Ally Sheedy, who was in War Games with Matthew Broderick.
To answer your question, yes, I came to the official conclusion that I really needed to get on track or this would literally last forever. Crazy how I can get myself to do this and not my homework. Ignore the fact that it took me over a month to respond to your question. Matthew Broderick is Simba in the Lion King, which also features Nathan Lane as Timon. Nathan Lane was in The Nutcracker: The Untold Story, which I know about solely because of Danny Gonzalez. Nathan Lane plays Albert Einstein in this movie, and so, within the lore of the movie, we could accurately state that because Albert Einstein exists within the movie, so does Max Planck, who knew Lise Meitner. I just wanted to say that cause I am aware as to how much you love her. But Max Planck was born in Kiel. Thank you and goodnight.
If I wanted to play this seriously, and not in my convoluted "6" Degrees of Michael Sheen way, probably could've connected Die Hard to Charlie Chaplin somehow, who met Albert Einstein but NO!!
I hope you enjoy this well thought out response, @wiggogwiggogywrath :)
P.S. That point where I was nervous about this going on forever took A LOT of willpower to not continue. Like I was gonna go into the After series and then end up in Harry Potter or some shit. I'm sure I would eventually run into both Smosh and Dropout cause I am addicted. Luckily for you, I was so concentrated at the task at hand, I somehow like forgot that I usually include those too but whatever. There ya go. Bitch.
P.P.S. I just wanted to do this cause now I can't stop please send help oh god oh no I can't stop, can't stop typing why did you do this to me I can't escape
P.P.P.S. Bye :)
#ask#six degrees of separation#six degrees of kevin bacon#im going insane#im going slightly mad like the queen song that totally is not stuck in my head now :)

My Movie Review: "I Wanna Dance With Somebody"
I'm FINALLY getting around to writing this movie review after all of the unfortunate craziness that's been going on in my life for the past two months.....🤪🤦🏾♀️
Anyway, I saw “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” at theaters over a month ago lol! 😅 I just wanted to share my own personal Movie Review, and see what you all maybe thought about the film as well.
**NOTE: I will first start off by giving a very general overview/review of the movie overall, and then further down below, I will discuss the pros and cons from the movie, and will go more in-depth and be more candid with how I felt about the movie. 😊
With that said….
OVERALL:
Overall, I felt like this movie was the type of film that someone who is a fan of Whitney's music might want to check out just for the sheer enjoyment of her music alone.
I had forgotten how many great hits Whitney had over the years, and how many of her songs have been iconic to me growing up. I've always been a huge fan, and so this movie was a nice tribute to her music. I got chills down my spine during some of her performance scenes. 😊 I was even singing and dancing along to most of her music lol. 😂 There were quite a few things that I didn't know about Whitney's personal life (especially her younger life) that this movie seemed to touch on a little bit, so that was interesting. Personally? I felt like the acting of Naomi, Ashton, Nafessa, and Tamara Tunie especially, really stood out in this film imo.
PROS:
The music was great!
The acting was decent
I liked the "back-in-time" 80s and 90s wardrobe/fashions lol
They tried their best to make the cast look like the real Whitney/Bobby/Clive/Cissy/Bobbi Christina, etc.
I feel like I learned a lot more about Whitney's younger life, and her relationship with Robyn than I knew about.
I actually felt like Nafessa kind of stole the show in her scenes with Naomi. 👀
CONS:
I hate to say it.... But the main thing that took me out of this movie each and every time was the fact that Naomi looked NOTHING AT ALL like Whitney HOUSTON!!!! 😤😡 Usually I'm not that picky and I don't really care as much and I can suspend my disbelief even if the actor doesn't look exactly like the real person in history because their acting is so good, but for some reason, with this movie, I just couldn't do it.....I'm sorry! I would hear Whitney's VOICE singing, but then when I would LOOK at the actress, it just took me out of the whole entire scene. :(
I almost felt like it was someone cosplaying as Whitney Houston. To her credit, Naomi is a great actress... But I just kept asking myself throughout the whole entire movie: "You mean to tell me there were NO African-American actresses who looked a LITTLE like Whitney that they could have chosen for this role??"
Whoever wrote this film certainly gave Bobby Brown the "Good Edit", cuz ummmm..... 👀 In this movie they almost made it seem like Bobby and Whitney just had regular normal spats like most couples, and we all know THAT is a lie. 😒🙄 I'm shocked they didn't show her with not one black eye in the film, nor did they even allude to him hitting her. But oh well....
