Five years has gone by since Aquaman was unfortunately bitchslapped by the momma whale for defending her calves, one being adopted baby mer.

And the sighting of the little merman continued throughout the world, as media caught wind breeze of little white-haired mer baby playing with dolphins passing by a Cruise ship.

Arguments had started over the lone mer baby across the continents, between capturing and captivity the merbaby, letting the merbaby be, or protecting the merbaby from poachers and collectors that was suggested by PETA.

Aquaman has already discussed on behalf of the Sea and Justice League that it was best for the merbaby to be left alone for it is last of its kind to appear in thousands of years in Altanta after the Momma whale crashed sixth would be poachers and endangered species ships.

Pictures, description, and documentary began of the last merbaby journey. A new video was sent live every few weeks as sea creature biologists team and their swimmers who trail behind momma whale and her calves.

Momma whales, leaving her calves for their own harsh journey in the deep blue sea, the once tiny merbaby was the size a double wide life boat.

The once beautiful trails of sparkling white and neon green color, fade gray, and black tips mer tailwind was now deep black with green and blue bioluminescence lighting all over his tail trailing from the faded jellyfish scars, His skin was once pale is now dark tanned color. His white as a pearl hair was measured by a picture frame to be the length of 12 inches with clownfishes swimming in and out every once a as a symbiote reaction, eyes glowing darker then a neon green light and teeth sharper then a great white shark.

It was a simple Tuesday of the Justice League watching the latest video of was now known to the world nicknamed the adolescent mer, phantoms the merman day.

Phantom kept dipping into the deep dark trenches of the deep blue sea rather frequently, but for the five years now, it was normal interest of curiosity that he just like to go there.

One massive mer with white hair that resemble a great whale shark or what could've been a megalodon swam slowly watching the others who there was female sea horse like mer with black hair and purple and green like patterns trail behind along side a silky like dark skinned shark mer with Egyptian like pattern and old gold relic tied in his hair, massive large orange haired humaniod jellyfish like mer the size of a sperms whale swam, as Phantom was hugging, swimming around excitedly and trilling bubbles onto a tiny little new merbaby with white hair with similar patterns as him except with a red scarf like tied to her little wrist.

DC x DP: An Atlantean death cult summons Danny to usher in the end of the world. The biggest obstacle to this is that Danny doesn't speak Atlantean and as such has no idea what these weird fish people want.

Danny tried not to groan as he stared at the other cultists who wanted him to... do something. Probably evil, but how would he know?

He couldn't understand Atlantean, after all.

But it definitely looked evil, with the wounded dolphin in the middle of the circle with its blood dispersing into the water.

Danny gave a silent prayer, hoping that Cujo could perhaps guide it towards a better afterlife.

Danny sighed, rocking from side to side as he looked down at himself, where his legs had merged together into an orca tail.

At least he was badass as hell while he was summoned as a merman.

He watched blandly as the cultists continued to dance and chant, trying to do something with their ritual that he couldn't understand. He didn't want to rain on their parade, but while he couldn't understand them, it just looked several times more ridiculous.

One of them swam forward to present to him a closed cup full of an unknown thing and Danny just stared at it before turning away.

There were some cries of shock and despair.

Danny looked around for a way to escape, but he would feel bad if he left and these cultists wrecked havoc within the ocean, so he stayed there, watching the reeds move in the water.

Out of the blue, the underwater temple that Danny was in suddenly rocked. A whale crashed into the side of the place and shook the entire ground, causing screams to erupt from the cultists. Danny gave a sigh of relief as he saw a crowd of people swim inside and attack the cultists.

It was finished up rather quickly, as Danny bent down to smudge the rune markings keeping him in the circle.

He looked at the various crowd of people, some of whom he recognized were part of a hero group called the Justice League in this world. In front of them was a blonde man in orange and green, who was staring at him in horror and shock.

Danny gave a reassuring smile and waved goodbye.

"Thanks for taking care of them! See you never! Bye!"

And then he was gone.

Dark! Male Ariel x Reader

"What are you?" you ask the beautiful creature as he swims by your fishing boat.

At first, you thought he was a human like you, but when you caught sight of his tail, all you felt is shock.

"I'm a merman and my name is Ariel, what's your name?"

