There is a college here! On the other side of Barbie Land from where we live, it’s called Barbie Land University or BLU (some pronounce it B-L-U and some pronounce it blue. The college kids call it Barb-U.)

Anyway, if I ever go to college, I think I would either be a vet and take care of animals, especially horses, or I would be like pediatric nurse or doctor and take care of kids. I think one of those two, yeah.

Rio 2 (2014) 7.5/10

After hearing information about the existence of more Blue Spix Macaws, Blu, Jewel, their kids, Rafael, and Pedro and Nico fly to the Amazon to connect with their roots. Only, Blu is very wary of the prospect, being a domesticated bird for so long.

The plot is easy to follow, and the characters are hilarious! It picks up from the first movie, Rio, and brings back some old enemies (*cough* Nigel *cough) but along with some new friends as well. Roberto (Bruno Mars) is a charismatic, and handsome childhood friend of Jewel, much to Blu's jealousy, and Eduardo (Andy Garcia) is Jewel's overprotective but stern father, who instantly has a wariness of Blu.

The film raises awareness about forest logging and it's harmful impact on the environment, which is very upsetting to see in the movie. Regardless, it's well executed in how they portray it, how illegal logging can be but also how it harms the plants and wildlife.

The songs are great, especially 'Beautiful Creatures' by Barbatuques, a Brazilian music group, and 'What Is Love' by Janelle Monae. 'It's A Jungle Out Here' by Philip Lawrence is also very catchy and fun to listen to.

I'm not particularly a fan of the lack of awareness on the loggers' part. You'd think they'd at least write about a more elite group working to bring them down, but that's just my opinion.

The gags are funny, the humor is witty and timed so well, and most of the funniest lines come from Pedro (Will.i.am) and Nico (Jamie Foxx).

But as far as sequels go, this is another one that doesn't disappoint!

I wish I could give more reassurance to all the anxious people out there, especially the young ‘uns who’ve just voted in their first election only to see the tangerine shit-gibbon get in. Hopefully this administration will be quickly get bogged down by scandal, court cases and declining mental health.

And remember kids, one of the great pleasures of being young is living to see old cunts like him wither and die. I remember my gran, a staunch Labour supporter, saying she just wanted to live long enough to see Margaret Thatcher die (she outlived her by 8 years!) Stay alive so you can see it happen, too!
