I need need NEED someone to write a timetravel fic where canon-complacent middle school Katsudeku meet current pro-hero Katsudeku and find out Katsuki put thousands upon thousands into funding Izuku a quirkless pro-hero suit so he'd become a quirkless hero. And both of the little ones are baffled wondering how the hell they got to that point of closeness. Like could you even imagine Chapter 1 Izuku discovering that he became a hero while quirkless and Chapter 1 Katsuki seeing how much adult Katsuki cares and is devoted to Izuku? It'd be so intense omfg this shit will haunt me for years.

I would like to attribute the discussion about Ochako's pressure collar to whether it resembles Izuku's or Iida's mask. And it's just that I couldn't see the similarity in either of them. Until I remembered that Bakugou, Shoto and Izuku have this modification of their costumes where they have references to their mentor heroes, those who made them better as heroes.

In Shoto's case, it's Endeavor (and I mean just Endeavor the hero, not Enji the father)

Bakugou would be with BestJeanist and Edgeshot

and Izuku would be with, obviously All Might, and Gran Torino

And that got me thinking that Ochako might have been like that with Gunhead. Rather than the gloves being a reference to his prototype, I think it makes more sense, to me, that it's because of Gunhead. A Hero who helped her with what she lacked and needed to work on at the time, which was hand-to-hand combat.

Given how the series has ended, I’m gonna be honest about my thoughts on DFO. Specifically, what take on DFO I like and why I like it.

I love the DFO interpretations where AFO genuinely and truly loves Inko and Izuku with all his heart and would do terrible things for them. This is because I feel like Izuku, and Inko to some extent, have been screwed over and unfairly bashed both in-universe and out. Their world’s society and culture absolutely FAILED them and the way fans shit on them for being kind characters working through their flaws is honestly so gross to me. So I feel like having a husband and father who absolutely adores them, sees past these shortcomings, and recognizes their worth is oddly comforting and cathartic to me.

As someone once said “A hero would sacrifice you for the world, a villain would sacrifice the world for you”, and that level of devotion and love is just one of those things that even if it’s unhealthy or not necessarily morally right, it just appeals to me so damn much.

Not only that, but I feel like the concept of an AFO who really does love his family holds a mirror to the kind of culture that permeates the society the Midoriyas live in. If someone practically revered and upheld as a role model, like Endeavour, is an abhorrent man to the people he should’ve loved and protected while someone who’s the fucking Symbol of Evil adores them to no end…what does that say about Hero Society and the culture it’s bred and kept alive? What kind of culture would consider an abusive and controlling patriarch as someone to look up to? What would drive someone to go off the deep end to the point that they obsessively cling on to the few people who gave them positive attention while not batting an eye at condemning everyone else?

All in all I like the “DFO who really does love Inko and Izuku” take because it feels like a fresh air towards the mistreatment of two characters who don’t deserve it (at least I don’t think they do) and because I feel it fits in with the themes that BNHA has…or at least seemed to have until the ending where the status quo remained…

Then again, this is just my opinion, so maybe I’m wrong. But I will stand by it.

A minor gripe in the general ugh-ness of the whole ending but the throwaway line about Class A not really meeting up and growing apart over time is pissing me off. Like yes it's realistic, people grow apart after high school. But this is a SHONEN MANGA. For 400+ chapters The Power of Friendship™ has been a driving force in the narrative and now plans can't even make it out of the group chat? C'mon man.

so… the last mha chapter is almost here, so i thought i’d share my predictions, or what i want happen.

so hear me out.

katsuki finds izuku just sitting outside by himself, sitting on the grass looking nowhere. katsuki asks him what he’s doing. i don’t really know what izuku would say back, but katsuki joins him on the ground and sits next to him. they sit in silence, and katsuki looks over at izuku and observes him before asking, “are you ok?” and izuku says something like “yeah ofc i am” but katsuki tells him to say his real feelings, which results in izuku opening up to him. izuku cries and tells katsuki about how he failed to save tenko, how he feels responsible for katsuki’s death, and feels like he should’ve tried harder to save them. and katsuki listens, reassuring izuku that katsuki is fine, and that izuku did all he could to help tenko. katsuki holds izuku as he cries, and eventually, izuku stops crying. they sit in silence for a little bit longer before katsuki gets up and stands in front of izuku and katsuki reaches out his hand to help izuku up. and izuku takes it.
