if you're stretching for shadowclan cats to use:
antpelt is mistakenly listed as from shadowclan in battles of the clans, and the wiki had him as a different character for a while. he also has an unnamed apprentice
shredtail is also mistakenly listed in shadowclan during bramblestar's storm
I am absolutely at the point where I'm willing to make absolutely ABSURD stretches. I'm affectionately calling all the extra cats I'm scrounging up from writer mistakes and background scenes "ShadowClan's Glitch Warriors." Thank you so much for pointing these three out, they're going in the list.
Suddenly, I was struck with an absolutely hilarious idea. Partner wanted something fun to draw but still has read absolutely nothing about Warriors, so I pitched;
"I will tell you nothing about these characters or who they are except their names. Draw a Shredtail, an Antpelt, and Antpelt's apprentice. TOTAL freedom over the designs here."
First they drew this lmao,
"This is a joke," they clarified
"NO I LOVE IT," I said, "KEEP GOING"
So we got Dollar Tree Shredtail, Great Value Antpelt, and the best thing I've ever seen in my life. Once they put these designs down, we talked personality and differentiators from the canon counterparts while they colored and refined them;
I loved the bushy gaster tail so much that I swore on the spot I was going to work it upwards into a whole bloodline, including the very obscure background warrior in AVOS, Wasptail. So even though they're mentor and apprentice in BOTC, I've decided these two will also be related. Probably siblings, or auncle/nespring.
The little black one is based off an Admiral Butterfly (it was my idea to make the little spots on their chest look like medals), so the name seems clear to me. Admiralpaw. Xey'll be meewa unless another gender works better; and I'm planning for xem to go out during a bloody battle against The Kin in true admiral style.
(funfact; admiral butterflies are extremely territorial. Males fight each other for control of a plant to attract females to.)
Warrior name is still undecided, though. Open to suggestions, leaning towards Admiralflight or Admiralflower.
Not-Antpelt I'm having name troubles with. I REALLY wanted to name them Majorheart, after a major ant, to keep the "military ranking + bug" pun that Addy's got... but it seems that none of the ants in this area would have a major caste. B'awww.
In the meanwhile, Antspot works fine. Alatefang or Dronepelt could work, too. Feel free to shout out suggestions, this guy's name and gender aren't set in stone.
Lastly, here's Diet Shreddy. Girl now <3
She is 100% going to be killed during The Battle of the True Eclipse, keeping consistent with the mistake in Bramblestar's Storm where Blackstar mournfully calls out the name of a Dark Forest warrior. I'm also undecided on if the actual Shredtail himself dies during that battle in BB, it might just be her.
In any case, she's probably going to be a TPB girl. If she's born during Brokenstar's time, she's one of the younger ShadowClan cats to take part in the WindClan Massacre. Might even be an early apprentice at the time, in a similar situation to Badgerfang (though in BB this was a one-time thing). If not during Brokenstar, then sometime during Nightstar's brief reign.
Right now she has no family, she's in my "reserves" at the side to use as a patch between generations. Her name is probably going to be either Tattertail or Shredclaw, given as an Honor Title after the Battle of BloodClan.
So she had a previous warrior name as well. She seems like the kind of troublemaker who would have the prefix Sike-- a small stream that dries up in summer. Sikestripe, if her name was given by Nightstar, or Sikestrike, if it was given by Tigerstar. Maybe it was one and then the other, in a sign of disrespect to his predecessor's lie.
#Then I lulled partner to sleep by streaming me working on the ShadowClan Family Tree#Small update for all concerned; Thank you for all the well wishes. They're doing ok#As OK as you can be in this situation. It comes and goes in waves.#We've been doing lots of nice stuff while hanging out all day. Soup. Video games. Stories. Rest.#They asked me for some nature prompts because plants are relaxing to draw#So I'm going to try making some guides specifically to their requests#But anyway--#I'm compiling lots of “glitch warriors” so I can mark down EXACTLY where they come from and their descriptions.#So far I've counted like 3 silver tabbies#This is extremely funny because there are TWO adult cats who could be called 'silver tabbies' alive during that time in TPB#Neither of them are actually silver tabbies (Boulder is solid gray and Archeye is a gray tabby).#And one of the 3 unnamed silver tabbies is a queen.#Btw I want to open up a like... 'Let's pick some names and personalities!' thing somehow for a lot of these Glitch Warriors#Because it sounds like fun and I like the spirit of collaboration with these guys#Plus I know some people really love the biome-accurate prefixes I can provide so this is a nice opportunity#Better Bones AU#bone babble#bug#ant#cw bug#ant cat

New Longstar AU - The Final Countdown or Four Once More
-Prologue-
Thunderclan is in mourning – Hollywish is presumed dead, and the traitorous Sol hasn’t stopped his wheezing laugh at every waking moment. Purdy is horrified that the cat he once considered to be a friend has done such a terrible thing, but begs Longstar to not kill Sol on the spot – he can’t eat, and seems to have gone mad. Swiftpool, as the mother of the victim, is given the final word. She demands that Sol be left where the Twolegs will find him – let them decide his final fate, she sobs into Crowfeather’s fur.
Flamewish and Longstar mourn for days with their grandkits, leaving Brightheart to govern for nearly a week, with Mousefur backing her up. Eventually Mousefur drags the leader and his family out of their mourning – Sol wanted to break you, don’t you DARE let him win!
(The Twolegs bring the injured and babbling Sol to a vet, who sends him to a cat rescue. The poor thing has some kind of brain injury, and his poor tongue is nearly gone. Sol spends his final days as the thing he hated most – a pampered Kittypet – but his mind is too far gone to feel anything.)
(Brambleclaw looks for the spirit of Hollywish, wanting to keep her from Starclan, but is blocked from the tunnels by winding vines and sharp leaves. A cat ghost, all drenched and freezing, drags the injured molly deeper into the tunnels – he will protect her from the stabbing claws that pry at his safe haven.)
Windclan is in mourning with Crowfeather – Hollywish was a beloved ally! Breezepelt and Heathertail reminisce about her, while their mate Antfur nods along, but his mind is elsewhere…
Shadowclan is in mourning – Hollywish helped save Blackstar from Sol’s manipulations, only to lose her to those same powers? What a tragedy. Goldenheart, Dawnpelt, and Embertail make her a little shrine deep in the marshy territory, where no one will disturb it.
Riverclan is in mourning – Hawkfrost and Mothwing are near inconsolable. And to top it off, Leopardstar has been getting sicker and sicker lately…and the otters have been getting restless – the lake water has been slowly dropping…
(The Miretrees celebrate a victory – one Prophecy cat is dead! They are one step closer to victory! The disgraced clan cats are joined by the collared Kittypet dead and a few loner gheists, each and all reveling in their depravity. But in the shadows, several figures huddle quietly. They know that the Visitor will be back tonight, and one by one they slink away. At a secluded hollow - the sight of a quiet and unassuming death of a long ago murderous Healer, name now long forgotten – several Dark Forest cats meet with a group of regretful kittypets spirits…and the Visitor descends like a Star from the sky…)
(In Starclan, Yellowfang and Bluestar have a spat – Bluestar forbids Yellowfang from interfering with her living kin, and Yellowfang is having none of that. My great-grandkit is missing, the Dark Forest is trying to devour us all, and you want us to BACK OFF?! ARE YOU INSANE!? It takes the combined strength of Nightstar and Runningnose to keep Yellowfang from physically fighting the former Thunderclan leader, but they convince her to guard her family closely – and they will help her…)
(In the city, the Hope’s Rest Clowder is preparing for war. The Stars have spoken of a battle coming for the Clans, and that the Clowder will be needed to defend them. Pieces of discarded Twoleg trash are crafted into armor with clever paws. Battle plans are discussed, discarded, and reworked over and over. Darkstripe and Sasha are training with a group of younger cats when a clamor rises at the entrance to their settlement. The Healer Twoleg sits outside, closer than they’ve ever ventured before, with a sack of some kind. Sasha peers out, and the Healer Twoleg reaches into the sack…and deposits more of the armor pieces that the Armorers desire, but already trimmed of sharp edges that would catch and cut the wearer, and with bristles attached to make attacking the wearer difficult. Sasha makes eye contact with the Twoleg – and sees a cat spirit wrapped around the Twoleg’s shouders, batting their head against the Healer’s ear. The Twoleg and Sasha exchange blinks of trust, and the Clowder cats marvel. Darkstripe begins dragging the armor in – it seems the Stars have given them one more ally.)
(At the Barn, Ravenpaw and Barley see a Ghost wind around the legs of the Farmer, who bends down and holds them like a Queen holding a kitten. The voice of Redtail echoes from behind the pair of Barn Cats – the Dark is rising, and All must fight; for if the Dark wins, All souls will be lost, not just cats…)
-Apprentice Tales-
Moons have passed, and the nursery kits are ready to become apprentices. Ivykit and Dovekit are being groomed by Birchfall and Whitewing, and the kittens joke about poor Wormkit being groomed by both his parents Ashfur and Flyshadow. The kittens are summoned by Longstar, and he ceremonially asks them what Roles they have chosen (even though he asked them earlier, it’s important to the Clan to announce it like this – Ivykit thinks it’s silly but obliges anyway).
Ivykit chooses to be a Hunter, and Ivypaw is apprenticed to a surprised and delighted Charheart. The pair touch noses, and Ivypaw promises to not let her down. Charheart quietly insists that Ivypaw will make mistakes, but so will she, and they’ll learn together.
Dovekit, with her partial hearing loss, is apprenticed to Jaywhisker to be a Tracker, with Snowthorn there to provide support. Dovepaw bounces on her feet, and nearly headbutts Jaywhisker.
Wormkit wants to be a Crafter AND an Herbalist too, so is apprenticed to Goldenflower, with Fireheart providing Herbalist teaching. Goldenflower bestows a woven legband for Wormpaw to wear, which he immediately starts fidgeting with.
Their first task? To bring water to the Clan, as a drought has been ravaging the territories. Dovepaw swears that she can hear Riverclan arguing about the otters taking all the fish, but Wormpaw jokes about her “selective hearing” and Ivypaw bats at his ears until Jaywhisker separates them. Dovepaw looks over the slowly draining lake, and hears faint chewing noises in the distance…
Spiderleg and Berrynose get stuck in the mud on their own water patrol, and Thornfur leverages them out with a large stick. Wormpaw pokes at a dead fish, and gets jumpscared by Rainstorm…who then ALSO gets stuck, and feels humiliated that Thunderclan had to save him.
Later, after a long day of training, Dovepaw lays quietly, and does not hear the ghostly pawsteps that trod closer. She only sees a flicker out of the corner of her eye, and assumes it’s Ivypaw. She tells “Ivypaw” that her hearing isn’t working right now, so can she just sit by her for a while? When the cat leaves, and actual Ivypaw walks in, Dovepaw is confused, but the sisters sit in peace, and Ivypaw watches her sister’s back.