My other gripe with this movie was the fact that I didn't feel like enough money was put into it. I feel like this movie should have been BIGGER. I have seen at least two Whitney biopics now (a made-for-TV one, and this movie), and EACH and every single time, I feel like they just don't do Whitney's life story justice. I feel like it's always some low-budget type deal. 🥴 I'm sorry, but after seeing awesome biopics like "Ray", "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Elvis", "JFK", "Malcolm X", etc. , I just can't with this biopic. It's just NOT on the same level as those others at all. It makes me sad that it almost felt like they didn't even TRY with this biopic. 😔
MY OVERALL SCORE: 6/10 - Overall, if you love Whitney's iconic music, and just want to have a great time dancing and enjoying a light-hearted film, then check it out! But if you're expecting this film to be on any sort of level as other biopics done.... Then, you're going to be sorely disappointed. 😔 They just didn't put as much MONEY into this film as I would have hoped. I just hope that Michael's biopic has some BIG money behind it. I just feel like Whitney's biopic deserved better...and I would have started by casting someone else as the lead. 👀
I gave this movie a chance even despite my overwhelming feeling that the actress looked NOTHING like Whitney. I tried...But it did make a difference in some of my enjoyment of the film. (no offense) Maybe it's because I actually remember when Whitney was alive lol. Anyway.... Overall, it's a fun movie to watch at least once, and I encourage anyone who is just a fan of her music to check it out. I would say that it's streamable.... It's not one you have to watch on the big screen in other words. It was good fun though! So, definitely one worth checking out if you're a fan of Whitney's music. 😊👍

Revised Jumpcahin Companion Stand Listing
Primarily from a single player CYOA/RP format called Jumpchain. It is about serial crossover travel. The player or Jumper can gain powers and characters. Many of these names and their relationships will be familiar but some have deviated from canon but developed for the better too.
The main character’s a self insert referred to as Jumper or The Jumper and eventually gets abilities to transfer and alter Stands. I ruled perfect transfers are nigh impossible or risky so some changed.
Benefactor is a Jumpchain term. A common conceit is you are contracted by a Ambiguous/Amoral Random Omnipotent Being to entertain it for a decade at a time in each setting. After that it moves you as a Quantum Leap, Reincationation to awaken at a certain age, or ISOT'd to next link on or off chain
This uses a lesser format of entries, the crossover stand thread in the Creative Writing Index thread for Stands on Spacebattles
Okay got to edit some more...
Stand User: Harold "Coop" Coplowski-Test
Crossover From: MEGAS XLR, Jumpchain
Stand: Spin That Wheel of Fortune Rida Round
Wheel of Fortune with ability to program in actions, can only possess one vehicle at a time but creates profiles specific to each applies and rapidly, can leave alterations but this drains user, also enables/embodies his savant driving and tech skills
Reference: You Spin Me Right Round, Flo'Rida derived song, Wheel of Fortune Tarot and Stand
Stand User: Susan Coplowski-Test
Crossover From: Johnny Test
Stand Name: Burning Down the House
Collect and manifest lost things or carry them as planned or prepared
Canon (Emporio's stand)
Stand User: Mary Coplowski-Test
Crossover From: Johnny Test
Stand Name: Under World
Uncover, interview, and etc things from "earth's memory" She's gotten it to un-bury from anything stands on. Seems to enable such tunneling and digging as well
Another canon stand.
Stand User: Aang
Crossover From: Last Airbender
Stand Name: Galileo
His Cosmic Self, an expression of his growing understanding of Void/Spirit/Energy which aids and follows him learning to bend all types connecting from that deepest level of activity to the highest. Tends to need to re-tune each Jump but gets better/more efficient each relearning. Can mold ala Stone Free and similar stands into, over, out of, or replace his form as well as traverse or stand in many planes at once as wish or reach out or step to them"
Reference: Bohemian Rhapsody... okay not really more Indigo Girls
Stand User: Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore
Crossover From: Harry Potter
Stand: Hooghswatching
Allows him to extend through any shadow and images/reflections of himself he casts in 2d form and then appear at or through in whole or part. He may also observe from POV of image or through his shadow (Hangman meets Man in the Mirror meets Black Sabbath and so on)"
Reference: Rockwell-Michael Jackson Collab Somebody's Watching Me
Stand User: Broses Christ
Crossover From: Broforce
Stand: Aino Etwasda Blood
Hermit purple but with thorns that can shine like the sun. Hamon psychokinesis with Passion level control, and can absorb all arts and perks from Broforce, or compatible to Hamon/Ripple
Broforce - Manifests as if the Iron Eagle of Broforce but shifts like t-1000 to other forms, favoring Fu-Dog, Goat-Bull-Rhino with two Horns and fast vehicle wheels and heave exhaust flumes, and thick stout figure that could be a BBWILA or a Himbo
Super Star Nazareth – Aku Level Shapeshifting star icon looking More like cross between the Star of Bethlehem (8 or 14 points or a parul), sometimes shine/flashes as a Steed that is a blend of a horse, sheep, and donkey -with four legs, two long ears, and long ponytail- that also has star elements and a blood hagoromo. This Stand can overtake or empower what it embeds in as if a symbol on the item then acting as link to draw to learn/copy. Can broadcast, translate, reflect, and store waves and energy. Neverending Growth Potential but restarts with strength of only the mightiest mortal weapons of World finds itself on. Most Spin compatible of his Stands"

References: Sheila E's hit single
Stand User: Dwarven Noble
Crossover From: Dragon Age

Effectively Oasis with enhanced hearing through earth structures and any Flash (DC Comics) vibration tricks enabled. Unable to liquify people and effectively enhances Earthbending, including toph-dar, for him. Developed from an extension of learning The Spin, EB, and Hamon
References: Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch teeny bopper
Stand User: Dwarven Son
Crossover From: Dragon Age
Stand Name: Heigh Ho! or Dig x 7
Developed from his Hamon Mastery. It is a Hermit Purple alike that favors the belladonna appearance tangled about and nearly concealing a wizened cephalothorax crone-man-baby. Additionally can induce effects like Diver Down or Hey Yeah! Also Super-Ventriloquism and with it mesmerism, super effective against animals/beast minds. Additionally seems to clean and freshen his breath & air. Non sensitives/psychics can detect it

Stand User: Genjuro
Crossover From: Flame of Recca
Stand Name: Iridescent Nehushtan
White Snake only now with a more … investigative persona, but No C-Moon or MiH abilities, it explicitly, per Benefactor, cannot evolve into MiH. The closest being able to is channel and transfer kinetic energies from one thing, even living, to another
References: White Snake reference/renaming. Also Religious allusion to the bronze serpent used to by Moses to heal Israelites
Stand User: Katara
Crossover From: Last Airbender
Stand Name: Isis
Primary: Similar to Daniel J. D'arby's Osiris but instead emphasizes oaths, agreements, commitments, and triggers on certainty of being caught as well as if sensing defeat or Soul Energy lowest.
