the first time you decide to wear something to match him is when he puts on that yellow, grey, and white striped polo that you hated on the hanger but that looks so good on him that you wanted to sink to your knees and greyish tan straight-leg chinos

and he looked so fucking good when he left the house this morning and you were salivating like the thirsty hussy you are

you get dressed in a yellow ribbed cotton button-down spaghetti strap dress and it fits over your curves like a second skin

you go about your business of running errands and by the time you come home, lloyd is on the couch again enjoying a lowball of D'USSÉ XO with his feet up on the table in those god awful mocassins that you wish he would get rid of for a sexier shoe but whatever

you drop your new bags of clothing and come over to straddle Daddy's lap, adjusting your dress so that the opening of buttons is right at your apex

A New Look?

Alternative title: What I would give genshin guys to wear

Basically Reverse isekai but now you gotta make normal outfits for the characters so they don't stick out like a sore thumb. It can also be read as modern AU outfits if you prefer

Characters in order:

Heizou, Xiao, Albedo, Zhongli, Wanderer, Kaeya, Venti, Ayato, Diluc, Kazuha

Honestly heizou would be an easy pick. Old fashioned British detective style. Sherlock Holmes, trench coats, shades of brown, all that jazz. Also, give him access to true crime podcasts, he'll never be bored again. 

I'd give xiao the ol' hot topic skater fit. Black, band tees, lots of rings and jewelry, fake pieces, ripped jeans, yeaa. It matches his personality too. Not with fashion but if you do get band t shirts tell him alot about said band just incase one of those "name five members or your not a true fan" people talk to him. 

Albedo gets the light academia scholar outfits. Kinda chill, collared shirts, lighter colors, shades of brown and blue. Some gold every once in a while. Loose fitting stuff. Flowy sleeves. Lots of rings. Maybe one or two gold necklaces that he wears every once in a while. The type of outfits you see those aesthetic college student wearing. Maybe a bit of cottagecore. Lots of white shirts. 

Zhongli would look like that one professor that everybody has a crush on tbh. Not as formal as what he wears in game but still, collared shirts, suits once in a while, always wears a tie, owns one dark brown trench coat that he wears everywhere at all costs. Lots of darker browns with gold accents here and there. Not a necklace kinda guy but wears a good amount of rings. Totally has reading glasses. Has alot of custom hair pins for some reason? Idk I just feel like he does. Has 100 pairs of dress shoes, and like one pair of black boots. Nothing else. Also If you give him his own closet it's so organized. Spotless, everything fits in the closet right, its honestly impressive. 

Wanderer would be alot like Xiao. Hot topic's no. 1 customer. He'd have more of a blue and purple color scheme than black though. Actually listens to all the bands he has shirts of. Big punk fan. Wears this one black beanie with a skull on it basically every day. His shoe game is good, like really good. Had alot of platform shoes so he can look taller. Lots of cropped shirts that looked ripped. No long sleeves, short sleeves and sleeveless tees. An absolute MASTER at makeup, specifically eyeliner. Lotsssss of turtlenecks. 

Ooohoho now Kaeya would be f u n to style. Has a more simple style. Those pinterest dudes?? Yeah, think of that. Plain colored shirts, turtlenecks alot, almost never sleeveless. Lots of long sleeves stuff.

Give him one of those black corsets that I always see, since he wears one on his original outfit. Wears necklaces, but doesnt layer them or anything. One simple necklace at a time. A TON of silver rings. Hes got those pinterest guy hands. Wears sheer black gloves. Has this one cropped blue jacket but it's more of a sweater and he always wears it when layering clothing. 

Hanging earrings are necessary for him. Has a belt with a snowflake design on it that he uses alot. Almost never wears sweaters. Wears blue, grey, and black almost religiously. 

Ahhh venti :) Think similar to albedos but more Victorian than college student vibes. Again, long sleeves, flowy, lotssss of ruffles, has a generous amount of green accents. Has this one emerald necklace that resembles a vision somewhat and he adores it. Never takes it off. Not a giant ring person, but has around a thousand hats. Paper boy hats in green, might own a bucket hat or two? Hes got the whole hat-universe. Always wear white socks that go just below his knees with EVERYTHING. Has multiple pairs and some are a bit more sheer than the others. Has a pair or two of white fingerless gloves to wear with long sleeves, and full, white and sheer gloves he wears when he isnt wearing long sleeves. White button ups are his life. Usually doesnt tuck said button ups in.   (Totally not a walking mitski reference) 

Ayato isnt THAT complex. And he's got similar style to Zhongli, but complety different color schemes. Wears suits often, and they follow a pattern. White shirt, black tie, light blue suit jacket. The icon of white pants, he basically never wears anything else. For smaller accessories they're usually dark blue or black in color. Not a ring person either, but wears one or two black rings occasionally. Has earrings but not dangly ones. Just black studs. Has alot of dark blue hair pins to keep his hair back. Theres no way his hair naturally just stays that way ok?? Every single boba place within 40 miles knows his name and face by memory. Wears the same looking black shoes all the time. 

