I stand by certain opinions I have of Blake and, if I’m being honest, they are unlikely to change. Justin however…
I really was naive enough to think that he was one of the good ones. The lawsuit very clearly proves that his misbehaviour with the cast and crew did happen. We can no longer deny that and gooddamn it hurts… Not all men and all that, huh?
Yet another moment in life that has proven me wrong about a man and right about my general opinion about them. I hate that it was him but, more than that, I hate that I fell for an act yet again. I know people are going to probably perceive this as a problem of my interpersonal relationship with him so let me clarify that it is not that at all. It’s simply a person, a man, in the public eye who seemed decent and good and kind and… he wasn’t.

I can dislike Blake Lively for her plantation wedding and tone deaf marketting and believe her when she says she has been harrassed because I'm an adult and my brain is developped enough to hold two truths at once, especially when these two truths have nothing to do with one another.
I'll believe her on her word alone, because when I said "me too" and "believe victims" I didn't mean "but only likeable victims though the annoying ones can stfu". But I don't have to. Because he literally signed a legal document agreeing not to do these behaviors again, emphasis on again.
And while she had the grace to only request that he stop those behaviors so she can keep working and didn't sue his ass right away, he decided to retaliate in a smear campaign that had even the staunchest feminists rallying around him. I'll admit, even I fell for his good guy spiel there, especially because years of his "man enough" podcast have bought him so much good will within the feminist community. And to find out that he was using us to prop up his career and harrass women behind the scenes? That is a betrayal. And the fact that the tactics of his team worked so well is something I have to sit with and unpack.
And yes, it's uncomfortable to realize you've been had. But the solution isn't to double down on a victim. It's to take a step back and admit that we are not immune to propaganda. Only then can we start taking steps to escape, or at least learn to see the signs. If you're 100% convinced propaganda and brainwashing will never work on you, you'll be the first one to fall for it. You have to admit to a fault before you can start fixing it.
And this case is not about the harrassment. She's not suing him for harrassment. She already settled that with a legally binding document. She's suing him for retaliation and exposing something that women in the public eye have been talking about for so long but without any physical proof they couldn't take any legal steps. She's exposing how these pr firms will literally bury women the second they become inconvenient to the industry. Blake Lively is far from the first. But I am hoping this is a step towards making her one of the last.

apparently the movie didn’t make enough so blake lively has to sue for “sexual harassment”, but why would we trust anything she says when her perception has proven to be skewed? she thought Justin was “fat shaming” her when he asked one of the crew what she weighed so he knew how to train to protect his previously injured back in order to lift her for a scene safely. why would i believe anything she says?
on top of that, everyone who’s worked with Justin, including people ON THE CREW FOR THIS MOVIE, have said he’s wonderful to work with and everything good we think he is. she’s blaming him for a “smear campaign” when everyone who was hating on her during the press tour was hating on her for her own previous and current behavior, making light of the very real shit DV victims go through and how serious the movie should’ve been taken and bullying female interviewers.
she got her famous husband to cross a picket line during the writers strike to rewrite scenes for the movie for her, WHEN ALL SHE WAS WAS AN ACTRESS. she said herself she can’t act unless she’s also a director because she needs to “control everything” and “make all the decisions” creatively.
she’s proven herself to be unreliable, mean spirited, and controlling. yet I’m supposed to believe her claims? because she’s a woman? we’ve been through this rodeo already with a privileged dyed blonde bitch celeb making it impossible for women with credible claims of DV and sexual harassment/assault to be believed and get justice. we don’t need to do this again.
and don’t think it’s lost on me that she’s friends with the likes of taylor fucking swift and she’s trying to ruin a jewish man’s career because he wasn’t her yes man on HIS project.

sunshine and elliott reunion WHENNNN?? @selene567 he’s hereee, sorry it took a while ♡
“I wanna snuggle okay? Sue me.”
“I was kind of joking earlier when I said they gave off culty vibes, but I don’t think it’s a joke at this point.”
“My powers can do more than just bring you peaceful sleep. I love them for their ability to do that, but they can also bring you wonder, and mystery, and strength, and joy. They’re yours, Sunshine. Always.”
“I’m glad you think it’s beautiful. But if you ask me—and if you won’t, I will—I think you are so much more amazing than any dreamscape I could create.”
“Do I have to send you back to your self-inflicted grocery store hell?”
“Since when do you have to date somebody to cuddle them? I mean that just seems like you are drastically reducing your list of potential cuddle partners for no reason.”
“I mean if I just come out and say it, I’ll be denying us both the opportunity for at least a few more years of reciprocated but undisclosed pining for one another that could easily be solved by an honest conversation but one that neither of us is prepared to make for fear of rejection…”
“It wasn’t a game to me. You aren’t a game and you aren’t some prize to win.”

