I know everyone is predicting stuff for GMMTV P2 but the majority of my "predictions" (that are probably a little tin-foil hat coded) are not from that.

Do not get me wrong I enjoy GMMTV BLs. But I am honestly not as exited about new stuff from them. Once we have it I will probably enjoy most of them (unleass they fuck up in a major way again). But I can't build enough anticipations for any of it (especially since what I really want is never going to happen).

My non GMMTV BL prediction of this year and early 2025 are as follows:

CHANGE 2561 would be very very stupid to not capitalized on how much the cast of Pit Babe is close to each other and is able to create "shippable" content with non "official" ships. Also they did a bit of BL history already with Pit Babe, and I think they can do more by announcing some projects that break up the official pairs after the next one (the long bean one)

FoureverYou is not filming, that leads me to believe that the Vampire Project might not be the only project they are shopping around for. Despite the fact they are doing promo photoshoots and have all the cast ready and they did the blessing event thing (sorry I am not sure how to call it at this time) there has been no filming. Half the cast is still being managed by Wabi Sabi despite the fact that they are obviously not looking to do that anymore. SO THEORY: This is also getting shopped around. I don't think that GMMTV is getting this one, because of how fast the part 2 is coming up now. But another studio might be getting, along with the rest of the Wabi Sabi actors that are not GMMTV and don't want to go indipendent.

Barcode being at all the promotional stuff with Ta (and Copper) makes me think they might be testing the water. JeffBarcode have Wuju Bakery but then nothing, and Copper is leaving soon, so no pairing with Ta is able to happen. They might be testing the waters to eventually pair Ta and Barcode as leads in a BL ---- I am not saying I 100% want this, I would be ok with them not having a pair braind. But BOC is short on bankable pairs. So far they have one. BibleJes is getting tested with 4 Minutes and all the other boys don't have a set pairing. A third pair for them would help them a lot.

I am not saying you have to agree - I am not even saying I am correct - I am speculating only. This thoughts are colored by my expirience and I can only speak for myself.

The BossNouel Mame series (the one that is based off the Minor Side Couple in TharnType s2 - the neighboors with the jealous boyfriend and the younger uni guy) is not going to happen. Hear me out, not only did Nouel just cut his hair in a way that would totally clash with how the character he is supposed to play looks like. It would also be very bad for them. I have recently re-watched TharnType and it appears obvious to me (although again I might be wrong - this is just my opinion) that this ship is basically less bratty Rain and less bad boy Phayu. They are basically the same dynamic at their core. And if BossNoeul does this, they will get typecasted all the way to hell.

That is what killed OhmFluke (UWMA) and it is absolutely still hurting their job prospers even now. Fluke as expressed already that he wished to do a Mafia style BL, something where he played a criminal, but he is not getting that.

I think BossNouel should not play a dynamic that is so similar to their first one.

I know I don't know these people and I am just speculating, but that haircut is not something a naive and innocent babyfied character like the one is supposed to play should have. Love Sea finished filiming. They should be working on the BossNouel series soon. So why cut his hair now?

Plus Mame re-realesing TharnType and Don't Say No on YouTube full episodes and all, might have been a way to get people to recall the characters BossNouel are supposed to play, their are supposed to play in that universe.

That is why the series got re-released (I am guessing) which means they expect to shoot relatively soon. So again, why cut his hair in a way that that character wouldn't have. Because as it stands they would have to use a wig on him.

Unleass they are doing something very very different in which case why dragged the TharnType characters back, or they are not doing that anymore.

I don't know. I might be wrong.

glad that at least from the impression i’m getting from ur rr posts im not the only one who doesn’t like the season that much and for the same reason.. i literally only like like less than half of the cast 😭 and even those that i like i like so much less than other td characters, i need to rewatch but i feel like the characters coming in pairs was both a blessing and a curse bc it meant so many got basically no interactions with other characters from what i remember. the flop to slay ratio is dire

The show is overwhelmingly full of moments I think "I could have written this better" or "I think they would have benefited with more obstacles at this part of the race" or "who the fuck keeps screening dirty cops for game shows. I HATE cops in game shows. Game shows are MY baby's first obsession. RR is one of those shows were you're like "ugh I liked PARTS of it so if they had another season it'd be GREAT because they couldn't do that stuff again." Which is 100% sunk cost fallacy, do not be me.

