Leonardo- Leo has to be voiced by a token white rapper so my main choice Rafael Casal. He gives straight up Rise!Leo vibes just from his scenes in Blindspotting alone even if he has no voice acting credits, his code switching feels natural and not like he’s putting on a blaccent: example

Raphael: Method Mad or RZA. Method Man has voice acting credits in Moon Girl and RZA has voice acting credits in MFKZ and their rough, deep, raspy voices would work for Raph: Example One Example Two

Donnie: Vince Staples or Del tha Funky Homosapien. Vince is sarcastic and witty and I feel like that could fit Donnie and he has voice acting credits in MFKZ and Lazor Wulf, Del’s voice has the nerdy touch to it and he has voice acting credits for Gorillaz and Craig of The Creek example one example two

Mikey: I’ve been set on Anderson Paak voicing him ever since I saw a YouTube comment say he’d be the perfect Mikey and I agree, his voice has that raspiness Greg Cipes has but mixed with Rise! Mikey’s flair. He has voice credits in Trolls and We Baby Bears. Example One Example Two

And yes I added examples because whenever you want to bring up rappers as voice actors people want to get all mad and huffy about “ rEpLacIng ReAl vOiCe aCtOrS” when some of them are really fucking good at it but here’s who I think would be good for TMNT voices.

RAFAEL CASAL & DAVEED DIGGS - PHILADELPHIA FILM FESTIVAL (2018)

Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal at the Philadelphia Film Festival Springfest preview screening of "Blindspotting."

For Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal, it all goes back to Oakland. That was where they grew up, where they first met as kids and became life-long friends. Now, all these years later, long after both of them have moved away, Oakland has become the site, the subject and a virtual character in their first film together, Blindspotting.

Diggs and Casal came up together in the underground poetry world of Oak Town (a local nickname for the city). As teens they used to hang out at the local poetry slams; Diggs jokingly said that underground poetry is to Oakland as going to basketball games is to Philadelphia. This started getting both of them some notice, first locally and then they exploded out of the Bump City, going world-wide.