“God, you’re fucking cute.”
“You’re all I have now Aaron, please help.”
“Congratulations. You unlocked a portion of my tragic backstory, brave traveler.”
“‘Yes’? That’s all I get? Well sure, it’s enough, but where’s the weeping, where’s the drama, where’s you cutting me off with a kiss like some kind of movie? OW, why are you hitting me?”
“Thank you, Sunshine. Well… for giving me a chance. A decision you very well may come to regret, but if that’s the case, it’s really not my problem.”
“I’m working on it, I promise. For you.”
“I think people are beautiful because they’re complex, and they can surprise you in a million little ways, every day.”
“I’m probably pronouncing half of these wrong, because, ya know. I’m trash.”
“That one there—that’s called Caelum. It’s one of the dimmest ones. It’s not a very exciting one, the name just means chisel. But the word also means Heaven, or Sky. I like that. It’s just a little guy, but… I feel like it’s got some cool secrets.”
“The dreams are always sweet when you’re in them.”
“I just want them to be safe.”
“Sorry, baby. Kiss to make it better.”
“I love my powers. But the waking reality that I have with you is so much better than the things I make. Because that reality is true. And I’ve got you in it.”
“‘Slew’ is a word, shut up.”
“Urgency? You say that like I'm annoyed my Starbucks order is taking a while, this is my partner's life we're talking about, ‘urgency’ doesn't begin to describe it.”
“No. No, I don’t think you’re crazy. I know you, sunshine. I trust you.”
“If they’ve been trying to use you in some way, I’ll make their life a living hell. They’ll wish they could wake up.”
“We’ll… figure this out. Together. That’s the part that I care about. You, Sunshine.”
“Fuck physics, fuck law of nature, just give me M. C. Escher, baby”
“Oh you think I sound whiny now? You don’t know how whiny I can get.”
“Oh good. I wanna hold you as I pass the fuck out.”
“Hey, but then again, we also might just get some looks because people know a power couple when they see one.”
“This feels like the magical equivalent to ‘we’ve been trying to reach you about your vehicle’s extended warranty’, just now with a fun culty, closed-community spin.”
“You feel good. No improvements necessary there. Well I mean maybe there are a few things I could fix—“
“Fuck off, Blake!”
“I know you hate me, you don’t have to remind me.”
“I’m just here for good dreams and good vibes, you know?”
“You’re doing so good, baby.”

i didn't have 'blake lively sues the jane the virgin guy for ordering a successful smear campaign against her to cover up his sexual harrassment and misconduct and now he has to deal with all the unhinged text messages between him and the pr team - which is run by the same people that did the amber heard campaign btw - becoming public record where they openly admit to everything and lament how much people hate women while jane the virgin guy is trying to convince them that posting birth videos and talking about how his adhd made him sexually harrass women is a great strategy' on my 2024 bingo card but i really should have.

Post like the the "you couldn't even handle [insert infamously hated female character here]" get me thinking about claims like what they quote.
To start with those claiming we need more [blank] female characters will often be the same that agree that there's a cultural stigma against girls who will "step out of line" socially and how that's been leveraged against female characters enmass.
Though it's also interesting to think about the other group this claim will come from. Namely those who carry their unconscious biases against "badly written" female characters but act as if they don't.
See, they can handle evil, comical or even morally grey female characters... in their minds. They love the hypothetical strong female character in their heads. Detached from any narrative context. No other characters, male especially, for them to foil off of. Nothing to "ruin" them as it were.
Korra, the character, had initially been received well at the idea of a female protagonist leading a new Avatar series. However, when applied to an actual story and cast of characters to bounce off of, you better believe that a lot of people busted out the "unlikable" card like it was Exodia's Head.
RWBY's practically the poster child. Each Trailer showed off a dimension of the four leading ladies with a lot of blanks to be filled in later. Whatever one thinks how the series lived up to the hype or not, a lot of the hatedom seems to express that they only wanted the girls to be the basic traits we saw initially.
Ruby, a smol bean of cuteness.
Weiss, a prissy ice queen with a snide aside at the ready.
Blake, a "naturally submissive" goth who totally still loved Adam.
Yang, a party girl of a bimbo and a dumb blonde.
None of these were all the characters were. Not even in the Trailers. Yet those comfy assumptions devoid of the narrative context of a Magic School for Warrior or a Final Fantasy globe-trotting epic appealed to the male geek in our brain.
That's no even getting into how individual taste factors into it. Not to make this reply any longer but if I have to see another godforesaken YouTube video about Mary Sues or "how to write female characters" or how Arcane is somehow this exception from "the rule" in modern animation... I'll do something not very nice.
So... yeah.

In the lawsuit, first reported by TMZ, Lively alleges that the work environment with Baldoni at the reins became so hostile that an emergency meeting was held with Sony Pictures. A list of demands for Baldoni were then drawn up, per the suit, including that he refrain from talking about his previous “pornography addiction,” sexual conquests, and the cast and crew’s genitalia. On the film side of things, the lawsuit claims the director was told “no more adding of sex scenes, oral sex or on camera climaxing by BL outside the scope of the script BL approved when signing onto the project.” The lawsuit also alleges that lead producer Heath showed Lively video of his wife naked, and watched Lively in her dressing room when she was topless and having body makeup removed. Both Baldoni and Heath also entered Lively’s dressing room uninvited, including when she was breastfeeding, the lawsuit states.