(Bluestar grumbles at not being heard, but is distracted by Yellowfang pointing out her hypocrisy – oh so YOU can visit the living but I CAN’T? Eventually Bluestar admits to feeling useless, and Yellowfang comforts her – if we don’t help them together, we all fall.)
Some time later, Dovepaw confides in Jaywhisker that she’s been hearing some strange noises upriver, and swears that sometimes she SEES brown animals blocking the river with trees. Jaywhisker has Issues with this, and with the help of Lionblossom, talks to her about the Prophecy – and that she’s probably part of it now. This sends Dovepaw into a panic attack, and she flees to Ivypaw, who threatens to slap the answers out of Jaywhisker, respected clanmate or not. She gets read into the Prophecy, and vows to protect her sister. Dovepaw tearily tells her that Ivypaw is her favorite sister, and Ivypaw ruffles her fur, I’m your ONLY sister dummy! Unless we count Wormpaw as our bonus boy-sister. The two laugh and embrace – and Jaywhisker and Lionblossom have a bittersweet moment of memory with the fragile image of Hollywish…
(In the tunnels, Hollywish crouches by the underground stream. She fishes out a juicy lost fish, and the soggy form next to her congratulates her.)
Lionblossom feigns having a vision, and Hawkfrost confirms that the brown creatures must be Beavers – he’ll get the otters involved in helping. A patrol with members of each clan heads out – Jaywhisker and Lionblossom, Ivypaw (strictly to help Lionblossom) and Dovepaw from Thunderclan; Hawkfrost, his otter friends Weed and Log, Rippletail and Petalfur of Riverclan; Sedgewhisker and Whitetail of Windclan; and Smokefoot and Goldenheart of Shadowclan. Jaywhisker, Lionblossom, and Goldenheart chat about their apprentice days, Rippletail boasts about how he’ll kill a Beaver, and Petalfur scolds him for his arrogance, and Ivypaw and Dovepaw learn some Otterspeak from Hawkfrost.
Unfortunately, Rippletail is lost in the fight against the Beavers – Ivypaw tried to stop him, but he shoved her aside and leapt basically into the mouth of one of the creatures. Weed, Log, and Sedgewhisker avenged him, and the dam was broken, but Ivypaw still felt useless. She couldn’t save him – and Hawkfrost breaks through her thoughts. He chose to do that – Rippletail was a good fighter but he made a poor decision, and that’s not on you! Sedgewhisker chimes in, you did what you could, but in the end it was his time – I only hope that his spirit is at peace…and if he shows up here I’m boxing his ears for idiocy, Petalfur scowls tearily. This does cheer Ivypaw up a bit, but she still saw violence, and her heart aches…but she curls up with a shaken Dovepaw and they share their fears together.
The Patrol returns to the lake refilling, and split off to their respective Clans. The four Thunderclanners are welcomed back with open arms, and Ivypaw is treated to her mentor’s reassurances after hearing the story. Being back on Thunderclan land brings Ivypaw’s confidence back up, and eventually she’s back to her old self, if a bit more thoughtful.
-Dark Forest Rising-
A few nights after the group returns, a heavily pregnant Poppyfrost, acting as a surrogate for Berrynose and Honeyfern, asks Lionblossom to escort her to the Moonpool – she’s been having nightmares about losing her kits. He obliges, but once they’re within sight of the pool, a cat attacks them. The molly, eyes heavily scarred over and mouth dripping, slashes at Poppyfrost’s side, but hits Lionblossom’s shoulder instead. He strikes at the stranger’s throat, and his paw comes back coated in black and foam, but she backs off. Poppyfrost makes it to the Moonpool, but Lionblossom calls out a warning – another cat is leaping at her! But this cat is thwarted by the timely appearance of Berrynose and Honeyfern, who saw Poppyfrost wasn’t in the Nursery and were concerned. The mates charge at the attacker and strike as one, and the coward flees into the evening, leaving behind bits of feather and shreds of heather. Only then does Lionblossom realize that his shoulder is torn open, and that the gunk coating his paw has vanished. At camp, Poppyfrost comfortable in the Nursery, he talks to Jaywhisker, who remembers the old stories of Brokentail…something horrible is happening…the Dark Forest cats are escaping the Mire…but their conversation is interrupted by Poppyfrost going into labor!
(In Windclan, Antpelt returns to camp injured, telling everyone to watch out for a very angry Hare. Heathertail puts new heather in his fur, and Breezepelt finds him a new feather to wear.)
(In the Dark Forest, Brambleclaw gathers beautiful flowers from the scene of a long-ago crime, and plots on how to bring his next trainee in…a jealous sibling should be no problem to him…)
Some time later, Dovepaw tells a dozing Lionblossom that someone is going to the Moonpool. He takes a look, and sees Mothwing and Mistyfoot. He sighs, and goes to Longstar – I think Leopardstar died Gramps. The next morning it is confirmed by a visiting Hawkfrost – Mistystar has risen to power.
After a series of failed hunts and trainings that left her despondent, Ivypaw throws herself into sleep, and wakes in a strangely bright meadow – no sun in the sky, and odd depressions in the tall grasses. But she is distracted by the appearance of a large and well decorated tomcat, who asks if she needs some help. Thinking it’s just a weird dream, she asks for help training, and the stranger obliges. The next morning, she tries one of the moves on Charheart, who asks where she saw such a move? That’s very advanced but seriously, who taught you that?
Ivypaw, freaking out, tells her about the tomcat and the meadow – Charheart freaks out, and the pair head straight to the Healer’s den. Darkmoon sees their distress and calls for Longstar and Fireheart, who were chatting with Mousefur. The situation is explained, and explained again to Dovepaw and Jaywhisker and a very confused Wormpaw. After hearing everyone trying to figure out the Dark Forest’s next move, Ivypaw surprises herself by offering to be a spy. There is arguing, but after vowing to call on Yellowfang for help if she needs it, Ivypaw becomes a Dark Forest Trainee…
A huge storm sweeps through camp, and to the horror of all, a tree falls onto some fleeing cats! Mousefur is gone in an instant, and Briarpaw’s back is broken by a branch – not to mention Ashfur’s bruises and Coldlight’s crushed tail tip! Millie is distraught, but is reminded of Feathertail, and of how she survived a broken spine! Graystripe vows to help his daughter in any way he can, and Longstar decides to promote her – and her siblings – for their bravery evacuating the camp. Briarlight, who had already been training to be a Camp Guard, breaks into tears at her ceremony.
Dovepaw is awoken one night by a brown cat, claiming to be Onewhisker. He says Shadowclan is planning an attack on the borders, and Dovepaw relays this to Longstar the moment the spirit leaves. A battle patrol quite literally runs into a patrol on Thunderclan territory, and a fight ensues. Someone shoves Jaywhisker from behind, and his claws catch on the tender throat of Russetfur. Everyone breaks apart, and Jaywhisker wails in horror when he realizes what happened. Back at camp, Dovepaw describes Tiger”star” to a horrified Longstar. But it’s far too late to stop what’s happened… (Starclan is in crisis – how did Tiger”star” sneak through to Dovepaw!? Bluestar finds a crack in their defenses, that makes her suspect more…)
-Plans Coming Together-
(In the city, the Twoleg Vet Tech gathers bandages, stitches, anything she might need to treat mass wounds. The ghost of her childhood cat Nanigans perches on her desk, purring softly. She had talked to her grandfather, who had his beloved Barn cat Sweet Pea show up, and he’s been preparing to help as well. When you start seeing cat ghosts, ghosts that the suspiciously smart neighborhood cats see too, it’s time to start worrying…)
At camp, Lionblossom treats the wounds of the patrol, while Darkmoon and Fireheart try to calm Jaywhisker. He’s retreated into a ball in the corner of camp, and it takes his mother to pry him out. He yowls in grief and horror, and Swiftpool takes him to a quiet place in the territory, to let him grieve. Dovepaw covers her ears – her hearing is now flinging from nonexistant to too much too loud with little warning and no time to adjust.
Jaywhisker, resting fitfully in camp, is woken by Charheart. You don’t look too good, and something big flew over camp – maybe you need a walk? He agrees, and the pair scare off a small owl. They walk in silence for a time, but then they are interrupted by a call – Embertail. He looks devastated, but asks Jaywhisker what happened to Russetfur – some of the Brawlers are saying you did it on purpose, but…I don’t believe them. Please, what happened? Jaywhisker, supported by Charheart, lays out the events, and Embertail sighs – that sounds like a total accident! Oh Jaywhisker I’m so sorry – I’ll talk to Blackstar about it. With that, Embertail wishes the pair farewell, and heads off. Jaywhisker leans on Charheart and thanks her for the help. Of course, silly, what are friends for?
(In Shadowclan, Redwillow seethes. How DARE Embertail step in like that – Russetfur’s murder was all planned out, another wedge between clans, and then this?! Redwillow seethes, and in the Stars, Russetfur thinks hard.)
Ivypaw and Dovepaw have their first real fight a few days later, Dovepaw insisting that Ivypaw stop her spying Right Now – look what they did to me, think of what they’ll do to you!! Ivypaw snaps back, well maybe if you’d thought to double check who you were talking to, MAYBE your mentor wouldn’t be traumatized, and someone wouldn’t be dead!!! They stalk off away from each other, but at Wormpaw’s insistence, talk over their issues a few days later. Wormpaw asks Goldenflower if there’s a role for helping cats get along, and Wormpaw starts even more training with Darkmoon, to see if he wants to also be a Therapist.
(Dovepaw keeps running into Goldenheart on her patrols – not on purpose, but it just. Keeps. Happening! After a while, it becomes less annoying and more funny, but still…Starclan why?)
(Bluestar chuckles, not seeing Yellowfang behind her with a scowl.)
In Shadowclan, Blackstar, Embertail, and a sickly Littlecloud go to the Moonpool. The spirit of Raggedstar advises that the clans stay apart, but Embertail argues that if the clans were closer, maybe Russetfur would still be alive! He then crouches in shame for speaking Like That to a Starclan Spirit, but the laughter of Yellowfang gives him confidence. Russetfur herself appears, and tells Blackstar that she will wait for him, her chosen brother, but to also stop being a pompous idiot and be social.
(Nearby, Juniperclaw watches silently. Perhaps it’s time someone visits this interfering Seer…)
Ivypaw wakes in the Dark Forest, and on her way to train, she stumbles through a new place – the edge of a raging river in a storm. She sees paws in the water for a moment, too small and horrible to think about, when she’s startled by a massive tortie molly, all flapping throat and rippling fur, emerging from the waves. The molly advances on her, blurbling words just out of hearing, and Ivypaw backs up – right into Brambleclaw and his thorns. Brambleclaw tells the molly, Mapleshade, to back off, but his voice is unsteady. Mapleshade laughs like a drowning bird, and vanishes out of the stormy clearing.