Diluc is probably another trench coat kinda guy. Less suits, more trench coats for him. In the fancy looking suit and tie gang with Ayato and Zhongli. Usually wears black button ups instead of white ones, with a crimson red tie and a brown trench coat, or a white tie and a darker red coat. Totally not an accessories guy. No necklaces, earrings, and maybe just one single gold rings he wears once every century. Another black shoes only person. I feel like the coats he wear have some fur on them in places. Just a thought. Always carries around like 3 extra hair ties in his pocket just in case he need one. 

Kazuha is a comfy clothing icon. Not one for a thousand things on his outfits for aesthetic purposes, just wears what he likes and adds accessories if he feels like it.  And absolute king of the fall outfit aesthetic. Outfits usually consists of slightly baggy autumn colored shirts, always short sleeves. Sweatpants or just light colored/bleached cuffed jeans. (Yes I said CUFFED) And occasionally has a darker colored orange and red knit sweater over him. Probably has one or two necklaces on at a time. Always wears this one necklace with a gold chain and a maple leaf charm on it. A gold colored accessories person. Most of the rings he has are gold. Has his ears pierced and usually wears black or gold studs. Sonetimes he wears dangly earrings but nothing to crazy. Ties his hair back a lot less.

Some notes/personal observations under the cut:

ICHIKA

flannel, flannel, flannel. (plaid?)

almost always has flannel over a t-shirt.

if not flannel, throw a hoodie or jacket on top. she has a lot of different jackets.

jeans enjoyer, but also leggings.

sleeps with shorts and a hoodie/long-sleeved shirt.

color-wise, think greys and blues, maybe an accent red. She's pretty consistent in what she wears tbh.

SAKI

I actually don't think we have a ton of art of her but here we go:

Kind of similar to Tsukasa in that her main casual fit (the one we see on the 2D live model) has a sweater. She also seems to be a sweater-vest enjoyer.

Has two different pieces of art with the plaid dress.

skirts and shorts enjoyer. You don't really see her in pants. (Maybe a reminder of the hospital?)

color-wise, she's a pink but also cream/beige fan. and of course yellow.

NOTE! Saki likes trying out different hair styles and styling her friends' hair! This would be fun to play around with!!

HONAMI

There's actually a lot more art of her in the white turtleneck + brown dress as opposed to the outfit she wears on her 2D live.

Simple necklace fan.

Sweater lover, especially turtlenecks.

Pair this with a dress and tights. You don't often see her in pants.

Skirts usually fall at or past her knees (except her unit outfit).

Colors are white, beige, brown, and some dark grey-navy blue. Doesn't actually wear red very often.

(Note: Sorry for how messy this reference is. Honami has so much art where she's placed diagonally so it gets weird trying to arrange it neatly.)

SHIHO

Surprisingly, I think she has the most color variety. Usually wears, green, white, and black, but also has pieces of clothing that are purple or red.

She and Ichika are the pant wearers! There is practically no art of Shiho in a skirt.

Also a hoodie/jacket enjoyer, but in a cool way, y'know?

Most likely out of all the L/N girls to be wearing a short-sleeved shirt. /hj.

Standard fit for Shiho seems to be t-shirt with another button down over it (or a hoodie!) and black/dark colored pants.

NOTE!! The girls have worn matching outfits and have matching star bracelets before, which you can see on Ichika's Star Piece Connection untrained card. In this card, they wear the matching/color-coordinated star bracelets and (presumably) are all wearing white t-shirts and shorts with jackets matching their respective colors. (I actually think the types of jackets they wear/how they styled them is supposed to be representative of their unit outfit but anyway-) Including the bracelets might be fun!

I've been too spoiled XDDD

Ngl, I have been thoroughly spoiled by almost 20 years of playing WoW, because as much adore and respect as I have for Larian and BG3, I would really have loved if the armor had reflected the areas where you got them Act 1 took place out in the wilderness, and the only semi-civilized parts were either in the Grove or the Goblin Camp. It would have been so cool to have any armor/equipment you bought from those merchants to have been themed by them. The Grove armor could have been very druidic-looking: lots of leather, bark, leaves, vines, a kind of blending of traditional clothing with the surrounding nature they were made from. The Goblin camp could have had pieces influenced by Goblin culture; lots of tribal-looking outfits, heavy Worg and other animal leathers, warpaints, animal teeth to give an imposing and spiky appearance, even a skull/bone or two. Or even just imagine finding a few hidden gems in the Zhentarim hideout that will now never make it to the city or whoever ordered it!