The lack of attention and care when it came to elim order of the familial duos kinda irks me. With the exclusion of The Rockers (which btw, I was INCORRECTLY informed that they were more shippable. You guys ship THAT!?) all the non-sister family duos get canned in a row (Mother/Daughter, Twins, Stepbrothers, [Rockers], Father/Son). While there's a lot of downtime with non-elim eps, it's still PAINFUL how ship focused it is. HELL, Kitty falls into nothing but a shipper of Emma and Noah which. I'm so sorry but I skip all their scene and their musical sting oh my god barf city. (Earlier I was trying to make sick because I accidentally possibly ingested mold, and honestly a comp of them might have done it.)

So few characters interact with anyone outside of their teams and that kinda blows??? Like I swear this is the perfect show to have Aftermath type things instead of non-elim eps, where it's just "behind the scene" content, like what everyone actually did on their 17 hour flights. I wanna see The Tennis Rivals treating Junior like their darling innocent grandson, but then complain Dwayne doesn't work hard enough. The Vegans temporarily befriending The Adversity Twins for their dislike of dairy, but then going "actually nevermind" because they're just lactose intolerant. The Goths just glaring everyone down and Owen is like "You remind me of a girl I knew once! She was emo too!" and Crimson is internally screaming because she's NOT emo. She is GOTH. Also the fact Owen and Geoff NEVER talk is downright CRIMINAL. YOU GUYS KNOW EACH OTHER... TALK...

oh, it's actually hard to answer bc pretty often my otps can work as brotps for me as well. it also means that when i can't ship some characters they don't work for me as friends either. not to mention that in asoiaf i'm open to many ships, and if i'm not very passionate about some it's not a sign i can't see them in romantic light.

5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?

may i say any sansa ship? 😭 as well as sansa herself lmao. idk generally i can't ship characters i don't like because i'm just not interested. and it's not to say i don't like book!sansa (show!sansa is another case 💀), i just don't find her arc as intriguing and epic as arcs of some other characters. however, it's absolutely her obnoxious fandom's fault that i don't want to touch anything about her now, pairings including. sansaery? pass. sansan? i used to have a soft spot for them in my heart but now? nah. sansa x anyone? pls have mercy, she's already a fandom bicycle.

and jonsa ofc. i would never mind some crack ship as i do this one if not for their obnoxious stans that did way too much to list there right now. but this burning desire to persuade every rock on the street that your crack ship is canon will never stop being ridiculous lmao

jonrya it is! i never hated them, you know, but they never were more than siblings and brotp to me. however, later i encountered the deluded crack ship fandom that shall not be named and understood that if there is any possible romance for jon with any of his sisters-cousins we all know which one it will be lmao. also their stans are very sweet and i really like many of their takes on arya and jon! i generally love relationships of jon and arya very much so it wasn't that difficult in practice to see them in a quite different light.

7. Is there anything you used to like but can't stand now?

meta culture lmao. reading different analysis and interpretations of the text used to be very interesting to me (and still is tbh but in other fandoms) though asoiaf is a different case. imo many people aren't honest in their so called theories and analyses. i get that all of us are biased but some "meta writers'" denial of their own biases influence fandom in a bad way. it looks like too many people run to them to get answers to their questions about any minor detail as if they were grrm himself. yk instead of using their own reading comprehension lmao. you see how this meta culture ruined fandom just looking at the most delusional stans and shippers who spread their agenda by writing endless text posts full of nonsense and bullshit but styled as oh so intellectual and thoughtful analysis. it's insane how many people actually buy it and don't check canon accuracy of such claims themselves. it got to the ridiculous point when random people try to argue with you with some far-fetched embarrassing "theories" as if they were canon facts or quotes straight up from a fanfic because they read somewhere some other confused soul's post and got from a context that this quote is canon (despite the fact that it wasn't written in grrm's style at all but some people can't use their brains even if their lives depended on it it seems).

anyway it's become too long and rambly already so tldr. because of such "neutral unbiased" analyses i got the habit of fact checking almost everything i see in such posts. there's only a small amount of meta writers from targ/dany/jon/arya stans that i trust because i know by practice and following them for some time that they don't pull anything out of nowhere, back up everything they say with canon quotes, don't decontextualize anything and (that is the most important thing to me) are reasonable and open to discussion unlike so many bnfs nowadays.