Ivypaw, seeing an opening in Brambleclaw’s armor, starts praising him. Obviously tricking her sister was HIS idea, because it was so good! He eats it up, and brings her to training. As she trains, she sees a white cat, half coated in ice, weeping sleet. They make eye contact, and Ivypaw sees pain in his eyes, but also regret…that’s new. Eventually, she sees Tiger”star” talking to Goldenheart, and when she wakes, Longstar is Very interested in the regretful cat, and asks her to keep an eye on him. Lionblossom and Jaywhisker are horrified at Goldenheart’s appearance.
It's Leafbare, and Jaywhisker has been cultivating his friendship with Embertail. They’re sliding rocks on the frozen lake, when Jaywhisker hears an ominous THUNK beneath them, followed by cracking. Embertail falls into the water, but is quickly hoisted out by Jaywhisker and Dawnpelt. But even after he’s treated, even after he’s warmed, Embertail won’t wake up…
(Mapleshade drags the blank-faced spirit of Embertail to the Miretrees, something like a smile on what remains on her face…)
Ivypaw is greeted that night by Mapleshade, who drags her along with her sodden tail, and shows Ivypaw the drowsy spirit of Embertail. K I L L, says the monstrous molly, but even as Ivypaw reluctantly lifts a paw, Goldenheart charges into the scene and bowls her over. They argue, and Mapleshade just laughs, until she sees that Embertail is just gone! The trainees scramble away from the furious tortie, and Ivypaw hisses that she would never hurt Embertail. Goldenheart thanks her, and the two part ways.
(A silvery tom with biting beaks in his neck helps a faceless, gurgling tom guide Embertail away. The white frozen cat is waiting at a hollow tree, and the Visitor ushers Embertail to his body. The Seer awakens, dazed and confused, with no memory of anything after the ice.)
Then Icecloud falls into the tunnels. Jaywhisker and Charheart both huddle together, experiencing some very nasty emotions, but Icecloud is freed and the tunnel opened. Lionblossom does NOT find his sister within, but instead a tuft of fur, and crushed holly leaves…maybe, just maybe…Hollywish is alive?
(In the background, Icecloud lifts the apprentices spirits by placing a betting pool on when Charheart and Jaywhisker will start dating. Ivypaw confides that Charheart thinks that they are, but Dove giggles and says that Jaywhisker has no idea. Wormpaw suggests maybe a betting pool on when Jaywhisker figures it out, and a deal is made.)
-Times Are Changing-
None of the apprentices expect what comes next – Longstar calls them to receive their adult names! Ivyleaf is named for her rapid growth and sheltering nature, Dovewing is named for her adventurous spirit and kind nature, and Wormwood for his steady and dependable nature. Their vigil is calm, and their sleep sweet…except for Ivyleaf…
(That night, she fights Antpelt, and when he tries to help her up, Broken”star” attacks him. That night, Heathertail wakes to something sticky in their shared nest, and her horrified screams wake Breezepelt, whose yowls join hers quickly. Antpelt lays between them, so bloody he looks like a different cat altogether. Kestrelflight rushes to treat him, but it’s far too late…)
At the next Gathering, Goldenheart tries to flirt with Dovewing, which is a surprise, but Bumblestripe steps in and Brightheart has to break it up before a fight starts. Wormwood is asked about Briarlight by Grasspelt, who promises to come for a visit, I mean if that’s okay? Ivyleaf thinks it’s sweet. She finds it less sweet and more annoying when Goldenheart tries to get time with Dovewing and Ivyleaf has to distract Bumblestripe.
Lionblossom begins to experience strange dreams, of being a cat named Lion’s Roar, and hearing the voices of cats from said dreams coming from the mountains. Knowing that this is important, Lionblossom asks for Longstar to assign him a patrol to go check it out – he asks for Graystripe and his family – including Briarlight - and Foxflight and Shrewleg. Frostfoot asks to go as well, and the patrol prepares to go.
On the morning of the patrol’s departure, Jaywhisker and Charheart are on one of their morning patrols, and are discussing the Prophecy and the Dark Forest. Charheart admits to feeling insecure sometimes, courting a cat chosen by the Stars, and Jaywhisker nearly runs into a tree. WAIT HANG ON WHAT cough cough what do you MEAN we’re COURT - oooooooonnnnnoooooo I’m a moron…Jaywhisker puts his head in his paws, I’m supposed to be the smart one HOW DID I NOT NOTICE!?!?!? Charheart please stop laughing at meeeee! Charheart, at this point out of breath from laughing, wheezes out, it’s been moons, and Jaywhisker starts cackling like a loon. The two lay there laughing for a while, but eventually DO have a relationship conversation.
(Wormwood wins the bet, and Ivyleaf, Dovewing, and Icecloud all pay up with tasty mice)
Up at the Tribe territory, Stormfur and Feathertail greet their father and siblings and stepmother, and figure out quickly that there are no problems in the Tribe! This is Great! Lionblossom offers to teach some healing techniques, and Briarlight and Feathertail bond. The mobile patrollers do have to fight off an eagle that tries to steal Swoop, but she escapes with a broken leg. However, every night they stay, Lionblossom has dreams of another time, and of a beautiful cat named Half Moon. She promises to wait for him, and when the patrol leaves the Tribe, Lionblossom sees another shadow following him. They return triumphant, with tales of eagles and a few new hunting and healing techniques.
In the Miretrees, Ivyleaf sees her father and Blossomfall training and is a little Concerned, but refuses to blow her cover. In camp, Dovewing begs Whitewing to get Bumblestripe off her back. I gave him one compliment and now he thinks we’re in love!? Mom PLEASE I’m going to slap him if he keeps this up!! Whitewing pats her daughter, and whispers she saw a molly looking at Bumblestripe like he hung the Moon, and to leave it to her…
(Whitewing sets up a little shrine in the woods, just a few stones and berry pawprints, and tells all the single mollies and toms except Bumblestripe (and warns her kits about it) that it’s a Love Shrine. That if they bring a piece of prey there at Sunhigh and ask Starclan for their blessing, that the mate they seek will appear to them soon after. Rosepetal leaves a frog on the offering stone and begs the Stars for Bumblestripe. He’s the sweetest tom she’s ever known! He brings prey to the Elders, and helps his sister exercise, and lets kits crawl all over him, and he’s so beautiful she wants to cry sometimes! He’s brave and his fur looks so soft and she wants to cover him in Courting flowers and I just want someone that devoted but aimed at me! Is that so much so ask!? She stares at the sky, sighs tearily, grabs her frog, and turns to head for camp-
-And nearly runs into a wide eyed Bumblestripe. Whitewing told him that she wanted some flowers from the meadow nearby, and he saw Rosepetal with a frog, his secret favorite prey and then she just-
-he smiles tearily, you think I’m pretty? I mean, I’m not even that attractive- And Rosepetal tackles him into the meadow with an indignant yowl, SHUT YOUR MOUTH!!! They roll down the little hill as she sputters out how his stripes are so pleasantly Shaped and his little hair tuft is so Cute and how DARE he talk about himself like that!!! They end up side by side, panting, and Bumblestripe gently turns to her – well, you’re pretty great yourself y’know. She stammers, and shoves some flowers in his face. He laughs, and she laughs, and right there, for a little while, everything is beautiful.)
(Dovewing hugs her mother tightly, I don’t know what you did but THANK YOU, he even apologized?! Mom you’re a miracle worker)
-And Now What You Were All Waiting For-
Cherypaw and Molepaw get lost in the tunnels, but are led to safety by “a shadow and a wet thing ma stop licking me I’m fINE” and Swiftpool wonders…but refuses to get her hopes up. But Dovewing hears “Somethings” down there, so she, Ivyleaf, and Wormwood go to investigate. And get lost. The three start to panic but then the Somethings Dovewing heard show up – a cat ghost, all drenched and sopping wet, and a barely there shadow with green eyes. They lead the trio to the exit, but the watery ghost has a soft conversation with the shadowy cat, who presses their head to the ghost, washing away the mud covering their face, revealing tortie spots. If it’s alright, I’ll come with you, they say, and Wormwood agrees for the stunned sisters. They know who she MUST be, but Wormwood can be a little dense sometimes…
As they approach camp, Swiftpool calls out – oh thank Starclan, we were looking everywhere for…you…
Hollywish?
HOLLYWISH! MY BABY!
Swiftpool nearly tackles the dusty molly off of her feet, wailing in joy and relief – Jaywhisker screams WHAT and charges out of camp, Charheart and Lionblossom in hot pursuit – Mistlenose running circles around her family - Foxflight screeching YOU’RE HOME and flinging herself forward, Shrewleg cheering – Longstar and Flamewish and Fireheart breaking through a crowd of gathering cats and falling into the pile – Hollywish sobbing out I’m Sorry I’m Sorry I’m So Sorry – Darkmoon yells from the edge of the mess to get Crowfeather – Snowthorn jumps in to brush against her then bolts for Windclan - in a moment or maybe an hour Crowfeather crashes in MY KIT MY KIT MY KIT - it’s chaos but the most welcome kind of chaos
Hollywish is home!
She explains what happened – the friendly Gheist, named Fallen Leaves, had saved her, but to do so had to bind her to the tunnels until her injuries would have naturally recovered. Longstar swears to build a shrine for him, so he can gather his strength again. The news spreads through the Clans like lightning – and not just the Clans…
(The Dark Forest yowls in rage – there are four Prophecy cats again! Brambleclaw is thrown about by Tiger”star”, cats are thrashing in rage – some of the oldest fading in an instant of fury. But some cats quietly celebrate – they have a better chance now.)
(Starclan cheers wildly – there are four Prophecy cats again! This makes things SO much easier! Yellowfang is crying – no I AM NOT – and somewhere, a cat quietly slips into the Miretrees again – just another Visitor…)
In a rage, Brambleclaw commands Ivyleaf to fight the remnants of Antpelt – a twisted façade of someone that she knew – someone who was loved – this isn’t him anymore. Ivyleaf destroys the not-Antpelt, the was-Antpelt, and watches it crumble like dry sand and ashes. She struts past Sunstrike and Furzepelt, refuses to make eye contact with Goldenheart, and
As soon as she’s out of their view
She B R E A K S
Ivyleaf weeps as soundlessly as she can, slashing her clotted claws into the rotted wood of an ancient tree. She heaves up everything she ate before, until nothing comes up…that had been her friend, and now he’s gone forever…and then she hears movement. She whips around, claws ready, but – it’s the white cat, with the frozen body. I’m sorry you had to go through that, he mews, but I think what I have to show you may help. My name is Snowtuft, he crackles, and if you want to stop these horrors, come with me. And he walks away.