The Mountain Pass could have been interesting too! Since we have a location further from any towns/major cities, yet there was the Creche that was hiding beneath the Rosymourn Monestary. It could have been so cool to find armor/robes leftover from the monestary's hayday: Flowing robes of red/gold/orange/pink/yellow/black and all of them adorned with Lythander iconography, old plate and chainmail that appear cracked and broken but when exposed to the light the cracks glow with power to protect the wearer

The Underdark... man the outfits could have been so damn cool here! An area that embraces the beauty found within the darkness, armor found at the Selunite outpost could have been dripping in the stars and crescents of its patron goddess, adorned in shades of blue with brilliant, shining silvers. Anything found at the Myconid colony could have looked old, of course, as if found left behind by either unfortunate or passing through adventurers, but covered with glowing fungus of all colors. Left over armor from Drow encounters could have been draped in pearlescent blacks, blues, pinks and greens, and much of it could be found with either Lolth or Elistree iconography as a nod to the warring goddesses. Elistree armor could be similar, but on the opposite side of the spectrum. Where Lolth armor could have been dark, Elistree's armor could be more traditionally pearlescent, with white/ivory as the base, with shining pastel pinks, blues, purples, and greens, with some black/grey/silver/gold accents

Act 2 could have been SUCH a fashion feast for the eyes... Any armor/robes found here could have looked just as shadow-touched as the land you found it in. Robes could have ended in scorch-looking marks, but almost appear to be still burning with the teal glow of the surrounding corruption. Plate and chainmail found around Reithwynn could have patches of flaking corruption, all of it with old iconography of either the Harpers or Shar. Anything from Shar's Gauntlet could look to even have a certain shadowy darkness in and of itself, making it perfect for those who value silence and stealth. Anything from Moonrise would be covered in icons of the Absolute, with hints at the secrets hidden under the towers as parts of the armor/weapons could appear almost flesh-like or with tentacles

Rivington is just outside Baldur's Gate, and as such would defs be along a heavily used road for travelers and traders as they make their way into the city. Astarion was sad to not have found any leftover Cormian silks in the Reithwynn tollhouse, but maybe they could have been found here! Traders with wagons of merchandise from all along the Sword Coast and further growing impatient with the Flaming Fist not allowing them entry into the city, so they start selling to everyone else who can't get in. Silks from Cormir, lovely bright-colored dyes and jewelry from Ahm, robes and leathers from Candlekeep and Waterdeep get Gale talking about how much he enjoyed going shopping with his mother as a young lad and how he'd love to do the same with Tav. Karlach, Lae'zel, and Shadowheart looking through armor merchants and giving their opinions on what would be best against a particular foe. Astarion and Wyll inspecting and commenting on blades from as far north as Neverwinter and Luskan. A secret Evereskan merchant hidden off the main road just past Sharess' Caress, and everything emanating the timeless beauty of the Elves

Baldur's Gate itself could still have the amazing armor we find, but also think if we had two merchants who competed with each other over who's armor was better. Similarly to the dialogue you get if you wear any of Figaro's items to Carmen's shop, maybe instead you get one merchant who thinks armor is only as good as what it covers, and another who's armor is stronger when it exposes more of the wearer. Kind of a way to let the player choose between the practical-looking stuff, and the classic chainmail bikini found in old fantasy art

Again, I'm not saying anything bad about Larian or the game itself, and I have a lot of respect for how much is in the game as it is. I admit I'm spoiled in this from my many years of Wow, but just...

So uh, I kiiiinda forgot I had a HB-themed blog in the midst of me feeling the itch for HB redesigns... figured I'd might as well fix that with this recent Stolas family piece I did not too long ago-

(Now, as mentioned before on my DA post, I honestly have nothing against either Stolas, Octavia, nor Stella's canon designs.... Iiii just feel like as high-ranking demon birds, a lil "variety" tweaked in could lowkey go a long way the more I thought about it?)

Aaaand here, here's a quick lil rundown of what I had in mind for my own personal interpretations (AU, HC? Idk what exact term fits best but... *shrugs*):

For Stolas, I tried to tone down all the black & red from his previous design to a more "autumn sunset sky"-aesthetic (+ditched the big top hat 'cause like... you're a royal my dude, don't you just need a crown? lol), gave him a gradient starry cape instead of that old ripped one 'cause I always loved how the star cape looked on him from the "Ozzie's" episode, popped in some grey streaks in his hair, and then finally unified his outfit to a purple & black theme like a classic Disney villain~

For Octavia, I went with a classy "indigo night sky" vibe with lil gold accents, then shortened her hair to a fanned bob (kiiinda looking like bird wings, in a way?) along with adding some more "blended" features from her mom and dad just 'cause .3.