Secondary: Sniffing connections between things based on personal bond and association. Does extend ability to sense flow and movement of water if one part connects to another, so extends range of water sensing as one part near her its furthest reach can be traveled to by the stand and so the extension of her influence at no strain and THEN range limit applies from that point.
Tertiary: As kin to the Moon of her world has a favorable association with lunar things, this extends to her family and connections but through/because of her.
References: As alluded to this is a take off the Egyptian Ennead gods. Where she was conspicuously absent in Part 3
Stand User: Koku
Crossover From: Flame of Recca
Stand Name: Rod it All Night Long (or less provocative and shorter Stewart Highway)
Personally Created based on own spiritual Abilities (was a ghost) after some time observing and trading others to develop his own.
RiANL is effectively Heaven's Door only due to spiritual nature Koku fires HIMSELF into the person and can read, and rearrange, even burn things. Allowing access to anyone and anything's "inner world" though some more active and defiant than others. Also can only reside until next sunrise or sunset and its not impossible for someone to notice or draw from him while he is within. This also allows him to "fire" himself ala Casshern or similar to a point. Air kanji, reading or seeing something his wrote or painted, touching him or his works makes you a valid target to zap into.
References: Rod Stewart (and Rascall Flatts awesome cover for Cars) easy rock beat, Life is a Highway.
Stand User: Love God
Crossover From: Gravity Falls
Stand Name: Dove's Eye
This "Stand" (actually all of his are akin to Earth, Wind, and Fire, Ballbreaker and similar "not necessarily true/normal Stands") represents his instinctive skill, acceptance, charisma, savant-ism, or so on with Love in all forms and experiences.
Gal'ga Cherubi Choir Cupidité -Dominos iracundos ululatus
Deep down LG isn't one being but a multitude or plurality. Once the words "Heus, audite clamores iracundos dominos!" shared his cherubim self manifests. Parabola of faces, eyes, feathers, vintage rock, cuteness, love, and retro coolness in ever ringing circling and dancing tie and motion like electrons, planets, or blood cells appear with his chosen flourish and presentation. These cherubs or amoretti or putti can become just abstract shapes of light and feeling conglomerating into as many bows as there are "eyes" that are on his light. Eyes meaning anything that receives and responds to said glow/image. He may then fire the effects of his sparkles as missiles through the arc-and-line shapes as far as perceived and knows who and what perceives him and their enthusiasm for or profile on love, or can glance their aura and skims 'the sonnet of the soul' in that context. Tends to burn in an impression as intensely and rapidly and continually as a light fills an area or as digs deeper to read a thing and so must responsibly limit his own distance and scope and luminosity which is a bit hard as mortal things don't shine as brightly as he does now.
Ur-Comet Mitre Dew Spark-a-Motion
The ability to manifest the spiritual/conceptual of love and self, powers, or so on he has or touches as cherubim into physical form. Once formed they are. And only undone or changed by mortal re/action or experience (can't just undo or de-materialize aside from going full unmask and reabsorbing, and however impossible seem subject to and respond to natural laws despite being and enacting its supernature) How he makes his potions and the underlying principle behind his powers over and onto not-Heaven places "
References: Dove's Eye is a phrase of affection used in The Song of Solomon the Bible's unapologetic love poem that has mention of a bare breast and remarkably NOT so chaste in all expression as would assume or expect. The term used to compare someone's beauty/character and quoted a bit for how it hits or how precious and unique and so on.
The second stand is a bunch of references to angels, cupid, or spirits or feelings or acts of passion or ardor. Cupidity, the feeling which is much more in line how Eros and his roman counterpart feared/seen, Galga or Spheres being a type of angel that may or may not also be the Cherubim as both attributed to the same vision in Ezekial Chapter 1 verses 4-28. And there is a supposed choir of angels called the "Masters of Howling" given to celebrate at times of day aloud. The choir name makes up the Stand name AND trigger phrase but in MTL Latin.
Finally, spoken aloud, the final Stand name is a reference to Donnie Darko. Also mitre, a bishop hat. I don't think, there is comet named or associated with it. Or an ersatz child surburban dance troupe.
Stand User: Fran Madaraki
Crossover From: Franken Fran
Stand Name:
Took so well to Hamon manifested her own Hermit Purple Alike. Viola-iest Moine, It took a lot of begging and service but eventually also granted Heirophant Green which she can bond and use like Jolyne does Stone Free. Surpassing in technical precision and diversity and capacity the original user.