robert baratheon and tywin lannister, obviously. tbh it's pretty hard for me to hate any characters because you know. they're fictional lmao. just lines on paper, they can't hurt you. and even such dudes as tywin or robert don't get real distaste from me if they're written well enough. my problem with them lies not only in their canon crimes and shitty consequences of those but in fandom's (or at least some parts of it) unwillingness to acknowledge that they're canonically written as shitty, not as stan/pity/worship material. tywin isn't as clever as some think and robert is a coward outside of battlefield, not to mention some absolutely disgusting denial of his nature from targ antis only because the man happened to be the most vocal targ hater in-universe so these folks feel like he is their main book representative and whitewash him completely lmao

uugh idk even. i'm either low-key interested (or used to be at least so i can stay pretty neutral for the sake of nostalgia lol) or too indifferent to really care.

all my faves have their own crowd of haters i'm afraid 😭 but let me say rhaegar. even among some dany/targ stans my man is so misunderstood lmao. it's not even his fault i dare say it's fanon about his half-imagined crimes that somehow got widespread to the unbelievable degree. and when i say they're half-imagined i'm being very generous actually. ofc he isn't perfect, no one in asoiaf is. and yes, he's a pre-series dead minor character but almost all little information about him is actually positive, not to mention the narrative itself that doesn't paint him as a villain or just a shitty dude. on the contrary, he's an idealized to some degree dead prince who could've been a good king (like some other historical targaryens, jacaerys, baelor breakspear, aemon son of jaehaerys, etc.), a mysterious yet tragic figure. i have much to say about why it's so popular to shit on him in fandom but yeah. his haters should send their complaints to grrm instead, no one forced the man to write him like that lol. and i mean that no one has to like him ofc. but it's misinterpretation of the text to claim he was intentionally written as a villain or smth by grrm.

i don't know if it counts as unpopular but i would say tyrion's arc as a whole because i enjoy his character and like in my own way. i can get why some people don't like him but this man will always have his own place in my heart i must admit.

is this unpopular tho?.. ok but renly wouldn't make a terrible king. i dare say he would be better than both robert and stannis. yes, he wasn't shown as perfect and i don't claim this. he wouldn't be the best or the most brilliant or the most just or noble. yet still better than his brothers. his flaws weren't anything other high lords didn't have, his mistakes weren't anything other lords and kings didn't do. in many ways he would make a better job than robert or stannis, too bad he died so early, even though i get why it was important for the narrative.

well generally for me it's the ones i love the most lol. jonerys/snowstorm is my never dying otp but i admit my sins, sometimes i just see dany with other characters (often from other fandoms pls don't @ me). however, since dany is THE fave of mine it means i would rather twist the other guy or girl to fit into the good match for her than twist her for another character in my new born crack ship lol. and i never stay for too long with the ships with which i feel they don't really fit and don't do justice for each other lol. maybe that's the reason i'm not much of a rare shipper / crack shipper afshdjdb

1.  What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?

To be honest with you when I say most of the ships in 5sos inherently make sense to me even if I don’t personally like them (I don’t like muke at all, I’m so sorry, but I still get it). Like, all of the members are so closely knit that I’m like “yeah, totally makes sense to ship you guys, you love each other to the ends of the earth and back.” There are certain portrayals of the ships that don’t make sense to me. Like a super dominant Ashton figure (even outside of the bedroom / a cold top) doesn’t make sense to me with any of the guys, because I think he’s too sweet on them to ever have the desire to hurt them. A submissive Michael personality doesn’t usually make sense to me in any dynamic. So forth, so on. But I think inherently, depending on how they’re written, all pairings within the band make sense to me. They all have such layered personalities that depending on what component you draw on to write, you can make any of them work.

3. Have you ever unfollowed someone over a fandom opinion?

Oh absolutely. Wow so many people. Like lots and lots of people lol. I just don’t have the time, nor do I have the emotional energy to see opinions I don’t like all the time. I block a lot of people on this app, I won’t lie to you. I have at least twenty people blocked right now. If someone expresses outright dislike of any of 5sos’ significant others, I unfollow them. You can “not be a huge fan” of them without outright disrespecting them and slandering them. If they express hatred of the newer albums tbh, I unfollow them. If they think any of the 5sos slash ships are real, I unfollow them. I block any and all drama blogs I come across. It’s not hard to be decent and respectful, I think. And I just don’t tolerate that detrimental behavior in any way.

