King David: An OT Example of Submission to God
David provides a good example of an OT believer who lived in regular submission to God. The Bible describes David as a man after God’s own heart (1 Sam 13:14; cf. Acts 13:22). David walked faithfully with the Lord and surrendered to His will. David was an obedient king, for the most part, and subsequent kings were measured by him (1 Ki 3:14; 9:4-5; 11:4-6, 31-34, 38; 14:7-8; 15:1-5; 11-15; 2 Ki…

one thing about biblical womanhood posts that I’ve noticed is that when it’s talked about, they still strive to emphasize the aspects that were remarkable situations— they leave a faint taste of feminism in my mouth because they focus on Deborah, the woman raised up to lead because the men wouldn’t; they focus on Jael, the woman who kills a man with a tent spike; a woman dropping a stone, Rahab smuggling Israelites and defying authorities—
And all of these are raised up and praised as the Biblical woman with just a hint of look!! We’re strong!! We’re in the thick of it!! We’re not submissive doormats!!
In one sense, this is true. These are great, godly women. They are our examples.
But in all our striving to remind people of biblical women’s strength, we cannot forget who else are our examples.
We cannot forget Ruth. Ruth who humbled herself and remains loyal with Naomi, submitting herself to God and trusting in His provision. Ruth who lays herself at Boaz’s feet and who sacrifices possibly being a widow soon again for the sake of Naomi’s care and God’s provision.
Martha— one who serves and who desires to serve
Mary— one who sits at Christ’s feet to learn and desires to hear the words of her Lord
Lydia— who insisted on hosting and serving the Lord’s messengers; who would be possibly sacrificing her wealth being a part of the church in Philippi and serving the church
Mary— Jesus’ mother who submitted herself to God’s will, submitted herself to the scorn of her peers, who trusted the Lord to fulfill His promises and whose soul was pierced with a sword
The strength of godly wives who submit though their flesh and curse is contrary— the strength of women who order their homes, are humble, are helpers, are mothers, are servers, are menders, are teachers, are caregivers, are sellers and makers, are students of our Lord.
Don’t confuse gentleness for weakness; nor tenderness for a lack of strength.
Women are strong.
And it’s not because of tent spikes.

sorry for answering that ask half asleep. the REAL thing you need to know about dragon age is that it’s not one of those fantasy worlds that’s built really deeply fixed into real history with deep knowledge. it borrows shallowly. it’s built first and foremost to set a videogame in and i love that about it, that it’s built so quickly you can still see the scaffolding went up and how they got there. they decide on a worldbuilding principle—“uhhh what if our jesus figure was [spins wheel] joan of arc?—and they go for it because they are on a schedule. you should absolutely never be intimidated by dragon age lore it does not know more than you. all i’m doing is being able to make good guesses at what they’re borrowing from and make leaps from there

the "barista in cthulhu's body conundrum" isn't the annoying trope that's most pervasive on tumblr, but it's certainly up there. people just really, really, REALLY want to believe that human perspectives and modes of interaction are universal.

When I say I want biblical songs and poems, I don't mean worship songs (not that it's a bad thing). I need creepy songs. Creepy but calm songs. Songs that show the bitter truth and ruthlessness of the Bible and the old testament. Songs that make you question the true meaning. Songs that make you fear God but not in a worship way, but in a "we are his barbie dolls" way. Songs that go over stories in the Bible with all the gross and horryfiying details. I NEED THIS

Jesus, the Perfect Example of Submission to God
Jesus Christ provides the perfect example of submission to God. He’s the perfect example because He is perfect and never disobeyed the Lord. Jesus said, “I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me” (John 5:30), and “I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me” (John 6:38). In the Garden of Gethsemane before His crucifixion, Jesus prayed,…

Examples of a family turning against each other
Cain turned against Abel Cain and Abel were the first two sons of Adam and Eve and were brothers. When they became adults, Cain became a farmer and Abel a shepherd. Sometime later, they offered sacrifices to God out of devotion. Cain picked some foodstuffs and sacrificed it to God. However, Abel, by faith, chose one of his best livestock and offered it to God. God accepted Abel’s sacrifice and…

QSMP egg hcs! plus some concepts for future dragon designs hehe.
I like to think that this species of dragon are shapeshifters, so mimic the form of creature's around them. they also tend to be similar to cuckoo birds, in that their young are raised by other creature's (hence the shapeshifting)
they're loosely based on Cuélebres, Quetzalcoatls, and Amarus!
text on the first image under the cut:
egg mimics form of caretaker(s), plus extra personality. colors start off muted (grays, browns etc), but are mimiced as well
2. legs + tails develop before rest of body. helps egg escape danger + find food.
3. tail can hold item. useful for protection and finding food.
4. clothing replaces shell as egg's protection