She can briefly fuse these Stands to Become Princess Pauline Wisteria, capable of filling the air with medicine to heal or harm or saturate the landscape, vermin and smaller beasts tend to be commanded and can be ""conquered"" or ""adopted"" into this form which plants in place (but may spread out) and chopped from key root/trunk which translates to Fran. Can mentally access her garden at anytime and take items has firm 'grip' of to there and work in dilation and peace"
References: Wisteria are tree associated with japanese art and specifically Hanafuda cards, so likely why chosen as name for one of Mario’s rescued ladies by traditional publisher of japanese games, Nintendo.
Fran Madaraki's other original stand is shout out to jazz musician Theolonious Monk as well as an alternate name for The Hermit tarot card, "La Moine," or the Monk.
Stand User: Gavril Madaraki
Crossover From: Franken Fran
Stand Name: Enma BITCH
Basically Dog's empath and sensing powers but more based in scent and touch as to just sound. She can also shuffle her traits and their strengths a qualities for different loadouts. Between hers and symbiot which can ALSO borrow from others. it invades."
References: Bitch by Meredith Brooks. Also Buddhist underworld god who is seen as monstrous if...necessary.
Stand User: Renge Moran
Crossover From: Flame of Recca
Stand Name: Nihil-Fire
A jacked and swole Avdol fused with Magician Red, black crested feather-hair,his sleeves or arms shifting or covered in flaming wings and legs streams of fier or raptor feet. Can interact with her Fire Spirit/the fiery flower as slaveguard/palaquin bearer/servant who dims behind.
Pyrokinesis with emphasis on absorbing, transforming, controlling heat and flames and all things fire even growing to understand and suborn to conceptual limit (not easily but possible) with some of her best feats transmuting anything (even not material things) to Fire."

Stand User: Ronon Dex
Crossover From: Stargate: Atlantis
Stand Name: Zestubo Billy
Like a scorpion with too many legs and ceramic parts, when stings someone splinters emotions and thoughts then revises them. Suppressing someone, exagerating others. With practice and time alter's the psyche then neurochemistry, then nerves, then biochemistry, then flesh, then bone, and more either continous contact or planned acute strikes."

Stand User: Ronaldo Fryman
Crossover From: Steven Universe
Stand Name: Secret Agent Man
Resembles a camera that upgrades off other cameras and recording devices. Semi independent.
Global range but object bound, so cannot be dismissed or completely unseen and increased suffering effect, if it is hurt, he is hurt badly.
If SAM is active and seen by a person he or she will connect them with Ronaldo or at least recognize and think of one with the other.
No obfuscation deceives or blocks the glare of his camera. But when keep secret what so obtained cannot be deceived or misrepresented Can psychically record events without bias or projection into memory, even reexamine the flash of time as if there. Eventually can share experiences and include non-visual senses. Though Ronaldo knew how to read lips and guess temperature and other such before being initiated into jumpchain "

Stand User: Sam Merlotte
Crossover From: True Blood
Stand Name: And The Hairy Ones Shall Dance
Horned and hairy manifestation of himself in hoary, brown, and purple smoke or shadow
Increases the intensity of his vibrating energy but also makes it more responsive to people/nature. If breathed, swallowed, or pierces something or someone he can transfigure its essence and form to be outgrowth of something in theme to his inherited and developed legend/essence. Can produce legendary beasts of greek or local myths, rumor, or cryptids as immaterial but spiritually affecting phantoms. With the sacrifice of blood, wine, or other offerings he may make it completely real but still imprinted upon and worshipful of him
References: Biblical phrase (associated with Book of Isaiah) often interpreted to mean different things. Such as satyrs, he-goats, Shedim, etc. Also title to a pulp horror/occult investigation story by Manly Wade Wellman originally in Weird Tales about investigating a spiritualist and werewolf. Think a predecessor to occult investigators like Kolchak.
Stand User: Tenzin
Crossover From: Last Airbender
Stand Name: Frroyd
Stand is outgrowth of his spiritual mastery. He can filter things in an "atmosphere" hear far off sounds and bare witness when meditate and even draw information psychometrically by projecting himself into the past while making his body stone (actually time frozen so impenetrable and unmovable) as he exams an area. Because of this he is starting to invent Spin like arts from first principles. He also has the ability to travel to the future, becoming like air in the present and reforming there,, but the trip is one way for him and he will only rejoin the group after he has truly lived out ten years in a world.
References: Pink Flloyd and, of course, the father of modern Psychoanalysis. Sigmund Freud.
Stand User: Dr. Tim Marcoh-Blakely
Crossover From: Full Metal Alchemist (2003 anime)
Stand Name: Shine'n Crazy Diamond
Transfer of Crazy Diamond but different limits as Marcoh knows biology and chemistry much more profoundly and differently than Josuke, but can enter a mad inspiration state inspired by Josuke's own capacity to go wild with powers or tactics"
References: DiU lead's Stand, Shine On You Crazy Diamond.
Stand User: Wilson Fisk
Crossover From: Marvel Comics (fusion of 616, 90s animated, MCU, and others)
Stand Name: Strength Z-Est Biggering
The enthralled Fisk has been given a jailbroken version of Strength. It's enhancement and control/awareness abilities can be used on anything capable of holding.
One idea is gaining the Forever Bag then use the Stand power on it and make an oppulent palatial estate with Tardis meets Potter levels of space folding and development meets Dolmabahçe aims and architecture.
