Occupation: Magic Knight of the Celestial Serpents or the Aqua deers, and later goes to serve in the medical ward.  (Depending on Universe)

Sex, Gender Identity, and Sexuality: AFAB, Female (She/her strictly), and Straight (male-aligning people)

Voice Claim: [English Dub]  Raven  (From Teen Titans Go) // [Jap. Sub] Kyoka Jirou (From BNHA)

Mary’s grimoire has a build that looks like a normal-sized book. Her cover has a base that is as white as snow, and is decorated on the edges with grey calendulas, and has a 3-leaf clover in the center of it.

Personality

Mary is a very stubborn, stoic, and seemingly indifferent person. She stands her ground on what she thinks is right and doesn’t socialize much due to being raised only to be powerful. She has a fiery passion (although she has a snow and ice affinity); but doesn’t show it to mostly anyone. She seems very unapproachable and probably is. However; once you get to know her, she starts opening up and becoming very comfortable with you and she is a great person. 

Likes: Mary doesn’t have many likes other than training at first. But later, she begins developing a higher interest in medicine and healing. She also likes music to a fault. 

Dislikes: She dislikes ignorance. Doubting someone for a certain trait they have, bigotry based on someone's orientation and/or looks, or being overconfident makes Mary want to hurl. 

Appearance

Long, white hair that Mary usually heeps in a very simple but elegant bun.

Weight: 140 lbs

Height: 169.9 cm (5'6)

She has an hourglass figure, mainly due to being raised “perfect”.

Ruby-red eyes that shimmer in the sunlight. She has more of a pigmented skin tone compared to Giana, but her nose gets red very easily – just like her younger sister. 

Underneath her Aqua Deers (Or Celestial Serpents) robe, Mary wears a sleeveless, white top and a high-rise skirt (Which is black but has light, sky-blue accents on it.)

Modifications to her Body: Just like Giana, Mary has a septum piercing but takes it in and out (Usually she puts it back in at night and wears it on her off days). 

Skills

Marry is stubborn, adamant, and has a shit ton of integrity. She’s often considered as a Straight Man in any group; since she gets irritated quite easily. She’s stoic and cool-headed in the battle zone though, which helps her almost always make rational decisions and stay calm. It takes a while, but when she finally trusts in her comrades – she’s unstoppable. 

Background

Mary Silverstone is the eldest daughter of the main Silverstone Family. She shares the same mother, father, and cousins as Giana, but her story is different. 

Mary was close with Giana, even though she was older, she saw Giana as a twin sister and her closest, best friend. Mary was born with Ice magic (Which also doubled as a snow attribute), and her parents were proud of it. Mary trained day in and out to live up to her parents’ expectations, and was on the brink of earning it. Every Silverstone receives a mark on their face when they come of age. The mark signifies that one is a silverstone, and is considered an award for living up to expectations. Mary wanted it, she wanted more than anything in the world to be worthy of the mark.

When Everyone found out about Giana’s magic, everything changed. Mary was stripped of her little sister and left with no one to play with or be close to. Mary’s bond was broken, but she wouldn’t dare to resist or fight back. If she fought for her sister, who had been rumored to now be the devil, she knew she wouldn’t be worthy of the mark. She wouldn’t be treated kindly, she wouldn’t be everything she ever wanted to be. Worst of all, everything she had worked for would have been for naught. 

And so Mary abided, staying indifferent to the world and its cruelties. She didn’t really know what she expected of herself anymore – so she drowned herself in work and training. She hated herself for leaving her sister like how she did, but she also refused to do anything. She swallowed her guilt. She bottled it up with all her emotions and lived how her parents said she should.

Then came Royal Knight exams – and she was faced with Giana’s team. 

Mary had an outburst. Her resentment for herself turned into jealousy for everything Giana had built for herself. Mary was supposed to be the one being valued. She was the one who had worked so hard – throwing her life away for success. Mary was the one who needed friends. Mary was the one who needed support, now – She was the one who yearned for a life. Giana got it all without anyone ever knowing. How was this fair? Mary spent years hurting herself and drawing herself in work. How was it that someone who didn’t do that could so easily be on par with her – and worse, how could they win?