As for Stella... honestly I've fallen *way* too in love with the "Stella is a Swan" fan-theory ('cause yknow... she's all-white, black & pink beaked, elegant-looking but bitchy af in-person, etc.) that I couldn't resist incorporating more swan-y vibes to her design. Then I relaxed her big choppy hair to a more "refined" half-up/half-down style (+some extra feather tufts to still fit with her peacock bro Andrealphus), gave her more of a mermaid-shaped dress to fit her regal noble-lady vibe, then I simply left it a gradient pink/black in terms of colors 'cause... idk, it just reminded me alot of fancy Chanel-aesthetics~

Husk nervously went through every suit he boxed up. None of them fit quite right and he couldn’t tell what color they were. Yes, most of his suits were black or grey with orange or yellow accents but he couldn’t tell. When he managed to bring his things over to the hotel he hadn’t had time to mark them.

“Fuuuck” the cat mumbled to himself, “how am I s’posta find somethin’ ta wear?” He dragged his paws across his face, letting them sit over his eyes for a few seconds.

It had been ages since Husk went on a date… wait… had he even dated after he died? How long had it been? Pushing the thought out his mind he returned to the suits.

“I could ask Charlie…?” After thinking about for more than a few seconds he came to the conclusion that Charlie would have a stroke if he asked her for… romantic advice, or any kind of help frankly. And it’s not like he wanted anyone else in the hotel to know he was going on a date with Angel Dust. I mean.. he could always ask the man himself. Even if Angel had more of feminine style, he definitely knew how to dress. If Husk was going to be out in public, which he was, he wanted to look good.

He paced around in his room thinking it over and over. “Angel probably has some kinda fuckn 5 hour long routine if I go and ask em’ for help, he’ll probably fuckn’… fuck somthn’ up” Husk wanted to bash his head against the wall.

“I’ll just wear a wear a fuckn blouse an’ a vest.”

Husk wore a white blouse with a waterfall ruffles across the front. The sleeves went out and were a silky texture, if not for the cuffs at the end they could’ve easily drooped to the bottom of his wings. On top of that he had black double breasted vest with three orange buttons and other orange accents across the fabric. It was a slight hint, as if a single spool of an orange was cautiously woven across the very surface. At a glance you wouldn’t notice, but if you were close enough it was something you had to admire. Matching the pockets and buttons his bow tie was also a vibrant orange. (Atleast Husk hoped they were, they looked more like a grayish yellow to him) He finished the outfit with solid black dress pants. His belt was also black, save for the golden clubs and spades across the belt. Husk wasn’t sure if they were actually made out of real gold or not, but they looked nice. Finally he popped on a golden heart and a golden diamond cufflink on his sleeves.

He walked over to the mirror in his room. It was small and cracked. He hadn’t really cared to well… take care of his space or himself. He inspected himself, not a hair was out of place. And he needed it to stay that way. He grabbed a bottle of cologne out from one of his various boxes scattered across his room. Holding his breath he sprayed it on his chest, inner arms and wrists. The smell was strong to him. It overwhelmed his sense of smell, it didn’t matter though. He needed to be on top tonight.

With one final twist and shake he brushed off his nerves and started walking towards Angel’s room

Walking to Angel’s room was strange, it’s not like he hadn’t been there before but this time was different.

Husk felt a lot of the same feelings he did when walked to Alastor for help…however it wasn’t complete and utter fear. He was scared no doubt, but there was a touch of joy underneath. Whimsy? No. But there was definitely an excitement to the anxiety.

His heart raced as he prepared to knock on the spider’s door. “One two three four, one two three four…” he mumbled, remembering one of Charlie’s previous exercises. Something about counting to calm you down? He had brushed it off before but it worked surprisingly well.

*knock knock*

With a slight hesitation he said, “Hey Legs, I’m ready whenever you are”

This outfit was a collab between the Hunter's Association and the Super Hunters franchise. It's marketed to "bestow upon the wearer the valor and might of a hunter".

Though it is categorized as a trial uniform, it must have eventually become a standard throughout the Hunter's Association. We see characters like Captain Jenna, Tara, and Nero wearing them regularly (but Jenna's looks slightly different. More on that at the end).

Outfit Details:

Top:

The men's outfit is topped white button down, a dark grey necktie, what appears to be a chest harness, and a two-tone blazer in a mix of grey and dark grey fabrics. I personally like the pop of color the purple accent gives the look, too.

But based on the way the fabrics join, I suspect the women's outfit is actually a dress and the torso is just designed to mimic the look of a blazer. The dress is also two-tone. But instead of grey and dark grey, the women's uniform uses grey and light grey. It bears the same purple accents as the men's uniform.

Both outfits feature:

Fastening straps around the wrists of the blazer/blazer equivalent.

An additional rank badge between the shoulder blades

Bottoms:

The men's uniform includes a pair of dark grey pleated slacks. And, when the women's uniform is viewed from behind, the outer layer of fabric descending below the belt creates an illusion of a skirt.