And she follows, heart in her throat, and they pass through a far-too-familiar field of flowers. She can see that the odd depressions in the grass are where cats lay dying, and sidesteps bloody pawprints, where someone sprinted through the scene. Snowtuft leads her past Mapleshade’s river, through a tunnel choked with bones and thorns, over a Thunderpath shrouded by fog until finally, they reach a hollow in the trunk of a tree. It smells like poppy seeds and tree sap, but what catches her attention is the other cats. Snowtuft gestures to them – these are my fellow rebel leaders. We were sinners, were monsters, were horrible in life, but we want to make up for our past mistakes. This, he croaks, is Silverhawk – the silvery tabby has the beaks of birds protruding from his neck, snapping soundlessly at his face. This is Sparrowfeather – a misshapen molly with thin birdlike legs. This is Maggottail – the grey-white tom glistens with slime and his eyes bulge strangely. And this is Boulder – the faceless cat gurgles at her, ineffectively wiping his dripping spit away. Behind him sat a – a Kittypet? A brown and white collared Kittypet, unkempt and bony. I’m Dastardly Dan, Dan’s fine, that one hacks. Those lot’ve been snatchin the worst o us outta the Dark Place, but well, they ain’t th’only ones. And he gestures upwards, where a glimmer drops down and lands before Ivyleaf. She hops back but – that’s – that’s a Starclan cat if she ever saw one. Hello brave soul, the yellowy spirit murmurs, my name is Micah. And I am VERY glad to meet you.
-The True Reason and The Power of the Powerless-
And Ivyleaf learns everything that has happened here. How Micah was the mate of the first Oracular Healer, who separated their kits because she couldn’t care for them and do her Role. How he had tried to change her ruling but was overturned. How he wandered from Starclan, and found the Dark Forest, and watched it grow from the wrath and hate of a cat named One Eye. How Micah had tried to save some of the souls here, and been injured – and how a long-ago Healer, who had killed their most ill patients instead of trying to heal them, had nursed him back to health. That healer had made this hollow from the memory of their first victim, their own sibling, and hid there until Micah crashed in. And how the Healer had been the inspiration of Micah’s mission in his afterlife – to save the repentant souls that came here. The Healer had been the only one Micah had been able to save in any way – their spirit had begun to fade, and Micah had brought them out of the Miretrees and to a litter of cold kits – and they had splintered into the kits, saving their lives and being reborn.
Starclan has refused to help me, or to change their ruling on Healers having kits…but the world is on a moment of great change. When the Stars foresaw that the Dark Forest would rise up, many wanted to simply destroy the Dark Forest, and be done with it, Micah mews. But instead, I crafted a Prophecy, and gave gifts to those who would need them, and hoped for the best. And the best has happened – here you are, the brave soul that chose to enter the darkness, to save the light. You I gave no gifts, for you need no gifts but your wit, bravery, and kindness. You have what may be the most important role here –
You’re going to save the trainees. You’re going to clear their eyes. Micah pauses, have you ever wondered why your father, a loyal cat, is here? Or Goldenheart? A mire is hard to escape once entered, and the darkness has clouded their minds into believing this is Good and Right. But you came here, knowing it would do you harm, and with many to support you, so the dark failed. Some may be beyond saving, but if you bring them to me, I will clear the shadows from them.
Ivyleaf is shaken and confused, but – I’ll do anything I can to save them, she agrees. Micah smiles gently, and the gathered cats sigh in relief. Now, when you awaken, please tell only those you can trust to not gossip. And with a touch on her forehead, Ivyleaf awakens. She bolts to the Leader’s Den, waking Longstar and Flamewish, and shakes them awake. We have hope, she whispers to their astonished faces, we have hope and a plan.
(Each night, she corners a trainee, come with me, I’m giving you Special Training. She starts with Goldenheart, who hacks and heaves and shakes in horror. Her father collapses against her, begging forgiveness. Icewing and Beetlewhisker huddle together. Sunstrike tries to dash herself on sharp branches, only to be met with the strong but gentle embrace of Micah. She can’t find the hollow when she brings Redwillow, and convinces him that her training is stealth, then ditches him. She can’t get to all of them, but the time is coming. When the Dark Forest is weakened, they will see what they have done…if they survive)
-Preparations-
The leaders meet in secret, and Longstar tells them some of what Ivyleaf discovered – keeping the news of Micah’s plan for the changes to the Code and who the spy is. Mistystar is appalled but ready to begin getting the camp ready for war. Blackstar is unbelieving until Mudstar tells them how Antpelt died – clawed to death, black rotten water in his lungs, between his loving mates.
The Healers begin stockpiling herbs, and the Nursery Guards and Camp Guards begin to clear out exit routes for the Nurseries and Elders Dens. Crafters pull bark from the trees, reeds from the rivers, and scrap from the twolegs, to make armor and reinforce the walls. Brawlers sharpen their claws, Historians and Tacticians work on battle plans, and Herbalists prepare poisons and paint. Mates talk quietly, friends stick close, families promise to make it out together.
(Starclan prepares for war. Warriors draw the stars into their claws, Healers into their pawpads. Yellowfang rallies the Elders into a frenzy. Spottedleaf and Cinderpelt gather the kits and ask them to scout from above, the only place that the Dark Forest cannot reach them.)
(And a school bus, driven by a Farmer and his granddaughter the Vet Tech, draws close to the scene)
The curtains rise, the stage is set.

-Action-
The Dark Forest strikes at Shadowclan first – Graystripe and Jaywhisker lead the charge to help. The scene is chaos – Gheists everywhere, but Shadowclan is holding. Jaywhisker can smell the stench of darkness and rot, and pounces on a Mire Warrior, shredding their already shredded form. He hears Blackstar couch to life, and Redwillow screech as he dies. And he hears the familiar voice of Feathertail, with the chimes of the Stars through it, call Starclan to battle. Graystripe sobs as he attacks a skinny ghost, and hears his daughter vow to protect Briarlight.
Goldenheart and Ivyleaf fight back to back for a moment, and she sends him to help Dovewing – I can’t be her ears in this mess, go help her! If you ever loved her- but Goldenheart is already gone. She claws what’s left of the face off of a kittypet ghost, and turns all her attention to the battle.
In Windclan, Furzepaw leaps for Mudstar, and Sunstrike intercepts her. Please stop, Sunstrike begs, the Dark Forest killed Antpelt, don’t let them kill you. A furious Breezepelt slices through the back of a ghost, as Heathertail sobs over the fading corpse of another. Nightcloud and Crowfeather tag-team a dog-faced ghost, scattering them to the wind, and Hopfoot’s starry spirit joins them. Go on son, go to your kits, we’ll hold them off! Tallstar and startlingly Onewhisker leap from the skies, and Crowfeather bolts.
Brambleclaw confronts Ivyleaf, snarling about disloyalty and punishment. Ivyleaf smirks, did you really think you were in control of everyone? And suddenly the Dark Forest cats are fighting each other. Snowtuft leaps onto Brambleclaw, and Ivyleaf goes for the stake in his throat, but both are thrown off. Before Brambleclaw can do any major damage though, Hawkfrost and his otter friends attack. Hawkfrost finishes what he started before, and the otters sit on Snowtuft until Ivyleaf can coax them off.
Broken”star” leaps at the Thunderclan nursery, and Honeyfern clashes with the monster of a leader. She falls to her claws, and Berrynose screams in horror. Poppyfrost slashes at the blinded beast in fury, but it’s Yellowfang who sends her child to a second death. Honeyfern rises into a starry form, and takes up her place at the Nursery entrance. Mapleshade charges at Swiftpool, but is stopped by the timely intervention of Crowfeather. The mates slay her, but there are more and more ghosts appearing every moment…
Tiger”star” laughs at the weakened and half blind form of Longstar, I have more ghosts at my disposal than you will ever understand! Starclan will fall! The Mire will rise!
And then
A noise pierces the night.
HWONK HWONK HWONK
A massive yellow monster charges down the Thunderpath, scattering the charging Dark Forest forces. It screeches to a halt, and its side opens and
-HOPE NEVER DIES!!!-
Is screeched by the throats of the cavalry – the Hope’s Clowder cats, arrayed in thick armor and bristling with energy. They overrun the gathered ghosts like water over stones, and they are not alone. The Barn cats charge after them, swooping in on any injured cat and carrying them into the monster. The monster’s twoleg bursts out, wielding a long stick with a flattened and curved edged end, and begins swatting at any remaining ghosts with vigor. The spirits of kittypets descend like a swarm of ducks on twoleg treats, and the ghosts that the Miretrees depended on are scattered and destroyed in moments.
Tiger”star” screeches in horrified confusion, which only doubles when Darkstripe, sleek and plump, and Sasha, bright eyed and healthy, charge towards him in armor of their own. Fireheart, rushing from the camp to help Longstar, goes for Tiger”star”s dangling organs, and then the fight goes on in earnest.
And then it all
Just
Stops
Tiger”star” fades away, nothing more than a terrible memory. The ghosts of the Dark Forest and the Dark Place scatter. The friendly spirits of the Dark Forest and the Dark place gather to lick their wounds.
And Longstar and Fireheart are dying.
Flamewish crouches by them, weeping. Their children and grandchildren gather around their father and uncle. Brightheart begs Longstar to stay – she’s not ready! Everyone still needs him! No one is ready for this, Crookedstar intones, but you will be amazing my dear. And surrounded by friends and family, Thunderclan’s leader and his dearest friend pass into Starclan. They rise up together, gathering the newly dead behind them. And not just Starclan is leaving.
Dastardly Dan is greeted by the Farmer’s friend Sweet Pea, who invites him and his friends to join her. My Twoleg would love the company, and when her mate joins us, we’ll have a barn to explore! Only if we can ‘elp the others, twasnt just our lot that feel bad fer what we did. Of course, says another cat, Nanigans, everyone deserves a second chance. With a glance at Micah, who stands with the Miretrees rebels, Dan agrees, and the group of dead kittypets trot off together, past the Farmer and past the Vet, who has emerged from the monster. They disappear behind the monster, and all that is heard of them after is sighs of relief and cries of joy.
Micah steps forward, and what of these cats? What of these who want to change, to be better? They deserve a second chance as well. The gathered Starclan cats mutter and murmur, but the still-present Longstar loudly agrees. Darkstripe was given a second chance, and now look at the fine Clowder he leads! These cats deserve the chance to change! I will make a place in Starclan with my own paws if I must, adds Fireheart. And an agreement is reached. A place is made – not Starclan or Miretrees, but a place where those who desire to change may go and rest. The gathered rebels cheer, and as the living are told of this new place, the rebels begin to change.
Snowtuft ceases his constant crying, and the ice of his body clears. Silverhawk’s biting beaks become a collar of silent spikes. Sparrowfeather’s legs become sturdy enough to carry her weight properly. Maggottail’s skin looks less rotten and gooey, and his eyes shrink. Everywhere one looks, the rebels are somewhat restored. Micah, tears in his eyes, leads the group to – to the Restful Fields.
