hey look we have an app that works! (works but still a wip) once again, something that's based on the boardgame we created and printed out for uni projects.

the design is fully done by me!! BUT it looks a bit shitty because the IT students have to draw over my stuff and copy it for the app :/ so I'm in the position of art directing it more like. it does look much neater than it was! here's an icon that will remain unchanged tho :)

8. Most anticipated upcoming game?

Silksong. Easiest question. I'm excited about Hades 2 and the Elden Ring dlc I haven't started yet and probably some other things but I will drop everything the second Silksong drops no matter what it is. I will buy it on every platform because they don't charge enough for their incredible work.

14. Worst game you’ve ever played?

I remember having an extremely negative opinion of a fairly popular game and I cannot remember anything about it.

15. Hardest game you’ve ever played?

I think Sekiro is the only game I've given up on due to difficulty (as an adult). I simply cannot parry. I remember getting to the end of some other game and thinking damn that was really hard and satisfying, and I put off answering this until I could look at my steam reviews but I still have no idea what it was oh well. Darkest Dungeon was pretty dang hard I never did finish that.

20. A game that made you cry.

I'm not much of a crier but it does happen occasionally. Some of the story endings in Mass Effect 3 come immediately to mind. Legion and Mordin especially. More recently I'm still a little fucked up about the first leveling dungeon in Shadowbringers. I had to just stop in the middle of the dungeon for a bit. I refuse to do it again it's too sad. Iykyk.

21. A game you thought you wouldn’t like, but ended up loving?

Dark Souls. I bounced hard off it the first time. It was a bad port and I didn't understand what was happening. I never would have considered trying it again unprompted, and now it's my favorite genre of game. Thanks Dan.

29. Favorite childhood game?

Star Control 2. I took pages and pages of notes and figuring this game out shaped me as a person. The different funky aliens are so cool. The ship that farts missiles is so funny. I wrote my first fanfic about this game (for school).

38. An unpopular gaming opinion you have.

Game designers should be putting zero effort into making things prettier and all of that effort into code optimization. There should honestly be no need for me to ever buy another computer again. Only a mildly unpopular opinion I know.

Also. 4X games should not have real time combat. Fuck you Stellaris. I know this one's actually unpopular because everyone I talk to disagrees with me but no one's made a good space 4X game since MOO2.

39. What’s something you want to see in the future of gaming?

More accessibility features. It's gotten so much better in recent years; every time a dev puts effort into comprehensive assist modes and adjustable captions and fully customizable controls and everything else, an angel gets its wings. But I'm still constantly encountering games where you can't disable motion blur or screen shake and still none of this is universal, we have a ways to go yet.

I'm always saying the expansion of these features is in fact the only thing that modern games have over older ones.