The women's uniform has a skirt-like section that is grey on the sides and dark grey in the center. Its hem line has a thin strip of light grey along that's decorated with silver accents (two in front, two in back).

Shoes/Footwear:

The men's uniform includes a pair of black dress shoes, while the women's uniform opts for two-tone, high-heeled boots.

Interestingly, the women's uniform includes an arm band on the right arm and a badge of the left. Both are features the men's uniform lack.

From what we can see of Captain Jenna's uniform, it appears hers features a longer skirt than the standard uniforms the protaganist and Tara wear. Tara's dress ends around mid thigh, but Captain Jenna's looks like it extends beyond that point!

Frankie’s got me falling apart

Frankie Stein my beloved! G3 has given me a newfound appreciation for Frankie.

As usual, this is by no means a G3 hate post or account. If you hate G3, keep it to yourself or tell someone who cares. This post is about G1 and my take on it. Don’t like it? Leave.

Anyways with that out of the way, onto some design explanation and general info about my version of Frankie!

First of all, you’ll notice right away I changed a lot of things on them. Frankie is a Frankenstein’s monster, an amalgamation of dead body parts. So I tried to make the mismatched vibe a little more obvious. Both with patches of a deeper green for the skin, and with two different eye shapes. I also made her hair texture more puffy like her mothers hair, mainly just because I thought it’d look cute. I made it mainly black instead of mainly white because I thought it looks nicer, and now it’s just white and black instead of white grey and black.

As for their outfit, it’s always bugged me that Frankie has like, hardly any red in her design? Which is wild I know, I know her main color is green, but it just feels like… not enough for an accent color. And their random purple eyeshadow is just, odd to me. So I gave them more red in the design, keeping it as an accent color while still letting the deep green shine. Frankie also has always felt like one of the most Alt to me of the main group, so I tried to incorporate more edge with the tattered sweater vest and extra fishnets, as well as piercings, because I love them. I just tried to embrace the prep punk aesthetic she had going on.

Onto headcanons, or I guess canon for my designs? (Idk)

Frankie is non-binary. I love it, non-binary Frankie is like, I can’t unsee it now. Anyways g1 is a she/they to me, or maybe a they/she. As for sexuality, I’d say probably pan, and, importantly, polyamorous. G1 Frankie always felt polyamorous to me and so I felt the need to incorporate that into this. After all, Frankie has had the most amount of love interests. If I had to ship her with someone I’d say Jackson and Holt, it’s super cute. And also because as much as I love g3 Clankie I just, don’t really see it with G1, even if it does have that interest of like, mean girl x new kid that I usually love so much.

Heh I realised today I'm just pretty much wearing the colors of the aro flag, green, white, grey(silver) and black.....

Then I realised that over half my wardrobe are those colors. I have 5 green shirts plus a green jacket I almost wear daily, half of my wardrobe is black, I wear silver jewelry daily and most of the accents on my clothes and my shoes are white + the addition of my white aro ring on my left middle finger.

I mean statistically that means that I wear 1-3 aro flag colored outfits a week ( I didn't do the math I'm just guessing). The even funnier thing is that my favorite color is red, and I have more green clothes in my wardrobe than red, how?

A Straz Meet and greet

A tall shark demon with grey skin and pale underside with green accents and white spots on his fins. His neon blue sclera and white pupils sparkled with excitement as he walked in with a tacky navy blue cowboy outfit. His shark tail swaying as it draped on the floor. "Whoo-hoo-hoo! What is up, party people?!", Chaz exclaimed, swaying his shark tail as it draped on the floor.

The other patrons simply glared as they watched the clearly obvious and obnoxious stranger. The saloon was filled with sound of murmurs and soft whispers as they looked at him. Who was this guy? What was we doing here? He clearly wasn't from around here. Nevertheless, the shark demon was completely oblivious and happy to have everyone's attention. Well...all but one person in particular.

A tall and slim imp with red pale skin in a light gray jacket with slight darker-colored lapels, small yellow cuff links on each of the sleeves, dark gray cuffs, and dark gray trimming with black tassels can be seen hanging from them. Under his jacket is a dark gray vest with a black turtleneck held together by two small yellow buttons. His hands which rested on the saloon counter were hidden in black fingerless gloves. The ivory-colored jeans that ripped at the thighs hugged his muscular legs as his knee-high, dark gray cowboy boots with red cuffs and toes tapped to the saloon's background music.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?", Chaz replied, checking out the rattle snake imp. Without hesitation, Chaz walked over  and plopped down next to Striker. Chaz leaned back against the bar counter, using his right hand to tip his cowboy hat upwards and showing a snarky smile."This seat taken cowboy?", he replied in a low sultry voice, wiggling his eyebrows.