6.  Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?

Well, I came in for lashton only, and I’ve steadily branched out into cashton and cake now lol, but I never really hated any pairings (still won’t read muke). There are just some I’m not as into as others. I’m sure if I read enough, I could like any of these pairings. 

7.  Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?

Oh this is a hard one!! I’m trying to think if there is something I genuinely enjoyed that the fandom ruined for me. If we’re talking specifically about fanfiction, I used to read a lot more angst/abuse fics in other fandoms, because I really like reading recovery, y’know? I always have. I adore hurt/comfort and I find the mindset of that so interesting and so enjoyable. I want to hear about a character build themselves back up from a point of destruction. But there is very little of that in this fandom (excuse my french) that is even remotely well written. Of course I’ve read some hurt/comfort that is super good here! Genuinely, and I should make a rec list for it tbh. But it’s harder to find physical hurt/comfort in this fandom than any other I’ve been in and so I don’t seek it out anymore. It’s just not worth the let down. If a writer I already like writes it, then I count my blessings but... usually this fandom portrays trauma as very romanticized which I don’t love. I miss reading a good recovery fic. And, if I thought there was a bigger audience for it, haha, I’d write a ton more stuff like Will Be that goes further into recovery than WB did.  

26. Most shippable character?

Oh Luke for sure. Is that even a question? It’s Luke. He’s the most popular member of the band without fail in the public eye, he’s the most attractive (from like a subjective point of view, he’s what most young women look at and go “woof woof”), he’s the sweetest. Luke isn’t a sharp or hard-edged personality. He’s not mean, he’s not extremely bitchy. He has an adorable squeaky laugh and it’s so goddamn easy to write him in a more feminine role and most fanfic writers want the more heteronormative roles filled so that means a Dominant personality (which any one of Calum, Michael, or Ashton could play perfectly) and a submissive personality which Luke’s caricature easily slips into.

1. What was your first OTP?

I think the first movie I remember with a pairing I thought needed to be together was Sarah and Jareth in Labyrinth when I was very young.

As an adult in online fandoms though, my first ship was Harry and Ginny in HP. I shipped them for about 2 months before I accidentally stumbled on a Draco/Ginny fic and jumped ship and the rest was history. :)

8. Who is the most shippable person you can think of?

This is an interesting question. I'm a mega-monogamist when it comes to my otp shipping but there are a couple characters I would be happy reading various pairings for.

Hermione Granger is one like that. I really like her with Ron but I can also read her with George or Cedric or even Harry. And then there is Darcy Lewis. I love her with Loki and Bucky but have also read a poly Steve/Darcy/Bucky fic or two and enjoyed them as well. In Riverdale, Veronica is an example of a character who I'd be perfectly content with Archie or Reggie or Cheryl or Toni or Sweet Pea. As long as she's not breaking up my otp, I'm really flexible and I think that's the definition of being very shippable.

10. Do characters have to have canon interactions for you to ship them?

They really don't. For example, my HP OTP only had a small handful of canon moments and they were overwhelmingly negative moments. I feel pretty blessed that my current long-standing otp is/was/will be again together in canon, but it certainly isn't a requirement.

Okay, here it goes.

Eliot:

Favorite thing about them: Wow, this is so hard because I’m just in love with Eliot Spencer lol. If I have to choose, I think I’d say that my favorite thing about Eliot is that he would do literally anything for the people he loves and seems to genuinely expect nothing in return. I think it’s common in the fandom for Eliot to be considered the group’s protector, and while it’s more than that, he definitely is. And the safety and happiness of his loved ones is the only reward he seems to desire for doing so.

Least favorite thing about them: The flip side of that is that it’s always seemed to me that Eliot thinks he deserves less than everyone else in the group. He makes due with lurking just outside the group, watching over them (at least at first), and doesn’t expect them to fulfill his needs. The problem with that is that he sometimes fails to see how much they need him, for more than just his skills.

Favorite line: For the feels, it’s “Till my dying day.” Gets me every time. For humor, it’s, of course, every single “Dammit Hardison!”

