// @blighted-flesh-ii
“Medications like, bismuth subsalicylate, dimenhydrinate, or phosphorated carbohydrate solution, can help with intense nausea, but assuming you’d like their less.. complex names; pepto-Bismol, Dramamine, or Emetrol, can be good medications, I hope your friend feels better!”

Humans and toxins
(Part 2)
Another fun example is found in a popular medicine called pepto bismol. Often used to treat indigestion and diarrhea for many earth creatures, it contains an interesting ingredient. Bismuth Subsalicylate is a common ingredient found in most medications to treat digestive issues. However it is also created from a chemical element called bismuth. Bismuth is closely related to arsenic which is deadly to humans. Bismuth is used in many things but should never be consumed directly. You won't have to worry too much about accidental consumption, most humans won't simply eat the stuff.

“Therapy”
Now, what was it she said again? Right, find my center. THE center.
The circumference? The diameter of a circle. A radius? Maybe my radius? No, perhaps it’s our orbit? A planet. My planet? Earth?
Earth. Right. Earth’s a start. But where did I start?
Where do “I” start? At my birth, or now? No, at birth. Never now, always then. Then started with a Mama, right?
A Mama…
A Mom..
A Mother.
I try to stop it, but it’s hopeless and now some part of me is already searching our childhood again. Pepto pink walls of a room I’m sure another homeowner has repainted by now.
I really did try to quiet that part of myself, but she’s walking down the stairs, descending into the living room. Into the yellow walls.
Those four yellow walls…they look sick. I feel sick.
Nauseous and retreating, I recede into pink walls, praying it eases the pain in my stomach. I cry out, not really sure for who. Maybe…
A Mother?
Mother?
..Mom?
…Mama?
“3$&+@€¥?”
Not her.
Never her.
Never then, never now. But now, now is…odd. Hearing my name right now feels odd. Was I the one who said it?
It’s okay to feel odd.
I guess.
I guess we just have to feel weird sometimes. I guess sometimes we just have to be in the now.
“Could you tell me how you’re feeling right now?”
“I” wade through Bismuth Subsalicylate. “I” do my best to respond.
She wants a response.
She needs to respond.
We need a response.
Somebody just FUCKING RESPOND!
The body makes a response.
I think it blinks.
Then I blink.
Then there’s some concrete and some grass.
It’s not close. It’s in the distance.
For a second I see 2012. I see my backyard.
It’s empty.
It’s not mine. It never was.
It’s not. It’s now.
Never then, always now.
Now.
Now?
Right now it’s a world through a window.
“I” respond;
“I think I’m just seeing the world through a window.”

Bismuth / 83 Bi 北梦
Bismuth enjoys nail art, makeup and journaling. She served as a pharmacist in a small town after her graduation. Now she works under Lead in Elementia, who is training her as his replacement. She'll prepare warm drinks and soup for her colleagues at work, and bring medication to her friends who experience stomach discomfort.
Being sensitive and imaginative, she often feels lonely, and struggles to be understood. She visits cafe and shops in quiet, quaint towns in search for the answer to her longing and nostalgia. Bismuth wrote letters to Tin when he was studying abroad, filled with her warm wishes and doodles. In a bitter winter, when Tin was left alone in the Northern Land, he was comforted by Bismuth's letters.
Bismuth is close to Astatine. When they first met in Elementia, she felt such nostalgia - they must've met before, or they must've dreamt of each other before. Bismuth spends time with Astatine whenever she visits Elementia, enjoying each other's quiet presence.

What is your opinion on bismuth subsalicylate?
It is a matter of life and death
Tumblr media
…I suppose it can be necessary, at times. Other than that, I have no strong opinion.
Tumblr media
Do you always refer to over-the-counter medication by its full scientific name? It reminds me of my sister.

People go to many extremes to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, but generating green stool shouldn't be one of them.
Your morning trip to the bathrooom revealed you may have had one too many green beers last night. Do you need to be worried about green poop?
To find out all things green poop, we checked in with Mayo Clinic, UnityPoint Health, healthline.com and medicine.net.
Here's what you need to know:
Is it OK if your poop is green?
According to mayoclinic.org, all shades of brown and even green poop are considered to be normal. It is rare for the color of your poop to indicate a potentially serious intestinal condition.
Is green poop an infection?
Maybe, according to medicine.net. Many people experience green diarrhea and it will usually go away on its own.
If you're experiencing severe diarrhea symptoms when your poop is green, your stool may be an indication of something more serious and you should contact a physician.
Why is my poop green?
The color of one's poop is generally dictated by the food you consume combined with the amount of bile that exists in your poop, according to mayoclinic.org.
What is bile? It's a yellow-green fluid that digests fats.
Enzymes chemically alter bile pigments as they make their journey through the gastrointestinal tract. This is what changes the color of your poop from brown to green..
What does green poop mean?
According to mayoclinic.org, the bile doesn't have time to break down completely due to food moving through the large intestine too fast — such as diarrhea.
What causes green poop?
According to mayoclinic.org, there are few dietary items that bring about green poop:
Green food coloring (dyed beer, flavored drink mixes or ice pops).
Green leafy vegetables.
Iron supplements.
According to UnityHealth, other causes for green poop may include:
Bacterial or viral infections.
Gastrointestinal disorders − such as Crohn’s or celiac disease.
Why is my poop green, but I didn't eat anything green?
Foods using artificial or natural food coloring struggle with absorption while they pass through gastorintestinal system, according to healthline.com. This allows for blue and purple foods to leve behind a residue and that leaves poop green during the digestive process.
Such food tiems include:
Blue or purple ice pops.
Blue or purple icing.
Blueberries
Grape-flavored sodas
Red cabbage.
Does green poop mean a bad liver?
Bile is created in the liver, but green poop does not an indication that your liver is going bad, according to UnityHealth.
Why is my poop black?
According to mayoclinic.org, some dietary reasons for black poop include black licorice, iron supplements and bismuth subsalicylate — which is basically Kaopectate or Pepto-Bismol. However, you shouldn't take black poop lightly.
What does black poop mean?
Black poop may be a sign of bleeding in the upper gastrointestinal tract — such as the stomach — according to mayoclinic.org. Anyone who discovers black poop after a bowel movement should seek immediate medical attention.

"Maverick my poor boy, are you having stomach aches again? You need to try this concoction, it shall soothe your tummy," Calico spoke as he placed a hand over the hunched over prince, who was rubbing his stomach over the layers of attire. He noticed the anxiety and stress was getting to him, so much that even the hardened councilman could not ignore it. Therefore he ordered the royal medic to brew a concoction of bismuth subsalicylate, along with a few drops of mushroom essence so Maverick could sleep off the discomfort. Some rest would do him good, he thought.