References: Biggering is from The Lorax, the term from the book and a song recorded but not chosen for the Illumiation movie release replaced by How Bad Can I Be but released with soundtrack purchase. All about excessive expansion driven by greed fueled by pride. Also Strength used by the orangutan Forever in Part 3 of JJBA. Zest refers to using citrus fruit to flavor a dish. And of course Dragonball Z a rebranding/sequel series to Dragonball noted for its increase in power and action.
Stand User: Cyber Colossus Ralph
Crossover From: Wreck-it Ralph
Stand Name:
Really more formalization of abitlities, encoding, or algorithms of exercises of his Titan power. Ralph can make and hold as many Stands as make up the number of bits that made up the actual renderings of him and Ralph Kong. He is literally a source and creator and granter of Stands. His are attuned primarily & 1st to e-space but can transition with work and redefintion. These are just more sampling.
___man-Fever- represents hows Ralph leaves imprints and shadows of himself in reduction from his Titan form and mind with limited thinking and feelings but permenantly working and asserting the impression and intention where made. Usually their prefix hinting at mood or function. One of him always exists beneath the most active commonly use code, holding it up like Atlas
G&B48 - Ability to shape and form cybermatter and space to new forms including Stands or any phenom or function, really.
Pinball Wizard - Savantism with code, electronics, and what have you. Uncapper on understanding and interacting with coding and current and can choose to without himsrlf being affected. Also can do cyber manipulation from his own limbs to do more on any device with a console or filled with electricity, or the parts of something that are. This includes brains.
Cabinet Man - Can merge flesh beings with electronics or electric devices. Allowing the sustenance of one to support the other as they develop and evolve from the union. May reprogram character or form when doing so, giving them new purpose, function, or drives
Owl City - controls the time of day or lights in the atmosphere as far as he is seen and can see
Polybius- Videogames and TV rots your brains, or eats it, or liquefies it. All who perceive Ralph's image or that he's wrought or present through can be affected and he may appear through efen the image in their minds eye. Combines with X-Man Fever so often has subliminal telepresence and influence and shadows in user population
Dew it - Much less effeciently translate things existing in his world to the real world as real things. Well ANY world/state of being but if not 'fit' or well constructed may fall apart over time into pixels. Most effective if he's consumed and processed it increasing ease and control. Also allows him to enable himself, others, or creations to subsist on screen lighting and gaming sound or music for energy, if not nourishment
References: Pac-man Fever by Buckner and Garcia who, before one of the iconic duo passed, released a theme song for the Title Character of Wreck-It Ralph sort of explaining the 'canon' take on his game.
The credits song of the same movie "When Can I See You Again" was the more international/english song associated with the movie performed by Owl City.. apparently one guy who is not a techno musician but some other specific genre that uses electronic processing and so on to give his songs and performances edge.
AKB48 was an old 48 member idol group when WiR was new and hired to make the OTHER big song associated with the movie, Sugar Rush, the title of the film in Japan. Not a bad music video and got them a little more visibility.
Polybius is an urban legend of a random arcade cabinet that might have been an experiment to control minds for the government and this gaming legend semi-foundation for "Lemon Demon" group of...well they do nerdy or weird music.
Their big name is Neil Cicierega. They are attributed as the original minds behind Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny, at the least did a much fresher cover! Cabinet Man, by them on their album Spirit Phone, about a man who somehow killed himself in some likely perverted way but merged with a video game arcade cabinet while still somewhat alive until the death of arcades lead to his death in an abandoned one some night in winter near Christmas. One of his powers was being "in their minds" and being half human and half machine he could play against any player to match their skill and efforts. A legendary challenge But also ate humans on the side.
I had to put a Game Fuel AND Meme culture reference in there.
Stand User: Zelda
Crossover From: The Legend of Zelda (I)
Stand Name: Naryu's Temperance
Yellow Temperance but now allowing the shape-changing skin to as well as form a bubble that can be sticky, bouncy, floaty, and more over her, even adjust and focus light that passes through as if of arranged lenses, prisms, or kaleidoscopes
References: As said though also reference to the spell Naryu's Love which surrounds Link in a forcefield and the name Naryu attributed to the Goddess of Wisdom or Zelda's virtue most associated in
Stand User: Unc Nunkie / Stephan Seebania / Bluebeard
Crossover From: The Patchwork Girl of Oz
Stand Name: Killer Queen-British Blüt
Transfer of the deceased Yoshikage Kira’s Stand albeit cat features looking more like the original British Blue that became Stray Cat in features and more underdressed bavaric pastoral strongman as to Barbaric egyptian brute. Retains Sheer Heart Attack and the Trip Mine/preparation and condition of Bites The Dust but not its time powers

The must-see Queen show at Brisbane's Twelfth Night Theatre
New Post has been published on https://qnews.com.au/the-must-see-queen-show-at-brisbanes-twelfth-night-theatre/
The must-see Queen show at Brisbane's Twelfth Night Theatre
There’s no stopping the Queer icon of Queen Freddie Mercury in The Show Must Go On: The Best of Queen.
This September, Twelfth Night Theatre is putting the ‘Queen’ in ‘Queensland’ as we prepare to be rocked by the transcendent music of Queen in The Show Must Go On: The Best of Queen.
Audiences will enjoy six incredible vocalists complete with a rock band and the orchestral stylings of the Cadenza Chamber Players.
Fans of this legendary band and its frontman, Freddie Mercury (which is all of us, let’s be honest), can gleefully expect mega anthem after mega anthem.
