I love how A lot of ex McLaren Drivers nasilały adopted Lando and they love him. Lewis, Jenson, Fernando or Mika.

~ Nando adopted him from Daytona 24 onwards. With Daytona he was so impressed with little baby 18yo Lando during the race that he went on to borderline wax poetry, and then Lando was the test/reserve for McLaren and did his apprenticeship in 2018, so when he wasn't racing in F2 he was learning the ins and outs, doing all sorts of jobs from sweeping the garage to making tea, and he learnt a lot from Fernando (probably insane to him since it was Lewis and Nando in 2007 that got him into F1 and McLaren) ~ a little bonus:

EDIT: thanks to an anon for the additional info, these two go further back than I was aware of! Lando was doing his internship at with McLaren as well as doing some test driver duties in 2017. 2018 was when they were in a team for Daytona 24 together and he became McLaren's reserve driver. And even before that, he's known Fernando since he won the WKC in an FA Kart

~ Jenson seemed to love Lando basically from the start, this interview springs to mind in particular, they're both Somerset Boys, and then he seems to have grown more and more endeared. Jenson has usually vouched for Lando for things, and the feeling is clearly mutual too from how at ease Lando is during interviews with JB

~ Lewis was actually a bit of a surprise, but seemed (to me at least) mildly amused by the rookies and Lando, I'm distinctly reminded of Silverstone 2019 and the iconic press conference, but Lewis' fondness for Lando in particular seemed to come after Sochi and then grew from there, and there's been a lot of sweet moments since. There's a few instances over radio, Lewis checked on Lando when he was sick in Barcelona last year and sitting on the floor under an umbrella during the drivers parade, stealing Lando's bucket hat, a few drivers parades this year where we saw the two of them talk to each other for most if not the whole thing

~ I haven't seen too much with Mika and Lando, but I know he's been pretty complimentary about him, and also turned heads when he made the bold claim (at the time) that McLaren will be the ones to challenge Red Bull and then lo and behold Austria and then the upgrades since and here we are

I’ve experienced this. Not being allowed to say no. Being asked repeatedly again and again every few minutes until I said yes, exhausted, out of desperation, because I knew it would be over sooner if i just gave in, because i just wanted to go to sleep, because he always said “consent is sexy” but didn’t really understand the meaning of consent.

It ruined my trust in him (and men in general), and traumatized me. I wake up with panic attacks sometimes. I can’t sleep on the “wall” side of the bed without feeling like I’m choking.

Anywayyyy I dumped him and moved overseas and met my husband who is wonderful and never asks me even a second time if I say no once. He asks instead if I’d like to do something else like watch a movie, or go out for dinner, or if I’d rather be left alone for a bit. I guess the real point of this is that if someone doesn’t respect your time, your body, and your consent, leave their ass! You WILL find someone else who can love you and respects you.

You do not owe your partner(s) sex. I mostly see this passed around in the asexual community, and it absolutely needs emphasis there, but this applies to anyone of any orientation. You never owe your partner(s) sex under any circumstance.

If your sex drive or libido is lower than your partner’s, you may feel obligated to “keep up” with them to make them happy. But you have a right to say no, or not be in the mood, or be too tired, or just not want to right now. Your partner(s) should respect your right to say no and your bodily autonomy.

If your partner(s) try to harass, manipulate, or coerce you into having sex when you say no, they’re an asshole. Having said yes in the past does not mean you can never say no. It is not your responsibility or obligation to provide sex. You do not need to violate your own boundaries to make someone else happy. Your partner(s) should respect your right to say no, and if they don’t, they don’t deserve you.

Your body belongs to you, and you decide what’s best for your sexual health. Happy Pride

i dont remember much

from that day

i remember the endless rolling hills, covered in tall dry grass. it was a windy day, the grass bent and the leaves fluttered. i watched a group of cows, grazing on a field. they were in the corner of their pasture, with barbed wire on one side, a cluster of trees on another. the afternoon sun peeked through the window and blinded me. i turned. tucked my wings against the car door, and looked out the other window. this side had more trees. some of them had broken branches from the wind. atop one sat a crow. its beak open. cawing. i couldnt hear the bird. the windows were closed.

she was singing along to taylor swift. she loved taylor swift. i think the fearless album was her favorite. thats what she played most for me, anyway.

i closed my eyes. the world spun, when i wasnt watching. i didnt feel dizzy, but i didnt...not. feel dizzy. when i opened my eyes the trees had thickened. the music had stopped. the sun had sank in the sky.

she talked to the car. she liked to personify things that weren't alive. she talked to them more than she talked to me. well. talked at me. pet birds dont speak.

she was going twenty miles over the speed limit. i didnt say anything. i never said anything.

our surroundings began to look more and more unfamiliar. not that i was ever allowed outside. id assumed she was sending me away. id never been in a car before.

my face itched. my mask was pretty warm in the car. i cant remember if she told me i looked better with it or if she just implied it. it covered my nose and mouth. she liked to cover up the things that made me look less like a bird. i didnt scratch my face. i wasnt allowed to. she didnt like my arms.

we got to where we were going. eventually. the edge of the forest. she dropped me off. she looked sad, i think. i was never quite sure. i dont think i understand emotions very well. she always ignored mine.

i acted sad as well. since she was. i assumed thats what she wanted of me. she said her parents made her send me away. she said she wanted to keep in touch. im not sure how she expected me to do that. she got back in the car. and drove away.

i sat there for a while. until it started to rain. then i decided to enter the forest.

thinking about the way that my disabilities are sort of an endless hamster wheel I can't ever get off where there's always something new. and I'm also always trying to come to peace with that.

and also thinking about how I have only JUST in the last couple of years, found close people who also understand that. who don't expect that one day I'll just go okay! well that all sucked but good thing I'm cured now and it'll never bother me again! 😃👍

maybe there's a reason I've taken so long to fully find peace in "this is how my life will be" despite it being my reality from age 18, at endometriosis diagnosis. and my lived but unacknowledged reality for much longer. maybe the lack of acceptable and understanding from people around me wasn't helping!

Something i’ve been working on for a while now, a slight redesign of Birb’s hypothetical EX form! (also he’s 5′10, forgot to put his height lol)

While not exactly ‘canon’ to him, it’s still a fun idea/design to play around with!

Plus a little bonus under the cut!  :3c

He’s got extra aaaarms!!! Great for hugging :3c

His little arms, while they may ‘malfunction’ from time to time, it doesn’t actually harm him in any way; it mostly just causes a bit of unintentional mischief.

Examples: Tangling around himself/others, ‘powering down’ at inconvenient times (making him have to drag them along the ground), or being a bit wiggly! Sometimes it seems like they have a mind of their own!
