you jolt awake at the sounds of insistent banging and knock your head against the cramp walls of whatever space you're in right now. it's dark, and your breath smells of absinthe. weird. you don't think you're the type to get blackout drunk.

you wave your hands towards the direction of the banging sounds and quickly find yourself fumbling out of a supply closet, knocking all the brooms and dustpans over the floor.

"oh great, you're here."

your bleary eyes slowly take in the sight of the sneering speaker. big, short-stature, with a cracked head as if cosplaying humpty dumpty. yeah, that's horror for sure.

"what?" you groan, holding your head in your hand, feeling sick all of a sudden. horror looks at you, squinting his eyes in that bitchy expression on his face.

"are you... drunk? since when?"

"since none of your business."

you don't hear what horror quips next. maybe he doesn't. it's hard to tell with a ringing headache that you haven't felt in a long time. you stare resolutely at the floor, trying to force yourself stand still and stop swaying.

"-where's dust?"

what. you turn to horror. your confused face must irritate him because he repeats the question with much derision in his tone.

"where's dust? you're usually joined at the hip. where is he?"

dust. oh, your angel. that's what horror means. you open your mouth, an answer on the tip of your tongue. then close it, unsure. a sense of wrongness blossoms in your ribs. you're unsure.