When things were over, Mary didn’t know what to do. Even though Giana had won, she was wounded badly. But she still walked over to talk to her older sister. Mary visited her later in the infirmary, and they talked. She apologized and vowed to fix things. She swore that she would protect her sister and change the way she lived. On her way out, Mary met Magna – someone who Giana considered her Older Brother.

Mary declared a rivalry, her only way of earning her title of “big sister” back, and Magna accepted. Though, somewhere along the way… well, you’ll see. 

(P.S. After Mary starts her redemption arc, she finds herself taking a bigger interest in healing!)

Spells

offensive spells -

Ice Magic: Cold Daggers of Death

These daggers are fast, sharp, and precise. They can cut through even the thickest of steel and can penetrate skin easily. Once they do, they drain the heat and freeze over whatever/whoever they impale. Mary can control how bad the temperature situation gets, though. 

Ice Magic: Protector(s) of the Lost

In which Mary creates either a dozen medium-sized knights made of ice to protect and defend, or a giant Ice monster that can do the same things except it’s bigger, bulkier, and has enhanced stats. Each of these Ice men responds to only Mary’s orders and instructions. if one has her direct magic channeled into it, she can use it to communicate and channel her thoughts into. 

Ice Magic: Infecting Fractals

This is a tricky, wide-range spell. Mary blasts special snowflakes dowards her opponents in a wide range, and whatever they touch they freeze with Icicles on command. This can be a long-term spell or a super fast one. Mary can control whether or not the fractals can spread. 

defensive spells - 

Ice Magic: Snowstorm

This spell is similar to an incomplete mana Zone, where Mary can create a swirling snowstorm to do multiple things. This spell can be used for cover when being attacked, an illusion when needing a getaway, or just simply to spread Mary’s Mana around to confuse the enemy and use her offensive spells for larger ranges. This also later evolves into a spell she uses to heal others. 

healing spell -

Ice Magic: Snowstorm – Healing Method

This spell is an evolved version of Mary’s “Snowstorm” defense spell. It holds all the same attributes, but it can also heal and boost the stats of whoever is inside of it. 

Ice Magic: Chilling Regeneration

This is a close-up spell Mary uses to heal one or two patients who are close to death. She puts her hands hovering over them and uses this spell to boost regeneration and healing, and adds a coolling touch to it despite the fiery battle mood.

well all right then. I owe some explanations and some updates, so let's just get straight to that.

1. "what the hell, makeste. you can't just disappear for nine months and leave a sign on your blog that says "gone leavin'.'"

yeah I know. sorry guys.

so there are a lot of reasons for my long absence, but when you boil it all down, the essence is basically as follows: at its absolute max capacity, my ADHD brain is capable of keeping up with any two of the following: (1) work; (2) school; (3) tumblr. that's it. only two. no more and no less.

and for years this has not mattered at all because school was no longer in the picture! but as mentioned in my last two update posts, as of this past January, I had to start taking classes again for career advancement reasons, meaning my brain was quickly overloaded and something had to give. so yeah. I can assure you the past nine months have absolutely sucked and I am not AT ALL sure that it was worth it, but it is what it is.

I also want to add that I never intended to basically fall off the face of the earth anywhere near to this extent, let alone for this long. but in retrospect I probably should have seen it coming, seeing as this is not the first time it's happened, sob. and also in hindsight, towards the end of last year (during which I was already struggling to keep up with the weekly BnHA reactions) someone mentioned that it sounded like I was showing signs of being potentially close to burnout. turns out that observation was spot on lol.

so yeah. tl;dr, burnout + an obnoxiously busy real life schedule + a sprinkling of good old-fashioned ADHD "somehow I always underestimate how hard it is to restart something after taking a long break from it, and the longer I go without returning the worse it gets" brain shenanigans (more on that last part further down).

yes I have unfortunately been spoiled about The Thing.

