The tags/scenario revolving inside my head while I worked on this:

Enemies to Lovers, Persistent!Izuku, Soft!Tenko), Secret Relationship, Very much in love Shigadeku who are also very aware that they're on a time limit, a lot of internal conflicts ofc but they rly don't want to let go unless something big changes -> then things escalate bc screw you AFO -> Tenko makes a big decision that could affect everything and sneaks into Izuku's room [bc he's been doing that for months now. Dont ask how]for one last time to see his love before sht hits the fan just in case -> crying. Lots of crying. Angst city ------->action intensifies---------> HAPPY ENDING. I won't accept anything else. I may have imagined this with Romeo and Juliet vibes but I'm having none of that tragedy part bs.

Background tag: Concerned!classmates, dadmight and dadzawa. They know something's been up with Izuku for a long time now but couldn't say anything bc of how happy he looked despite the stress that has accumulated along side it. Concerned!LoV and Suspicious!AFO. The whole shebang

The house wasn't bad, his room was smaller, but only a little and Izuku wasn't very demanding.

The possibility of hanging some posters of All Might, of some hero and some manga character and he was happy.

He sat on the floor of his new room, his shoulders hunched and his gaze fixed on the laptop screen in front of him. The room was almost empty, with only a mattress in the corner.

For now, the white, bare walls towered over him, amplifying his strong sense of loneliness, he shivered, wishing he already had a way to hang his colorful posters.

"A new beginning," she had said with a forced smile, but for Izuku, it seemed more like the end... there was something suffocating about the idea that in the next year - and perhaps forever - he would never see Kacchan again.

At least, he wouldn't see him in person.

He rested his head against the wall, savoring the cold against his dark green curls.

He wanted to pinch his cheeks, in fact, pinch them until they were all red and the undeniable truth had penetrated his head, deep down. That it. Was. Better. This way.

Seeing Kacchan through a screen with miles separating them was the best possible way to see him, to revel in that... thing, that thing that made him shine so much, that made him magnificent. A kind of luminous myth that masked the rest.

He clicked on another webpage, his eyes scanning avidly the information on U.A. High School - Yuuei. The school of his dreams, the place where he should have been at that moment if only... if only he wasn't a useless quirkless.
