Hey guys so do we want to talk about how Lila’s entire thing is that she lies and yet the biggest lie this season isn’t coming from her... but from Marinette.
How Lila and Marinette match each other intellectually, which Marinette herself says while fighting Lila (‘unlike the other Hawkmoth you’re actually clever!’). How Marinette has always fought against Lila’s lies but is now perpetuating one herself that will probably turn out to be one of the most (unintentionally-don't attack my daughter) harmful ones in the show- and its to Adrien- one of the only people who didn't initially fall for Lila's lies.
How the thing- the lie that is going to break Adrien this season, that will guiltrip him over his final confrontation with his father, make him hate himself for not being there for the final battle, and make him feel the weight of a thousand revelations and implications and betrayal once revealed, comes not from the villain known for lying... but from Marinette.
There is something to be said about villains paralleling the hero, and BOY is this season going to be one of the most heartbreaking and craziest examples of it yet.

okay but imagine if zoe was significantly younger than chloe. like 7+ years younger, and audrey left so she could start over with a new family in new york.
because audrey would leave all the time for work, and also whenever she and andre had a particularly bad fight. when audrey left one day, chloe fully expected her to come back but the weeks turned to months and suddenly it’s been years and she never came back.
only for these paparazzi photos to surface of audrey with this toddler and she looks so happy. and adrien helps chloe get through it, because her dad won’t even comfort her because he’s pouring everything into his career so he tries to buy her happiness.
and when chloe’s 15 audrey comes back to paris with zoe, who’s just a 7/8 year old kid, chloe hates her at first. she sees her as the reason audrey left. but audrey’s still the same shitty mom, and chloe gets the chance to step up and be zoe’s big sister.

Shadybug and Claw Noir spoilers!
So I just finished watching the new Miraculous special and, whether it’s intentional or not, I love the idea that Shadybug and Claw Noir modelled aspects of their new suits off of our Ladybug and Chat Noir b/c those two helped them see that they could be better.
(I’m gonna call the reverse world pair Shadybug and Claw Noir for sake of readability and not getting them and LB/CN confused)
The main thing I noticed is both of their hairs (colour and/or style) are now similar to their main world counterparts.
Take Shadybug for example; her original design had her in twin buns, but after she’s redeemed thanks to our Ladybug she now sports the classic pigtails. While I do like the buns, I think the pigtails could be seen as a symbol of her desire to be good while the buns could be a reminder of her time as a villain.
The first step for both of them is so change their outward appearances and then work to change themselves as individuals.

Similarly we see that when Claw Noir changes his costume, his hair changes from green to blonde like Chat Noir’s. While he doesn’t change his hair style, I think that the colour change for Claw Noir could show the same symbolism that I mentioned with Shadybug. Claw Noir is also seen with a new bell; he now has a bell resembling Chats instead of the spiky bell from before.

There are other little things, like Shady and Claw’s eyes changing to their natural colours (and appearing like Ladybug and Chat Noir’s) and the lack of lipstick, but those could have other explanations. The eye colour thing could just be an automatic change to show that they are no longer evil. I think the lipstick thing could either be for the same reason or because they are no longer being damaged by the miraculous.
Whatever the reason, I just love this idea that they took inspiration from the people who showed them hope. Not only that, but these could be things that can remind Shady and Claw about their friends in the other world who believe in them, continuing to inspire them to grow as people and better themselves and others!

I'm so late to this but Miraculous fandom taking a fucking hit down 43 spots in the AO3 ship stats list. I think this is the lowest Adrien/Marinette has been since first appearing on the list in 2016??? Ouch :( my babies :(
On the bright side there's 8 f/f ships in the top 100 which is like a lot compared to years past and three TOH ships are on the list this year (Huntlow for the first time!!)

I’ve slowly been catching up with miraculous ladybug after like 6 years of not interacting with it, and why is my girl Mari doomed by the narrative. She was going through enough she doesn’t need this

Chat Blanc is a legendary episode as a standalone but it is borderline insulting in the greater context of the show

still think it's incredibly fucked up how Gabriel created a senti-replica of himself, called it "perfect", and then deleted it like it was nothing once it had served its purpose

I'm a tad concerned about the implication that Gabriel's actions would somehow be justified if Emilie was a wonderful person. Good or bad, it doesn't matter, it's always going to have an element of the bittersweet. You either get a good Emilie who is horrified by what has been done in her name or a bad Emilie who is happy and who the audience therefore dislikes. Option A is best suited to stories that take canon's ideas more seriously and focus on the nuance canon clearly wanted to include, but failed to actually write. Option B is best suited to stories that lean into the absurdity of canon, which is what Scarlet Lady does, so Zoe's choices make perfect sense. Good Emilie would make for too serious an ending, breaking the established tone.
Is Emilie's character just a joke to you, or do you just dislike kind/gentle/loving/motherly characters (like the rest of the internet)? I mean, you purposely went out of your way to portray Bustier as a terrible person and didn't even try to give her character growth. You know, actually have her BECOME a good teacher. This just makes all the Miraculous conflict over Emilie's fate (and Adrien's sadness) feel bitterly ironic, like "what was it all for" or "all of this madness, for THIS woman"?
As a matter of fact, Emilie IS a joke to me! (Literally, I'm taking shots at a character I made up and who does not exist in canon so I don't know what's got your panties in a twist) And so is Bustier! They are total jokes because it is a total farce that the show tried to portray either of these women as infallible beacons of good, motherly, perfection.
Yeah, Bustier is gentle and kind and condescending and plays favorites and ignores conflict until she literally can't. Emilie...I mean, we don't know Emilie. YOU don't know Emilie. The show does not show us Emilie. According to biased sources she was "kind/gentle/loving/motherly", but that's not supported by her actions.
How can Emilie be "motherly" AND Adrien's never had a real birthday gift? How can she be "kind" AND Adrien's only been allowed to be friend's with Chloe? How can she be "loving" AND Adrien's been trapped inside his house when he WANTS to go to school with everyone else?
As for why Bustier didn't get character growth in Scarlet Lady, it's because I didn't want to? You know, some of us HAD the "nice" teacher who actually wasn't all that great, and we just had to kinda live with it until we graduated and moved on. I'm not making time for them in my spite fic about fictional characters.
Look, it's nice you want to buy what that show is trying to sell you. If you want to believe that Bustier and Emilie are nice and wonderful and nurturing just because the characters all say that they are, be my guest. No one is stopping you. Canon is here for you.
But I'm not buying.
And in case you forgot, kind/gentle/loving/motherly people are allowed to be more than just that. They're allowed to be multi-faceted and have goals and interests outside of Being a Mom. Because moms are people to.
