Hold up! Didn’t know a mid season trailer dropped and…

I know the costume design on every trial eats. But this trial? It’s about to go crazy! I’m so excited to see this episode. Billy as Maleficent. Lilia as Glinda the good witch. I think Agatha is the green witch. Might be a stretch, but I think is Jen the crone version of evil’s stepmother from Snow White.

So apparently Joe Locke gave this quote

“The costumes hold all the secrets of the show. If you look closely at all the costumes, you’ll find every twist and turn of the show in them, which is so clever.”

While I was attempting to identify the symbols on his sweater I realized the symbols literally change from episode to episode. The costume designers made a bunch of different non-identical sweaters for him:

The pentacle is the most obvious - it disappears!

There appear to be other variations in the promotional materials as well with an entirely different set of symbols:

So… anyone have any clever guesses what Billy’s magic sweater is all about??? I’m stumped beyond thinking the runes are somehow important like they were in Wandavision. Any ideas?

Felt like cleaning up and reposting some old cosplay photos. These are all from around 2015, and the costume is more closely based on Young Avengers volume 1. My original and slightly more mature design can be seen here.

This character has been close to my heart for a very long time-- as a person of Romani descent, and as a gay kid growing up in the 2000s, the fact that one of the most groundbreaking gay characters in comics shared this aspect of my heritage, even in an abstract form, really meant a lot to me. I am genuinely quite sad that Billy has been adapted into the M C U with both his Jewish identity and Roma heritage erased. I also feel like this version of the character hews very closely to my own style and gender expression, and it's frustrating to see that this can only be represented at the expense of racial and cultural authenticity.

Cosplay tutorial: Billy’s Crown

In case anyone else looked at Billy’s outfit and thought ‘yeah I can cosplay that in time for Halloween,’ I thought I’d share what I learned about how to make the crown using just paper, hot glue, and paint

Step 1: Draw the design (or print my template)

Should be to scale for the size of your head (mine is 8” wide)

I used construction paper, idk if it matters

You can print and use mine since drawing this was time consuming af

Step 2: Trace over the lines using hot glue

If your hand isn’t that steady, you may want to simplify the pattern a bit

Pro tip - take breaks! I gave myself nerve compression holding the hot glue trigger too long lol

Step 3: Remove the paper backing

I used a combination of sandpaper, a toothpick, water, and my fingernails

Just do your best, the goal is just for it to not show through the holes

Step 4: Paint with metallic blue paint

Step 5: Attach to your hair with bobby pins

Done!

Since I've posted today those icons of Billy, I decided to post tho my cosplay of him that I made a few days back ago, I hope u guys like it!!

It's from the Halloween episode of Wandavision, that he's wearing a cheap version of his classic costume of the comics!

It was really fun to make it, my first cosplay ever! I'm already working on Clint Barton of the Hawkeye 2013 comic! Or maybe about Jack Frost from Rise Of Guardians!