Featuring Queen hits like Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, Another One Bites the Dust, Somebody to Love, Don’t Stop Me Now and so much more!
Why do we love Queen?
Bewitching audiences for decades with their theatrical fusion of Progressive Rock and Heavy Metal, Queen are a band that both defines an era and transcends generations. But it begs the question, what is it about Queen that we love so much?
“One of the reasons that I named the show The Show Must Go On is because Queen will always go on,” Music Director and Producer Lucas D. Lynch explains.
While Freddie Mercury is certainly the band’s most well-known member, the others were equally talented musicians, vocalists and writers. Brian May (guitar), Roger Taylor (drums) and John Deacon (bass) were all featured vocalists in Queen’s music, with each member having written at least one chart-topping song, making them the only band to ever do this.
Lucas, as well as being the Music Director and Producer of the show, is an acclaimed composer, orchestrator, pianist, and conductor having worked on numerous operas, ballets, theatre shows and beyond.
Describing Freddie as a “perfect Renaissance man,” Lucas’ diverse arts experience helps in understanding the full picture of Queen and how ahead of their time they were.
“Freddie was an ardent lover of opera and ballet,” Lucas tells us, referencing the band’s most famous song. “You think about Bohemian Rhapsody? What people didn’t think would work at the time will now live on in the memories of people forever.”
Glam rock
While the band’s music and theatricality certainly contributed to their legendary status, it still had another ingredient.
The Glam Rock influences of Queen ensured a steady flow of remarkable outfits which have since become synonymous with the band and are still referenced and replicated to this day.
Freddie’s skintight leotards, leather getups, camp costumes, sequin onesies, and signature gold jacket didn’t just help solidify his Queer Icon status, but also his place in the Fashion Halls of Fame.
The band also controversially appeared in drag for their I Want to Break Free video, parodying the characters of the UK soap opera Coronation Street. While loved by UK audiences and most of the world, MTV in the US was incredibly reluctant to air to video.
This didn’t stop the song from becoming one of their greatest hits, topping charts across the world and going double platinum; further showing just how ahead of their time they were.
“It’s that electric voltage, that electric energy,” Lucas says, describing the pure magic and art at work in Queen’s music and charisma. “It’s that raw and relentless talent that keeps people going back for more.”
And more is that the audiences of Brisbane will get!

The Show Must Go On: The Best of Queen
The concert, staged by Director Tess Hill, is led by a cast of six vocalists, each a professional in their respective fields of rock, heavy metal, country, folk and musical theatre.
Backed by their fellow cast, each vocalist will take turns assuming the role of Freddie to perform the songs that best showcases them in their Mercury element.
The vocalists will be joined by the Cadenza Chamber Players and a rock band, totalling twenty multi-instrumental superstars, making this show a true spectacle to behold. “Queen is epic” Lucas says, telling us something we can all agree with.
“Now I’m just trying to double down on that by putting an orchestra behind them as well.” Having orchestrated the show himself, Lucas explains that it was a fantastic opportunity as an orchestrator. “Queen has laid the perfect foundation, and all I’m doing is just expanding on what’s already brilliant. My job is just laying the orchestra over it, but I’m not touching the band, because Queen already got it right.”
Not a tribute show
Hitting Twelfth Night Theatre in September, audiences can expect something bigger than just a tribute show.
“This is not just another ‘tribute’ show … it’s going to be an 80-minute show of pure, raw, relentless energy with no interval. I think that’s the essence of Queen.”
Owner of Twelfth Night Theatre Gail Wiltshire echoes this sentiment.
“This is not a tribune show, I hate tribute shows!” she tells us with passion.
“But this brings the genius that was Freddie Mercury to life. We’re divided right now but under Mercury’s banner, we can march together and Freddy’s spirit will guide us.”
The flow of the show emulates a Queen concert. It’s guaranteed to have audiences stomping, cheering, laughing, clapping, and singing their favourite songs all the way through, because with Queen, how can you not?
“They still represent the present and future of music” Lucas tells us, explaining that this will be a Queen experience. “It’s sort of a Kaleidoscope of music, vocals and visuals,” complete with high-impact lighting, high-energy performances and all of Queen’s camp glory.

Bob Marley: One Love (2024) review
Every little thing… is not going to be alright!
Plot: Bob Marley: One Love celebrates the life and music of an icon who inspired generations through his message of love and unity. On the big screen for the first time, discover Bob’s powerful story of overcoming adversity and the journey behind his revolutionary music.
For a very special individual this is a very unspecial biopic. Bob Marley is well known legend and icon, and the movie sets out to present him as such, yet it’s done in such a banal and messy way. The film zeroes in on pivotal events that occurred in Marley’s life between 1976 and 1978, from a failed assassination attempt at his home to then his Smile Jamaica concert two days later, the creation of his “Exodus” album while self-exiled in the UK, and his return to his home country for the One Love Peace Concert. These were all really cool events in real life I’m certain, however in the context of the movie they lack and real energy or impact. The movie tries to act all mighty high and clever by not always telling a linear narrative, and instead jumping between non-chronological moments that it’s easy to get lost in the happenings. In fact, most of the movie consists of various montages and vignettes, as such allowing zero to no possibility to get even remotely invested in the story.