Ariel asks, placing his hands on top of each other on the upper edge of your boat, before placing chin on top of them.

"I'm..." You tell him your name, still in disbelief by the whole thing.

"I have been watching you for months now, I see you come here and harm fish."

"I'm sorry," you manage to stammer out.

You are a fisherwoman, but knowing how Merfolk creatures are close with the sea life, you didn't want to look bad.

"I didn't realize I was harming fish, I only thought of feeding my family."

Ariel smiles warmly, his eyes sparkling with mischief.

"It's okay, I don't bite. Well, not unless I'm provoked anyway." he chuckles, a melodic sound that seems to enchant you.

"What is your world like, under the sea?" you ask, curiosity peeking.

Ariel's face lights up at the question.

"Oh, it's a whole different realm down there, vibrant coral reefs, ancient shipwrecks and the music! The whales and dolphins, their songs echoing through the vast blue expanse."

He leans closer, his eyes wide with excitement.

"Would you like to see it? I could take you on a tour, show you the hidden wonders that few humans ever get to experience."

You begin to get nervous at his insistent attitude.

"I don't think I would be able to breath underwater for long."

Ariel laughs, as if you told him a funny joke.

"I know someone who could turn you into a mermaid." Ariel states.

"I don't want to be a mermaid."

The red haired merman smiles before grabbing into the upper edge of the boat tightly.

"You don't have a choice in that, silly."

With that, Ariel begins shaking the boat roughly, causing it to flip over, making you end up in the water.

You try to swim away quickly, but the prince was able to grab you and pull you deeper into the sea.

I'm requesting a Mermaid AU with Luffy accidentally courting his Darling by giving them seashells! It can be a concept or a scenario :)

Honestly, this is just an excuse for me to ramble about merman Luffy because I find Luffy adorable :(

This AU is still being tweaked. I'm not sure what characters should stay human or who should be merpeople. So since this is me just throwing around cute ideas, this may change in the future.

There's just so many thoughts... Shanks being a one armed merman... whale Kaido I want to explore... Nami and Sanji are probably sirens while Zoro is a shark or something (Swordfish...?). Then there's the ASL trio I can explore... all pretty colors (Yellow/Blue, Orange, Red) I can definitely explore this in the future >:)

Yandere! Merman! Luffy accidentally courting his obsession

I always imagine Luffy struggles with romance.

Normal Luffy, AU Luffy, just... Luffy.

He hasn't had any experience with romantic attraction.

Even less so in this AU.

Luffy was never taught merfolk courting.

The brothers he did have left for their own pods, leaving Luffy to explore.

Granted, he eventually found his own little group after encountering Shanks at a young age.

But, again, he doesn't understand courting.

Even when he sees Sanji try to give Nami or Robin shells, or even flirt with humans...

Luffy is clueless, too focused on exploring to care.

I imagine Luffy just thinks giving shells to someone he likes is what friends would do.

He really is a platonic yandere until influenced.

So imagine if Luffy has a human obsession, who either doesn't understand courting or is just researching merfolk and sirens, and mimics what Sanji's doing.

He'd do it for a long time, too.

Luffy, being the curious merman he is, usually picks up all sorts of trinkets to give you.

Gold coins, shells, lost items, so many different items.

You find it amusing, he looks so excited when he gives you these items.

Luffy feels this is right... He feels so excited and warm when he sees you!

His group is usually on stand by, watching carefully as Luffy interacts with his 'human friend'.

It would be even more interesting if you live on a research vessel to learn more about Luffy's species.

To other merfolk, it looks like Luffy is courting you.

Sanji often grumbles about it, muttering how courting humans is what he does.

But, again, Luffy doesn't understand this.

He thinks he's just excited when he's around you.

You make him feel warm, like he wants to be closer to you.

He'd be oblivious until one of two things happens.

Sanji brings it up, accusing Luffy of courting a human...

That or you, a researcher, brings it up and asks if he's trying to court you.

Regardless of the source, Luffy is stunned by such a statement.

Courting...?

Does that mean... He wants you as a mate...?

The thought is a strange one to Luffy.

He had no idea giving you gifts means he wishes to court you.

Then again... He always looks forward to seeing you.

