At least 40 people have drowned and are presumed to have died after their boat capsized on a river in northwest Nigeria, officials say. The wooden boat was ferrying more than 50 farmers to their fields across the river near Gummi town in Zamfara state on Saturday when it capsized, a local official said on Sunday.

Sea Serpent Hobie who is huge but still manages to hide perfectly in the kelp forests!

Who has bioluminescence and uses it both to terrify enemies and as a way to calm down people in distress, as a way for him to signal goodwill - and to show off when he feels like it!

Who can change his pigmentation similarly to octopi to communicate his mood and feelings! Or just to blend in with his surroundings (also as a nod to the way he changes filters in the movie!)

Sea Serpent Hobie who's frequently seen swimming with whale pods- Orcas being his favourites to hang out with (they sometimes go on yacht sinking trips together)

Sea Serpent Hobie who likes to give people a show and will show off by breaching right next to unsuspecting boats

did my swim test at the sailing club today and boy howdy. beforehand some of the old volunteers were talking about how they'd seen people lie and say they could swim and then start drowning when they actually did the swim test. and that was not me because i can in fact swim. but it has been probably 7 or 8 years since i have swam, and it turns out swimming requires a different kind of muscle strength than my normal activities. so as my limbs turned to lead towards the end of 50 meters, i did have to think very very very hard about how embarrassing it would be if i couldn't make it. BUT I DID MAKE IT

sonja hadn’t expected anything when she made it her mission to bring capsize back from the dead- properly this time. nothing good comes out of trying to play god, martha had told her so many times, ianites already tried, she's gone for good. to be completely honest, there was a point sonja had started to wonder if she was right. if pouring over thaumian texts for countless restless nights, experimenting with necromancy in hiding, if none of it would be worth it in the end. however, she never could have expected that in the time of the two getting reacquainted with one another when she finally was successful, that she would find herself, washed in the pastel pinks, oranges and subtle blues of twilight with the pirate captain's sweet lips pressed against hers, the setting sun through the pillars of mianite's temple glowing softly on them. it was a feeling of home she couldn't quite describe, but it was one she knows she hadn't felt in a long time.