I will make a separate post to talk about The Thing! I expect that many people will want to talk about this, and tbh I've really been wanting to talk about it too! I'm telling you, when I say the past nine months have sucked, I mean they have truly SUCKED, you guys. school is so fucking boring and I miss rambling about fandom stuff so fucking much.

anyway but with that said, ~*~PLEASE DO NOT TALK ABOUT ANY SPOILERS IN THIS POST~*~. I don't want to delete anybody's comments! but I will if necessary because I am a spoiler narc and I don't want to risk accidentally ruining stuff on the off chance that a non-spoiled person comes across this post. so yeah. however please do feel free to message me or comment in my other post (which I will link once it’s up; eta: here it is) if you do want to talk about The Thing.

4. "so aside from The Thing, are you otherwise caught up with the BnHA manga currently?"

so here's the hilarious part: no, I am not caught up. not even remotely. literally the last chapter of BnHA I read was chapter 339, which is the most recent chapter that I liveblogged, all the way back on December 31, 2021. I literally have not read a single new BnHA chapter in the year of our lord 2022 lol. :') basically for the same reasons I mentioned in my previous update post. tl;dr, reading/liveblogging a single new BnHA chapter is a minimum 4+ hour commitment for me, and by this point I have accrued a backlog of... oh sweet lord. 35 total chapters lol. so yeah. that's approximately 140 hours of catch-up that I need to do, which is paralyzing just to think about.

I do still plan on catching up, obviously! I'm just not sure how, lol. I may have some time to spare this weekend, so I might try to binge a few chapters and see how it goes. then I'll have to come up with some sort of sustainable posting schedule. I've been thinking about this for a while and I might try to do a Mon/Wed/Fri thing if I can swing it, but I don't want to commit to anything for sure yet until I see how those first few chapters go. fingers crossed, though.

anyway so I guess that's it. post is getting long. anything more will just be rambling.

sorry again, guys. how is everyone? what did I miss. aside from twitter dying and tumblr welcoming the refugees into our culture by inviting them to participate in the newly created fandom of a nonexistent 1970s mafia film.

In retrospect, Amajiki brings a lot to the table on BNHA's overarching themes.

In their society, heroes are the confident smiling people who save, the civilians are the saved, and the villains are an incomprehensible evil that must be defeated.

At a surface level, Amajiki doesn't fit the hero mold because of his anxiety and lack of self-confidence. But there's more to it than that. To even consider saving heroes as a priority goes against the grain.

And in the Overhaul Arc, Amajiki's primary concern was saving Mirio, a fellow hero. It's even more impactful in that Mirio was not just some hero, but someone considered good enough to be a candidate for a future Symbol of Peace. Amajiki was also the first hero shown trying to understand villains by getting to know their origins in this arc.

Personality

Momoko is a kind, Caring, but powerful young lady. She’s a bit on the rougher side, though, and she tends to knock sense into her allies using force. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t care; she loves her friends. Momoko will jump in front of a train for any of her closest friends, and she’ll never regret it. 

Likes: Spending time with her friends, and learning about medicinal herbs. She also enjoys reading. 

Dislikes: Inconsistency and bright colors. They’re both very random things but she doesn’t have many things to hate or dislike outwardly. Oh, and she also hates pork.

Appearance

Momoko changes her outfits multiple times during the series – Due to being a part of the Akatsuki and a leaf shinobi, plus having a time skip outfit. 

Light blonde hair, (A pigment between Naruto’s and Tsunade’s hair color) but with a streak of Rosy red in her right bang. 

Weight: 140 lbs

Height: 157 - 167.8 cm (5'2-5’6, grows)

She has a slimmer build but is still slightly curvy. She builds muscle over time. 

Lavender purple eyes that glow in the moonlight and shimmer in starlight. She’s decently tan, due to training in the hot sun. 

Her outfits are hard to describe due to there being so many, but she does go from wearing the Sound Village headband to not wearing one at all. She joins the Akatsuki and wears the robe shortly, but then returns to the Leaf village and wears the Leaf headband from then on. 

Modifications to her Body: Momoko has a tattoo on her that helps her with the Chakra-draining attribute in the Jutsu that was passed down by her family. It isn’t visible for most of the time, but much like the Byakago seal, it forms on her when she uses it. 

Skills

Momoko is swift and agile. She has the preciseness and ability to unleash her strength only when she needs it and no later. Her endurance and stamina built up an incredible amount over time; which also helps her push through and reserve her incredible amount of chakra. 