He gets protective about you since you can't handle yourself as much as he can...

That and he does enjoy your touch when he takes you swimming....

... is that what courting means?

He isn't familiar with mates... He knows they have a special connection but he doesn't know what they do...

Well... If being mates doesn't change his feelings for you...

Then maybe you should be mates!

I like to think he isn't that flustered when he brings it up.

He's blunt, excitedly swimming up to you with his eyes sparkling.

Only to say the strangest thing from your perspective....

"We're mates!"

To him, mates are the same as being best friends based on what he's seen.

Let's be honest, Luffy wouldn't know how to actually mate unless it was explained... Even then he may not get it.

Most of his pod, while they understand it's Luffy, are baffled that he's clueless as a mature merman.

It's an awkward conversation for you to have when you try to calm Luffy down, trying to explain to him the situation.

Mate is the same as having a lover in human culture...

It goes right over his head, the merman simply cuddling you with a wide smile.

He's going to say you're mates to just about everyone you come across.

Unlike other merfolk, he doesn't flirt.

He's clingy and affectionate but has a rather innocent view on relationships.

He just knows he wants to protect you and... sometimes gets a bit anxious when you're around other merfolk or humans....

Is that normal for mates?

Do mates want their mate all to themselves?

...

The thought is foreign yet oddly pleasant to him.

Luffy would probably learn from experience.

He'd ask Sanji, Ace, or Sabo what mates do with each other.

Eventually he'll learn about kissing, which is different from the cuddles he normally does with you....

He's curious, often staring at your lips as you talk.

I wouldn't be surprised if he just leaned closer and kissed you, thinking that's what mates do.

When you turn him down, he's confused.

You didn't like it...? That's weird, he did...

You tasted nice.

This isn't really meant to be a full Merman! Luffy Concept, yet it's an idea.

Hopefully kissing is the extent of what he learns when it comes to courting.

The last thing you need is Luffy learning something new from one of his pals...

Only to have him talking about intimacy on his next visit.

Guillermo is a merman who is both drawn to the air and sun but wary of humans. There's an old story in his family about a great aunt of his who was beguiled to the surface by a handsome human, who sang her sweet songs and cajoled her into staying longer than she meant to, night after night. Until one night she found she had been away from the sea too long, and could no longer return.

Guillermo has been frightened of humans ever since he first heard the story as a wee child. But the warmth of the sun is hard to ignore for long, and one day as he's basking on the surface in his favorite hidden spot he sees a small boat coming, and hides. There in the shadow of his favorite sunning rock, he watches a man tie up his boat and leap straight into the water for a swim, rather than going ashore.

The man is beautiful, all long limbs and tan skin. He laughs aloud as he surfaces, seemingly out of the sheer joy of being alive itself. The sunlight glints off the little gold hoops in his ears, the silver streaks in his hair as he moves through the water as gracefully as any merman Guillermo has known, and Guillermo is mesmerized. He finds himself returning day after day against his better judgment just to watch this beautiful human from a distance, staying until the sun sets and the man retreats into the bow of his little ship. Guillermo watches the way he navigates into and out of the tucked away little spot effortlessly, goes about his daily tasks with a smile and a spring in his step, the way he rescues a beached starfish and speaks softly to it as he does so...the way he sits on the sand with his feet in the water sometimes, staring out at the waves and looking as lonely as Guillermo sometimes feels.

He imagines sitting beside the man and speaking to him, talking to him long after the sun has set and the golden hues of day have given way to the soft blue shadows of night...though he knows he can never take that risk.

Nandor loves the ocean. He always has. He never feels more himself than when he's at the helm of his little boat, except for maybe that moment when he plunges into the water at the end of every day. The briny green waves close over his head, blocking out the surface world, and he for a moment he feels perfect peace.

Sailing is in his blood, he never really made a choice about it. It was simply the only option that ever made sense. And he loves it. He loves the wind in his hair, he loves the lap of the waves against the boat. He even enjoys the chatter from excited tourists when he takes them out to sight dolphins and whales, the chance to meet so many different people even briefly.

He just...well, he gets lonely sometimes.