"Yea, a fancy pants city boy done sat in it.", Striker replied in a deep southern drawl. This was last thing Striker wanted to deal with right now. The poor rattlesnake already had it rough enough as it was. Perhaps if he ignored the stranger, he wouldn't have to deal with him..or so he thought. Instead, Chaz took the opportunity to scoot closer, placing his hand over Striker's and rubbing slowly. "Heya, the name's Chazwick, Chazwick Thurman, but you can call me the stud machine or Chaz, if you want." "Anyways, is your name as pretty as your face?", Chaz asked, tipping his cowboy hat upward with his other free hand. Striker felt his cheeks flush when Chaz touched and rubbed his hand. Striker instantly let out a loud hiss, yanking his hand away. "The fuck do you think ya doing?!",  he shouted in anger and embarrassment.

"Just getting a little friendly, is all.", he countered in feigned innocence as he smiled, showing off sea green teeth with a wink.  Striker hissed once more, clearly not amused by the situation.  "Awww, come on, cowboy. Don't be like that." Chaz replied, cupping Striker's chin and forcing him to look him in the eyes. "Besides, by the color on those cute cheeks....leans in with seductive whispers..I think you'll find that I can be very entertaining."

Striker felt his body tense and heat up when Chaz grabbed his face, calling out his colored cheeks. Who the hell did this shark fella think he is? "You seriously can't be from this here. If yer was you would know who am.", he replied, growing agitated.  "No one with a sane brain would even consider what yer just did unless they have a death wish.",  Striker threatened. However, Chaz wasn't threatened at all. In fact, he was intrigued. "You know, you're sexy when you're mad.", he spoked. Striker was once again caught off guard.  His pale red skinned cheeks burned bright red once more.

Striker then coiled his long and skinny fork like tail around Chaz's slim body, squeezing tightly. "Clearly you didn't hear me, city boy. Keep it up and yer dead!", hissed an angry flustered Striker.  The way that Striker's tail strangulated Chaz's body was suffocating, to say the very least. He felt his ribs tighten into his lungs from the sheer pressure of the tail. Yet he found Striker's absolute raw power to be alluring and erotic.

Chaz let out a forced laugh from the mild uncomfortable feeling of his torso being compressed. "Damn, that's a good grip you got there, cowboy.",  he replied in seductive voice.  "Would now also be a bad time to mention that this is kinda hot?", he asked, blushing a bit and causing Striker tighten his tail's grip. "Fuck ow! Ok that...a..little too tight...don't ya think?", Chaz replied, coughing while struggling to breathe. "But hey, I won't complain. If that's how sexy cowboys get to know people I won't complain.", Chaz winked, wiggling his eyebrows.

Striker eyes widened, unable to even consider responding to what Chaz just said. Now not only was his day ruined, but so was his night. He let out a gruff sigh, releasing Chaz from his tail's grip and causing him to land on the hard wooden ground with a hard thud. "Ow fuck! That was my ass, you know!", Chaz winced, rubbing his sore butt. Striker picked up his whiskey glass and guzzled in down in one swoop, taking a breath before he spoke, "Ya know what? I ain't got time for this. You ain't even worth the kill and I got real work to do." "Keep the change.", he huff, slamming down a cash tip for the bartender. Striker got up from his stool, smoothed back his messy ivory hair, placed his grey cowboy hat back on, and walked towards the door.

Unfortunately, Chaz still wasn't giving up just yet. He wasn't just gonna let his cowboy snake hottie get away so easily. Nobody says no to Chazwick Thurman! He immediately got off the floor, dusted himself off, and dashed after Striker. "Hey, hang on-", he started to say before tripping on his own tail. "Ahhh fuck!", he shouted immediately after tripping, rolling past Striker across the wooden floor, and crashing hard. "That's not how that was supposed to go....",

Chaz groaned as he laid upside down, covered in booze and food.

The saloon soon up roared in laughter as everyone laughed at Chaz's misfortune. Chaz huffed and turn himself upright, trying to wipe the mess off his clothes and compose himself. He was used to people laughing with him, not at him. Feeling both angry and embarrassed, he wanted nothing more than to leave before things went from bad to worse. However, in trying to do so, he slipped again, tumbling out the doors and landing face first in the horse trough. This caused everyone to laugh even harder.

Chaz sat up, spitting water out of his mouth only to see everyone laughing harder. Chaz had enough being laughed at. Not only had he been rejected, but he was humiliated not once, but twice and by everyone. Chaz's face began to heat up as balled up his fists and huffed. But his feelings quickly changed when he saw Striker's reaction. Striker was on the floor in laughter, kicking his legs back forth as he held his stomach. Chaz couldn't believe it. Did he actually make Striker laugh?

