Propaganda below the cut! (Note: there are "massive" spoilers for the Caligula Effect 2!)
Bluffman
He is an actual single Father who is doing everything he does out of love for his beautiful daughter, who he refuses to have a proper conversation with. He is canonically autistic. He is an Epic Divorce Man. He commits plagiarism in order to catfish his twink coworker. There is something so wrong with him (affectionate) and his theme music goes so hard.
Where do I start with him. He’s an (accidentally) absentee dad trying to make it up to his daughter. He learns that she likes Vocaloid and comes up with the grand idea to hijack a virtual reality to make her a “Vocaloid” goddess. This plan involves him breaking into a composer’s house to steal their work and impersonate them btw. He sees nothing wrong with this because it’s in the name of familial love. As for his daughter, she initially goes along with it but gets overwhelmed by her followers. He does not compute her worries because this stunt should guarantee her happiness, right? (They don’t know how to communicate.) Finally, a coworker is led on by Bluffman’s impersonation of his favorite artist, making heart-eyes at him while the dilf is oblivious. This ends up backfiring massively as Bluffman gets stabbed to death by the coworker when realizing he’s been lied to. Love wins 💖 (Ultimately the appeal is of Bluffman is him having good intents but going about it in the most ridiculous and single-minded way without fathoming how this will affect other people.)
The Foe/Duffoure
Leader of an occult mob that trades in stolen lifespans. He's hunting down his kid because they stole 77 years from him. You (playing as his kid) can ascend to immortality by being so pissed at him that you fight forever.

The Caligula Effect 2 Spoilers under the cut
Thinking about how’d Sayoko react if Koichiro died in Redo (from the stabbing) and reality.
She’s probably realize he was in Redo from the duration of his coma. Knowing that even if they didn’t talk with one another, he had heard her music. Wondering if she had greeted him when he first arrived in that virtual world.
(Essentially reflecting on the faint connection he must’ve had to her.)
From her bio, she isn’t very interested in her father, but I’d think she’d at least be curious about how they had crossed paths.
(God forbid she ever finds out.)

Sometimes you develop a really cursed speculative headcanon about a video game you like but you're unsure if you should even share it lest you upset the half dozen people who exist in the same fandom...
But anyway, we know a few things about Caligula 2:
The Vocaloid Artists hired for the game were sometimes told more about the characters they were assigned to write for than even gets divulged in-game.
Obbligato Musician Kudan has big plans for manipulating the Metaverse-es to affect the collective consciousness of the real world
The MV for her song Miss Conductor has a prominent visual motif of sun-rays (ala perhaps a certain rising sun flag) and what is unmistakably an iron cross
She quotes Hitler at one point (from his portrayal in a classic visual novel, fitting in with her other video game references, but still).
So like, the inevitable conclusion is that Kudan's a fascist and she's really burying the lede about her Father's political party, right? Some real "They ruined my father's political career just because he wants to deport all those queers, and I have a stutter" "What was that last bit?" "I have a stutter? In real life?" type shit.
Remember how Bluffman ostensibly plans to allow Kudan to do what she wants to reality, but then dunks her in data-goo out of nowhere, betraying her trust out of left field?
What if that isn't a case of Bluffman's recurring total incompetence, bumping off the literal only Obbligato Musician putting in nearly as much effort as the Ostinato crew?
What if it's actually a case of Bluffman's recurring legendarily poor communication skills, and he's actually removing the populist nationalist from play right before she's about to do shit to the real world?
Without explaining himself, as always.

Aww well kind of a shame they don't fight machina and #qp but it was nice that they joined as well. Also nice to hear machina talk like a person and not a robot
#still would've liked to see more from qp at the end but oh well at least she still had prescence in the story before this#only mu kun is left. weird that they kept him of all people for the final musician before bluffman

What I meant to do spring break: watch more Ryuki and Magiranger, maybe even finish one of them
What I actually did over spring break: put like 20+ hours into The Caligula Effect 2
#the rose talks#i beat doktor kranke and kudan!#just bluffman left but still have sidequests to do#'why not play it and watch toku at the same time' i can only do that if im like grinding or doing sidequests as opposed to main story stuff#and when it comes to shows w/o english audio i prefer paying as much attention as i can esp if im watching for the first time#i have like 55+ hours in ce2 now

The King of All Cosmos
the dudes like 3 times bigger than the earth itself. literally turns balls of junk his 6 cm tall son rolls for him into actual stars. pretty much god himself. probably has a kill count in the millions. extremely flashy style of dress his outfit changes LITERALLY every game. fragilest ego known to man... someone's mom said he and her kid's principal were equally as cool and he immediately lost all hope in life. pros is that hes a flashy giant dude cons is that hes mean to his and also royalty.

Ok so now given the events of Gundam: Witch from Mercury, episode 14. I can unequivocally say that Prospera is not a char clone, and she is instead a Bluffman clone.
these three are just the same character.
(left to right: Bluffman from Caligula 2, Iron Mask from Soul Hackers 2 and Prospera from Gwitch)

And thus we come to the final confrontation with Bluffman and Regret. Aderyn fights a mirror to herself - someone holding up the world, without a say in it herself, and we see the light of the way home.
The end of our second ever lets play-y thing! Though we didn't really get into it because our thoughts were a bit of a mess, so I cut it down for time, I'd say we enjoyed this much more than SMTV. And still, this game's story stands alongside Persona, even if its gameplay QOL has some... lack-thereof.
Also I originally did this piece intending it as a thumbnail for the final episode, but I wasn't that happy with it in the end. I might try touching it up another time, just to be its own thing.
