I'm more of a TV person, and movies are very, very rare for me. It was probably one of the best anti-war comedies of all time, Duck Soup (1933) . This is probably the Marx Bros best film. It's simultaneously a raging, furious rant and a biting, side-splitting satire of war, fascism, and the absurdity of humans. Groucho, an expert rarely equaled at verbal pyrotechnics, spins words and fires them back at everyone as if they were bullets. He always does, but in this film his mouth is like a machine gun.

Directed by Leo McCarey (Oscar-Award winning writer for several films, including The Awful Truth, Going My Way, and nominated for writing and directing for several other very good films). Written by Bert Kalmar, Harry Ruby, who also have strong Hollywood titles to their names.

This Pre-Code classic is still completely relevant as it was nearly 100 years ago. In fact, it's a bit depressing just how relevant it is-- how much you will see our current politicians in Rufus T Firefly (without the fun).

If you haven't seen Duck Soup, and you enjoy war satires and comedians putting a middle finger at the establishment, military and government, I cannot recommend it high enough.

You know, with Bill Cipher trending, I hope more people give a chance to Flatland, since it's an underrated classic of the 19th century, and I believe Alex Hirsch mentioned as an inspiration for his work.

Sad in the individual case but hilarious on a macroscopic level, apparently making the female avatars look less feminine in Pokemon Go has been triggering dysphoria in transwomen. Who were ironically probably who that was intended to please.

from a very old GameSpy article and i feel this is something that has been forgotten about the sims series. the sims used to be satire. this was more evident by its cynical and/or crude humor. now the sims just kinda has a "cozy" & "wholesome" feel to it. it's like the series forgot that it wasn't just a simulator, but also a parody on life itself.