Suddenly, Chaz didn't feel so upset and embarrassed anymore. How could he when he heard such a beautiful sound? Chaz pulled himself out of the trough and shook the water off before walking over to Striker. "See? I told you I can be entertaining.", Chaz smirked proudly. Striker quickly got off the floor, trying to compose himself. "Ahem, don't flatter yourself, city boy." "You just look so stupid, that's all.", he replied, crossing his arms looking away.

"A-huh, sure. Is that why you were on the floor laughing your ass off?", he asked, trying to look Striker in the face. "Tck, go sit on a cactus, city boy.", he scoffed, crossing his arms while trying to avoid eye contact. "I mean, I will if it makes you do that pretty laugh of yours again.", his voice dropping into a seductive tone. He grabbed Striker's chin. "I can take a bit of pain if it makes you laugh."

Striker's cheeks blushed a dark red as his tail rattled. Except this time he didn't pull away. He simply rolled his eyes and replies, "I really can't stand ya. You do know this, dontcha?" Part of him did find the little nuisance entertaining, but he wasn't going to tell him that."I know, but you gotta admit I'm at least funny though, right?", Chaz asked, elbowing Striker.

Striker chuckles, pulling his chin away from Chaz's grip before heading towards the doors. "Aww, what? You mean after all that, you still abandoning me cowboy?" Chaz whines. He lowered his head, finally accepting defeat.

Striker stopped and turned his head towards the shark demon. "I told ya I got work to do. Not all of us can afford to just mess around."

"Besides, whether I want it or not, I'm sure we will cross paths again.", he sighed.

Chaz tilted his head confused as he listened. "How am I supposed to do that? Wrath is a huge ring, you know." "I mean, you wouldn't even give a brotha yer name." Chaz shrugged with a whine. Striker just chuckled once again, "I'm sure you'll figure it out city boy." Without another word, Striker left.

Chaz stood there confused as he scratched his head. What did he mean he would find out soon enough? None of what the mysterious cowboy said made sense. Chaz sighed, jamming his fists into his pockets in confusion when he felt something. "Huh? What the?" Chaz pulled out what seems to be a white piece of paper. "The fuck? This isn't mine." When Chaz unraveled the paper, he was shocked to find it was a note.

If you ever in my neck of the woods, come find me, city boy. You best be prepared to entertain me, though. See ya around, dummy.

Chaz couldn't help but smile as he read the note. He gently placed it back into his pocket as he looked out the window into the night. Upon looking outside, he saw Striker on his horse, tipping his hat as he winked before riding away. Chaz couldn't help but chuckled to himself. "Striker, huh? We will definitely meet again."

Hello, hello! Aspiring graphic designer Atticus here to infodump about my semi-basic understanding of color theory in my current favorite video game series

I could probably talk one’s ear off about the symbolism of the colors themselves, but I will instead try to focus on what they mean in regards to the plot and the characters as a whole

Let us begin with our titular protagonist, Hershel Layton

Our favorite lego man has gone through a handful of design changes throughout his life

His palette in this image is pretty simple (I mean, no shit, Sherlock, he’s 5, but still…) A cute little sulfur and white shirt and light blue pants make up his outfit here. Yellow is a color often associated with happiness and, at times, innocence, and that coupled with the brightness of said yellow and the white accent conveys that well, in my opinion. He’s a young child, living a happy life with his family, but after Targent takes them away, we see a drastic shift in colors

This is the outfit he wears when first meeting the Laytons, who will soon become his new family and identity. Notice how dull the colors are, especially compared to Desmond, who is still wearing that same red-orange vest (or at least a very similar one) and a bright red tie. Another thing to point out is the composition of the colors themselves. Here we have an orange button-down shirt underneath a dark colored coat (grey in this case)... now where have we seen that before?

This iconic composition is tied directly with the name Hershel Layton. And Desmond’s palette remains because they have yet to receive their new identity; they are not yet Desmond Sycamore.

Moving ahead through the timeline, Hershel’s colors become a lot brighter, the white returns, and now he has a bright red vest

Sure, it’s not exactly the same, but all (and I mean all) the colors are incredibly similar to Desmond’s and identical in composition. I’m sure it has been stated time and time again how this palette and composition was given to him along with the name Hershel, but it is interesting to note that it doesn’t stop at just the red vest

Red becomes a very prominent color later on, too

His outfit is almost entirely red as a university student

You get it by now; I really don’t want to overstate this point…

ANYWAY 👏

Post Claire getting yeeted through time and space, he starts wearing his coat more frequently as well as an orange shirt. I cannot remember where I saw this but someone made a post saying how that palette was symbolic of how he was at the time; the darkness of the coat, pants, and hat representing his grief and the seemingly oversaturated orange representing his remaining hope, I believe was what they said

And this brings us back to Desmond. Both of them underwent a drastic change in coloration after losing those they loved. Both of them now sport an identical dark brown, which is the same EVEN WITH DESCOLE