Background

Momoko Rurizawa was born in the Hidden Mist – or in other words, the Bloody Mist Village. She grew up with her mother and father, and although they weren’t wealthy; they still lived happily.

Until her Mother was Killed. 

Momoko’s mother, Makio, had seemingly owed debts to Gatou, a local tyrant and delinquent. When she was unable to pay everything back, he promised to kill her whole family. Mamoko’s Mother was slaughtered gruesomely after being taken advantage of – but Momoko was able to flee with her father. 

Around the time they got out of the Mist, was around the time a new village had been established – The Hidden Sound. Momoko’s father, Hiroshi, had been offered a job there, and so they stayed. Orochimaru was still in the village at this time, and his eyes fell on Momoko, fully aware of the amount of Chakra she possessed. 

Momoko grew up with only her father for years, trying to learn about her Chakra and Abilities in secret. No one around her understood, and she didn’t count on them to understand either. Hiroshi was starting to grow weary of Orochimaru – but continued doing his dirty work. Momoko never knew who Orochimaru was, she just knew his name, and that Hiroshi worked for him. 

Of course, even this time, Momoko’s sense of reality had to break one day. 

Hiroshi finally figures out what’s going on with Orochimaru, and he retaliates. He stops doing his boss’s dirty tasks, and that infuriates Orochimaru. After much fighting, Hiroshi dies. Yet again, Momoko is forced to run to escape, and she makes it to the outer parts of the Land of Rice Paddies. She gets taken in by an older woman for a while, and after a year or two – she returns to the village (By now, Orochimaru is gone). 

She enters the Chuunin exams as a shinobi of the Sound, and her team consists of two other teammates – a girl and a guy – who seem to have a distaste for her. 

Jutsu

Personal Jutsu-

Ninja Art – The Staff of Souls

Momoko has a special Bo staff known as a Chakra weapon (A concept from a personal Naruto project I’m working on) that allows her to imbue someone's Chakra into it. She uses this for any of her general attacks, and It really comes in handy for offense. This also works like a summoning jutsu, she can essentially summon the staff to her as long as she has her scroll. 

Summoning Jutsu 

As referenced above, this one is pretty simple. Momoko can summon her staff to her but only if she has her summoning scroll. She only discovers this after she almost looses her staff in the Forest of Death. 

Kekei Genkai / Family Jutsu? -

Ninja Art – Chakushou 

A chakra barrier that occurs from using her own chakra, and the chakra that is sealed inside of her staff. To keep the domain going, Chakushou drains the opponents Chakra and uses it to keep refueling itself. (Think of a Mana Zone or Domain Expansion)

As referenced above, this one is pretty simple. Momoko can summon her staff to her but only if she has her summoning scroll. She only discovers this after she almost loses her staff in the Forest of Death. 

Shadow Clone Jutsu

Momoko Learns this forbidden Jutsu from Naruto after the chuunin exams – Before she leaves with Sasuke. 

Clone Jutsu

The generic clone Jutsu that anyone can use to make illusions of themselves. 

Water Whip Jutsu

This is a personal one that I (The OC Creator) made up, but It is in no way a personal Jutsu that Momoko Owns. This is solely based on her Water chakra nature, which she can use to manipulate nearby water into a whip or other forms later on in the series. 

Clone Jutsu

As per the title – The usual CLone jutsu that is typically used as an illusion or evasion tactic. Not like the shadow clone Jutsu. (Every Genin must learn this and perfect it so obviously she knows it). 

Substitution Jutsu

Also a Jutsu used a lot in the show – An evasion tactic in which the user substitutes their body for an inanimate object. 

Transformation Jutsu

In which the user can transform their looks and voice into someone (or something) else’s – but obviously, cannot copy a Kekei Genkai or a special Jutsu. 

Unnamed or WIP Jutsu - 

-> A sealing jutsu in which Momoko can trap her opponents inside her staff

-> A special COmbo Jutsu she uses with Sasuke ( OR Naruto)

Chakra Items (If any) - 

-> The Staff of souls! Also known as her Bo staff.

Uhhh au where Merlin glamours aithusa in to a big white dog that he just has now.
