My intro animation for Magnum Opossum! She's the leader of my troupe of Mega Man X-inspired robot animals.
As their creator's greatest work, she graces the others with the presence of her superior construction and engineering. Anything you can do, she has already done and won an award for it. Jack of all trades, master of all those same trades. Her vainglorious ego may be the only way past her...
This one took longer than the others but... its what Magnum Opossum would want. As the robot simply superior than the rest of her peers, her animated intro must have a higher budget to match. I also kept her on 2s or 3s, animating on 4s would be an insult to her greatness.

The Bat-Adoption Papers are literal Magic Contracts
So! In the Deified Batman AU (the AU where the Belief of the peoples of Gotham accidentally Ascended Batman to minor godhood), the Bat Adoption Papers would be a fun concept.
Batman is a God of The Night, Fear, and Protection. Specifically, the protection of Children, which is one of his biggest motivators. Meaning, it's a big part of his Divine Domain.
So when he, a God of Protection and Children, adopts his own Child? It's kind of a big deal.
His Adoption Papers basically become Magical Contracts that claim Dick to him as his own Son, basically turning Dick into a Demigod by the fact that he is the Son of a God.
Then each time Batman adopts a kid, they become a Demigod as well. Maybe after enough time, and after they forge their own Identities, they could become Minor Gods of their own? Idk, fun idea
Why do I bring this up?
Well, when Danny eventually joins the JLA, and runs into Batman, all he sees in a God of the Night, who takes one look at him, and then pulls out a Magical Binding Contract from his Belt.
Needless to say, he books it.

Spoiler: Let’s break this criminal down.
Red Robin, nodding: We need to break him down quick.
Blackbat, in understanding, immediately breaks the criminal’s leg without missing a beat.
Nightwing, over the screaming: Alright, you two knew she was going to take it that way.

The full, finished "boss select" animation for Laser Alligazer! I went into Too Much Mode for this since I like him so much, so it also has an attack animation in it. The others in this series won't be so long. If you want to see those as I finish them, stick around! This is one part of a series of very Mega Man X / Reploid-inspired designs I've made for an eventual cartoon or game. I have 8 or so designed, and I'm giving each one a proper intro animation like this. FUN FACT: To ensure his lenses stay clean and sterile at all times, his helmet is sealed with a specially formulated atmosphere inside it. If any debris gets on those lenses, he'll end up backfiring and blowing himself up during the laser firing procedure.

Erin Reed at Erin In The Morning:
In an announcement for Pride Month, UN Women—the United Nations entity responsible for global women's issues—announced that anti-rights movements are on the rise across the world with respect to LGBTQ+ people. The organization highlighted steps being taken in several countries to target transgender people, women, and LGBTQ+ people with overtly discriminatory policies and restrictions. UN Women also explicitly called out several movements as "anti-rights," including the "gender-critical" movement, which frames women's rights as being in opposition to transgender people.
On June 11th, UN Women took to social media to sound the alarm on the surge of anti-LGBTQ+ movements, which have been fueled by a 50% funding increase over the past decade. The UN's arm for global women's issues highlighted how these anti-rights movements are gaining traction worldwide, notably those trying to pit trans rights against women's rights. "Some try to frame the human rights of transgender people as being at odds with women's rights, for instance, asserting that trans women pose a threat to the rights, spaces, and safety of cisgender women," the announcement stated. However, such assertions have no factual basis; transgender people are often the most at risk in such spaces, and hate-fueled rhetoric from these movements can increase that risk. Perhaps most impactful, though, is the full report released alongside the announcement. In the report, UN Women explicitly calls out the "gender-critical" movement, which has infamous adherents such as J.K. Rowling, as being an extremist "anti-rights" movement similar to "men's rights activism" in rhetoric.
[...]
Currently, the "gender-critical" movement is most active in the United Kingdom. Recently, Conservative Women and Equalities Minister Kemi Badenoch revealed that members of the movement were put in key health positions to produce the Cass Review, a report that resulted in broad-scale attacks on transgender youth and their medical care in the country. Similarly, the U.K. is currently grappling with attempts to promote conversion therapy of transgender youth, ban trans people from bathrooms that align with their gender identity, and exclude trans women from women's hospital wards. In the United States, Republican candidates and legislators have latched onto similar language, passing "Women's Bills of Rights" that contain little regarding women's rights but instead target transgender women's access to bathrooms and seek to end legal recognition of transgender people altogether. Notably, these legislators and the organizations that push the bills often oppose many other women's rights issues, such as reproductive healthcare access, abortion rights, and generous paid family leave.
The move to declare "gender-criticals" an anti-rights movement is a notable one. In recent years, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women, Reem Alsalem, has supported "gender-critical" issues and been praised by supporters of the movement for doing so.
Good on UN Women calling out the anti-trans "gender-critical" movement (among other anti-rights movements).
They take to task the false framing that women's rights and trans rights are in conflict, in which anti-trans extremists push the bigoted trope that trans women purportedly threaten cis women's safety and rights.

