I remain firmly convinced and very comfortable with the idea that Black folks within hobby spaces (fanspaces or the gaming community) need and should foster community spaces dedicated exclusively to them on and offline. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

This esp important for Black women/femmes across the spectrum, who are frequent targets of harassment campaigns and antiblackness within so-called hobby spaces that constantly call themselves "open" and "welcome" to everyone.

BlackGirlGamers is one of the few Black-centric spaces online that I know explicitly enforcing that boundary. They don't try to make a space they built for Black women "a space for everybody", and even boot out Black women who uphold damaging isms. So, yeah, I'm glad to hear folks are getting put in their place when they try to cross explicit boundaries.

Y'all don't get to decide that you're invited into a space that deliberately excludes you because you don't know how to act in the open space you have when Black folks inhabit it.

It's grown into a worldwide celebration, of Africa's growth, creativity and cultures - all of which can be seen in Africa's gaming industry. Throws up why does most of the Pjo fandom act like Nico and Percy ever hated eachother or never solved the problems in their relathionship when Rick never wrote that,he just says he did and gaslight us through non-existent text.Nico was only mean to Percy because he was trying to protect himself and his internalized homophobia was messing with his head and Percy was never mean to Nico at all,whenever she thought something negative of him she didn't speak on it to not hurt his feelings and not ONCE did she even consider giving up on him throught all of Botl and Tlo not out of not pity or obligation but pure platonic/found family love for him.Literally the only toxicity in their friendship was Nico viewing Percy in a romantic light and the consequences coming with it but once he realized she's not the man he thought she was based on idealizing her,they were finally able to be proper friends again,like they'd wanted to since the beginning,all the way back in Ttc.Percy's not homophobic,she's a trans woman Nico had misderected attraction to because she was uncracked and she also compared her treatment of him to acting like Sally does towards her i.e Nico and Percy are a wild child and team mom/middle brother and eldest daughter dynamic in addition to the actually healthy intergenerational best friends aspects of them.They never hated eachother!!Nico is too much of Percy and Percy is too much of Nico for them to ever be unloved by one another and THAT'S what Rick actually wrote them as regardless of his intentions!!!!!Nico and Percy means 'We met once and you loved me.We met twice and you tried to hate me and neither of us wanted to.We met again and we both can't stop colliding on purpose.We met once and you loved me.Can you do that again?I've always loved you on purpose,even when you thought you didn't deserve me.I want all the pieces of you,not the fragments you show to look infallable,you're my sibling and one i chose,you are a piece of me and i can't be incomplete,you're a tear in my heart and i want to patch us up together for eternity.I don't want to exist if it means me without you'
