1. I'm a '74 Billy fan through and through. As much as I really do enjoy the '06 ver of Black Christmas and think it's hated on WAYYYY too much, I'm kind of indifferent about the Billy of that movie to be honest. I don't super super like him, but I definitely don't hate him either. He's underrated by all means. He is like. A critter to me.

2. I would like to see slasher fanfictions that generally explore the darker, more intense parts of their characters. I usually see it in a smut setting, and while interesting, I want to see those themes outside of a inherently sexual evil. I find more psychological elements to be much more thrilling, and I don't see it delved into very much. Unfortunate </3 There are endless possibilities regarding the characters within these movies (ESPECIALLY BILLY BTW)

3. Thinking about 06 and 74 Billy has really got me thinking about the original screenplay for BC and the remake. I've seen people lose their shit about how 06 makes Billy a sympathetic character yada yada "the original billy didn't HAVE a backstory" when like...yeah...he did...he does...and they are very similar.

The contents of the original "Stop Me!" Screenplay and 06's Black Christmas as both problematic in their own ways. Aside the gore, I think the original screenplay deals with just as heavy shit as 06 does, if not at some points worse.

And I'm realizing now that I've never really talked about this and it's suprising.me, but I'll save it for a long ass post I'll make one of these days where I can really dig my hands into the screenplay vs 06 dirt.

Billy Lenz Commentary Notes

TW/CW: discussion of childhood abuse, alchoholism

Quick disclaimer: Billy Lenz is a horrifically unreliable narrator when it comes to what he’s thinking and saying, BUT, consider this: i suffer from brain rot and am willing to overlook that fact for the sake of character development because i love him and want him to be happy. So, I watched the Billy Lenz Commentary and took notes on everything he said and I even included time-stamps bc i am an Ultra Dork and have no friends :,D. (/lh) The commentary was recorded several decades after the actual movie came out, so Billy is around the age of 50-60.

-(52:50) appears to go into some kind of dissociative state where he talks about a man named Dave, asking him “what’s wrong Dave,” and saying “Don’t go, don’t leave me Dave”. Potentially the name of Billy's father and he’s repeating what his mother said to his father before he left? For some reason it feels like he’s not quoting a movie here, i looked it up and couldn’t find anything. I could be wrong though!

-(57:36) yes I know he’s mocking barb in this scene but shut up okay I’m using this as evidence that he has high empathy cause literally shut the fuck up no literally shit the fuck up he blows his goddamn nose wich means he was actually crying you shut the fuck up /lh

Wanted to write more stuff with remake Billy Lenz because I still think he's too underrated. This is kinda connected to my previous Billy/Reader/Billy stuff.

Living With Both Billy Lenz's

Takes them both a while to warm up to each other. 70s Billy is worried 06 Billy will replace him and 06 Billy just takes a long time to warm up to anyone.

Once they do start to get along (mainly due to a mutual fondness towards you), you'll have your hands full. Both Billy's can be chaotic and unpredictable, in separate ways.

06 Billy SUCKS at obscene phone calls, he's just not good at them. 70s Billy will teach him the finer points of it (which mostly consists of telling the other one he's no good at it, and then giving him a demonstration by yelling, snorting, and moaning into the phone). Both have a very wide vocal range, and you might sometimes get calls from another room of the house where it's just the two of them shouting dirty and vaguely threatening things into the phone.

06 Billy makes up for not being that good on the phone by being a pretty good chef, once you let him try. He can follow recipes well and also improvise. The only part he struggles with is getting the food out of the oven before it burns.

Neither Billy particularly LIKES women at first, though they do both have a very strong lustful feeling towards them, but if you’re female they’ll both learn to separate you from their traumatic pasts and make an exception for you. A lot of their dislike towards women stems more from trauma than any particular lack of sexual desire towards them.

Agnes will likely be living with you as well. Once she's found her dad again, she won't want to let him go so easily. Takes her the longest to come around to trusting you, but once she does she can be very helpful in getting the two Billy's to listen up or calm down.

06 Billy has always had an interest in space, ever since he was a kid, and it never faded. He would love to climb up on the roof with you at night and stargaze, and if you bought him a telescope he would use it every night.

If the two Billy's were to fight, 06 Billy has the physical advantage (and the advantage of having Agnes willing to join the fight too), but 70s Billy has the element of surprise on his side, being completely unpredictable. It would be a very tough call.

Both will want to share your bed, sleeping on either side of you and sandwiching you between them, wrapping their arms and legs around you. It's very awkward but once their breathing syncs up, it would be surprisingly relaxing.

06 Billy's jaundice would take a looooong time to completely fix, if ever, but you can lessen the bright yellow tone by having him out in the sun more, giving him supplements, and working on slowly healing his damaged liver.

The jealously they both feel towards one another (even after they warm up to each other, there's still some competitiveness between them) even extends to leaving the house. If one goes with you, the other will go as well.

You know yesterday when I saw It Chapter 2 I saw the trailer for Black Christmas. I didn’t talk about it after I made my reaction towards It Chapter 2. But I waited a bit, yet also I was hanging out with my friend and had fun. Such as having some Taco Bell and watching the real time fan dub for Sonic 06 which was a experience and a good one too.

Now seeing a thumbnail ad for the new Black Christmas remake when I was looking up the new Joker trailer. Decided to see that Joker trailer again because it’s a awesome trailer. But now I’m finally discussing that trailer of the upcoming Black Christmas remake by Blumhouse.

Just to get this straight, I’m disappointed.

Because as someone who loves the original Black Christmas movie, and who likes Blumhouse and was very interested in their remake of a classic film I love. Including the fact it’s a 2nd remake too because the film got remade once but I haven’t seen but I know of the first remake and how it goes.

But yeah I’m disappointed. The fact I didn’t finish Cody Leach’s video on the announcement and then he started talking about the direction the film was going. I was just excited hoping to see one of my favorite slashers Billy(Or Billy Lenz) coming back to theaters but in a modern setting again. Basically saying nasty shit over the phone and just being his terrifying self.

Yeah when seeing that trailer before It Chapter 2, I didn’t like it. While I guess I can understand and been thinking of what will be the defense of people will give this movie. The idea you just can’t remake the first film and just do it in a modern setting. 

But still the fact the remake changed what appears to be the story and just.....I’m just disappointed.

We maybe won’t be seeing good ol Billy boy with his poofy hair doing his terrible shit to people. 

Seriously I had hoped for a better modern take of the classic story. Because what I have heard and seen of the first remake disappoints me. Just a well made remake that well it would be it’s own thing. But you still have I guess the same characters. I’m sounding stupid and hypocritical. I’m gonna look up how people are feeling on Tumblr by searching the tag.

Because I’m not gonna go see the remake after seeing that trailer. I may sound harsh but yeah. But also maybe before that gonna help my dad and brother when my brother gets back.