BrOTP: Maybe this is weird, but Eliot and Sophie. The two of them have always had a really interesting relationship to me because they didn’t seem to get each other at first and there was tension between the two of them for a while, but they developed an understanding over the series. Their scenes together were always great.

OTP: The OT3, baby. Eliot, Hardison, and Parker are in love.

nOTP: Nothing specific, just any ship that gets in the way of the OT3 lol.

Random headcanon: That he’s bi 💖 Not just because of Hardison, he has great chemistry with a lot of guys in the show!

Unpopular opinion: Huh, that’s a tough one. Maybe just that I won’t be upset if the OT3’s not officially canon in the new series. Like I would love it, but I would really understand if that’s not part of the vision they have for it (and I know the subtext will be there regardless).

Song I associate with them: Christian Kane’s very own “Different Kind of Knight.”

Favorite picture of them: His look in the French Connection Job is one of my faves.

Okay, now Spike!

Favorite thing about them: Again, so tough. This might sound odd, but I love his vulnerability. I love that it’s been a decade since he was a shy, lovesick poet, and yet no matter how hard he tries to turn his persona in the complete opposite direction, he still can’t help how much his feelings show. At times it gets him in trouble, but I think it’s also why he’s able to connect to humans in the show pre-soul, in a way most vampires never could.

Least favorite thing about them: At times he lets his feelings have far too much free reign (this is both pre- and post-soul imo). At his best, his perceptiveness allows him to see someone hurting and know the right thing to say. At his worst, his big emotions sometimes bulldoze over other people’s.

Favorite line: For the feels, it’s “I made a promise to a lady.” For humor, it’s literally every line lol, I can’t choose.

BrOTP: This is a tough one because Spike makes a great BrOTP with so many people. I’m gonna cheat and pick two. I love Spike and Willow together. We don’t get a ton of it, but it’s always amusing when we do. She seems to feel bad for him even when he’s doing bad things (like when he kidnaps her in Lovers Walk or tries to bite her unsuccessfully in The Initiative) and he always seems to kinda like her even though he claims to hate the Scoobies.

I also love Spike with Dawn. It makes perfect sense that she’s always trying to tag along after him. She says herself that he’s the only one who talks to her likes she’s not a kid, and I think what she’s picking up on is that Spike, as an outsider, doesn’t have the same interests or concerns as the Scoobies. I think it’s the same reason she loves Tara so much, albeit a very different relationship lol.

OTP: Spuffy, of course (though as I’ve said, I will always love Sprusilla too).

nOTP: I don’t really have an answer for this. It’s been said a lot that Spike is shippable with pretty much anyone, and I tend to agree. The only thing I wouldn’t ship is something inappropriate, like him and Dawn, but I’ve rarely seen that shipped anyway.

Random headcanon: I didn’t come up with this because I’ve been seeing variations of it for a long time, but that Spike is really good at doing makeup and nails and has done both Drusilla’s and Buffy’s in their respective relationships.

Unpopular opinion: That he’s not superior to Angel because he fought to get his soul back and Angel didn’t. Don’t get me wrong, I love him for that. Like, it’s AMAZING that he was able to do it. But it doesn’t seem to me that people choose how far gone they are once they lose their soul.

grrr i accidentally tapped the power button and my chromebook fully turned off while i was halfway through answering this so not i had to rewrite it. but that means u will get even better answers since it’s my second draft!! anyway thank u for sending an ask :) 

sexuality headcanon: she’s a lesbian. i can see it in her eyes and her hair and her whip and uh literally every interaction she’s had with any character in the whole series. literally the gayest woman in any piece of media i’ve ever consumed. we were blessed.

gender headcanon: i like to think that adult franziska is butch!! but we don’t KNOW because we haven’t SEEN HER since she was NINETEEN capcom release franziska from the basement challenge. but i think she is since she��s very hot now but she would be even hotter in a suit and short hair :) i am both projecting myself and my type onto her right now. i do hc her as cis but trans franziska is rly good too

a ship i have with said character: franmaya!!! franziska and miles’s s/os who are both idiots but also smarter than them both is such a fun dynamic. maya won’t know who chopin is and then turn around and solve franziska’s entire murder case and u know what? good for them. 