(Not everything is so terrible as the deaths and burials. Sasha is reunited with her kits, and screams in joy at the sight of her thought-dead Tadpole-now Crowfeather. She meets her grandkits and weeps in joy. Darkstripe is able to apologize in person to Sorreltail, and while they will never be close, she does forgive him. Frostfoot walks with Darkmoon, and meets his sister once again. Ruby changed her name to Smoke, and changed her nature as well. Forgiveness is had, with tears at time lost.)
And life goes on.
-Epilogue-
Brightstar surveys Thunderclan from the leader’s den, Cloudtail and Daisy at her side. She watches her deputy, Charheart, work with her former apprentice Ivyleaf and HER apprentice Hollowpaw, and wonders if Longstar approves of her choices. Daisy nudges Brightstar, and asks if she really doesn’t mind being a momma to her kits, and both Brightstar and Cloudtail snuggle her in – they’re a family now, and everything is going to be wonderful.
(In the city, things are going well. No group of rogues cat best the Brawlers or Scouts of the Hope Clowder, and their Healers are backed by the Twoleg Healer, who takes the worst cases without complaint. They stay in touch with the Barn, and often tell stories of how they all rode in a car to go fight ghosts)
(In the Dark Forest, ghosts lick their wounds and snarl angrily. But as they try to regroup, someone is watching. Someone who will use them for her own gain…)
(In the Dark Place, Quince flees from her former lackeys. Mapleshade promised her power and freedom, and now she’s back at square one! As she fumes in her hiding place, she doesn’t see the amalgam of cats creeping behind her…)
(In the Restful Fields, Micah is visited by Moth Flight. They talk for quite some time, and she finally agrees to a change in the Code. But not today – today is for rest and renewal)

Now that we have more insight about how Leopardstar thinks and deals with Tigerclan, how does Blackstar deals with Tigerclan? considering that he is not very innocent about everything
Great question. Leopardstar and Blackstar definitely have very different feelings on the subject. Blackstar— at least my protrayal of him in Shaken Roots— thinks of TigerClan very little. He does not carry a lot of guilt for killing Stonefur. In his mind, he was just following orders (following the warrior code,) and Stonefur was an enemy warrior, not his own deputy. I think Blackstar is far more emotionally torn up by his actions (or inactions) during Brokenstar's reign (especially the preventable deaths of ShadowClan cats/kits) than he is by anything that happened during Tigerstar's time.
Blackstar's morality is very interesting to me. I think in his heart-of-hearts, he's not a horrible person (like how Brokenstar or Tigerstar were.) But Blackstar is very easily influenced by the cats he respects and views as powerful. Put a cat like that in a position of power over him, and their orders easily override any of his internal morality. Blackstar is THE quintessential follower, and yet he somehow found himself in a leadership position. And it is only when he becomes leader, when no one else is "above" him, telling him what to do, that he can finally listen to the sound of his own conscience (which is, in fact, actually not telling him to kill half-Clan cats or train kits too early!)
Blackstar is at least self-aware enough to not want to fall into his predecessor's footsteps, and he is aware that it is him alone now making all the decisions when it comes to ShadowClan. So I think that has forced him to think for himself more and ask himself how he actually feels about whatever thing. If this version of Blackstar was transported back in time to be Blackfoot again at the Bonehill, ordered to attack Stonefur, he would not just leap in to kill him without hesitation. Granted, he may still kill Stonefur, but he'd at least think about it first.
Blackstar's indifference towards TigerClan is also encouraged by the general attitude in ShadowClan towards Tigerstar. ShadowClan has the most favorable view of Tigerstar out of all of the Clans. This is despite the fact that ShadowClan is actually one of the more generally accepting Clans towards outsiders (they have a long history of letting in rogues/non-Clanborn cats— some rogues even joined during Tigerstar's time. Although "soft" kittypets are the exception here.) Blackstar made Russetfur his deputy without any doubt about her loyalty despite her being non-Clanborn. And in present Shaken Roots time, Blackstar trusts Tawnypelt as much as any of his warriors despite her being originally from ThunderClan.
So many ShadowClan cats didn't necessarily ideologically agree with Tigerstar's anti-half-Clan campaign during TigerClan, but ShadowClan still respects Tigerstar for making them strong and feared again after the disasters that were Brokenstar's reign and the sickness during Nightstar's. And again, it helps a lot that the cats Tigerstar imprisoned during TigerClan were all RiverClan cats— not any of their own non-Clanborn Clanmates.
So that's Blackstar's attitude towards the situation. Leopardstar, though, certainly resents Blackstar for killing Stonefur, and she resents him even more for the fact that he's so indifferent about it lol.

Leaders Lives: Pinestar
Quite an odd case again, as his last life clung onto was the reason Sunstar got 0 lives, just like Nightstar of Shadowclan.
Anyways, you know that drill, order of lives gained, order lost and how they lost them! This one will be shorter than Blackstar's since Pinestar did get his all at once!
Pinestar's first life comes from Doestar, for Survival. She was a tough cat, but the Great Hunger and many battle wounds killed her early in WCR, especially since the Great Hunger is now 2 seasons.
His second life came from... Patchstar, Mapleshade's son. The kit that didn't make it was supposes to have become a kind, benevolent leader. Patchkit gives Pinestar a life for Judgement, and a vision of what happened to him and his siblings. When Pinestar asks what Clan Patchkit would have been leader of, Patchstar only responds: "Wouldn't you like to know?"
The third is Flashnose, with a life for Courage. The life frightens him with its intensity. She was always an intense cat in life, her death itself rocked him.
The fourth is Harepounce, with Loyalty as her life. Loyalty to your family and Clan, she says for your family is your Clan and your Clan IS your family.
His fifth life comes from Stagflight (a renamed Stagleap), who gives him a life for the Knowledge of War and Peace, and the understanding that both are a part of Clan culture, do not disregard them. Some things are WORTH fighting for.
Life number six is from Pearnose! Pearnose has a different story in WCR, she is still Thunderclan's medicine cat under Morningstar, but she organized a rebellion that got him (accidentally) killed, obviously not meaning for it to happen. She would get a sign later that would chose the next leader, and though that leader was her, she did not take the name Pearstar when she died. Anyways, she gives Pinestar a life for Trust, specifically Trusting Wisdom for Protection.
Life seven is for the Strength of a Nursing Queen, from the famous Patron of Youth, Daisytail. (She isn't related to Pinestar technically, but she is related to Oakstar's first mate, Shinecloud, and their kits, Frecklewish and Birchface. Irony, huh?)
Pinestar's eighth life comes from his older half-sister. The one and only Frecklewish. The life she gives him is for Making Difficult Choices. Pinestar cannot help but notice that her fur does not shine with starlight, though it does not the wounds that a Dark Forest warrior would normally have...
Pinestar's final life is from the legendary Morningstar. The life is for Compassion, something that was not valued when he had been leader. He takes it in fully, and promises to Morningstar that he will do his best.
As for order lost and how:
Harepounce - Loyalty - He lost this during the Great Hunger soon after he became leader. He lost it due to freezing, but feeling Harepounce starve to death through her own eyes rattled him completely. It was the catalyst.
Pearnose - Trusting Wisdom for Protection - He was hit by a monster while running from a Boar with Larksong and her apprentice, Flypaw. Seeing Pearnose's death through her eyes was strange, as she died from old age, but was oddly peaceful after the fear and adrenaline he had felt right before.
Flashnose - Courage - A bite wound from a fox got infected and took him down. Another horrible death, made worse now that Doestar is Flashnose's mother. Seeing her mother pass away made her weak, allowing sickness and hunger to take hold. The constant reminders of the Great Hunger drive Pinestar's anxiety through the roof.
Frecklewish - Making Difficult Choices - Greencough, the same that would kill many others causing a gap in youth that Bluekit and Snowkit would eventually need to fill in.
Morningstar - Compassion - A head wound inflicted by Hailstar during a battle for Sunningrocks. He got to see what had killed Morningstar, and vowed from that point on that he would walk Morningstar's peaceful path. When he awoke, he found that he was not the only casualty. The battle killed Eaglestorm as well.
Daisytail - Strength of a Nursing Queen - Greencough, but Pinestar refused to be treated until everyone else was first. Daisytail and Pinestar spoke briefly under a beautiful tree, and she told him that due to his actions, more of his clanmates would live. She is the Patron of Youth, specifically for protecting them.
Stagflight - Knowledge of War and Peace - Food poisoning during Bluestar's Prophecy. It is actually a few more cats who get hit with bad prey now, necessitating Brambleberry's visit.
Doestar - Survival - When Pinestar is struck by a car during Pinestar's Sorrow, he sees the old leader and picks her. They talk, with her pushing him to keep going, to stay with Thunderclan, to protect them from the dangers coming... And he snaps. It makes him completely lose faith in himself, leaving Thunderclan once and for all.
Patchstar - Judgement - When Pine is old, and weary, he get sick. He is taken to a vet, but he gets sicker. He gets lethargic, weak, and stops wanting to eat. His housefolk take him to a vet one final time as his kidneys finally give out, and, surrounded by love, seeing the spirit of Shanty, who passed away a year ago, he drifts off in their arms.
When Pinestar reaches Starclan, he is put on trial. Due to his actions, Sunstar was not able to earn any lives, and Thunderclan is at risk. However, his jury is an understanding one. They know how afraid he was, how much pressure he was under. Pinestar is given a prison sentence of 5 moons, getting out just in time to give Bluestar a life...

