I think Blaine (ZG insert) is a silly little side-ish character who joins the main cast when one of their parents possibly tries to help the a.e.u.g but Blaine is well known for being a prodigy child / celebrity for being a pilot in their own right and they're told not to do anything stupid so they disguise themself and pilot one of the mobile armor in a battle several times before getting caught and they're told "i mean we need extra people" but because they are so up their own ass about being good they rub most of the crew the wrong way until they're fighting because they desperately need the people. but Blaine also has a fun little backstory and even though they present as prim and proper and dress nice all the time the longer they are working with the a.e.u.g the more disheveled and down and dirty they become like they were when they were younger
#theyre not a nepo baby i prommy they just like fulfilling everyone's unattanable goals as a little newtype#truthfully theyre not actually as popular / popular for the reasons that they think they are (because of them being a newtype)#its mainly that theyre held up as a weird circus freak doing all these cool things and outside of battle theyre weirdly objectified#sometimes discriminated for their abilities / used as media fodder for negative reasons#their mother is probably the one they arrive with but she is a spy for the titans and blaine doesnt technically understand that (airheaded)#but theyre confident in their abilities and this becomes a suprise tool that will help us later (targeted by scirocco)#i just wanna have a scene where blaine has helped in a fight but theyre in disguise / only a handful of people know theyve joined them#and since theyve been told to keep their appearance on the down low no one is supposed to know#but everyone and their mom with latent newtype abilities is like '?!?!?!?! what is that melody' when theyre nearby#sorry for the novel in the tags but i was gonna put this in my server and id have to deal with my partner reading and then teasing me#val.txt#si: blaine#self: gundam

I think the Barbie movie would have been even funnier if Blaine was in the movie. The general public needs to know about the time Barbie and Ken canonically broke up for a while and she was hanging out with an Australian surfer guy named Blaine.
