31/10/2024: James dressed as Tom-Man
Tumblr media
"No way! You just drew this like right now?!" Actually no, I drew this on Monday I just got round to finishing it this morning on Medibang.
Its just a quick pic of my own OC Tom-Man swapping costumes with @slick_getaway555 very own OC James Taygen A.K.A The Badarse Slick-Getaway (* Snorts * Arse!).
I'm not sure James likes wearing such colourful clothing. He's more into wearing Black or you know Neutral coloured clothing.
Also there's something about Tom-Man wearing Black that just works you know.

Are the ancestors a flex? I believe they are. Realistically, the African diaspora derives all their powers from “the Ancestors”. It’s why I always struggled with American comics. I just don’t get it. But in the NeoAfrican Comic Universe you will tap into the real methods to get in touch with that power. Subscribe to #redhunter and even comment on the methods you uncover to call the ancestors. #webtoon #manga #anime #webcomic #manhwa #comics #webtoons #webcomics #manhua #linewebtoon #webtooncanvas #artistsoninstagram #comicart #blackpanther #comicbooknerd #creatingcomics #characterdesign #NCU #blacksuperheroes #kolanutproductions #africanfuturism #blackgirlmagic #afroanime #africancomics #africanwebtoons (at Ontario, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/Co5Q2z9P6Wm/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

IN HONOR OF BLACK HISTORY MONTH, video of my webinar on: THE ORIGIN OF THE BLACK GREEN LANTERN! At the dawn of the 1970s, legendary comic book artist Neal Adams forged brand new artistic identities for several mainstream comic book characters, including Batman and The X-Men, as well as two distinctive DC heroes, Green Lantern and Green Arrow. His photorealistic visual acuity enabled he and his writer/collaborator, Denny O’Neil, to break new ground telling the kinds of reality-based stories that could be told in “superhero” comic books, and in doing so, made their Green Lantern-Green Arrow run of (only) 13 issues one of the most honored and esteemed, memorable and influential in comic book history! One of the series’ most memorable creations was the 1972 debut of one John Stewart, a.k.a. “The Black Green Lantern,” DC Comics’ FIRST black superhero! The details of how he came to be–from the origin of his very name to his civilian identity’s occupation–are explored, featuring comic book panels, pages and covers presented so dynamically that they’ll make you look at, and understand, the legend of Green Lantern John Stewart as if for the FIRST time! https://youtu.be/wddTpTFA6ms #greenlantern #dccomics #nealadamsart #dennyoneil #juliusschwartz #superheroes #blacksuperheroes #blacksuperhero #johnstewart #johnstewartgreenlantern #arlenschumer #comicbookhistory #comicbookhistorian @dgareps @nyadventureclub @richardsyrettstrangeplanet @adamschumer https://www.instagram.com/p/CoXgcFirgs8/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

✊🏿#ArtIsAWeapon #Artwork: Portrait of Nat Turner with the Head of his Master, 2011 #Artist: @kerryjamesmarshs #KerryJamesMarshall VIA @eji_org On this day in history - Nov 11, 1831 - Nat Turner was Hanged; Hundreds of Black People Later Killed By White Mobs Angry About Slave Revolt On November 11, 1831, after a rushed trial and conviction, an enslaved Black man named Nat Turner was hanged in Jerusalem, Virginia, after being convicted of leading a revolt against his enslavers. On August 21, 1831, Mr. Turner led a group of Black people in a revolt against slavery. Other enslaved Black people joined the uprising and Mr. Turner's troops grew to 60 to 70 people who fought white enslavers before being defeated by a militia. Many of Mr. Turner's followers were killed or captured immediately but Mr. Turner escaped and evaded searchers for weeks before being captured on October 30, 1831. Enslavers and defenders of slavery throughout Virginia wanted Nat Turner and all who participated in the revolt harshly punished as an example to others who might be inspired by his efforts. At least 18 Black participants in the uprising were executed along with Nat Turner. There are numerous black characters in cartoons that have become iconic over the years. Here are a few examples:
Huey and Riley Freeman from "The Boondocks": This critically acclaimed Adult Swim series is known for its commentary on African-American culture and current events. Huey and Riley, the main characters, are young brothers with sharply contrasting personalities. Huey is a politically conscious 10-year-old who is well-versed in contemporary social and political issues, while Riley is a mischievous 8-year-old who embraces the stereotype of a young black gangster.
Frozone from "The Incredibles": Also known as Lucius Best, Frozone is a superhero with the power to create ice from the moisture in the air. Voiced by Samuel L. Jackson, Frozone is a close friend of the Parr family and is a standout character in both of the "Incredibles" films.
Black Panther from "The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes": The Black Panther is the king and protector of Wakanda, a highly technologically advanced African nation. His real name is T'Challa, and he has enhanced abilities achieved through an ancient Wakandan ritual. Black Panther was also a central character in his own animated series, "Black Panther," that was released on BET.
Susie Carmichael from "Rugrats": Susie is a charismatic and talented young girl who often serves as a voice of reason among her group of toddler friends. She's also known for standing up to Angelica, the resident bully in the series.
Gerald Johanssen from "Hey Arnold!": Gerald is the best friend of the main character, Arnold, and is known for his tall hair and his storytelling abilities. He's often the one to provide urban legends and local neighborhood lore.