Were it not for the lining and shading, the area around Des’s legs would have blended perfectly

The only difference is Hershel has a very bright accent, one that is more than just a dash of red or purple (the boa and mask don't count mostly bc that’s exclusively a Descole thing and not shared with Desmond); it’s his second most used color. He hasn’t fallen as far into darkness as Des; he still has some light in him keeping him from traveling down the same path as his sibling

After that point, though, both of their designs remain consistent, so there’s not much more I can say about them…

Ok Luke time

I think my favorite thing about Luke’s palette is how much it complements Hershel’s

Blue is the opposite of orange, and Luke’s secondary color has always been a pale peach off-white that looks almost grey against the blue, which works with Hershel’s off-black dark brown

For funsies, I put the above image through a reverse gradient filter and snagged some colors to compare

While not identical in hue or anything, the inversions are still pretty close

And Luke has gone through a lot of design changes too

That Luke Blue™ becomes more prominent the older he gets, changing into a much more saturated blue when he’s 14 before his composition pulls a complete 180

Because his color palette stays pretty much the same, there’s not much to say yet on the symbolism of the changes and whatnot. We’ll have to wait until NWoS’s release to see if there is something or if I’m pulling a High School English Teacher

But yeah, Luke is quite opposite to Hershel in many ways, yet they go together extremely well. Luke is energetic, spunky, a bit sassy at times, and is far more outspoken 24/7. Herschel is calm, quiet, almost overly polite, and pretty reserved, always waiting until he has all the pieces in place before revealing his findings and generally not letting many people know about his personal life. They are complete opposites, yet they complement each perfectly, and their color schemes reflect this

And now we get to the fun part… ✨The Villains✨ Specifically Dimitri Allen and The Masked Gentleman

The Future Layton disguise is pretty much just a desaturated Hershel Layton and is way more representative of Dimitri himself than Hershel. It utilizes colors that, while not directly opposite to Dimitri’s design, complement his

Note the blue and red scarves, shift from off-black to off-white and vice versa,  and the red and white roses

Dimitri is our first example of a villain just being a light theme Hershel Layton. He’s reserved, intelligent, forward thinking, creative, and harbors a strong love for Claire. The difference is Dimitri’s “the ends justify the means” mentality. Were Hershel to have that kind of a mindset, I would not be shocked if the story of Future London ends up a reality

And then we have The Masked Gentleman…

Where he lacks similarities in character, Randall’s villainsona makes up for in its coloration. Turning Randall’s prominent purple into an accent separates him from the man behind the mask while the outfit in general is eerily similar to Hershel’s, just with its own Descole-esque spin on it. The hues of their major colors are nearly exact (32 and 31 respectively), blonde hair is pretty much opposite of brunette, and, most obviously, the red and green bands on their hats are compliments of each other. Not only that, but certain parts of Randall’s outfit are tilted down where Hershel’s are tilted up and vice versa, and rounded corners become sharper and vice versa

Putting our boy through a reverse gradient demonstrates this well I think

Could I go more in depth and drag this out even more unnecessarily long than it needs to be? Maybe. Am I going to? No.

Pretty much everything else I could say has to do with little things that don’t matter at all plot wise (aside from maybe kat and flora having warm colors too and alfie being the outlier and blah blah blah) but this is already over 1000 words long and holy shit i rambled so much my goodness

Anyway, excited to pick apart NWoS once that comes out. Just from the trailer alone I can already tell I’m gonna have fun with this one >:]

30 day idol challenge - 28. in black

When i came up with this challenge, i took some inspiration from challenges that were around and they all had a topic having to do with a color, like 'in red', 'in pink', 'in blue' etc. Well I figured i wasn't going to make it too difficult 😇 two guitarists in an evil German rockband, so we'll go with black... 😊

“Good morning! How can I help you today?” asked the store clerk, a friendly woman in her mid-thirties named Amelia.

“I’m looking for something new,” Lucas replied with a smile. “I need a few outfits for different occasions.”

Amelia nodded enthusiastically and led Lucas to the fitting rooms, arms already brimming with selections.

**First Outfit: Casual Elegance**

Lucas emerged in a casual yet elegant ensemble perfect for a weekend brunch. He wore an oversized light blue linen shirt, its sleeves rolled up to the elbows, paired with high-waisted beige chinos. The outfit was completed with chunky white sneakers and a crossbody bag. The soft colors complemented his complexion, and the breathable fabrics made him feel effortlessly stylish.

“How does it feel?” Amelia asked.

“Perfect for a casual day out,” Lucas replied, admiring himself in the mirror.

**Second Outfit: Office Professional**

Next, Lucas stepped out in a more professional look suitable for his corporate job, yet with a Gen Z twist. He wore a charcoal grey suit with a subtle pinstripe pattern, tailored to perfection.