There's one place he never feels lonely, though. One place in all the world where he always feels, strangely, as if someone is near. Watching, but not in a way that gives him the creeps or makes the hair on the back of his neck stand up. No, this unseen gaze feels like the warm interest of a friend listening to you prattle on over dinner, pleased by the simple sight of you.

It's a little cove near the lip of the bay he returns to again and again, docking there instead of at the shipyard. He enjoys the quiet, the stunning view of the open ocean, the expanse of the sky...and that sensation of friendly eyes on him, a warm presence just out of sight.

Until one day he looks out at the dying embers of the setting sun, and meets a pair of dark eyes peering back at him from the shadows of the rocks that shelter his favorite little cove.

Lucifer as a blue whale merman is currently my brain.

Adam is no contact with his religious parents and his twin, Lilith ran away as a teenage because of their abusive parents. So he’s been lying to his parents to for years to get them to pay for his expenses while he’s “in college” to become a marine biologist. In reality he’s been working and saving up to buy a boat to live on.

He’s been fucked off on his boat for years now. Dives and fishes for most of his income, but does odd jobs like taking people out to the islands for research projects.

Has a friend that’s studying this one blue whale that tends to stick close to the bay. Local ledge saying he’s lived for hundreds of years.

As Adam fairies the researchers out to study the whale, he starts to notice this guy he’s seen rarely in town more and more.

Most people don’t know this strange guy in the small community, but he’s not a tourist and he’s unique looking with his nearly white skin and particularly rosy cheeks. He just shows up in town, never talks to anyone, never buys anything. Some people think he’s a ghost, others figure he’s a hermit and lives somewhere out in the forests that line the coast. He’s not dressed particularly well. More like an approximation of what people wear.

Then one day after Adam brings the researchers back in, having lost track of the whale once more. The guy is suddenly there.

He doesn’t talk but points with a curious look and Adam gets it. Adam explains they’re trying to more about the local blue whale. His age and habits, that sort of thing.

Adam figures the guy is just mute or something and that’s why he doesn’t talk to people. The guy mimics a stabbing motion and points to the researchers again. For a moment Adam is worried the guy wants to kill them but then he wiggles his hand and points to the ocean and Adam realizes he’s asking if they’re going to hurt the whale with the tracker they want to put on him.

It’s just a sucker tracker and the guy is pleased as Adam explains what that is and that’s how they see where the whale goes and what he does.

The next time Adam takes the team out, the whale doesn’t run. Rather he comes up to them and allows them to stick the tracker on.

The researchers start to notice that the whale seems to almost follow Adam at times. Adam notices it too.

Perhaps once a week. Otherwise he seems to do normal whale things. The only other oddity is that the tracker glitches at times. Putting the whale in much too shallow water or in town.

Adam starts to find he has a new friend in the town ghost hermit. He pops up and Adam nicknames him Lucifer as the guy offers no name of his own. Not so much as even pointing to something to indicate Adam can call him that.

One night, Adam notices as Lucifer is walking away that he has an odd lump on his back, under his sweater.

He’s curious about the guy and follows Lucifer. Only to watch him wade into the ocean and swim away out of sight.

Adam is worried but Lucifer shows back up a week later.

The researchers mention they’re going to try switching out the tag because it’s busted. Obviously, the whale wasn’t on the docks the night before. Or a week ago, or any of the times Adam had seen Lucifer.

He doesn’t believe in magic or mermaids anymore but Adam’s mind jumps to it anyway.

Next time he sees Lucifer he confronts him, pulling at the sweater and revealing the tracker. He’s proud of himself for being right but Lucifer runs off and he no longer sees his friend.

Adam feels guilty for upsetting his friend but Lucifer stays away until there’s a bad storm and Adam’s boat capsizes. He’s rescued by Lucifer.

He gets a chance to apologize and Lucifer takes him to shore where he transforms into the human Adam knows.

The apology seems to be acceptable as Lucifer starts coming to town again. Adam has good insurance and few expenses so he gets a new boat in a few weeks. He keeps his mouth shut about Lucifer being the whale cause he’s not stupid. No one will believe him anyway.

They continue their odd friendship until Lucifer points to a couple kissing on the docks in a way that Adam has come to understand as wanting him to explain. So he tells Lucifer it’s what couple do.