I feel really sorry for the cast. Kingsley Ben-Adair is evidently a charismatic chap, and Lashana Lynch is really trying to emote and bring out the dramatic chops, however due to the choppy editing and the movie being too distracted with jumping to the next Bob Marley song accompanied music video, these actors are never given the chance to sit down properly and have a proper deep conversation with one another. The revelation of Bob Marley finding out he has skin cancer might as well have been delivered in the same nonchalant tone as the old lady in the renowned worst movie ever made The Room when she proclaims “I got the results of the test back - I definitely have breast cancer!” after which everyone proceeds to never acknowledge this ever again. Alright, maybe not to that extreme, but the movie never provides the chance for the actors to breath and really explore the layers of their characters. Oh, James Norton is also in this film. What’s his role, you may ask? Honestly, Norton just looked like he was along because he liked the music, hence why he spends majority of the movie positively bopping and nodding his head.
The whole package feels awfully vanilla and under-cooked. The camerawork is uninspired and as mentioned the editing is all over the place. Heck, even Bohemian Rhapsody for all its problems managed to still make the concert sequences pop and be really entertaining. Any time however when Marley was singing here the camera would lazily move about as if it smoked so much green that it forgot where the hell it was. Speaking of Bohemian Rhapsody, just like Rami Malek in that film, Ben-Adir mostly only lip-syncs the famous singer’s songs, and I always find that to be very lazy trait in music biopics. Look, if you’re playing a famous music star you must give it all. Hence why I think Taron Egerton’s performance in Rocketman stands out so much - he made Elton’s songs his own, and overall became Elton John. Still can’t believe he didn’t even get nominated yet Rami Malek won the whole darn golden statue! Regardless, back onto the topic of Bob Marley: One Love - I am surprised this was signed off in as good enough to represent someone who’s life story is considered legendary and full of excitement. It feels lacklustre and thrown together…..and it’s produced by Brad Pitt! That’s right, Brad Pitt produced this mess. Dude should stick to acting.
Overall score: 3/10

'To bet against Christopher Nolan is to bet against the house – which is to lose like a fool – and yet he still came into summer movie season looking like something of an underdog.
In the great Barbenheimer clash of 23, Mattel’s smiley plastic plaything had a handful of built-in advantages: it was a peppy, colorful, feel-good comedy featuring one of the brightest movie stars of her generation as a pop-culture fixture already known and loved by the general public. Its rival, Oppenheimer, started to sound like a tough sell in comparison, a historical drama about the crushing depths of all-American guilt with a three-hour runtime, long stretches of black-and-white photography, a not-quite-name-brand leading man in Cillian Murphy, and an R rating restricting its audience. And while it’s true that Greta Gerwig’s foot-tall feminist icon may have won the battle, having already crossed the billion-dollar mark in its still-building take, they’ve both won the war.
This weekend, the little blockbuster that could passed the significant milestone of $900m worldwide box office, delivering a bona fide success beyond not getting crushed beneath Barbie’s high-heeled foot. Oppenheimer now holds the kind of standing that ensures a film’s place in posterity: it’s the biggest biopic ever (overtaking Bohemian Rhapsody), it’s the third-highest-performing theatrical release of the year (trailing only Barbie and the Super Mario Movie), the third-highest of Nolan’s career (right behind The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises) and the 12th-highest in the century-plus history of Universal Pictures (their all-time highest, if you discount franchise pictures). Oppenheimer still has a ways to go until the big billion, a benchmark it would need several additional weeks of in-theater play or a major re-release around awards season to hit. “Those last few miles of any theatrical run are the toughest,” says one senior Comscore analyst in a report from Variety. Even so, Nolan’s latest windfall demonstrates a heartening principle in this unpredictable biz of show – if you build it, they will come.
Oppenheimer may be the first tentpole in history to profit from stiff competition, its informal packaging with Barbie leading not to a standoff but a mutually beneficial centering in the zeitgeist. As a once-in-a-lifetime extenuating market circumstance, it hasn’t quite upended the conventional industry wisdom that distribution is a zero-sum game fought for a finite amount of attention and money per weekend. (Just look at how smaller titles like The Exorcist: Believer scurried away from the weekend of 13 October when Taylor Swift planted her flag on the date for her Eras Tour concert documentary.) That said, it has proven the no less meaningful lesson that if given something worth attending, viewers will be more than happy to go to the movies twice in a single weekend.
Describing a project with a nine-figure advertising budget as a word-of-mouth phenomenon feels wrong, though there’s no denying that the premiere coinciding with the beginning of the actors’ strike got a crucial boost from an organic fandom. Moviegoers worldwide responded to the film’s scale of spectacle and the depth of its reckoning with the same, enacted by a uniformly strong ensemble cast gathering A-listers around the father of the atomic bomb. It’s also helped that its dense moral calculus is capable of not just withstanding but rewarding multiple viewings, each one revealing further nuances about Oppenheimer’s tortured inner state.
From the outset, Nolan and Universal have foregrounded the immaculate craft involved in the technical aspect, which all but demanded to be seen on the hugest available screen with the highest possible presentational standard. Sold out for weeks at a time, showings on 70mm film or in Imax created the air of a can’t-miss event and bolstered the cumulative number with surcharges; Oppenheimer broke into the top five highest-grossing Imax releases, raking in a staggering $17m from 30 screens in its opening weekend and holding fast against Blue Beetle’s feeble attempt to displace it. If the Hollywood machine learns anything from all this, it’ll be a spike in releases pushed onto larger and pricier canvasses, the most easily replicable aspect of a sui generis smash.
