still so pissed off about that post from last night “anti-voting fandom” “these scammers taking advantage of well-meaning people” “israel-hamas war” “Biden is a good man who deserves a second term” I hope you lose internet access for the rest of your life

I still maintain that if every single votescolder/bluenomatterwho/"well I don't like it, but if we don't vote for Harris, trump will win" person organized and campaigned for a third party candidate it would make a meaningful difference to the election, and help destroy the myth of the two party system
Like it seems like that's the majority of dem voters at this point, maybe do something about it

Just saw a post from a bluenomatterwho liberal that called biden's support for is*rael a "culture war issue." putting the term culture war up on a shelf now.

fascinating phenomenon of liberals taking any critique or even unseemly information about biden or, now, harris as not only disencouraging voting but fully a russian psyop. they cannot comprehend that people could simultaneously not want trump to get elected in november AND want themself and others to be educated on who they're really voting for. posts discussing harris's israel policy must be russian psyops because no true american who really hated fascism would ever critique a political leader, regardless of their voting intentions. and if you make a frustrated post on your personal blog about said political leader's policies? well you are actually a fascist; why didn't you post a solution instead?
remaining in uncritical lockstep with the DNC is, to these people, far more important than actually advocating for any political position, especially controversial ones outside of the american overton window. those have to wait until after the election. but wait--once the election is over, we have to campaign for the midterms, you can't slander politicians yet! #bluenomatterwho, remember? it's a good thing we've made so much progress and 100,000+ palestinians aren't dead by the hands of a democratic president.

the thing i can't understand. well actually there are many things i can't understand. but this particular thing, where people go 'if you're an american taxpayer you're already complicit in genocide' as a bluenomatterwho gotcha without any sense of disillusionment. introspection. thought activity in the brain region. well i just don't get it

This person in my mentions drinking his BlueNoMatterWho Koolaid.
Boy am I popular today. And because I shit on the party that, In theory should support my ideals because they are "Left" except they aren't . They are socialist authoritarians. I'm a left libertarian. I'm for less power in the federal gov, and I'm for no new wars or proxy wars. No. The Democrats do not represent me. And only a FEW Reps actually stand around where I do on the libertarian scale. Dude, if you want your socialist/communist utopia move to China or Venezuela. I hear the genocide of the Uyghurs is very colorful this year.

you can say literally anything anti-capitalist and then the MFs on twitter with #StillWithHer #BlueNoMatterWho in their bio will pounce on it to act as if what you want is so radical and extreme (like it can literally just be democratic socialism and not even anything like anarchism or whatever) and actually all you need to do is just vote instead and maybe have discussions with the literal fascists in the Republican Party instead of treating them like fascists. Btw they freaking LOVE science too.

I know this sounds unsympathetic, and I am very sorry for that. I have no place as a white, able-bodied person to tell anyone outside of those categories how to feel, and at its core I promise I have no intention to.
I am aware that Biden isn't a good person. I am aware that Harris isn't a good person either. I am never going to talk over anyone who has been affected by them, because I have not been, and I have no intention of denying or invalidating anyone's suffering. Lord knows I can't; the song of the world despairing is inescapable.
But please, please, please hear me out.
Biden will not be AS bad as Tr*mp. That's what we have to hope for, anyhow.
Think about the pros, even though there doesn't feel like there's all that many:
1. Biden is running on the Democratic ticket, which will give some power back to the Left. Biden will also more likely than not actually follow the rules of being President, instead of foregoing vetoes, convening with the enemy, and cutting further ties with the UN.
None of this is to say that he's not still a bad person. But now consider this:
2. No president really has been good. Even Obama, whom some people have dubbed as the best president, did some pretty terrible things. I don't really believe that an American president CAN be wholly good; no kind of person who wants to treat everyone equally also wants to be above everyone else.
3. Also please take into account the way you, as an individual, see the world. People are appropriately cynical, but -- as petty as this sounds -- I feel like cancel culture plays a big role in how we judge the world. Celebrities and governors are almost indistinguishable at this point, in terms of the influence they have over our beliefs and opinions; and when cancel culture came around, it really has become, to paraphrase from Natalie Wynn, a cultural pseudo-Reign of Terror phenomenon. Canceling isn't about making people face their wrongdoings, and it isn't helpful in disenfranchising people who don't *want* to learn from their mistakes. All it does is say, "We need to pick apart this person until all we see is the bad in them".
This isn't to say that Biden, Harris, or any other politician don't deserve to have their actions scrutinized for their intentions; but on a grander scale, it really should be put on-hold during Election Season. One thing that cannot be denied is that lately, the Left can't decide on ANYONE to like. I would bet money that some people would rip even Bernie to shreds, if he ended up on the ticket.
There are no rich saints. I'm sorry that that's the reality.
I hope I've made a point at least somewhat. The bottom line is: please vote for Biden. He's not good, but things can't pull a 180 overnight, and we can't let things get any worse than they are. If Tr*mp is elected again, God forbid, we're going to be plunged into Neo-Nazi Hell -- and there is no America offshore who's going to swoop in and save us.
Please. For the love of God.