Who are your top two clan leaders and what abt them makes them ur faves... and also who's ur absolute least favorite leader out of them all n why?
well if u know me, first and foremost is blackstar. i have bias for him as a kid, and i love him conceptually now as well, acknowledging that some thoughts i have of him are from my own interpretation,
it's so tasty tho, I think i was definitely onto something when i was little. guy who supported both brokenstar and tigerstar rising to become leader and ultimately resolving to do a better job than the both of them? brokenstar was his old friend and he sincerely believed along with the rest of shadowclan that tigerstar could improve their odds? like cmon man. he has so much flavour to him,
and arguably he Did do better than the both of them, over a longer period of time. for one, not killing his own apprentices thru unjust practices, and thinking of his clan first over revenge or petty grievances. there were a lot of reasons for everyone from all three of the other clans to mistrust him, for what he did under both bad leaders, and he's the one who calls out lionblaze for being literally a murderer. and he Is. lionblaze sucks.
he aimed to steady out the life of shadowclan, and from what i remember, his arrogance took a back burner to consideration for his clan. strong but not cruel, as a group instead of individual. i think he succeeded in the end, up until he grew too weak to properly lead any longer,
tallstar, messy as he is, i still enjoy him a lot as a leader. windclan was put thru a lot very early on, and that would throw anyone's abilities into question, but he managed to keep everyone together long enough to return home. despite the rising xenophobia, he chose to hear out fireheart over resolving to battle w thunderclan in the middle of the first arc, and then later banded up to keep from being driven out again. he was a cool old man, making more choices on his own judgement than being pressured by his warriors, which i can't say the same for peaceful or resolute leaders like pine and sunstar,
special shout out to nightstar bc i like shadowclan, even if his leader status can be argued against. he was never accepted by starclan, but i like to think he maintained the position otherwise shadowclan cld have felt even more lost than they already did after brokenstar was driven out,
now for least favourite ... i have complicated feelings abt onestar. was he an interesting antagonist? yah, id say he was, but god damn did his decisions not seem utterly stupid at times. he was infinitely more interesting than mudclaw in the end, but in his aim to prove other cats wrong abt something that's objectively helped windclan in the past, he ruined a lot of his personal relationships in the process,
he was self-involved in a similar but opposing way to tallstar, where tallstar did act in self interest to hopefully benefit the clan, with his own biases in play, onestar sabotaged clan relations in some attempt to make himself out as stronger. he wanted to look better than someone who relied on outside help, but man.. he didn't need to do all that,
but he thought he did, bc of the whole undermining of mudclaws rebellion. he narrowly didn't become leader until the moonpool was founded, and there'd be a good chance the rebellion caused cats to continue to question his leadership even after it was squashed. it cld have all been in his own head tho; he knew the most how close he grew w firestar,
i think im also still sad how he did so much that his relationship w firestar became unsalvagable, even for fire. and then firestar died, w them as enemies. :(

TNP REWRITE REFS: Rowanclaw a dark ginger tabby cat with paler forepaws, underbelly and chin. They have black patches of fur scattered across their tail, mid-back, left shoulder, and left portion of their face. They have gold eyes and a speckled pink and black nose. Rowanclaw is the child of Darkflower and Scorchwind and is a well-respected young warrior of Shadowclan. They were mentored by Jaggedtooth and have served under Brokenstar, Nightstar, Tigerstar, and now currenlty Blackstar. Their brother is Cedarheart and their close friend is Tawnyshade

wait a minute
shadowclan was pissed at rowanstar because he was "weak" and felt like he gave them away to darktail and his rogues
including blackstar up in starclan
but like
BLACKSTAR DID THE EXACT SAME SHIT
ONLY BLACKSTAR WASN'T EVEN THREATENED WITH A WHOLE GROUP OF ENEMY CATS
IT WAS JUST ONE DUDE
THAT WE ALL KNOW NOW COULDN'T FIGHT HIS WAY OUT OF A PAPER BAG
these were also both times where a lot of shadowclan were having wavering belief/faith in starclan for
whatever reason
AND ALSO NIGHTSTAR DID THE SAME THING, HE MADE SOME OTHER CAT FROM A DIFFERENT CLAN (AND THEN A ROGUE) TAKE OVER SHADOWCLAN ALONG WITH BRINGING IN A BUNCH OF ROGUES JUST BECAUSE HE WAS CHARISMATIC AND SHADOWCLAN WAS SICK AND LOSING FAITH IN STARCLAN
THE EXACT SAME SHIT HAPPENED 3 LEADERS IN A ROW

so BYKTS has actually been a pretty easy write thus far, probably because I’ve spent years thinking about it so it’s not like I’m having to figure a lot of things out as I go.
except. now I’m at the point in the timeline where Tigerclaw becomes ShadowClan’s leader and Idk how Blackfoot feels about it. I think I’ve accidentally tempered Black’s ambition down a bit much; he comes across as a cat who just wants the best for ShadowClan, whatever that is, and he thinks that most of the time he’s the best cat to get them where they need to be, but he also needs a leader. he needs a leader.
this is a random comparison but I think about German Shepherds a lot and how, with the right training and the right owner, they are the most wonderful companions. they can be whatever you mold them to be as long as its done properly; loyal, obedient, protective; police dogs, scout dogs, seeing-eye dogs, war dogs, and faithful pets. but with the wrong upbringing they combust and become a danger not only to others, but to themselves. while they are independent dogs, they need the right kind of master.
and to a lesser extent, so does Blackfoot. he’s not born that way, he’s definitely manipulated and molded into Brokenstar’s perfect second-hand, and that explains a lot as the story goes on, especially once they’re in exile. he knows how to give his own orders and think for himself but he also feels like something is missing when he doesn’t have Brokenstar.
(I feel like I should clarify real quickly, I do Not mean any of this in a romantic sense.)
anyway I know the natural leap that his mind should make is ‘now that Brokenstar is dead, I’m next to lead ShadowClan’ but currently that’s not what happens. Blackfoot knows that his Clan is sick and dying and he’s more concerned with hunting for them and keeping them alive than thinking about if he will ever lead them. and maybe that’s where I’m feeling stuck, maybe I should have his mind make that natural leap. because what currently happens is that when Nightstar dies, and he doesn’t have a deputy appointed, he just doesn’t have time to think, ‘wait, does that make me leader’? Everything happens very quickly. He blinks and all of a sudden, Tigerclaw is leading ShadowClan and Blackfoot is his deputy.
so I guess Blackfoot doesn’t even know what to feel because he hasn’t had the time to think about ‘what happens if Nightstar dies’. it’s always been ‘keep ShadowClan alive’.
Blackfoot doesn’t mind Tigerclaw but it’s... complicated. he thought that Tigerclaw would be an asset to ShadowClan but I don’t think he would have brought him along if he knew that “StarClan” would choose him as ShadowClan’s next leader. he tries not to dwell on it much, but Blackfoot doesn’t really trust Tigerclaw. he respects him, he even likes him to an extent, but he doesn’t really trust him. but he tells himself that he does, because now Tigerclaw is his leader, and the word of a Clan leader is the warrior code, and Blackfoot has too much respect for the code and for StarClan to break it.
ugh. I’ll never forgive the Erins for not giving Blackstar an actual SE following this time period, it’s absolutely golden.

any changes to yellowfang’s siblings? a glance at the wiki (since i couldnt remember anything about them) says that rowanberry was clawface’s mate and that nutwhisker mentored blackstar.
Rowanberry is now the mother of Mintkit and Marigoldkit! Rowan and Nut are Yellow's younger siblings, where she's something like 13, they're 9. Brightflower and Brackenfoot are long dead of old age. Timeline fixes.
This means Clawface is probably looking at 7 or 8, which tracks. I want him to be more like he was described in TPB as the strongest and most respected normal warrior of ShadowClan.
Their older son Stumptail is also going to be surviving well past TNP, instead of dying in the Ratbite Epidemic as canon implies. He's a bit of a ditz and takes everything literally, but is well-meaning.
Marigold was poisoned by Runningnose to frame Yellowfang, both to get Yellowfang out of the way and also to get rid of a weak kit with no use. Mintpool was last seen as an early warrior taking part in the WindClan massacre, the same fight that kills Badgerfang. I'm not sure when Mint dies-- it's either that night, or during the plague Runny used to kill Nightstar later.
#Bonefall TPB#Mintpool is not going to go on to have kits of his own though. Stumptail will be keeping that line alive.#Mintpool's a cat I'm keeping track of for a good kill#Bonefall Rewrite#Brokenstar's Cataclysm

I think it’s about time for me to make a pinned post!
Hi there! I make cat drawings and sometimes bunny OCs too! I also REALLY love betta fish, so please send asks about betta care, colors/patterns, pictures of your bettas, or questions about mine!
Here’s my commission info :D
Please use he/him pronouns for me and call me Onion :) (Not my irl name, but anonymity is important!)
Here’s all my comics in order!!
Aaaand here’s my Artfight!
Some things to know about me:
- I draw almost exclusively with Google Drawings and have been doing so for about seven years now! If you ever need help with anything regarding Google Drawings, I can probably assist you.
- The colors in my art might look a bit... off? This is because I always have blue shade on. Basically what it does is make everything orangey for me, so it can be a bit hard to get the right colors.
- My only fandoms are Warriors and Pokemon, so if that’s what you want then you’re in luck!
My sideblogs are @google-drawings-warriors (alphabetical Warriors designs), @thewarrencomic (where I reblog my OC stuff), @stan-diesel-wc (where I reblog wc art from small artists), and @sakew-region (where I post about my Fakemon region).
I try to trigger tag stuff, but if I miss something then please let me know! All of my text posts should be tagged with “onion peels”.
Warriors characters I love/just find interesting: Flywhisker, Cloverfoot, Whitethroat, Diesel, Blackstar, Nightstar, Ravenpaw, Barley, Graypool, Squirrelflight, Crookedstar, Oakheart, Briarlight, Turtle Tail, Gray Wing, Flipclaw, Brambleberry (here’s a whole bunch of them from when I took the favorite cat picker!)