The handsome earnings from both Oppenheimer and Barbie also re-establish an eternal truism that executives are loath to concede: that art made with some personal authorial sensibility appeals to the average consumer in a way that focus-grouped content made by committee cannot. The Barbie made by someone without the personality of Greta Gerwig could have gone the way of so many forgotten IP excavations, just as an Oppenheimer lacking Nolan’s tendency toward obsessive self-scrutiny could have lost sight of its ethical purpose while marveling at the bomb’s destructive power. It would be easy – and not totally incorrect – to write Barbenheimer off as a fluke, but the staying power of its less overtly commercial half testifies to the system’s proper functioning. Give a dependable talent the budget and latitude to create something good, make sure people know about it, and the grosses will follow.
The coming months will see the release of two big-swing productions fitting that mold, with Martin Scorsese’s thriller Killers of the Flower Moon and Ridley Scott’s epic Napoleon both due this awards season. Apple’s movie division hasn’t been so bullish about theatrical exhibition in the past, looking at it mostly as an awards qualification and glorified loss leader for the streaming subscriptions they’re really pushing. But the example of Oppenheimer could and should be instructive for digital-first upstarts. Trust your blockbusters to bust the block.'

Thank you so much for your tag <3. Disclaimer: these are not great movies per se, they are just my comfort movies. Media products can be very subjective and as long as we recognize they are not perfect but they work for us, fuck the rest <3
Rules: post 10 of your favorite comfort movies then tag 10 people.
The Warriors: One of my first fav movie ever. I was way too young to watch it, but the Rockstar videogame for Ps2 that my brother played, just made me fell in love with it.
The Dirt: It's just so familiar since I've seen it many times. It has the humor and the sadness, sure it's not perfect but it has a piece of my heart
Lost Boys: I was convinced by Jeords to watch it but I was afraid I wouldn't like it... well I WAS WRONG. It's very 80s but that's what makes it so unique. It has it all, the cheesiness and the sexy vampires.
Hunger Games Thrilogy: One of the best book to movie adamptation. " But there are much worse games to play." still make me cry like the first time I exit the cinema. It's thanks to this and many other YA movie that I took my first fangirl steps.
Bohemian Rhapsody: Like Andi said it's simple yet effective. The movie made me enter the rock fandom and I am so glad! Perfect casting and such great chemistry
Breakfast Club: Sometimes you just need to be understood and that's what this movie does. A simple yet effective story about how highschool can suck and that at the end of the day, we all have our curses and our blesses. Because screws fall out all the time, the world is an imperfect place.
Captain America, The Winter Soldier: I know, Marvel is far from great cinema, but sometimes I just need a "bromance" ( yeah sure, says the younger Alessia, a Stucky shipper ) between two 40s soldiers, a spy movie and Sebastian Stan before he decided to take part to a show that was done without the consent of one of the people involved (cough- Pam and Tommy- cough)
X-men Days of Future Past: Picture this : middle school me, who has never seen an X-men movie, hears nerdy classmates talking about this and young Alessia decides to watch the trailer : boom, instant love. The time traveling, the atmosphere, the iconic scenes. In general the X-men saga has a special place in my heart.
Barbie: Is it too early to put it in here? Probably. But I can't deny the range of emotions I felt while watching it, I can't describe how I laughed and cried and felt understood!
Mr Nobody: Such an interesting and complicated movie, yet it left a mark in my memory. Probably one of the reason I also love playing graphic adventures with choices à la Telltale.
I tag @legal-lost-boy @deep-space-siren @mxliv-oftheendless @welcometohollyweird @evenflowddts @aritamargarita @ladyshandioftheendless @officialmelkor @glamourizedcocaine @arnold-layne and everyone else who wants to do it! (no pressure <3)
thank you so much @fedalgaard for tagging me 🥺❤️
Rules: post 10 of your favorite comfort movies then tag 10 people.
frozen: it's just relatable to me and everyone calls me Elsa so I just accepted it
tangled: no words, it's just a comfort movie and I love every detail
10 things I hate about you: it's just one of those films that you can watch anytime and not get bored, it's cute, comforting and heath ledger is in it
home alone 1 and 2: (I know this is kinda cheating because they're two movies) they play it on tv every year in December and I've watched it every single year since I can remember, it brings me warm memories because I used to watch with my grandpa (they should've stopped filming them after home alone 2 because it all just went downhill from there) ((but the kid from home alone 3 is super adorable though))
the help: I could watch that film anytime, I don't have much to say about it because I just love everything
the devil wears prada: absolutely iconic and I hope we can all agree that Miranda wasn't the real villain, it was Andy's boyfriend and her friends 💅 fuck em
oceans 8: ✨women✨ that's all
bridget jones's diary: it's funny and hugh grant is in it, it reminds me of winter, my favorite season. I love to crawl under a fluffy blanket and make myself some hot chocolate and then put on bridget jones <3 can't wait
bohemian rhapsody: I know Hollywood is overdoing it with these biopics ever since bohemian rhapsody did so well at the Oscars, but this one really holds a special place in my heart and I love watching it whenever I can
shrek: it's a masterpiece, I don't make the rules 🤷🏼♀️
i tag: @emometalhead @awrestlinggirlwholoves80sbands @day-trippin-dreamer @ephyjeva @stars-kiss-the-sky and everyone else who wants to do it! 🩷 (no pressure guys)
