Six classes not to โ€œbounce back,โ€ but to learn how to navigate your postpartum body and adjust to motherhood; for the first time, or once again. So many changes happen to our bodies during pregnancy, lots of moving, shifting and stretching. You Deadlift laundry, you Farmer Carry grocery bags, school bags and little ones and you Press boxes, bins and babies overhead; we train for life. Learn how to prioritize your time of healing, restore a compromised core and postural strength along with nutrition and mindset. Today kicks off World Breastfeeding Week. I feel so lucky to have exclusively breastfed Clarke for the six weeks of her life (photo from her first month of life). Breastfeeding is a journey, and very rarely (from what I know/hear) an uneventful one. Ours has looked different throughout these last six weeks, from tongue and lip ties to nipple shields, and milk savers for heavy let down, testing every position under the sun to frustrating (for everyone) latch work, and itโ€™s still been a total dream to share this with my daughter and Iโ€™m so lucky to have abundant milk, and a supportive partner, and to be able to surround myself with a community who makes this all feel normal and ok. Thank you all! This week we introduce a bottle and I have so many mixed feelings about it... but I do have to return to work. #worldbreastfeedingweek #breastfeeding #breastfeedingisnotacrime #lalecheleague #birthfit #ebf

First Baby ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿผ & Me Yoga ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ Class โ€ขโ€ขโ€ข Im officially cleared to workout! I am super excited, but this does not mean that I will be back to my old tricks tomorrow, and I have accepted this! ๐Ÿคธ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ โ€ขโ€ขโ€ข As I venture back into fitness in my new mom-bod I know that it will be a journey. I need to be smart and take my time. I made a deal with myself that I will regain strict movements before attempting to kip. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ โ€ขโ€ขโ€ข It is really helpful to surround myself with other new moms and allow myself to ease back in as I enter this new chapter in my life. โ€ขโ€ขโ€ข Who knew singing the itsy bits you spider ๐Ÿ•ท and doing modified sun salutations โ˜€๏ธ could me so much fun! #Repost @birthfit This is what 2 weeks postpartum looks like. It does not and should not involve a barbell, a gym, or a yoga studio; no matter what level of athlete you are in this world. The first two weeks should include skin to skin, cuddles on cuddles on cuddles on cuddles, and nourishing your body with teas, soups, broths, and food (ideally you did not make). Read our words- You should not be at the gym, out for a run, or in a studio at two weeks postpartum. Call it tough love, but will not support anyone doing anything but bonding the first two weeks of that little human's life. This is such a critical period for mom and baby. Each of you need each other. Soak up each other because these moments fly by.