My favorite ships: Ravenbarley, Firesand, Brightcloud, Hollywillow, Violettree, Featherfern, Talljake, Fallingdappled (Falling Feather x Dappled Pelt), Grayturtle (Gray Wing x Turtle Tail), Crookedwillow

anyway have some major points from my "Warrior Cats Rewrite" outline. long story short im rewriting the entire series bc i can, feel free to suggest things youd like to see :)
Overall:
-Please note that some of these bullet points dont make sense in the order theyre in bc i forgot to put them in chronological order and didnt have much time to fix it
-Each book has a different protag in a different Clan
-Some names, families, and pelt colours will all be switched around/changed
-Some characters will be aged up or down depending on when it makes sense to me for them to be born
-StarClan is fucking powerless. Instead these fiesty battlecats have a religion similar to greeks, with their main gods are based around the moon. Its considered super lucky for a kit to be born under a full moon, and naming a cat/kit "Moon-" is considered super disrespectful and can get both kit and mother shunned by the Clan or exiled
-WindClan never stopped tunneling
-Oakheart is still alive
-Assume no cats are related unless I state otherwise
-Lostsong, Wildblaze, Ferncloud, Ashfur, Brambleflower, and Tawnystorm are all related (Bramble, Tawny, Ash, Fern have the same father, Wild, Lost, Bramble, Tawny have the same mother)
-Acorn and Squirrel are Dust/Sand's kits, though they 2 are no longer mates
-The medicine cats cant have mates or kits rule is thrown out the window bc its stupid
Name Changes:
-Brambleclaw -> Brambleflower
-Tawnypelt -> Tawnystorm
-Sandstorm -> Sandstrike
-Firestar -> Sparkfern
-Leafpool -> Acornleaf
-Brightheart -> Lostsong
-Yellowfang -> Mirestorm
-Ravenpaw -> Ravensight
-Swiftpaw -> Wildblaze
1st arc (The prophecies begin):
- Protags are Sparkfern (ThunderClan, book 1), Yellowfang (ShadowClan, Book 2), Mistyfoot (RiverClan, book 3), Tallstar (WindClan, book 4), Tigerclaw (Book 5)
-1st book goes more or less the same with only minor changes until you reach the point where Sparkpaw was supposed to run into Mirestorm
-In this rewrite Brokenstar "out of the good of his heart" allows Mirestorm to stay in ShadowClan under 2 conditions. She gives up being a medicine cat and goes back to being a warrior, and she isnt allowed anywhere without a guard. She accepts
-Tigerclaw goes through with the plan to kill Ravenpaw but fails. Ravenpaw, terrified for his life, decides to switch to being a medicine cat
-WindClan hasn't been driven out, but only because Tallstar gave ShadowClan a good half of their territory
-Tigerclaw doesn't try any backhanded traps like the thunderpath one
-That being said, Cinderpaw still gets caught on the Thunderpath bc she wasnt paying attention to where she was going
-She still goes back to warrior training though bc this ThunderClan doesn't discriminate
-All the ShadowClan stuff happens a bit later than it does in canon
-Spottedleaf lives, but she's fucked up really bad (Blind in left eye, intense scarring on face and right side, unable to use back leg without pain, etc etc) and decides to demote herself as a medicine cat and mkve to the elder's den
-Ravenpaw still isn't fully trained, so ThunderClan enlists Barkface's help
-Ravenpaw ends up being named Ravensight sometime around the middle of the 3rd book
-Sparkpaw becomes Sparkfern around halfway through the book bc i dont try to pack what should be a month of buildup into 2 days so theres timeskips when theres nothing happening
-Sandpaw and Dustpaw become Sandstrike and Dustpelt before Sparkfern and Greystripe because they were apprentices for longer
-Tigerclaw kills Sparkfern by the end of book 1
-Tigerclaw tries to kill Bluestar, but she runs out of the den and Tigerclaw gets exiled
-Mirestorm decides to say fuck it and in book 2 pushes Brokenstar into the gorge in RiverClan territory
-After Redtail's death Whitestorm is made deputy
-Since WindClan never needed to be brought back Whiteclaw is alive now too
-Instead of Nightstar, after Brokenstar's death Blackfoot becomes Blackstar
- Whitestorm ends up getting killed so Sandstrike is made deputy
-On that note since Sparkfern is dead Sandstrike was Cinderpelt's mentor
-Both Swiftpaw and Brightpaw live, but both are heavily scarred and are renamed Deadspot and Lostface by Buestar
-Tigerclaw still leads the dogs onto ThunderClan territory, but instead of coming up with the canon plan they all live in fear until RiverClan decides that this is painful to watch and help out
-Deadspot and Lostface end up having a 2nd run in with the dogs and Bluestar looses her last life saving them
-Sandstar renames them Wildblaze and Lostsong
-ThunderClan don't actually hate Bramble and Tawny for being Tiger's kits, but they both feel irrationally guilty about it and that causes just as much of a strain
-Brambleflower is the one who leaves ThunderClan this time, while Tawnystorm stays
-Silverstream and Greystripe never get together. Feathertail and Stormfur are Silver and WhiteClaw's kits
-Also Leopardstar dies earlier and Stonefur becomes Stonestar
-Tigerclaw takes control of BloodClan and renames himself Tigerstar
-When Tigerstar tries to take over ShadowClan Blackstar tells him no
-Tigerstar tries approaching Stonestar for an alliance and the whole "shun half clan cats" thing, not knowing that Stonestar is a half clan cat (Bluestar still told both Mistyfoot and Stonefur the truth) and Stonefur tells him to get fucked
-tigerstar decides to merge with WindClan instead
-The whole fourtrees stand off still happens, but Brambleflower kills Tigerstar (who due to being a faux leader and not going to the moonstone only has one life)
2nd arc (The New Prophecy):
-Protags are Brambleflower (ShadowClan, book 1), Feathertail (RiverClan, book 2), Crowpaw (WindClan, book 3), Tawnystorm (ThunderClan, book 4), Nightcloud (WindClan, book 5)
-The cats that go on the quest are Tawnystorm, Brambleflower, Feathertail, Crowpaw, Squirrelflight, and Nightpaw (Nightcloud)
-Squirrel (who was born earlier than in canon and is therefor now already a warrior) follows Tawny on the quest
-Squirrel has a puppy crush on Tawny and she makes this fact painfully clear
-Nightpaw follows Feather around like a lost dog
-Crowpaw ends up dying instead of Feathertail bc Nightpaw was in danger
-Nightpaw becomes Nightcloud after the journey and develops a crush on Acornleaf
-She's torn between the two until she realizes Acorn doesnt feel the same about her (Acornleaf is in love with Mothwing in this rewrite bc i said so)
-Nightcloud is briefly devastated but then realizes that this makes things so much easier for her and starts dating Feathertail
-Tawny and Squirrel get together after 4 1/2 whole books of obvious pining
-Daisy is still there, but she only has one kit as the others have died (The living kit is Berrynose, now renamed Hay)
-Daisy gets in a relationship with Lostsong and Cloudtail bc thats my OT3 and bc i said so
-After loosing Hazel and Mouse she finds that she can't bring herself to get too attached to Hay so Tawny and Squirrel adopt him and Daisy just becomes that cool aunt™
-Insert a good 7 pages of Bramble freaking out that he's an uncle now
-Hawkfrost is still evil and traps Sandstar in a fox trap, but Mothwing kills him this time.
-Mothwing ends up badly injured from her fight with Hawkfrost and Acornleaf takes care of her
-Stormfur ends up dying
-Feathertail leaves RiverClan to be with Nightcloud
-Daisy/Lostsong/Cloudtail end up having Whitekit (wing), Rosekit (petal), and Honeykit (flower)
-Acornleaf and Mothwing become mates at one point and love each other very very much
-Mothwing is trans (comfort hc ive had aince forever, not purely for the sake of her and Acorn having bio kits i promise) and her and Acorn end up having Swanblaze (Hollyleaf) and Goldenfern (Lionblaze)
-since both Moth and Acorn are their Clan's only medicine cat neither can join the other's clan so Moth takes Swan and Acorn takes Golden
-a good 7 moon timeskip between arc 2 book 5 and arc 3 book 1
3rd arc (Power of Three):
-Protags are Mothwing (RiverClan, book 1), Crowstorm (WindClan, book 2), Goldenfern (ThunderClan, book 3), Littlecloud (ShadowClan, book 4), Swanblaze (RiverClan, book 5)
-[Everything that follows happens between TPB and the beginning of PO3]
-Since there's no "medicine cats cant have kits or mates" rule its common knowledge that Swan and Golden are Moth and Acorn's kits
-On RiverClan's side Graymist (who becomes a queen earlier here for the sake of convenience) nursed Swan alongside Sneeze and Mallow. Besides the feeding Swan spent most of her time hanging around and playing with Motha
-On ThunderClan's side, since Rosepetal is the medicine cat apprentice, Leafpool nurses and raises Golden. The entire Clan treats him like their kit though, especially his aunts Tawnystorm and Squirrelflight
-[Everything that happens this point happens in the actual arc]
-The 3 are Swanblaze, Goldenfern, and Crowstorm (Night and Feather's adopted son. He counts as part of the 3 bc Redtail (Sand's father) was half WindClan in this rewrite and his WindClan father also had Night and Crow's mother
-While both Swan and Golden knew they had a sibling in another Clan, they didnt officially meet until their 2nd gathering, when Moth and Acorn intoduced them to eachother
-Swanpaw met Crowpaw when Crow was chasing a rabbit and couldn't stop himself from falling into the river.
-Mothwing, who had taken Swanpaw on an outing to help her collect herbs, ended up saving him and bringing him back to camp while they waited for WindClan to come back and get him
-While Crow is intended to be Jayfeather's replacement here, he isn't blind. He is, however, deaf. He's still training to be a warrior though bc fuck canon
-Night, Feather, and Crow developed a sort of cat sign language they spread to WindClan to help make it easier for Crow
-It eventually ended up spreading to Bramble and Moth, who spread it to their Clans
-Different powers and shit
-Swan has a sort of foresight. She can tell whats going to happen a few moments before it happens. While she brushes it off as good instincts, when she develops it more later in the series her foresight stretches up to a moon in advance
-Golden still has super strength. He aint invincible tho cuz that was a horeible plot point
-Crow can see and speak to ghosts in the living world. Not just StarClan or dead cats, but any dead animal. If he wants to speak to a dead fox he 100% can
-The 3 still know about the prophecy due to Swan training as a med cat and accidently getting it (She eventually ends up dropping it and Willowshine becomes the med app instead)
-Sol comes in and then the eclipse happens
-Golden and Crow are 100% ready to trust this strange cat they met 2 days ago but Swan is like yo dudes wtf
-That whole plot point happens, Sol tries to go to ShadowClan, but Blackstar tells him to fuck off so he does
-Swanpaw ends up accidently killing him (tried to threaten him into leaving the Clans alone using the dunk and let breathe method, ended up drowning him). The guilt she feels from it is what causes her to drop being a medicine cat apprentice and become a warrior.
-Ashfur still had a crush on Squirrel and is extremely jealous of Tawny. He tries the whole fire scene thing with Haynose, but before he's even halfway done with his monologue he stops for 3 seconds, looks around him, and realizes just what the fuck he's trying to do
-He helps Squirrel and Hay out of the fire, apologizes profusely, and turns himself in to Sandstar, accepting whatever punishment she gives him
-Bramble 100% visits both Hay and Swan at least once a week. Sand and Stone have realized by now that stopping him wont work so they just allow it
-There's no huge gathering scene this time because there isn't a big secret to tell
-The arc does end, however, with Swan finding Stonestar's lifeless body laying in his den
4th arc (Omen of the Stars):
-[NOTE: This section is unfinished due to lack of ideas]
-The whole Stonestar's dead body thing is going to be addressed, but i just dont have any ideas for that so its not addressed for now
- Dove and Ivy are both spoiled rotten by their aunts and grandparents
-As such Dove gains a sorta "entitled" attitude. Like not full tantrum entitled, but getting moody/snappy when she doesnt get what she wants
-Ivy is the same way, just a bit less snapping and a bit more silent treatment
-Brambleflower!!!! Has kits!!! With Rowanclaw!!!
-Yes, I am a big fan of the trans Rowanclaw hc
-I am giving Bramble Tawny's canon mate
-why?
-bc its what he deserves
-Anyway, Their kits are Brindlekit/heart (Tigerheart), Dawnkit/shade (Dawnpelt), and Russetkit/tail (Flametail), who I am aging down bc in canon these 3 already have their full names
-Tawny and Squirrel 100% babysit from time to time
-Dark forest trainees stay the same, but this time add in Dovewing, Bumblestripe and Briarlight
-Haven't read, unable to make an outline
-Briarlight didnt make it in time to push Longtail out of the way, so Briarlight isnt paralyzed and Longtail is dead
-Bumblestripe still has a crush on Dovewing, but is way more lowkey and less "creepy" about it
-Swanblaze becomes mates with Minnowtail
-Acornleaf dies in the Last Hope
-So do Brambleflower, Goldenfern, Honeyfur, Graymist, Spiderleg, Applefur, Olivenose, Redwillow, Ferretclaw, Tallpoppy, Whitetail, Heathertail, Reedwhisker, Robinwing, Mosspelt, Pouncetail, and Dovewing
5th arc (A Vision of Shadows):
-[NOTE: This section is empty due to me not having finished this arc.]