The next thing he knows his arms are full of Lucifer and he’s being kissed. Sparks fly and Lucifer spends the night in Adam’s bunk.

Adam is left reeling, he got railed by a whale and wanted more.

Their meetings are no longer platonic. And Lucifer learns to speak a bit, doesn’t really like it though.

Eventually, Adam’s parents find him. Being rescued by a whale made it into the news and eventually to his old home town.

So he does what he does best. Packs up and leaves. He docks off one of the nearby deserted islands, wades into the ocean and gets picked up by his boyfriend, the blue whale.

Adam knocks the tracker off. And figures they’ll lay low for a week until his parents give up.

Lucifer takes him to a special place though. A small hidden bay he found when he was only a calf, hundreds of years ago. Chased there by whalers, the place is usually void of life as animals don’t like the vibes of the bay. It gave him the ability to turn human. The whalers found themselves transformed as well into whales but they had less favourable fates than Lucifer.

Some were able to transform back into humans but couldn’t swim or make it to shore, too panicked to become whales. Others couldn’t figure out how to be whales and nature took its course. Still others were hunted by their fellow whalers.

He learned to eat foods from the shore. Filling his belly even though there was little krill for him in the waters. He grew up, but stopped aging. Lucifer protects the hidden bay.

Adam is transform into a blue whale like Lucifer. Lucifer teaches Adam how to swim and eat, how to talk like a whale.

Of course, Adam has grown out of his fantasy of being a mermaid and running away from all things human. He likes his life. So the two are content to meet in the middle.

Adam mainly lives his life as a human. His folks had to go back home and every now and then they show up but no one in town will let them stay there and Adam just secures his boat off an island and hangs out as a whale until they leave again.

Lucifer mainly lives as a whale. Keeping the bay hidden from humans. He joins Adam in the evenings and at night.

And they live happily ever after

And I looked at a couple whale sharks to base Jonathan’s tail on, but I just couldn’t let go of the bright blue!

Some reworks on my designs for Blue Reef Cookie and Staghorn Coral Cookie 🦪🦈⚓

Inspired by @cosmicwhoreo's designs for the Salty Sharks ^^

And some changes on their designs

Blue Reef Cookie's changes

I gave him a ponytail (idk i wanted to, got inspired by a doodle made by @wisteriaaa)

Gave him an anchor pendent

Decided to give him fins

And yes, he is Black Pearl Cookie's distant cousin

Staghorn Coral Cookie's changes

I gave them a fur jacket

decided to go for a tanktop

they have a Salty Shark pin

idk i wanted to give them a necklace too XD

BLUE REEF COOKIE LORE

Blue Reef Cookie was a merman once, until Sea Witch Cookie gave him a potion to give him the power to breath on land, and gain some legs, and he experiences the whole land part of Earthbread.

Blue Reef Cookie used to be apart of a different pirate crew in House Barnacle, where he was with a captain named Captain Fishhook Cookie, and he, and his crew is most wanted for many robbery crimes, and Blue Reef Cookie didn't want to commit these robberies, but did them anyway thanks to one of the main rules "Never decline", one day was that he was at the Vanilla Kingdom, and while they were stealing from many markets, Blue Reef Cookie met Strawberry Tart Cookie, and they became friends, that was until some security Wafflebots came to confront the crew, as well as Blue Reef Cookie, who was frustrated, and sad, because he couldn't get to talk to the princess a little more.

One night, he snuck out of House Barnacle, just to see Strawberry Tart Cookie, the talk went well, until Captain Fishhook Cookie came in a ruined the talk by taking him back to House Barnacle, just to scold him, and threaten him later on, after that, thats where Blue Reef Cookie became increasingly quiet...

Before they set sail, Blue Reef Cookie fell into the Duskgloom's waters, causing his whole appearance to change, with a smile, he swam back up, and got back out of the ship with a smile, attacking Captain Fishhook Cookie's crew, as he eliminated each and every one brutally, he got close to the captain with one thing to say...

"You have no idea what you got me into.. Captain.."

After the whole ordeal, he left House Barnacle behind, and decided to head to House Caviar, to be as the Sailor of the Salty Sharks, and an honored first mate of Captain Caviar Cookie.