That’s because the Cass Review rejects the affirming model of care embraced by groups in the US like the American Psychological Association or the American Academy of Pediatrics and instead openly regards medical transitions as an unjustifiable last step to be pursued after blaming a child’s gender nonconformity on anything and everything else—social influences, comorbid mental health disorders, or the influence of social media among them. Contrary to its stated aims, the Review further pathologizes gender nonconformity itself, claiming “social transitions”—which can be as simple as a new haircut and clothes—”may change the trajectory of gender identity development” and thus should be avoided, a slippery slope argument that suggests letting your son play with Barbies will invariably lead to a vaginoplasty so best to hand him the monster truck and nip it in the bud. Most tellingly, the review claims limiting access to hormone treatments for adults may be advisable, theorizing “a follow-through service continuing up to age 25 would remove the need for transition at this vulnerable time and benefit both this younger population and the adult population.” The overall recommendation is to force patients to wait through psychological busywork and relevant-sounding delays, implementing a largely-arbitrary set of hoops to jump through with the hopes the patient just gives up. Focus on the patient’s anxiety, focus on their autism, focus on any other issue except their gender and their desire for a sex change because, as private British medical provider GenderGP said of the report’s underlying assumptions, “cisgender lives are judged to be more valuable or desirable than transgender lives and that healthcare services should prioritise encouraging youth to assume cisgender lives, regardless of the suffering that this causes.”
This is a democratic vision of medicine that doesn’t disregard empirical measures but, in fact, acts in their defense. These advocates rightfully recognizes that standards of evidence often regarded as “objective” are frequently enough built on the subjective biases of researchers and practitioners and the subjectivity of patients is a necessary corrective. Clearly, however, many politicians and right-wing activists are eager to have the medical state return to its role as a reliable partner for eugenic social engineering, closing paths toward “subjective satisfaction” and forcing patients towards rigid, essentialist understandings of not only who gets to be a man or woman but what men and women are for. You see this not only in the Cass Review nor just in regards to transgender medicine; it was a rife theme in the Supreme Court filings and arguments over the FDA’s approval of the abortion drug mifepristone, where a conservative set of doctors—one of whom also authored Indiana’s ban on gender-affirming care—demanded the return of restrictions against the drug which advocates long-held were based in stigma, not evidence.
[...]
The state doesn’t claim banning this care is in the best interests of transgender children—it simply asserts nothing in the Constitution prevents it from doing so. This is why transgender people’s autonomy will either spring from our own humanity and subjectivity or not at all: That right is limited when it is only granted with the blessing of pathology because, when asked to choose between their relationship to power or their relationship to their patients, many doctors like Dr. Cass will go leaps and bounds to choose their power over their patients. For much of the cisgender public—and even some trans advocates—that may come as a surprise. Gender transitions are understood as the treatment for a condition called gender dypshoria rather than a human right. And while the distress and dissociation that we call “dysphoria” is real, gender dysphoria’s existence as a diagnosis is simply the key that unlocks the cage transsexual people are put in to deny us autonomy over our own bodies, tying us to the conditional good will of a biased and compromised medical state.
The doctors who wish to once again be the masters of their abortion patients are now limited to the few cranks and conservative activists who would sign up to overturn the FDA’s approval of mifepristone. Because transgender people’s autonomy challenges more assumptions about gendered life than abortion does, however—negating not just patriarchal power but the naturalized gender binary that serves as its foundation—and transgender people ourselves are still denied representation among the decision-making institutions that govern this care, the doctors running that playbook against us are welcomed as liberators by media outlets and politicians already convinced a transgender life is an unlivable life. As much as 19th-century gatekeepers couldn’t fathom a woman that would want to end a pregnancy in the absence of a life-threatening emergency, 21st-century gatekeepers still can’t fathom the desire to change one’s sex—particularly when the world still treats trans people like shit. Our “subjective satisfaction” is thus steamrolled by supposedly “objective” measures constructed around that failure of their own imagination, our misery living in a transphobic world treated as simply yet another reason to do away with transsexual life altogether.