a BROTP i have with said character: hm honestly? franziska and larry. i know franziska canonically hates him bc he hits on her too much but i think he would stop if she told him she was gay and himbo & mean lesbian is such an iconic duo. besides larry isn’t that bad u guys r just mean and the narrative frames him as an idiot. it’s not his fault he’s straight he tried not to be. i also love franziska and miles OF COURSE i’ve read so many fics about them that kleiner bruder is the only german phrase i know

a NOTP i have with said character: franziska/any man. for obvious reasons and also bc all the franziska/a man ships chose the WORST men. klavier’s accent is too fake for her to suffer. phoenix is too old for her. gumshoe is too old for her. shi long lang is too old for her. a random headcanon: i hate rich ppl sports but franziska could make them look Very Good. i think she plays polo which (from my understanding) is croquet but on horses. franziska in riding gear would be very good sdjfkl. also i made a post about this a while ago but i think it’s HILARIOUS so again i don’t think she and miles ever came out to each other and they’re both just waiting for the other to finally say something. franziska fully went to her brother’s wedding and is still like ?? when’s the fool going to do it

general opinion over said character: hottest girl in the room at any given point unless ema skye is there in which case it’s a tie since they’re my two favorite characters 🥺 would have been my gay awakening if i had played the games a little younger

Knightfall - (History)

The good: At the beginning of a lot of these shows, I have a real issue with telling who the heck is who. I didn’t have that issue for the first few episodes, which is good.

The bad: They are in FRANCE. Why is everyone speaking with a modern posh British accent?  Also, the make up on the women in episode 1 is distractingly modern and kind of garish (This goes away, thankfully).

Also bad: Season 1 was well lit and for the time period, had a lot of color. For some reason in Season 2 they started doing that thing where it’s so dark and washed-out that you can’t tell what’s going on half the time.

This show, while not un-entertaining, is kind of a mess. I get the feeling that they thought it was going to be canned at the end of the first season, then they got a surprise renewal and had to scramble to put the second season together. THEN they seemed surprised to not get a third season so the ending seems a bit slapped together, with a number of loose ends. What happened to Adelina?  What happened to Landry’s mom and what did she tell Pope Boniface that made him let Landry go?

I found in the first season that I couldn’t care less about the Templar and their search for the Holy Grail, but I loved the political intrigue surrounding the Crown of France.  By the second season, the Royal family was clearly batshit, and I cared about the Templar because let’s face it, they got fucked over.. ahem.. royally.

Last, all of the shows I’ve watched to this point had some level of humor to them,  while Knightfall had exactly one line I laughed at.

A show this dark needs SOME comic relief.

Observations:

Why did King Phillip and William DeNogaret decide to trade hairdos and facial hair in season 2?

The season 2 storyline with Princess Isabella and Queen Margaret made little sense to me and seemed to be mostly just to give them something to do. From what I understand, the Real Princess Isabella would have been too savvy to let a percieved slight turn her full-psycho.

Favorite Characters: 

QUEEN JOAN. I love her so much.  I wanted so much for her.  I wanted her to leave Philip and rule Navarre on her own and be an awesome queen.

Adelina is adorable and badass, and I want to know where she went.

Tancrede was my season two favorite, bless him. Undying loyalty to the main character gets me all the time.

And though she didn’t really show up until the last half of season 2 and didn’t do much until the last two episodes, Lydia was pretty cool.

Least Favorite Characters:

DeNogaret (aka, Uncle Creepy) sucks on a few levels.  In season one I thought he was going to be a fun, scheming, Littlefinger type. Season two he’s a boring advisor. He doesn’t even have any facial hair.  He’s beige curtains.

Princess Isabella sucks. It doesn’t help that they switched out the actress in season two to someone with no emotional expression whatsoever. But seriously, Isabella is the worst. In season one she’s not entirely terrible, but she doesn’t seem to have a problem with snitching on both DeNogaret and her OWN mother. Snitches get stitches! Season 2 she’s gone full sociopath because.. what.. her sister-in-law slighted her by.. trying to be nice? Weak sauce, dude.

King Phillip sucks. He was somewhat sympathetic in season one, as yes, his wife did sleep with his best friend, but he was over-the-top evil in season two (hence the “I’m evil” beard?)

OTP: Tancrede + Anne.  I guess Landry+Joan, but I could see from the beginning that wasn’t going to end well.  Otherwise, there’s not a lot of shippable material here.