When they got to the Duskgloom Sea that night, Black Pearl Cookie makes her next encounter with a random ship, after she got rid of those hollow whales, she recognize the sailor she saw in the Duskgloom waters before joining the Salty Sharks, her only thought was..

"My cousin..?"

STAGHORN CORAL COOKIE LORE

Staghorn Coral Cookie was a rebellious teen in an unspecified neighborhood, they would use sharp weapons to throw at wooden planks like a sport, which one of the neighbors were worried about, due to them getting hurt, but since Staghorn Coral Cookie was very much capable of taking care of themselves after getting slight cuts on them, and careful with knives, whether it be for sporting, or cooking, they know how to not aim it at people, they did have good skills after all.

That one night, they were cutting up some fruits for their cake, they heard a noise from the other room, and they went to investigate, they saw a robber in their house that just broke in, and they would NEVER go down without a fight, so they used their knife to fight off the robber, it took a few couple of wounds to stop the robber, until they finally got him on the ground, the robber then took the knife, and left a fresh cut on Staghorn Coral Cookie's eye, and threw it at the wall, then left.

After the incident that happened last night, Staghorn Coral Cookie woke up in their neighbor's house, who was named Lace Coral Cookie, and she patched them up, which they were grateful, then after that, they heard the news that the robber was rightfully arrested for trespassing, and attempted assault, and Lace Coral Cookie would let Staghorn Coral Cookie stay at her house for a while.

One month later...

Lace Coral Cookie, and Staghorn Coral Cookie made it to the Crème Republic, and they made a few friends, and meet Consul Clotted Cream Cookie as well, and lastly, Lace Coral Cookie, and Staghorn Coral Cookie made their way to House Caviar, to meet the almighty Captain Caviar Cookie, where they told them about the incident that happened in the neighborhood they used to live in, and how they fought back, Captain Caviar Cookie felt bad, but also proud of Staghorn Coral Cookie's bravery, so he promoted, not just them, but also Lace Coral Cookie to be apart of the Salty Sharks.

Whale shark merman

Lives in Coral Sea with his twin, his father had died of sickness while his mother died due to an over-blot. A boy in their town was thought to be a genius so great pressure was put on him as everyone thought he’d make it to night raven college and d when he didn’t make it, he snapped. Hiroshi’s mother got hit by an attack and was badly wounded. When the over-blot boy was free he died shortly after as he doesn’t have larger amounts of magic (unlike the overblotees). A doctor rushed to his mother, but he didn’t make it in time and Hiro’s mother died in his and his brother’s arms.

Octotrio: no thoughts just another dorm member, though Floyd sometimes mess with Hiro cause he finds hiro’s bodly language funny. They don’t know Hiroshi and Kiyoshi are twins (they have different last names)

Is funny and easygoing but second guesses a lot and a little paranoid (the leech twins)

Before the octotrio came, the other door members came to him and his twin for help on things when the previous house warden was busy.

mmm... merman cove is so pretty even in human form

in human form, he has scales in a few places

down the side of his hips to the top of his thighs and a few straglers on his ankles

his scales are blue and green. they're iridescent as well, super pretty

the closer to his chest, the lighter his scales are but there's still some dark ones around his hips that are more like a navy blue

his fins are probably on the greener side as well, and im thinking more translucent too

i looked at some fanart, i think his tail would be more on the "capey" side as well

in fact i'd even say the fins are like in the art! very sparkly and pretty

how do we feel abt a purple to light blue gradient?

i was thinking abt his ears too n yk how some ppl draw mermaids with fins for ears or whatever?

i think his ears are long like an elf, but the tips have a blue-to-flesh gradient. maybe even

lots of pretty piercings!! has gold and pearls in his ears.

he's like a puppy this way

you have jars of shells and sand, some sand different colors from certain beaches he's visited.

cove even brought you your own string of pearls, and you have mini towers of different colored sea glass

so many gifts that you have a whole book case for them and even then some things spill into other areas of the house

whether or not you met cove at a young age, i think you start to understand what all his different chirps and sounds mean

like a few quick chirps are a sign of happiness

i even imagine he purrs like a cat so he'll put your hand to his heart and let you feel the rumble of his chest

or he'll nuzzle your cheek and you can hear it in your ear <33