6th arc (The Broken Code):
-[NOTE: This section is empty due to me not having read this arc]
#submission#off topic#yes i am rewriting the whole series#why? you might be asking#and bc it gives me an excuse to reread every book in the series a good 100 times :)#< tags added by submitter

I am 👀 at Milktail
please tell me more about her
Milktail
My Enemy Milktail!
Tw for kidnapping
A pure white molly with green eyes, shredded ears, and heavy scarring on her back leg. Born in Shadowclan under Brokenstar's leadership to another OC, Frostwave. Frostwave only had a single kitten, and although she did not approve of Brokenstar's methods of... Acquiring more... She would never say no to another mouth to feed. And Brokenstar knew it.
He took kittens from Rogue groups, and personally indoctrinated some. Spiderclaw, Batclaw, Oakstripe, Lizardsong and Nestfur are all examples. Each one turned out differently...
The other is Elmfeather, or Elmkit as he was known when he was small.
Elmkit was passed off to Frostwave when he was brought to Shadowclan's camp, and she immediately took him in. Milk-kit... Hated him. She didn't like that he was getting her mother's attention. Then it turned into this outsider getting her mother's attention...
She is made Milkpaw by Nightstar and assigned to Scorchwind. Scorchwind... Ain't great. He supported Brokenstar for the most part (which is hilarious seeing as his wife cheated on him with the guy). He teaches Milktail to channel her anger into strength, that she has the "right" to be angry over her brother.
Before he tells her about cuckoo birds. Anyways, how about we go on a border patrol?
She is named Milktail by Tigerstar when he takes power. She fully supports Tigerclan, and hopes it will mean the death of her brother.
Nevermind that she has new siblings, Nightkit (Nightwing) and Wildkit (Wildfur), and Frostwave has just died from sickness. Nevermind that two of her siblings, Woodkit and Silverkit, died in that same sickness, the 4 born far too early. She doesn't care. All she can think about is what her "fake brother" has 'stolen' from her.
Elmfeather has done nothing wrong, but it doesn't matter. She hates him.
Elmfeather flees to Thunderclan, and after Tigerclan falls apart, she goes to the newly appointed Blackstar, and begs for forgiveness. "Blinded by hatred" she says to him. She won't ever let it happen again. Shadowclan is her truest love, and she only wishes to still be part of it.
In his defense, she was popular. She was liked. She was forming a bond with Daykit, Flintfang and Fidgetflower's little one. When Daykit was made into Daypaw, they were given to Milktail, as a sign of good will towards her. She had Shadowclan fooled.
She remained good with Daypaw, teaching them lots of battle tricks and hunting tips, strict but on her best behavior. Daypaw became Daywhisker, and Milktail never spoke to them again.
She is made Deputy after the retirement of Boulder during Starlight.
She lured Blackstar into a double trap with the help of Mistfang, Tigerstar's sister, who got Ashfur to help them out.
Firestar and Blackstar were shoved into fox traps, Birchpaw gets Brambleclaw to come to the lakeshore, but he bumps into Elmfeather on the way. Elmfeather, having mentored Sootfur after Longtail was blinded, has also qualified for deputy, not that he wants it...
And Brambleclaw freezes. In the Chaos, Elmfeather explodes out of the bushes, snarling at his sister. She immediately flares with rage, fighting with him. The two grapple, biting and clawing one another until...
Elmfeather forces Milktail backwards, dunking her head into the water and nearly drowning her. She plays possum one last time, but when she springs back up, Elmfeather is prepared, and her throat meets his teeth.
Blood is spilling Blood, and when Milktail falls back into the water, the Lake begins to turn pink.
She goes to the Dark Forest, Mistfang not far behind her. They walk together in darkness until Tigerstar calls on them.
Later, during The Great Battle, Milktail gets one last showdown with Elmfeather, now older and grayer. She brutally wounds him but manages to get an upper hand on her, chasing her to Riverclan land and catching up with her, rolling them until he is on top of her, the soft riverbank partially giving way, making them slide back. Milktail's head dunking into the water, Elmfeather pushing forward and finally drowning her in the river. Her oily black blood runs through the river and into the Lake once more. The last thing she sees is Elmfeather's eyes, full of disappointment.
He wanted a sister.

So Blackstar being made leader always bugged me So Much, so here’s some Thoughts on that and how I would do it differently.
Blackfoot was not appointed Deputy by either Brokenstar or Tigerstar because they thought he would make a good successor. Blackfoot was chosen because he was both physically powerful and easy to control. He isn’t very smart; he’s a good hunter and fighter, but he lacks critical thinking and tends to be a bully. Which makes him a great second in command for a tyrant; he’s physically powerful enough to enforce your commands but he’s not an actual threat to your authority.
All that to say, Blackfoot is not a good leader and everyone knows it (except Blackfoot himself. He thinks he’s hot shit)
Blackfoot is only made leader by necessity, because the line of succession must be upheld. We know Starclan refuses to give Nightstar his lives, and I propose that it’s not only because Brokenstar is still alive, but also because Starclan will not approve a leader who was not made deputy by their predecessor. That would of course mean Tigerstar doesn’t get his nine lives, but personally I think the fact that he was ever able to lead Shadowclan at all is ridiculous.
So I propose this: Thunderclan allows Shadowclan to execute Brokenstar once Nightstar reveals that Starclan will not bless a new leader while the old one is still alive (why were they so hell bent on keeping him alive anyway? That was dumb, he killed babies guys wtf) but when Nightstar once again travels to the moon pool, he’s still turned away. Blackfoot is the only cat who can receive Starclans blessing as Brokenstars chosen successor. Brokenstar not only destroys Shadowclan from the inside, but leaves them with an impossible choice: break the line of succession and never have a leader with nine lives again, putting them at a severe disadvantage, or make Blackfoot leader. (As an aside they wouldn’t even know where Blackfoot is at this point, he was chased out with Brokenstar and hasn’t returned)
Someone points out the obvious solution: hunt down Blackfoot, give him his nine lives, force him to appoint Nightstar deputy, and execute him. While some cats agree, no one is really comfortable with that. Nightstar, as angry as he is with the whole situation, reminds them that Blackfoot was not any more able to disobey his leader than the rest of them. The warrior code states that your leaders word is law; no one in Shadowclan spoke out against Brokenstar. By the time they realized how dangerous and destructive he was, he’d already worn Shadowclan down to practically nothing, and it took Thunderclan stepping in for them to get rid of him. The only reason Blackfoot is being faced with the possibility of execution is because he was made deputy; at this point he hasn’t committed any more crimes than anybody else in Shadowclan. He doesn’t deserve to die for a choice he didn’t even make. No one wants him as leader, but no one really wants to kill him either.
Breaking the line is essentially out of the question, but they don’t even know if Blackfoot is still alive. For the time being, Nightstar is acting leader, and Shadowclan is broken and vulnerable.
Enter Tigerclaw and his rogues, including, of course, Blackfoot. Shadowclan welcomes them in not because a former Thunderclan rogue earns their trust (they may not know why he was exiled, but that is not a lightly given sentence. Any cat with half a brain knows not to trust him) but because their only hope of recovering as a clan is with them and alive.
Nightstar explains to Blackfoot privately that because he was Brokenstars appointed deputy, he will be receiving his nine lives and will appoint Nightstar as his deputy to preserve the line of succession, but Nightstar will be Shadowclans acting leader, as decided by the clan. Blackfoot agrees, on the condition that the other rogues can stay. He’s just happy to be home; it’s obvious none of them were doing well as rogues. They’re all a little too skinny, a little too dirty, and so tired.
This arrangement doesn’t last long. Nightstar dies of illness, and while Blackfoot originally agreed to formally appoint Cinderfur as his deputy and acting leader, but he’s had Tigerclaw in his ear. He has all the power; Shadowclan is desperate to keep the line of succession in tact and they have nothing to leverage against him. He appoints Tigerclaw his deputy, and there’s two ways we could go from here, depending on whether or not preserving the canonical line of leadership is important to you.
Tigerclaw immediately kills Blackstar, becoming Shadowclans leader as in the books. He appoints Cinderfur his deputy to appease Shadowclan, essentially convincing them that he’s done them a favor by eliminating Blackstar, who had become power hungry and tainted with the same darkness as Brokenstar. No one trusts him fully, but they’ve been living with him for many moons now, and many of them consider him a friend and a member of Shadowclan. As with Blackstar, they don’t want to kill him, even if it would finally lay the whole ordeal to rest. Tigerstar is a good leader for a long time, even longer than we see in the original books. He rebuilds Shadowclan, and several generations of apprentices have become warriors by the time he makes any further moves.
By the time he moves to create Tigerclan, he’s been Shadowclans leader for several years, and a good leader for all of it. Shadowclan has always been the worst off of the four clans; they have the least prey, the smallest territory, and many of their warriors have now grown up being pitied by the other clans for what Brokenstar did. But they’re strong now, and they deserve better. Things proceed essentially as they did in the books from there, except Cinderfur does her best to just. Stay out of Tigerstars way. She doesn’t support him, but she can’t oppose him either; if he replaces her as deputy, there isn’t any hope of restoring the clans to four individuals again. If he decides she’s too much trouble, he could denounce both her and Riverclans deputy, appointing one Tigerclan deputy and essentially fusing the two clans permanently in Starclans eyes.
Eventually Tigerstar is killed, and Cinderfur becomes Cinderstar, and finally Shadowclans leadership nightmare is at an end.
If you care about the line staying the same, which is fair cause Blackstar had some interesting plots with Sol and such later on, then Tigerclaw somehow doesn’t kill Blackfoot and just becomes acting leader; maybe he figures Blackfoot will die on his own, or values him as a bargaining chip and second in command enough to keep him, I dunno.

TNP REWRITE REF: Boulder
a heavy set, thick furred solid gray tom. he has thick, pink scars across his left leg, shoulder, and stomach, as well as his muzzle. He has yellow eyes.
Boulder is an older warrior of ShadowClan and a former member of Bloodclan. He has served under Raggedstar, Brokenstar, Nightstar, Tigerstar, and Blackstar. His kits are now warriors among the clan, despite no one knowing their mother. They were fostered by Tallpoppy, and Nightwing and Wildfur are now warriors. Boulder is very close with his kits, and happy to help Nightwing raise her kits.
